After hearing that this was one of the top 3 burger joints in London, we decided to give it a try. The burger options are simple. We had the recommended beef burger and fries. It was worth the visit.

Not disappointing at all! The burger was juicy and delicious. Steak was tender and so tasty. Everything blended very well on the first bite. Not my favourite bread so without the bernaise sauce, I'd give it 4 stars. After combining with the bernaise, I had to give it 4.5 stars. The sauce matched with the steak and the cheese it even doubled the creamy taste of the whole eating experience.

The burgers where just mind blowing and juicey. The extra condiments available were a perfect dash of personalisation you can do yourself. The sweet potato fries are a must. French fries portions are huge so there is more then enough for everyone. Must try

My friends and I had spent a good part of our two years in London trying nearly all the available burger places. We'd have discussions over our favourites and disagreements. It started off with the grimey MEATliquor, had extended to Honest Burgers in Brixton, Lucky Chip in Broadway Market, various Byron Burgers, an unexciting visit to GBK (other than the free peanuts), the new Shake Shack, the rumours of Five Guys, my own experience near Shoreditch with a pop-up of Burger Bear, and most recently my friends' recommendations of Patty & Bun, and the one I never managed to get to in Dirty Burger. Gee that's a lot.

I do love a good stroll through the cute streets of Marylebone, especially when it involves an awesome burger. A block or so down from Patty & Bun is Tommi’s Burger Joint, and it is better, by far. The burgers are luscious and juicy with a patty that is well seasoned and flavoursome. Ugly, dented and greasy Tommi knows what a burger aficionado likes.

I love the concept of this place, the decorations are really nice too. The burger is amazing but I wouldn't go as far as saying its the in London (written in the Independent). You don't have a huge choice on the menu, 3/4 burgers to choose from with a couple of add ins, and so I had the steak burger with cheese bacon and fries. The price quickly went up. The burger is really small so why does it get that expensive? I'd prefer going to other places but Tommi's was well worth a try

Marylebone High Street is a real hidden gem in my opinion. I love to meet friends around here for drinks or dinner as there is always a nice buzz but it’s not rammed like the rest of London is! Maybe it shows I’m getting old, but I like to be able to grab a seat to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a long day and not queue for an hour for a table to eat my dinner at.

Located on Thayer Street, just a few minutes from Oxford Street and just before Marylebone High Street is Tommi’s Burger Joint. Tommi’s is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat and a very affordable option too. You just rock up , grab a seat and decide from the simple menu what to order. There is always a special up on the board too. You grab your drink from the cabinet and go up to the counter to order.

Your burger comes to the table all wrapped up in a basket with your fries. I just went for a simple cheese burger which came medium and was nice and juicy and very flavourful. And for condiment lovers out there – of which I am one – they have the best selection to compliment your beautiful burger. Like all the condiments. So bonus points there. Also, very nice staff and cool music. A burger, fries and soda for £9.90 is really very good value too!

On May 1st I had the opportunity to enjoy the May Burger of the Month, 'The Englishman'. It is definitely delicious, but my husband ordered the Epic Double Steak Burger with Cheese, and it is AMAZING! He gave me a few bites because of its ginormous size, and because I was practically drooling all over him as he ate it. Tommi's Burger Joint lives up to its name in that it's a no frills, simple restaurant solely focussed on great burgers. I have a full review and tons of pictures on my blog, Sunny in London. It's a juicy read, for sure!

PRIDE OF REYKJAVIK. Stripped down to the bare essentials, but everything is there at this outpost from mid-Atlantic. Succulent steakburger and fries, any condiment you can think of, and a participatory atmosphere (everything and everyone in the kitchen is on view). Friendly servers. Very popular, so go early.

Ate here on a Saturday afternoon. Super engaging waiters, super simple concept in a very easy going space. My steak burger was delicious! All the meat but none of the hyperbole of a certain overrated meaty neighbour.

The restaurant lends itself to a young and hipster vibe with the black walls and the incandescent holiday lights suspended from the ceilings. I mean..... This hipster ambience is kinda cool but it's getting quite old now because so many restaurants are trying to experiment with this type of atmosphere. This is quite ironic considering the fact that adjective 'hipster/ indie' should signify individuality but it's becoming more and more generic .

