Reviews Cote Brasserie - Charlotte Street

Given the usual prices for a dinner in London, Cote represents value.

We dined from the prix fixe menu and received tasty food and prompt competent service. My only complaint would be that for me the sound level was high but its never their fault if the streets turn busy.

I visited this branch of Côte with a friend for dessert late-afternoon on a weekday. The only other tables were three or four groups finishing off long-overrun lunches. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive and allowed my friend and I to choose a table.

There was no problem with us only wanting dessert and our waitress made recommendations as to her favourites and was patient with us while we deliberated. We were also very impressed that although she was coming to the end of her shift, she showed us the same standard of service as if it were her first table of the day and did not attempt to rush us or make us feel a nuisance.

To eat, my friend chose the crème brûlée and I the crêpe, and we drank English Breakfast tea. The desserts were delicious - mine had crisp caramelised banana, a warm dark chocolate sauce and a chantilly cream and the brûlée was well-flavoured and cracked well in the style of Amélie.

For a quiet afternoon tea this branch of Côte was delightful. The only thing I would recommend is to leave before the 5pm dinner go-ers start to trickle in, as it got busy very quickly on our visit and we felt a little forgotten when trying to pay our bill and our waitress had left.

Excellent food at very affordable prices. Large gluten free menu. Friendly service. Would recommend the belly pork. Crème caramel was the best we ever had. Staying in London for three days for work and we went there every evening. Could not fault.

Nice food and fast service, great option for a business lunch during the week. They have a la carte, a prestige menu and pre-theatre set menu. We went for the prestige and everything was good. My only critic is that fresh orange juice didn’t seem very fresh though.

Love the servers and the atmosphere. Food arrived in good time. I had the calamari and it was very good. My colleagues had soup and another had the pate. The para was to-die-for. My steak was done as requested (medium). Delicious. I could easily have had another. The sides of spinach and green beans perfectly complemented the main. Chips were good although I prefer them chunky. Nice prices too - £25/person. Only downside was the space. I felt really hemmed in because space is limited.

Part of a chain of mid-price cafe/restaurants that are very good value and quality. Excellent choice of dishes and wines. Set lunch and set early dinner is very good value. Very nice breakfast/brunch. Nice place to sit and have coffee or a meal. Good friendly service. This branch can get busy so maybe booking is good idea at peak times.

As a group of seven we were given a lunch time table upstairs. While this was accommodating we were the only people upstairs so the atmosphere was a little lacking. Fortunately we weren't forgotten about though and the waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Food was served quickly and although ordered from the lunch time deals menu came in sizeable portions. The mussel starter was really tasty and came with a bowl of iced lemon water for your fingers! Seafood linguine main had a decent amount of seafood in and again was tasty. Overall a smart place and decent value for the money.

Good food, great since it is a chain. If you sign up for their email and then book a table through their website you can get a free bottle of wine. Good steaks, cooked nicely, enjoyed the garlic butter.

Had a very nice dinner. The menu is pretty varied with a few salad options, and a bunch of meat and fish options. The atmosphere was great, service was very good. The beer selection is very limited but plenty of wine options. There is a vegetarian menu you can ask for (but very few vegan options).

Friendly attentive service from well presented staff. Lovely set menu, great value and delicious food. I didn’t expect this from a chain restaurant. Bathroom facilities need improving. Will recommend will return.

I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but was pleasantly surprised. The food was really nice (I had squid starter, steak main, tart au citron dessert). It was generous sized portions, infact I couldn't finish them all and our waiter was excellent. He was attentive, funny and even helped us choose a lovely wine from the menu, it wasn't even the most expensive bottle which means we had a few! All in all a great place to eat, drink and have a great time!
