Amazing shop with the opportunity to eat inside, I love the concept and I'm tempted to buy everything every time I put my feet inside!
I went there many times, to grab some cheese, for brunch, for a fondue at 4pm on a Saturday.. and the last time for an aperitivo before dinner.
I was with a friend and we decided to go for the French cheese plate and two glasses of wine suggested. The cheese is always amazing and 100% comparable to what you would get in France. The wine was nice and well combined.
Would recommend it! Be aware that the kitchen closes quite early in the evening unfortunately..
Sometimes I find the hustle and bustle of South Kensington and Oxford Street a bit much. I can’t really understand how it would be feasible to frequent those locales on a persistent basis. With the cacophony of tourists, collection of aggressive formidably large non-British cars and that bastion of British shopping, Harrods, swamped by intentional petitioners, I always wondered where the British actually go instead.
Got a favourite British cheese? Yeah, me too. In fact, a couple of my all-time favourite cheeses are produced here in Britain. Now cheese lovers across the UK can nominate our choices for best British cheese in the new British Cheese Awards. The awards aim to celebrate the best of British cheese produced and distributed by independent cheesemakers and retailers and to bring together a community of fine food lovers to nominate and vote for their favourite British cheeses and discover the best cheese shops in the UK.
I'm going to stop short of giving this place 5* for one reason only - the staff. I'm lucky to eat all over the world regularly, but rarely have I come across staff with such a shit attitude. Can't fault the food there, in particular the cheese, obviously, which is home to some of the best varieties in London. However, the guys who work in the cheese shop have the customer service skills of a corpse. Sort it out La Fromagerie, or I'll start going elsewhere quickly. Nevertheless, the cheese there is still great.
The venue is at the same time a showcase of traditional products (cheeses, meats, nuts, tinned food, etc.) you can buy as grocery shop or eat-in. It has a mix of rustic (tables and benches) with sophisticated decor with a cosy ambience. For cheese lovers, must visit the cold room of the cheeses! Nice service, products with excellent quality and price is ok. It's worth a visit!
I went there today and loved the concept immediately. Its a grocery shop where yoi can buy French goodies and where you can also go for brunch. Because its so popular youll have to queue. We only had 2 couples in front of us and we've waited almost 30m. Ive ordered the eggs benedict and also the french toast. The French toast was our favourite, so good and delicious. Service was quite slow, so make sure you're not in a hury
It's one of those places you can't just go try or go once for an experience. You have to keep returning! This place will have you addicted in no time. I ordered a simple Black Iced Americano to order, but being a coffee addict I need to try their other coffees too. What I did order to eat was the Burrata and Crisp Speck with Figs! Since I was alone, I happily sat in the corner with my book, I devoured my lunch in quite deliberation and happy disposition. The dish was absolutely delicious. Simple, fresh, clean and wholesome. I impulsively also ate a doughnut just because I was feeling like a fatty, but I didn't regret it either, melted in my mouth, just so tasty. :)
I ended up buying artichokes on the way out, with not even the rarest idea I would be buying them when I entered. I have tried their cheese before, and this will be a place that I will now be frequenting every other Sunday, for brunches or brie! ;)
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes out there with clever names, some delicious puns, but none can conjure up the mouthwatering effects of a restaurant of cheese.  A casual cafe-style exterior just off Marylebone High St belies a large and bustling interior, full to the brim with cafe-style tables and chairs, fresh fruit and veg dotted around and plenty of goodies up for sale.  And of course, there’s a whole ROOM dedicated to cheese.
So this is what it's like to die and go to cheese heaven. The look and feel of La Fromagerie screams effortless cool but is surprisingly staffed by friendly, knowledgable staff who appear to love the foodstuffs as much as the patrons.
First things first, breakfast at the restaurant is amazing. The concentration, unsurprisingly, is on letting the true flavours of the food sing through simple recipes. Service was excellent and the latte delicious.
Now, the produce: The smoked salmon is made in-house and is so tasty; the bread is to die for; and you can pick up some amazing cheeses that shockingly won't break the bank. All in all, this is a foodies paradise but can definitely be appreciated by anyone visiting the neighbourhood.
You made my day :-)
Cheese glorious cheese. Without wishing to name drop (perish the thought) I have known the owner of this emporium for nigh on 15 years. I used to stop that the hole in the wall that she used to have on Highbury Grange on my way home and treat myself to her wonderful cheeses and fantastic mushrooms. Since then, she moved to a much bigger shop in Highbury Grange and then this fantastic space in Marylebone.