In a lost London post of sorts I visited the Marylebone branch of Tommi’s Burger Joint some time back. It has a growing following and has recently opened a second branch on Kings Road. On the way we walked past Patty and Bun, another cult burger joint, with a sizeable queue outside in the punishing cold swarms of Winter. Thankfully there was no queue at Tommi’s but there were plenty of people waiting inside, half for tables and half for takeaways. The open kitchen gives full view of the burgers being cooked on the grill as well as letting the meatiness waft through the venue. The menu is a simple affair with a few burgers on offer and limited extras. We opted for the ‘Offer of the Century’ consisting of a cheeseburger, fries and can of pop for £10.50. Having paid we waited about ten minutes before pouncing on the vacated window bar seats. The food was served soon after and we were quite underwhelmed at first. The burger arrived wrapped fast food style with similar fries to the golden a

Tommi’s Burger Joint is burger restaurant that originally comes from Iceland (there are many Tommi’s Burgers restaurants now in Iceland) and now Tommi’s has also come to London. Tommi’s started as a pop up in Marylebone last summer and operated there for a few months. I went there for a burger and really enjoyed it. A few months later it closed, as they had always planned, and then a few months ago they opened a permanent restaurant on Marylebone High Street. In case you are wondering who is Tommi, like my boyfriend was, when he entered the restaurant, Tommi is a now a very old Icelandic man (there was a picture of him in the restaurant which you can see in my pictures below) who started the burger empire in Iceland. Needless to say, he was not hanging around the Marylebone branch. The restaurant looks very similar to the pop up, almost exactly the same,

So the final verdict. I'm still unsure whether there is room for yet another burger in the London overcrowded burger scene. Morever, with a higher price point than most street food version, will people be willing to pay premium price for the same top quality burger which you can now find in lots of street food venue such as Eat Street, Berwick Street etc. And even with an excellent burger offering like Tommi's Burger Joint, it still remain to be seen.

Tommi’s has now relocated from its original pop-up site to a permanent location is Marylebone. The open kitchen gives a complete view of the handiwork going on in the kitchen space, as well as allowing the juicy smells to waft through the restaurant. Paired down wooden chairs, tables and bar seats line the windows of this fairly small restaurant, which provides enough seats for everyone apart from during the lunch hour rush. Unlike some of the other burger venues in this area, Tommi’s attracts a range of diners, including families and suited office workers. This must be due to the light décor and helped by the fairy lights.

...there’s something about the Burger Joint that keeps drawing me back for more. No queues. At all. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really make sense to queue for 30 to 40 minutes to be able to enjoy a decent burger. And that’s what’s brilliant about Tommi’s. With all the hype and buzz surrounding its more famous neighbours, Tommi's goes quietly under-the-radar while making some pretty darn good burgers.

For many years, this spot was occupied by a Greek restaurant, which last had a customer in 1969. I never saw anyone enter or leave, other than the ancient Cypriot waiters for whom it was clearly a second home. Either that or it had to be a front for some sort of dodgy operation. Whatever it was, the inexorable march of the modernisers at the Howard de Walden Estate meant that its days were numbered. It’s now the northernmost point of the Burger Triangle, with Patty & Bun and MeatLiquor just a mere stroll away. All very good. All very different. Last time I came here the queue was snaking down the road. I gave up after ten minutes, given that there was no visible sign of movement and C was sporting the face

I like this place. It has a simple, indie feel to it – you’d pop in for a burger and pop off just as quickly, but far more contented. The area around Selfridges has always been a little weak on the food and drink front. The best of Marylebone is a trek away, St. Christopher's Place is chain-heavy, and until Workshop you couldn’t get a decent coffee for miles.

The quality of meat here is excellent! Their fries are also superb. However the venu is very small so during busy times seating may be hard to come by. The last time I visited tommi's the quality deteriorated slightly...hopefully it was just a bad day for them.

My friend came down to visit and insisted that we try Tommi's burgers as she had heard amazing reviews about the burger. I have to say it did not disappoint - if you are in central London and after a good burger then definitely give it a try.

