Reviews Brasserie Joel

We had a lovely stay here when we were in London and at Joel's the breakfast buffet was pretty limited as compared to the Marriott's and Hyatt's, but that didn't really disappoint. Every single item we ate was delicious. Special mention about their creamy scrambled eggs and their apple danish pastry and pain au chocolat.

It’s hardly a romantic or tranquil setting, if that’s what you’re looking for, and once inside, it wasn’t not clear where to go. Thankfully I’d seen on the Web that the restaurant was on the 1st Floor, so I headed up the escalators. Here I spied a menu but I was also in the lobby of a hotel and there were no instructions about where to go next (Annie had the same problem). When I eventually found the Reception desk I couldn’t help laughing that finding them had been quite a challenge. However, it turned out to be a challenge well worth taking. For Brasserie Joel is most definitely a destination to be recommended.

Brasserie Joel is able to provide you with exceptional and extra-ordinary experience. Located 5 min away from Westminster Bridge, you have the chnce to enjoy an amazing London view.

The approximate amount you can pay for dining in is around £60, but that can go up with more consuming.

The interior is amazingly made and usually the staff at the bar are quite engaging. Since I love sushi, my favourite dish there with be the plate with different types of sushi.

Definitely recommend for trying in Central London.

We went to the Brasserie Joel for a birthday celebration back in June as a group of six. As soon as we walked in, the service was excellent, we felt very looked after. Our glasses were regularly topped up, food was excellent and it was fantastic value for money. I was really pleased and would definitely go again!

Very nice atmosphere. The menu have a good selection of choices. Me and my wife had the Beef bourguignon, and the kids had the burger from the kids' menu. Bothe was very good. The staff is very friendly. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

This meal was exceptionally good given i did not expect much on the first hand. The staff was friendly and checked on you every once awhile, the braised pork and the steak were nicely cooked. If they have set lunch i think i will come more often.

Hired a private room back in 2020 for a wedding meal. Wedding was cancelled twice due to Covid but the Brasserie Joel went above & beyond to make our day special this year We pre booked our meals which were lovely & the staff decorated our table to give it that added extra appeal. There was no charge for the private area & we were waited on with no issues. The set meals were a reasonable price however the wines were quite expensive but being a wedding & being in London we expected this. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a private function.

Came here for lunch as part of a company event as we where all staying at Park Plaza for the annual company Jamboree. The table had been booked and everyone had already pre-ordered their lunch weeks before, so it was no problem getting seated and all our orders came out at a brisk pace. Personally, I ordered a "Grilled and Marinated Courgettes" for starters, "Wild Mushrooms Tagliatelle" for the main and " Poached Pear" for dessert. \ The courgettes was especially well cooked, long enough to make it soft, but not so long that it retained some crunch. Despited the "grilled" in the description, I detected no hint of smokiness. There was plenty of garnish to go with the courgettes. Salad, pine nuts and (I think) teriyaki sauce. The sauce just forced open the sinuses, allowing the aroma of nutty sweetness of the pine nuts to mix with light sweet and tangy bitterness of teriyaki and the milder courgettes, waft into my senses. The tagliatelle follow, not quite as nice as the starter, but still nice. The sauce was a little marginally on the rich side for my personal preference, although it wasn't too noticeable once I got into my stride. There were a couple of small slices of sun blushed tomatoes that I felt was an unnecessary garnishment. I don't really feel that the sourness of tomatoes goes well with cream, but your milage may vary. The texture of the tagliatelle was just the way I like it. A soft firmness typical of fresh pasta. The mushrooms had a mild earthy aroma that complemented the sauce. Lastly came the poached pear for dessert. I love cooked fruits, but with minimal accompaniment to allow the natural sweetness of fruits to stand out. I could taste that poached pear had been cooked with honey, which made it a little too sweet for my personal tastes. Fortunately, the pear was accompanied with a lemon sorbet which helped to balanced out the sweetness. Actually the cold sorbet may have numbed my senses a little as well. On the topic of sweet desserts, about ten of my colleagues had ordered a creme brûlée for their dessert. Only one managed to finish it, with the others commenting that it was too sweet. I had a taste myself and could confirm that it was. At the very end of the meal, just as the everyone had pretty much finished their desserts, the plates had begun to be cleared away, the bill was presented. Before anyone had even asked! A little too quickly to be polite in my humble opinion. Overall I was very satisfied with my meal except for the overly brusqueness with which each course was served and the way it was ended. Something which I expect better from a restaurant located in a 4 star hotel. Secondly, the aforementioned problems with the desserts made this review a borderline 3 instead of a 4.

The service was very good and the food was very nice. Much nicer than we thought it would be. The setting is quite cool, but in need of a little touch up - the table surfaces, for example, are every so slightly blemished. However the food made up for it, all very good (although the beef was slightly under seasoned) and with a few surprising touches. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive either; definitely worth it. I don't say this often, even if I've liked a place, but I'd go again and soon.

We enjoyed a nice meal in Brasserie Joel this evening. We were quickly seated, and our orders taken by a nice young lady with a warm and friendly manner. It wasn't busy at 6pm and room temp and ambience was good. It was raining and we are staying in the hotel and didn't particularly want to go out in rainy weather! I'm glad we didn't. I had the Chilean Sav Blanc which was light and lovely so I enjoyed another! My husband enjoyed his Peroni Beer . We shared a French Onion Soup and it was a generous portion so I'm glad we did share. It was very enjoyable and served a just the right temperature. I recommend it. My husband had the Taglioni Pasta with fish and cream bisque, which we both liked. I had the Halibut with Mustard Mash. The mash was really, really good - It was so smooth! The halibut was a little bit over but very tasty and I enjoyed it nevertheless. I'd order it again. Our meal with drinks and service was under £90, and we both agreed it was a pleasant experience overall I'm really glad we stayed in!

Excellent service & wonderful staff. Horia and staff members went above and beyond for our evening dinner meal. We booked this resturant specifically for the bavette steak - the staff were attentive and kind enough to take note of our conversation during booking and saved the last steaks for the evening for our reservation. Cannot thank them enough! We look forward to visting again in the future.
