Historic little pub with great atmosphere inside. Mixer between people eating and just drinking. Not too many tables. Good selection of lagers available and priced as you would expect for the centre of London. Sunday dinners looked very nice.
We were wondering past, saw this and it looked tiny - it opens out when you get in. Had a nice pint while the wife tasted some of the gin (they have a few!) It has a lot of character, and it had a nice atmosphere - could have stayed all day!!
Best pub fish and chips I've ever eaten. Batter was crispy, fish was soft. The battery didn't once go soggy. Chips were like proper home chopped and cooked chips. Didn't leave feeling heavy, left feeling satisfied. It was just delicious.

The name is a perfect description of the establishment. A hole in the wall tavern that offers quality food and drink. The fish and chips were amongst the best I had on my trip to the UK.

Been here quite a few times for after work for drinks. The staff are always lovely and we've always found a table. Really nice atmosphere.
I learnt about this pub whilst watching a history documentary and decided I wanted to go. So pleased I made the effort. Lovely atmosphere and if gin is your drink of choice you will be spoilt. They do a decent pint and I will be returning to have a few more.
Stopped in on the off chance for a swift drink and really glad we did. Excellent selection of drinks and the owner (I think) really knew his stuff. Sold me on a little known gin from South Africa with tea in it and it was delicious.
Will definitely be back.
Hidden little gem - deceptively large once you walk through the entrance laneway. Very nice decor and atmosphere inside, looking forward to going back on Tuesdays to give the quiz a try!

Friendly welcome, clean venue and nice atmosphere. Real ale choice was limited to one beer, but these are difficult times for London pubs and the Hophead they had from Dark Star was fine. Everything felt professionally managed.
Found this little gem by surprise and is now my new favourite! Vibrant atmosphere with cool music. A small but varied menu, with a variety of drinks. Brilliant, friendly service from all members of staff.
I stayed in London for 7 days and went to 18 pubs and/or taverns. The Punch Tavern was by far the best food and drink experience I had since arriving in the country. I had the Beef Sunday roast, and well, it was the best meal I’ve had in London….. nothing else was even close.

Old Gin Palace serving great selection of Gin cocktails by friendly bar staff. Didn't eat there, so no food rating. Why not 5 stars? It just doesn't feel very special.

Excellent pub with tasty food for a decent price (with London standards in mind) and an amazing service. I really enjoyed the fish and chips here. It also is a very good spot, if you are doing a bit of London tourism and want to avoid overcrowded and expensive places. Highly recommend! :)