It has a nice laid back vibe with brick walls, wooden tables and open kitchen where you can see everything that is going on. My friend and I managed to snag stools by the window to watch people go by. We both also went for the burger, fries and juice deal which was very reasonable. The burgers were delicious as were the fries! My friend went for a normal burger while I had cheese which was amazing and all melted on the burger which is the way I like it. Another plus for the burgers that there wasn't too much bun to burger ratio. On each table there was a sauce collection so no matter what you were in the mood to dip your chips in they had it. I'll definitely be back!

Tommi’s is a very quick and easy option for a delicious burger. You have the choice of sitting outside on the wooden benches or inside; we sat outside as the rest was full. Apart from the slightly wobbly table, my two friends and I had a great time.

Being a huge burger fan, I was in my element. I ordered the burger, fries and soda combo with bacon for £11.50. Great value for money and the burger was ready relatively quickly. You have to order at the counter and seating is open – similar to Shake Shack.

The food comes in mini basket with the burger and fries. Cool and casual presentation that’s perfect for the vibe of the restaurant. The fries were thin and crispy, and the burger had a nice soft bun with a juicy patty. A range of sauces are available at the counter, I went for the BBQ and mayo to dip my fries in. Will definitely be returning!

Right after Meat Liquor and Patty & Bun opened up in Marylebone; another burger joint started making waves on the High Street: Tommi’s Burger Joint. I still swear allegiance to the juicy Dead Hippie Burger at Meat Liquor and I adore the chicken wings at Patty & Bun but there’s something about the Burger Joint that keeps drawing me back for more.

No queues.

No lengthy queues - the most you'd have to wait is about 5 minutes. You can’t say the same for Patty & Bun – which is packed anytime I walk past it on Christopher’s Lane and sometimes you’re just not in the mood for Meat Liquor's grungy dive bar atmosphere.

At Tommi’s Burger Joint, you can stroll in and get a nice succulent cheeseburger with crispy fries and all the pickles and hot sauces and add-on’s you want (they have an immense selection at the counter), find a seat right there and get instant meaty burger gratification.

What's not to like about that? :)

Great location, great prices, great burgers (easy choice).

What first attracted me to this place was the long line of people, patiently waiting to order their burger. We decided to join the queue, and see what the fuss was about.

Once you finally get inside, you're welcomed with the aroma of frying burgers, wine and all the perfume that everyone around you is wearing (a very inviting smell). The little joint was packed with people, there was nowhere to sit so we decided to get takeaway. All my friends took the typical burger with additional cheese and bacon, and I asked for the same but without the bun. Despite the place being full we found a little corner to wait in, and it wasn't long until we all had a nice baggy filled with food.
When we finally got home we were all starving, as the smell in the restaurant was so powerful we just could not wait to bite into the burger.

As you expected...it was very good. The quality of the meat was great, it was not too dry (the common mistakes in burgers), and apparently the bun was not the main character in this meal (very often the buns are so big you can barely taste the inside- here that was not the case). We additionally got some free pickles and sauces with the meal and were all satisfied. A great little discovery.

If the queue outside MEATLiquor seems a little shorter at the moment then that might be due to a new player in town… The Icelandic King of burgers.

Literally around the corner, Tommi’s Burger Joint is adding fuel to the fire that is the capital’s insatiable appetite for a decent slab of beef in a bun. As soon as we walked into this tiny 25 cover American style burger diner, we immediately felt at home. Of course it had the obligatory London restaurant industrial feel but with a slight little twist, the menu short and the air was thick with the smell of grilled course ground beef steak.

Loved the old movie posters on the wall and a Radiohead poster made Saff’s day (she’s easily pleased!) Had their music been playing it would have been the perfect combo. Tomas ‘Tommi’ Tómasson was there in person, he’s the man who introduced the modern burger to his home country of Iceland and boasts to have had a burger everyday for the last 8 years! Tommi says ‘If you don’t like it you don’t have to pay, you’re not coming here for a bad burger’. I can’t imagine this happens often.

