The skeptic in me didn't believe the menu that boasted london's best croissant. But on trying it I have to report not only is it true but even their cappuccino is ok elf the finest I've had till now that it is definitely one of the best - I recommend the ham and cheese croissant . I'd avoid the ricotta strudel next time, as it was slightly dry and dough-y. But this place has some promise!

The ambiance at the Delaunay was a big draw. Their pastries and latte were always good. I can vouch for their rich, delicious eclairs. A great place to relax at in the afternoon.

The counter at the Delaunay is definitely one of the better cafes in London for breakfast or tea. The Sacher torte is one of a kind, one of the best that I have ever had.

I went to the counter for breakfast and had an amazing time, located next to "Roka" and fairly close to the Savoy and temple station Delaunay's is quite easy to find. They serve up fresh warm croissants and other pastries. I had the Bircher muesli, croissant and the Sacher torte. The muesli at the counter is one of a kind, the last time that I had muesli that was this good was in Zurich itself. The croissant was crisp and buttery and the Sacher torte was to die for.

I would suggest every one to dine at Delaunay's as the food is of very high quality and very good.

Food: one of the best cafés you will find in London. Offers a delicious and wide selection of food. I recommend any of the sausages, the chicken soup, the chicken salad and the pretzels are great! As for deserts, the poppy seed cake is a must try!!
I haven't tried their schnitzel but my brother always gets it/loves it.
So I am sure that whatever you try you will enjoy!
Atmosphere/Seating: unique in its style. GO CHECK IT OUT. service is pretty good too.

Location: close to holborn/covent garden/charing cross, near quite a few theatres including the Lion King one!
Bon Appetit!

For some cake and a coffee The Counter at the Delaunay is a nice spot to step out of the hubbub of traffic and pedestrians on Aldwych, and particularly if you like European-style cafes and bistros.
An adjunct to the Delaunay's main grand European Cafe Restaurant The Counter takes the more transient customers looking to takeaway or stop for half-an-hour.
It sells a range of pastries, cakes and tarts, Viennoiserie, soups, salads and sandwiches, specialising in a good continental breakfast and some all day staples.
The place feels evocatively French with its cosy tables and old-fashioned counter, some gentle 1920s-style jazz playing in the background.
I had one of their signature pastries the pistachio mille-feuille, with layers of egg custard and pistachio cream, with an Americano.
But under the glass counter there were many other temptations that caught my eye, including a superb-looking rhubarb and poppy seed cake.

Traditional continental European cuisine served in a classic and elegant ambience. The fillet beef stroganoff is warm, earthy and unctuous, one of the best I ever had. The montbeliard sausages were outstanding as well. All dishes were mildly spicy and a little salty, probably not too good for people with high blood pressure. Puddings were not as strong especially in presentation but didn't disappoint overall. Will come back for sure.

We were there on the first Friday of London Cocktail festival. Everything about this place was excellent - the cokctails, service, atmosphere. Very classy place. Will return and dine next time too

Lovely service, arrived 30 minutes early and was welcomed in with no questions asked. Food was great and fresh, prices are higher than your standard chain but then again, the restaurant is not your standard chain - only thing I question is ~£6 each for mash and chips is slightly questionable but outside of this, all parties at the table didn't complain. 👌

Impressive (well for us) ambience. Very attentive staff. The food was the only let down, chicken tasted just like....well chicken. Though the cheesecake was nice, I expected more of a flourish than just a plan old cheesecake. The chocolate mouse that my fiancee had could have been presented way much better than looking like a lump of sludge (not the word I wanted to use) on a plate.

Excellent 👌 We arrived a few minutes late because we were a bit lost, and we had Tina Turner musical show to attend to at 19h00, and the service was very fast, efficient and welcoming. We ordered the mushroom risotto and the halibut, and both were truly perfect. It's not budget-friendly, and there's a 15% service fee added to your bill, but we were highly satisfied with our choice. We ate very well, we were at the theatre in time (it's just in front of the restaurant), and the staff was top notch. Highly recommended !

The mains were extremely good (and fairly priced) and the service was very slick. The potato salad had a good dressing, but the potatoes were slightly undercooked. The sauerkraut was very sour (more so than on the previous occasions I've had sauerkraut), although I have to say that I'm not an expert. The esterhazy dessert was disappointing (it had unpleasantly sweet icing) and went largely uneaten. The atmosphere improved a lot once the pre-theatre crowd left at around 7.15pm - before that it was fairly noisy

Nice service & ambiance. Melange was superb however too much cinnamon was added to Esterházy torte’s cake batter. You can only get the cinnamon flavour.

came here for breakfast with coworkers — the environment is very lively and elegant with a great selection of breakfast plates and beverages. i ordered the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, which was quite a huge portion and super delicious. you can select your choice of eggs and bread (i had sourdough toast). the earl grey loose leaf tea was lovely as well.

Unfailingly good…a true step back in time to an era of style, service and sophistication that feels as welcoming now as it probably did then. Step off the busy street into quiet calm, and stiffly folded linen. The prices are much more reasonable that you might expect and you will leave happy and full.

It is a beautiful grand cafe and Austrian/Central European themed restaurant, serving authentic food. We had a wonderful time dining here, the waiters were amazing as well. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had lunch at the Delaunay. We had the Beef Tartare, Chicken Schnitzel, Beef Stroganoff, and an Apple Strudel along with a couple of drinks. All the dishes were tasty and well-presented. The Apple Strudel was particularly delicious. We were very impressed by the service, as the food arrived at our table very fast and the staff were extra efficient. In summary, a pleasant European dining experience, at a relatively reasonable price.

Always a pleasant experience and at a surprisingly reasonable price point. Service can be a bit hit or miss but there friendly. Tell them you're on the clock if you're there for lunch. A bit slow. But very enjoyable and reliable. Bar for is excellent too. Fries outstanding.

Great place to have the famous Austrian Stiegl beer 🍺. Also, I tried one of their vegetarian dishes which was based on baked potatoes and eggs, it was nice! Nice ambience and the restrooms were clean. Customer service is good and courteous. Recommended 👍🏻

Top Restaurant. We were a small group with different departures from the Restaurant. The waitress was very accommodating serving some meals quicker. Very good service! Food was very good.

This is a beautiful place, especially if you like cheese and a good location! Located on the busy street, it’s fairly quiet inside away from traffic. Here you can expect something nice rather than a run of the mill restaurant. It wasn’t busy when attending mid-week early evening, so makes a good place before heading to a nearby theatre.

It was good but not great. Great cocktails, but they brought out the wrong dish for one of our starters, which they did correct with graciousness, but then our main courses were dry (duck confit, eggplant and chickpea curry). We ordered dessert (cheesecake) but it took so long we had to settle up and depart before we could have it so as to make our theater time. Great wine, though!

Very interesting venue, well worth a visit. Food was excellent, mid-European in style. Reception staff were great as was our waiter for dinner; couldn't have been more helpful. We returned for breakfast - the only downsize of the entire experience was the waiter who served us initially, he wad either having a bad day or in the wrong profession!
