Recommended by Michelin reviews, this Pakistani Restaurant isn’t the best in terms of seating and service but definitely has very good food.
The naan was good and the dhal makhani was excellent. Loved the saffron rice and the lamb curry!
We tried this restaurant during our recent visit to London. We were craving for some desi food and were happy to know that Zayna was conveniently located just behind our hotel. The first thing we noticed about the restaurant was the attitude of staff which was not courteous at all. Well we went ahead and placed our order. The food took quite a lot of time to arrive, but it was surely worth the wait. We absolutely loved everything that we ordered. Papri chaat, mixed grill, chicken karahi, garlic naan, everything was yum!
We were so impressed by the quality of the food that next day we again went there for lunch. This time around We ordered daal makhani, bati gosht, lahore macchi, kuchumber salad and tandoori paratha. Bati gosht was good but daal makhani was not up to the mark. Kuchumber salad and lahore machhi were really nice though.
Will definitely visit again once we are back in town. Had the staff been more courteous we would have given them a 5 on 5.
The # 1 indian restaurent in london. Highly recommended, great service & staff.
More than perfect , presentation is wonderful , people are so friendly. Zayna rocks , Shan is the best keep it up
Just two minutes walk from our hotel made us go to the restaurant we were completely tired travelling the whole day.
A small and a nice restaurant and very nice soothing Indian / Pakistani music being played made the food experience more homely.
Order Paneer tikka along with the tadka tiranga daal and a #Shipketa ( a kashmiri style of mix vegetable). And the garlic naan.
Paneer (as mostly outside India ) was hard but very well cooked.
The daal and sabji wete excellant and believe me they were extra oil free.
The #garlicnaan was very well tandoored with garlic and tasted with the sabji the whole combination tasted just the best.
Overall full marks for the service and food.
The only marks cut are because being Indians we are used to eating onions along with food and they were charged exorbitant.
ZAYNA...... will return to u when i return to LONDON.
Delicious. The vegetarian chickpeas were the best thing I've eaten in a long time. Will definitely return!
Good Reasonable priced Pakistan Food. 2 adults and a 10year old child ate here in Mid Oct 2009. We really enjoyed the varied menu that was perfect for the adults, and OK for the child (cubes of chicken or prawn appetisers, plus salad and pita bread).
Good Pakistani food. we had a bottle of wine (Sauv Blanc from Aussie), dinner for 3 and 2 deserts for less than 100 pounds (incl service).. so not bad for London. It was steps from our hotel, the Hyatt Churchill.
I would recommend for either adults or adults with older children.
Outstanding flavors and textures !. This restaurant a short walk from the Marble Arch tube is a beautifully designed Pakistan/Indian delight. Our teen enjoyed the spiceyness of the tandoori chicken as well as the combinations of sweet and tart in the two salads we sampled, one with tamarind sauce, pomegranate seeds yogurt and chick peas with lamb samosas. We couldn't get enough on our short week in London. The service was terrific and the cleanliness at the table and in the loo was remarkable. The owner has his eye on the details.
Zayna is a great find in this part of Marylebone where there aren’t that many good eateries. It is hidden away on one of the backstreets of Marble Arch and behind the Churchill Hotel where the amazing Locanda Locatelli is.
I have been to this place a couple of times and never once have I been disappointed by it. The food is excellent and is cooked to perfection. The service is pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm and friendly. The ambience is great as well and thus, I would surely recommend this place to those who have not tried it yet.
This place has some wonderful dishes to offer. The melange of flavours, vegetables and ingredients that they offer is just incredible! They toast the bread and then fill it with lettuce, tomato, pickle and falafel. Adding chilli sauce and covering it with garlic they have the most delicious flavors to dive into! There is also a bar opposite! A must try !
We enjoyed our meal here very much. The menu was quite varied and seemed to have everything you would ask for. It had quite the perfect choices for adults but not so much for children. The Pakistani food is quite nice here. We ordered a wine and had dinner and desserts, which left us completely full for less than a hundred pounds. I would call it quite reasonably priced. Recommended.
One of my friends has been raving about this place for months, and has already visited this place five times. So, on his suggestion, I decided to visit this place a couple of days ago and understood why he was so fascinated about the place. The dishes I ordered tasted delicious and the staff was quite friendly too.
I really liked this place a lot for its amazing interiors and gorgeous decor, in fact the decor seems very tasteful and the owner's passion is evident. Another important advantage is that the restrooms are just very incredible! The service too was very efficient and great. Talking about the food, i would say the taste was simply amazing.