He has five branches of Tommi’s in Reykjavik and has brought his expertise over to the UK, and we’re damn happy that he did… The staff are proud of their burgers and almost insisted that we went for the basic, even though the Steak Burger with cheese and béarnaise, at £8.95, is £3.65 more expensive.

Saff did as she was told and ordered the ‘Offer of the Century’, a burger, fries and a can of soda all for £8.90, bargain! While I have the same but with cheese – well worth the extra 50p.

We perched on our stools at the high tables and waited for our burgers to arrive. wished that the milkshakes were available (a little opening day hiccup!), apparently the coffee shakes are incredible. So I grabbed myself a free filter coffee instead.

Now were do I start? The buns were light yet firm, soaking up just enough juice so not to go soggy and limp. Just enough ‘salad’ (lettuce, red onion and tomato) so not to fall out everywhere and a medium cooked patty grilled to perfection. Saff always takes out her tomato but felt it really worked this time.

Just enough char on the outside and pink and juicy in the centre… The meat is carefully selected from butcher H G Walter in West London and cooked over an American gas grill. The chips are nice n’ crispy too and are delicious when dipped in Tommi’s Burger Joint’s cocktail sauce, 50p a pot. And so you vegetarians don’t feel left out, they have a decent looking veggie burger, £5.30.

As disgusting as it may be, you really can’t beat the sound of the drip, drip, drip of burger fat on your grease-proof paper. It means you’ve got a really good burger in your hand. We both found ourselves savouring the last mouthful, not wanting it to end.

When we visited we really weren’t expecting such a good burger, but we can honestly say it’s one of the best we’ve ever had. Create the hype people… Create the hype, you never know next time we visit there might be a queue snaking around the corner!

I definitely want to compare this joint to MEATliquor or Patty&Bun so I really have better Idea of who it's up against. I went there with a friend at about 12:30 on a Sunday so it wasn't really busy and we got good service as well as a nice atmosphere. The first thing I have to say is that their Icelandic beer is GREAT! really a must. Other selections are Peroni and Brooklyn Lager.
I had to go all the way and ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries while my friend went for the plain burger, needless to say we were both impressed by the short wait and the quality of the ingredients. Of course I must say they could have been more generous with the salad onion etc topping but I guess that's not their business model, they go for the quality fast food rather than the great topped burger. Fine with me!
The patty was nicely cooked not rare and not overdone, just perfect for a burger: medium with some pink in the center. The fries were also a nice addition, thin, not greasy (probably because the oil was very fresh! having gotten there soon after they opened) and abundant. All in all I must say I was satisfied with my meal not only for the flavor etc but because we left feeling satisfied and not too full and heavy which is what you risk after eating a burger fries and a beer.
Can't wait to try it's competition though!
Total bill for Bacon Cheeseburger, fries and beer 14,50£ (Beer 4,50£)

These guys were quite brave - having the joint so close to MeatLiquor, a crowned item on the list of many burger afficianados. They aniled it tough, there is a buzz about the no-hassle delicacies of the place and it is well deserved. the steak burger has the cuts of high quality meat and the bernaise sauce sinks in slowly- not pricy, just around the average London price for the category 8-10 pounds.

Tommi's is one of my new favorites. Everything about it was appealing to me, including the decor...but maybe that's just because I love brick interiors! At first I was skeptical because I've been to so many places similar to this one in concept that served pretty dry burgers even though they prided themselves on "gourmet" burgers (*hint hint). But Tommi's was not like most others, in fact the patty wasn't even overcooked. The menu is very simple but don't let that fool you because it is that exact simplicity that is so winning.

I’ve been spacing out my burger visits based on the fact that a) I’ve been told I go to American diner places too often (f*ck you, you know who you are) and b) I’m off to Ibiza in 3 weeks & don’t fancy looking like a pre-comeback Gary Barlow on the beach.

Anyways, it’s time for some patty goodness. Tommi’s Burger Joint is nice and central so good for a mid-week meet with mates. It also happens to be excellent. The place is Big Apple all over; you could easily be walking into a cafe in East village. They even call it soda instead of pop.