The main point isn't the cafe – it's the cheese. The cheese room is second to none in London in my opinion. The cafe is small and serves (as well as the cheeses) wonderful tarts soups and salads.
It's a great place for a light lunch/early supper and they do breakfast as well. The service is a bit hit and miss but the food makes it worthwhile. Don't even think about not going into the cheese room whilst you're there
I happen to love cheese and if you're anything like me, you'll also like this spot. Great cheese range, tasty snacks (their quiche is my personal favourite!) and a small grocery shop with foodie treats on offer.
I've been dying to go to La Fromagerie for ages. My normal cheese place " La Cave du Fromage", in South Ken, has been seemingly getting further and further away - a product of my increasing laziness and lack of desire to leave the Holborn/Covent Garden/Mayfair/Marylebone area. So one day my cheese and wine buddy - The Bestie decided to try it out. I was expecting something completely different with regards to the venue of La Fromagerie, given it is off the very swish Marylebone High Street, I expected lots of clean lines and a polished look. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Uneven distressed tables, fruit and veg climbing the walls in shelves, deli counter and random bits and bobs here and there. Its a bit like a rustic whole foods with a seating area. In this sense it's quite entertaining to see the ultra-groomed with their expensive handbags having lunch on a rickity stool - it doesn't seem to add up. Anyway I liked it. I also liked the way the cheese boards are created by theme - F
Many years ago when we discovered the quaint villagey area of Marylebone and the fantastic La Fromagerie. At the time we were living in food hell. Ie. Brentford. Which if you have never visited, it takes an age to get to and from. It's in the arse end of London and somehow we were there for far too long. Once in a while we would end up in heaven. Wandering those peaceful streets of Marylebone, looking in those oh so pretty shops, and the oh so prettier people. How we dreamed of living here, rather than in Brentford. So on some Sundays we would make a beeline for La Fromagerie for brunch. We were always impatient and hated queuing but it was the done thing, and so we queued as true Englishmen do, although one of us is not. We would wait till it was our turn to sit on that long wooden bench with those oh so pretty people. The selection of salads on show were heaven on earth. The cheese boards from the cheese room used to drive us wild with happiness. All this washed down with a bottle of
La Fromagerie is a beautiful shop. A real Aladdin’s cave of cheesy treasures and it is packed full of personality, warmth and charm that reflects well on Patricia, the owner who has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things cheese.
Quite possibly the best coffee I have had in London, just like being in Italy their coffee is served hottish, warm so you can drink it rather than having to wait 1 hour for it to cool down.
As you enter La Fromagerie you will be instantly hit by the smell of cheese, either you will love it or hate it, but being a cheese lover I love it, but hate the fact it just wants to make me buy lots, so i can enjoy it over the coming week.
What else you will notice as you enter is that this is not just a cafe / restaurant, far from it, this is a great deli selling cheese, pasta, wine, olive oil, fresh vegetables, French Red Garlic in pallets stacked to the roof (im told this is the best Garlic you can have).
Being half Italian and family from Puglia i was happy to learn they sell Burrata, this cheese is only produced in Puglia and has to be eaten fresh, i now know they take delivery every Monday so i will be joining the queue to make my purchase.
If you're looking for a place that serves some food with a killer coffee, has a nice atmosphere then i suggest you stop by, also don't be surprised if you spot a AAA superstar sitting quietly in the corner enjoying their coffee.
I have had mixed experiences- some dreamy cheese that you can't get anywhere else, but some rotten duds as well. There is a sense that they will fob off the mediocre cheese to those they think don't know their stuff.
La Formagerie is french coffee and cheese store on the other side offering various selecion of meals.
The venue is also popular in the area-Marylebone with its cheese selection from France to Norway for all the delicate tastes. Also they provide a different selection of seasonable fruit and vegetables and homemade jams, cakes, biscuits, olive oils and much more in the store.
Moreover in the website you can also order online- different hampers depends the season signed books, vouchers, postcards.
The atmosphere inside is very cozy and enjoyable and I highly recommend it.
La fromagerie is the perfect pit stop when you need a break from a long shopping spree in Marylebone ! This is the temple of cheese and wine ! Not only is this a delicatessen with fresh groceries, but a gorgeous lunch is also served in the petite dinning room to showcase the quality food ! French cheeses prevail here and you can taste before you buy if you're not sure which sort you'd like best !
