I started March pretty well, in terms of competition wins. On the first of the month, a Tweet popped up from The Punchbowl in Mayfair, telling me I’d won dinner for four. EPIC. As my parents were due a visit, I thought it’d be the perfect chance for me to treat them for a change (as usually, it’s definitely the other way round. The student in me lives on).

I don't think I would have found this pub without looking up pubs in the area as it's on a back street that I had never been to before. Luckily I believe that is true for many other people who seemed to overcrowd the other pubs on the main roads of the area, leaving this little gem with lots of space for me and my boyfriend to find a table.

The interior is quite dark, with wooden decor and enough light to create a nice atmosphere but not light up the room. There was a good selection of beers and the staff were very polite.

The treatment from them was more like something you'd expect at a restaurant (someone to greet you and find you a seat) and they even brought the drinks to our table because they had to change the barrel and they didn't want to us to stand waiting at the bar.

They also asked us if everything was all right and said good night at the end. I must say, after all the pubs and bars I've been to where you wait ages to get served and the staff are too busy to notice anyone this was a welcome change.

I think it's a great place for a group or a couple of people to go have some quiet drinks and catch up when they don't want a big night out but still want to be somewhere central. Definitely a good find and I'd be happy to go back.

Guy Ritchie's pub. Great Ceviche, sausages (made from
Allen's of Mayfair meat) and pan fried Bavette steak. Good atmosphere, very busy on
weekday evenings.

The food was really good. I had the Beef shin & oyster pie with mashed. Came with broccolini and a side of Gravy. Delicious with quality pieces of beef inside the pie and an oyster on top. Paired nicely with a pint of cider. Restaurant could use some updating, but it has been around for several hundred years, so in line with authenticity.

Just an amazing pub! Excellent staff, excellent drinks and excellent food. The Old Fashion and Espresso Martini are the best we’ve ever had. They take pride in their pub and it shows.

It was our 51st anniversary and we had a great meal and the staff was wonderful. Excellent fish and chips and the Guinness was wonderful! Highly recommend this pub!

Great atmosphere and not your traditional pub food. Each dish was tasty, decent portion sizes (the fish was massive), and great prices for the quality. Found this place while looking for somewhere near to my hotel while in Mayfair and glad we went. Both the barman and manager were lovely. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

📍41 Farm St, London W1J 5RP 🚇 Green Park 🍺 £6.70 Heineken ❤️ One of Mayfair’s oldest pubs. . The Punchbowl is located on a quiet backstreet in the heart of Mayfair. The nearest tube is Green Park, Bond Street tube is similar distance to get here. . This Georgian pub is one of the oldest in pubs in Mayfair and was built around 1750. There is celebrity attached to this pub, Guy Ritchie & Madonna famously bought this pub back in 2008. The pub became renowned for the celebs that frequented here and raucous parties that ensued. . The decor here is traditional, even though the pub has been altered several times over the years, the pub retains many of its original features. Throughout this cosy boozer are oak panels cladding the walls and a stripped oak floor from front to back. There is a period fireplace and a map of Mayfair on the ceiling. There is a mid-sized servery and a secluded booth at the rear, all this combined makes this a seductive environment. . The beer choice won’t blow your socks off but was decent enough. I ordered a Heineken from the very nice member of staff, my pint was great but cost just under £7. There is a gastronomic British food menu including roasts on a Sunday, Fish & Chips costs £19.95. On the upper floors are dining rooms and a members club. . I arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday and the pub was calm and chilled. I found a nice ledge opposite the bar to perch on and take stock of my surroundings. There were a few small groups in attendance including young and old punters and visitors from across the pond. The soundtrack was soothing downtempo chillout music which set a nice tone. . The @punch_bowl_mayfair is a cosy and intimate pub that welcomes one and all. The food is not your average pub grub and the beer was good if a bit pricey, but this is Mayfair. This would be a great spot for date night or to just chill with a friend. Madonna had plenty of hits over the years, this pub was definitely a hit with me. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 14/01/23