If you’re a condiment slut get ready for an orgy. I’ve rarely seen such a bounteous array of sauces, pickles, mustards and relishes for your topping delectation. The recommended DIY special was horseradish with caramelised onion and it rocked.

A tenner gets you a cheeseburger, fries and a soft drink. I KNOW. I spent about seven quid the other day on lunch at Pret – AND it was gash.

The patties at Tommi’s are delicious. They’re pink and juicy, with a home-made feel to them that sits well with the NYC kitchen vibe. Fries are salty, crisp, and bear resemblance to potato in a previous life. They’re served in a basket big enough to fill The Mountain and The Hound in one sitting.

Tommi’s is definitely up there – I’m considering finding any job I can in Marylebone, making this my lunchtime haunt and succumbing to clogged arteries. Swings and roundabouts.

Casual place located in Marylebone. Very good burgers.
Tasty and Juicy.

Tommi’s Burger is a fine place for a lunch or a break if you happen to be around the area. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is quick. Prices are great and you will not spend more than 25 £ for two people. I ordered there a veggie burger which I suggest to every vegetarian because is very nicely made. It tasted very fresh and “salutary.” Also, they offer mini menus for kids and I think it is a sympathetic idea for large families and very useful for adults as well.

I recommend the place.

Final Verdict: COZY and EASYGOING

Would I Want Seconds?

The menu is insanely simple, with three types of burgers to choose from including burger, veggie burger or steak burger and the usual few sides such as fries, bacon and cheese. There are a few drinks but no desserts or cocktails.

All burgers are served with lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, ketchup and mustard. But there is also a large collection of free condiments on offer. These include pickles, caramelised onions and many bottles of hot, sweet, and spicy sauces.

Can I Afford Seconds?

I ordered the ‘Offer of the Century’ which included a burger, fries and soda for £9.90.

Individually the burgers cost £6.90, apart from the Steak Burger which is £8.90. The fries individually cost £2.75 so the offer is tempting and a fair price in comparison to the portion sizes.

Overall:

Tommi’s popularity means it is in the process of opening up restaurants in new locations such as Chelsea and Ear London. This demonstrates the universal appeal it has, even in the crowded London burger market.
With its simple menu, quick and friendly service and fair prices Tommi’s Burger Joint is a good option for a fast but satisfying meal.

Overall I was very Impressed. Tommi's manages to deliver a great burger experience. The environment is very laid back & relaxed opting for the order and pay at the counter approach. You're served quickly and the burger takes just the right amount of time to arrive. Neither the worryingly quick 'here's one I made earlier' or the GBK "are they catching my food? Why is it taking so long?" timescales. They get it just right. The menu is simple and succinct but usually there is a special on offer. Since it's the World Cup I opted for the 'Pele' which is a standard tommi's burger with a Brazilian twist. Hats off to the designer as the burger managed to be both satisfying and refreshing like a mojito and a burger combined! One massive plus was that on a hot and humid day in London the restaurant was the perfect temperature!

Located at the end of marylebone high street, this is a really cool burger place. It reminds me a lot of some of the burger joints in the US. The menu is very straight forward and simple - there is the burger, the cheese burger, the veg burger and the steak burger. And of course you can get the usual accompaniment of fries and drinks with your meal.

The quality of the burgers is excellent. The service is very quick and efficient - and the food does not disappoint at all. I would say the burgers are right up there along side the best I have eaten in London.

Tommi’s Burger Joint has finally opened In London. The renowned burger joint which started up in Iceland around eight years ago decided it was time to set up in the UK and sink its teeth into a city going through a food boom. One, which in ten years time is bound to make us all obese. Tomas Tomasson, the founder of Tommi’s has apparently eaten a burger every day for eight years, impressive, and he does not have an ounce of fat on him.

The restaurant, which squeezes in 25 covers with a large volume of customers opting for take-away is great news as there is no long hour wait for your food, no service charge and there is also an array of free condiments/pickles on offer to bulk out your burger, not that you would need to though. They even offer free coffee, which I wouldn’t want with my burger but is a great idea for take-away customers to sip on while they wait. But drink fast; there is no messing around here.

