Been here a few times - can be quiet can also be packed out. Good selection of beers .. especially from the St Austell brewery. The cheese platter I had was quite enormous. They had stopped doing some of the others from earlier in the summer which is a pity because the fried seafood one was tasty and filling.
I'm vegan, with a couple of food allergies, which makes travel, at times, a bit challenging, so finding most restaurants in the UK featuring vegan options is such a nice surprise. The Marquis is one such place. A delightful find after a quick search for "vegan restaurants near me" as I was in the neighborhood. Such a cute vibe, fabulous servers and fresh, really delicious food. If you're out and about and looking for a good place to take a break from your adventures, be sure to stop at The Marquis.
Overall, a nice bar restaurant with some pretty good food. I’d recommend the Loaded Fries to start and the Cornish Brie Burger. The Caesar Chicken Burger was disappointing and dry, as was Posh Fish Finger Bap, which was flavorless. The hostess was kind and made room for our party of 6. Service is pretty timely although a little inattentive.
Found this place whilst milling around London and decided to drop in for a few drinks.
What a great find!! Vinyl records which they take requests on, funky decor very British rock/mod feel to it with great energetic and enthusiastic staff who add to the great atmosphere there.
Drinks prices were on par with our local which is not in London and food looked delicious that we saw floating around.
Definitely visit here again!!
What a fantastic little gem of a place. Downstairs was buzzing at the time of our visit which was on a Saturday night.
Ordered x2 single vodka & diet cokes, x1 vodka & tonic and x1 lager dash which came to a little under £24 .... not too bad for London really.
We were all upstairs for Big Al's Birthday bash in a relatively smallish private function room. Tables, seats, music, people and a bar .... Do you really need anything else?
The bar maid upstairs was amazing and sooo friendly (pictures as promised).
Defo 5* and worth a visit!
Lovely dining room upstairs, food was very tasty and well presented. Service was extremely kind and nice. Highly recommend :)
Cumberland sausage baguette and steak and ale pie both excellent. Pork pie okay - crust a little heavy for my taste.
Quirky intimate pub with a great atmosphere! Staff are friendly too. Found the selection of premium draught beers was lacking but that’s personal preference. If you’re into Ales, this place will be a hit!
Family of 14 had a lovely meal. All the food was brought out at the same time & everyone enjoyed it!
Had a table booked after in the bar. Great atmosphere, rugby was on which pleased the Irish family!
Will definitely visit again!
Lovely old pub with lots of original features. Small bar area but you can book a space in advance if there are a few of you meeting up.
The service was great and the selection of beers was quite good. Loved that there is a record player on the bar for music!
Didn't have food this time as we were just meeting before a restaurant reservation.
A great pub that I try to visit whenever I go to London. Great atmosphere at lunch and into the evening. It’s a very friendly place and great to spend some time, especially if you can find a seat. Having records playing is a real treat & adds to the sense of fun.
Have deducted a star because, inexplicably, there is a large TV screen going all day, which definitely isn’t why people go to a pub like that.