I recommend trying the tandoori chicken and the salads here, they are smashing! I wish i was a local.
This place is a real find and a rockstar place in this part of the country where there ain't many good eateries. This place is tucked behind a hotel and is hidden from the mains. The place has great selections to offer, advantage of being on of the leading and much potential to grow!
This place serves amazing Pakistani cuisine and has been in operation for about seven years now. The main hall that is located on the street level has a very quirky and eclectic decor. The walls are adorned with oriental, the sofas are mismatched and huge and there are huge gilded mirrors all around. The menu is really nice and extensive and serves lots of tasty Indian and Pakistani cuisine.
This place offered a very average meal to us, tolerable at best. The food is quite expensive and might just be called overpriced for the quality offered, though it is quite good. The service is average, and the staff is fairly attentive and prompt. The location of this place, however, works in its favour as it is very convenient to reach it.
Visiting this place on a sunday evening, we did expect the crowd. The restaurant was almost full but glad we got seated immediately. Coming to the menu, the selections were limited and we asked for a customized dish. The amicable and accommodating staff did make us a perfect rich spicy curry! Definitely revisiting!
I specially came to the city to celebrate my birthday at this restaurant. I have been here quite a few times and have been impressed with their food every time. We arrived here at the time of our reservation but were still not seated. It took some time to get a table. However, after that, the service was okay. The food was quite great though. Worth a try for the amazing food.
I came to this amazing and superb Pakistani place for the second time yesterday, and we were as impressed as the previous time. The staff is all really nice and amiable and they are very well-versed with their menus. They always stress on the fact that the spices put in our food are all ground fresh and recent, and they add no extra preservatives. The food was of the highest quality, and it was amazingly flavourful and yummy.
I always eat at this place when I want Indian food, and decided to go to some new place this time, And it was wonderful. Found a new Indian place to eat when I'm in town the next time. Lovely food and service here. A memorable experience.
I know for sure i will return to this place! I am a curry aficionado and have tasted almost all the amazing places known for the curries and take it from me, they serve one of the most premium quality ever! The portion size are quite good and the flavors in beautiful harmony. The curries had the most appropriate level of hotness. Go try!
The food here is absolutely delectable, though a little expensive. However, I can still say that the flavours of the food made it extremely great value for money. The staff here is quick, efficient and very attentive. I would like to thank them for the great service. The atmosphere is wonderful and all the people in my party enjoyed their time here a lot. We will definitely be returning.
Whenever we are in the city, we have dinner at this place without fail. We visited this place again last night and had the most sumptuous and delicious Indian and Pakistani spread there ever was. The ambiance was lively and relaxed as usual, and the staff was all really attentive and nice. The food was amazing, delicious and exquisite. It was a really nice experience that we had.
I had a wonderful time dining at this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and very delicious and appetizing. The food is a bit overpriced though, but the quality of food completely justifies the price. The spiced prawns are a must-have here. The wine selection is also quite extensive. I would definitely recommend it.
We went to this restaurant after much recommendations and we were very happy with our experience. The atmosphere at the restaurant is both lively and fun. The food was delicious. the staff is competent and attentive. Our server made several suggestions and made us order mango salad which was a treat.
Zayna is a hidden gem! My dining experience there was absolutely delightful. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.
The food was a true culinary adventure. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I couldn't get enough of the mouthwatering cuisine. The taste was out of this world, and the lamb chops were so tender and flavorful.
The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal - the Kulfi was the best I've ever had!
Zayna has become my go-to spot for a taste of the Mediterranean. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. I'll definitely be returning soon!
Amazing institution to discover North-Indian and Pakistani cuisine. I would definitely recommend for an intimate dinner
My favorite Indian restaurant from my most recent trip to London. The Lahore Chunai (similar to chana masala) was excellent — especially loved the sautéed onions added as a garnish. Plenty of well labelled vegan and vegetarian options. Look forward to returning on my next trip.
I ordered chana chaat and chicken biryani with punjabi samosas and honestly I cannot explain how well the food was made. The biryani was aromatic and full of flavour, it was very different from the usual commercial biryanis you buy from most resturants. The chaat was delicious and the plum/tarminard sauce was just perfect - again, it didn't taste like a commercial Imli sauce, it's very unique and flavourful! The service was 10/10 and I will definately be visiting again!!