Unfortunately the premises has yet to receive their alcohol license, but do offer soft drinks and deliciously thick milkshakes. The menu is short and simple, ranging from the humble beef burger to a steak burger with cheese and béarnaise sauce. All the burgers come with lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, ketchup and mustard as standard but can be customised with the addition of bacon, pickles and oddly, cocktail sauce. With the menu being so small it means less mistakes, attention to detail and making sure those burgers come out medium rare, every time.

The best way to describe the chips would be ‘McDonald’s chips but with less salt’, a nice filler but lacking in flavour. The burger itself is again similar to a McDonald’s quarter pounder, but an improved version. Using a softer, fluffier bun, fresher salad (which hasn’t been heated in the microwave) and a ‘real’ burger. Tommi’s source their meat from the UK and is excellent quality, well put together and very juicy, the burger does lack slightly in the in seasoning department, pepper to be precise.

The five stars are based on the £10 cheeseburger meal deal, because as tragic as it sounds, that's a decent price for a quick lunch while at work in London. This is a branch of an Icelandic burger restaurant. I couldn't identify what was Icelandic about it. Perhaps it was the heavy metal inspired interior or the free filter coffee. It could also have been the library of free sauces lined up like a school year photo. If so, more restaurants need to be more icelandic, because Tommi's is getting more of my custom until they do so.

Really nice burgers. I tried their steak burger, viking fries, and sweet potato fries. All the food was good and very tasty. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The downside was the place was too crowded and tables were very closes to the next one. Also, I expected a bigger size of burger for the price which made the burger seemed to be overpriced.

Really pleased with this place. Lovely heavy metal and rustic style interior with plenty of seating. Menu was very clear and good prices. The staff were very kind in guiding you through the menu and there was vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the heavy metal burger medium hot with the Viking fries and a coconut milkshake. All were delicious. Loved the black bun burger with good quality beef. Fries were amazing. Be cautious the milkshake is very thick but good.I couldn’t finish it all so the staff were kind enough to take my leftovers and pack them for me to take home. Worth a visit.

Did you have not been here and like burgers, this should be on your to do list! These are great burgers, I mean seriously good burgers. Probably among the best I've ever tasted and I've tasted a lot of burgers. The services very good, the place is clean and the nice big windows give a good airy feel if you sit in the right place.

Absolutely the best burgers I’ve had in years. You can taste the handmade meat and fresh salads. The price is very reasonable too. I live over 100 miles away but come back here regularly. Definitely gourmet food for mc d’s prices.

I like the vegan burger from Tommi's. Friendly staff both here and at the Soho one. Kinda reminded me of when I worked at Grubbs burgers. One thing that I find a bit weird at a lot of places these days is when you order and pay for your meal you are asked to tip. I always thought a tip is for good food and friendly service etc, so it's weird being asked to tip before you get your food. Maybe next time I'll pay a tip for last time.

Popped in for a quick dinner as locals after a long time away due to trying other burger joints in the area… why did we ever stray away! Food was amazing but what made it better was the chat with Andria who talked us through the menu, made great recommendations and genuinely made what would be a regular casual dining experience memorable and really enjoyable. We will be back to see Andria soon with a classic for me whilst my partner recommends the steak!

Burger was great! Rated 4 because it wasn't anything extraordinary for me. If you are looking for a top notch standard burger, this spot will not fail you!

My boyfriend swears that these are the best burgers he’s ever had so I was reluctantly dragged along but I was pleasantly surprised, this place has really amazing burgers and a whole lot of character too. The menu is simplistic but it works so well, you could blindfold yourself and pick a menu item and it would still be gold, there’s no bad choices. The staff is super friendly and it’s a great place to just chill out and have a burger alone or with a friend.

This is a great burger joint. It is small and cozy but has really quick service. The burgers are juicy and cooked perfectly. The fries are always fresh and they have a great seasoning available, but you have to ask for it. They also have a selection of shakes and beers to go with the meal.

In baker at googled best burgers Tommie came up. 5 min walk and well worth it. Friendly service, quick food, good portion size. There was a best in world offer for lunch and who can dispute it, with some free dipping sauces thrown in. Well worth a visit!