This is the true temple of cheese for amateurs! A wide choice if you want to go shopping, but you can also eat around long and friendly rustic wooden tables. All dishes on the menu are cheese-based, from soups to salads or quiches. You will feel like being in the farm, consuming fresh dairy products arrived on the morning.

Some lovely coffee and cakes. However the staff were rather rude to me and didn't give me the time of day. Despite the intimating setting and cold staff some of the cheeses were fantastic. Some lovely French classics. One of the best French cheese shops i know in London. A must go destination.
Very High quality and delicious food; the price perfectly shows how the restaurant values its top quality ingredients.
Try the fresh salmon, the betroots soup and its wide choice of cheese from all over the world.
Try to book on advance as the place is small but very pretty and cozy.
Moreover if you fancy buying some fresh top quality ingredient the restaurant has a corner dedicated as a shop.
Very good! I love this place. I'm love to eat there with my family, my girlfriend and my friends. I used to eat there every week! Very good place.
I just love French cuisine! I've been here and it is a perfect hotel. I couldn't even leave the place. Ambiance is like heaven! How clean and good! So spacious and delicious food. Hot and fresh food, french bread and new trendy menus! Simply the best :D
You know those times when you stumble upon something when you weren't really meaning to and the rest of your evening is all about gaping, wowing and just remembering how good life can get sometimes? La Fromagerie makesthat happen.
It actually is tucked away in a corner of Marylebone High Street and makes you believe its a fancy grocery when you first enter. Once you're done walking past the best and freshest harvest you'll find, you can even visit the Cheese Room that stands behind Glass walls. Or if you're like me with a sensitive sense of smell, admire it from a distance.Take a turn or two and you find yourself in a quaint cafe with wooden seating arrangements. Also, they've
conveniently placed the desserts close to the seating so that whiff keeps calling you until you have it on your own table.
My first visit to La Fromagerie was all about the Desserts I ate. The second will only be about the Cheese.
Great cheese selection and super helpful and knowledgeable staff to advise. I described what I was after and was offered 2 to taste, both were exactly what I was looking for! Worth noting that top service dosent end with selling - it was a very rainy day in London and my phone was playing up due to the dampness - staff member went out of her way to get me some paper towel though at that stage I had not bought anything, I was still a valuable customer. They also have a cafe and a high procduce section - bought some of the honey.
Amazing cheese shop in Marylebone. They offer a variety of options for brunch, I recommend going in small groups as they tables aren’t that large. Our favorite was the croque madame. The cheese room is spectacular - they have every cheese I could have imagined!
had to wait about 15 minutes before seated on Friday around 12:30. the table is a bit small if you order more than three plates, and the space between tables are narrow too! but the food was amazing, especially the pumpkin tortellini with butter & sage sauce! (guess the menu changes daily cuz the date was written on the menu)
Not much choice for a warm food. But, lot of selection of cheese board. If you love cheese 🧀 would recommend it
The place to get your cheese and wine fill! They have a cheese fridge that you can walk in and ask for advice from the staff on cheese (and wine pairings). They're very helpful!
Aside from cheese and wine, there's a good selection of vegetables, meats, and other dry items.
A visit this afternoon at La Fromagerie. A lot of italian cooking ingredients in fresh & dry forms. A special room sells different types of cheezes. Extend to another shop sell freshly made foods & ready for dine in or take away.
Cosy winter place with cheese fondu to keep you warm. It’s a coffee with few tables but the other side of it is a cheese room and they sell vegetables too. Worth going with a friend to sit, chill and enjoy the mood.
One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Been making a bee line here every time I go to London, for years now, and for good reason. More than just a restaurant, it’s a fresh cheese and produce shop and actually one of the most visually appealing and just plain magnificent. Good can’t get any fresher then it is here, service is top notch, Patricia has done an amazing job and it doesn’t seem to waver.
We visited the Marylebone Sunday Farmers market and then popped in here for a bite.
I ordered the bacon sandwich with pancetta. The pancetta was lovely, salty and crisped up beautifully, so much so that the missus asked to buy some. Unfortunately, Mr Modur (?) told us that they had almost run out of current stock but kindly allowed us to buy a few slices. He was also kind enough to let us try a couple of slices of French proscuitto.
The eggs benedict was also very good, and went well with the coffee and pot of tea.
Service was excellent and very friendly. We also got a few jams and cheeses from their shop next door.
We will be back the next time we visit London.
Excellent selection of cheeses, wines, teas and cold cuts!