Zayna keeps me happy. From the Pappdi with chutney starter and the Dal soup I’m on a roll. Then chicken tikka masala, Gobi Aloo and Saag Lamb, yum. Tried the Kulfi tonight, very nice with the recommended Muscat. Thank you Sean!
Far and away one of my favorites in London. I’ve been visiting Zayna for many years when I’m in the city and no matter how long it’s been they greet me like family. Truly a home away from home.
The restaurant location is very convenient and is just 10 minutes walk from Marble Arch underground.
We were in a party of ten guests including children to enjoy the evening meal one Friday evening in August. The seatings were comfortable and the staffs showed great patience in spite of some of us were late arrivals by up to 49 minutes!
Overall food tasted good but the Naan breads were not succulent and soft but hard and partially burnt - definitely not a good value for money @ £4 a piece! The food arrived in good time and was served at right temperature. The Malbec Red was excellent and fresh tasting - it tasted better than the red from when we were in Mendoza, Argentina a few years ago! The service was fast.
The ambience of the restaurant was great especially in the evening with the outdoor seating and the enclosure on the pavement.
Would I visit the place again - most probably yes!

I eat here every time I come to London! The food is really fresh which is not true of most Indian restaurants. The flavors are also excellent. Try the Kutchoomer salad. Amazing, simple. We haven’t had anything on the menu that I wouldn’t recommend.
The wait staff is wonderful and helpful with their recommendations. Today we got there and met Riz the owner. As expected, he cares about his food, clientele, and staff. I have traveled the world and as far as Pakistani / North Indian Zayna is by far the best. High end food but no air of stuffiness here. Good people making really exceptional food for a wonderful experience.
This was an evening that didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and brilliantly prepared and presented. The website was true to it's word. The waiters could not do enough for us. Will definitely visit again when we are in town.
Had dinner here, 3rd time I have eaten at this restaurant.
Easy to get seated without a reservation during evening hours mid week. Has only been full once (during new years) when we could not get seated without a reservation.
The service is excellent, no issues at all and very attentive. Also very friendly and appreciative of your business.
Have had a variety of dishes, and can honestly say it is some of the best Indian food I have had. Very flavorful, perfect spice level without overpowering. For two people, an appetizer and a couple dishes with Naan to share is plenty.
It is a bit pricey as compared to many other Indian restaurants. We paid £120 for two of us, however this included 4 glasses of very good wine! However this would not dissuade me from returning.
Would I go there again…most definitely!
Would I recommend…absolutely!
We happened to be staying around the corner and passed by earlier in the week. We noted that the restaurant looked lovely from the street and that it might be a spot for dinner one night. Well, tonight was the night.
What was a chance encounter ended up as the most satisfying Indian meal we've had. The room is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The service was attentive and timely without being rushed. But the food was outstanding!
The two of us shared a lamb and spinach dish and a paneer with peas and tomato sauce. Both were delightful, fresh, perfectly spiced. Served with amazing Basmati rice,
super long grains and cooked to perfection. Even the naan was amazing. Thin and crisp and chewy.
Altogether a great night as we come to the end of our British holiday.
A lovely restaurant that I almost accidentally found via Opentable while in the area - I wouldn’t have noticed it from the street or ventured in otherwise. Interesting menu, I felt a a bigger company would have helped to try more dishes, so definitely coming back. Nice service. Cocktails are ok - but then this type of restaurant is not supposed to be about cocktails anyways.
Zayna Restaurant in London is an absolute delight! The flavors of India and Pakistan come alive in every dish. The warm ambiance, attentive service, and exceptional cuisine make it a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Had a nice dinner with a friend, enjoyed the fish starter and the mix grill main. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
I loved the food!! Super super tasty and the waiters were so nice! My friend and I will recommend this to everyone! We got a vegetarian dish and a lamb dish with pilau garlic rice and normal naan. Delicious
A Pakistani restaurant, this is our second visit to it after 4 years to London. Spices are little different from Indian restaurants and this gives you different experience.
Go for Dal soup as number 1 choice with the mango salad for new experience 😌.
The chicken Karahi is always delicious, take it with garlic naan and also rice.
A beautiful location, service was superb, and the butter chicken was absolutely delicious. Will definitely revisit on next trip to London.
Great family run restaurant. The food was okay but not the greatest I’ve had. It is good for the area. The service was excellent and I felt looked after. It has a warm family feel although the decor is confusing. The selection of food and beverages is what you would expect.
