Sitting on 30 Portman square is the Hyatt regency-The Churchill; a 5 star luxury hotel is the heart of central London. Inspired by the late Winston Churchill and his wife Clementine, this bar is a memory of the 50's. To the classic art pieces hanging on the wall, the choice of available literature on the tables and bookshelves, this bar just oozes of war heritage.
My experience:
It is 5:01pm and that can only mean one thing, it is the end of the day, and work is finally over! Now it is time to unwind with one of my favourite drink choices- A Strawberry Daiquiri:) On this occasion, I chose to go to the Churchill lounge and Terrace, as I am forever in love with the things of the past and this Lounge bar definitely emphasises this.
If I am drinking, and then I am definitely eating! After many choices, I chose the Oysters (Divine!). The service was efficient, and the waiters gave some good recommendations- One which was a watermelon-based shot! Which you may regret in the morning, especially if have an 8:30am start! But hey, what’s the point of life if you are not living ;) Unfortunately we did not dine in the Terrace, has it was extremely cold and despite the heating, we opted to sit inside. However, if you are a smoker, and immune to cold weather, then dining outside is perfect for you.

Churchills is one of my favorite bars in London to relax in. If you want to spend several hours talking with close friends I'd highly recommend it. There is heating on the terrace along with blankets and heat pads. Tasty complimentary bar snacks of cheese straws and olives are top notch when compared to average bar snack fare.
The cocktail and cigar list are both extensive, while also being expensive. The cocktails here I find to be some of the most well prepared and interesting in all of London. The teapot cocktails are prepared tableside alongside a lengthy history lesson and explanation of the origins / creation process of the cocktail. If you're a drink snob or nerd you'd surely appreciate the attention to detail given to every drink here.
Best cigar lounge and bar in London. Haven't found better service, attention to detail, range of drinks with superlative staff knowledge about both cigars and cocktails anywhere else. Run to make you feel at home, no airs and graces and yet throughly classy. You can smoke in lots of places around London but here you feel totally welcome and the fact that Churchill himself sits at your table in bronze relief puts you in the right mood to 'light up' and down a cocktail. And to make it totally a 'slam dunk' the terrace food is outstanding and always with a seasonal twist. The Prawn Salad is simply superlative.

Alice in Wonderland fans will love the new revival of the much loved book, brought to life in the form of the Mad Hatter’s afternoon tea in the 5-star Hyatt Regency London hotel. Available until 8th September, the afternoon tea is held in the beautiful Montague restaurant, where all the best lines and phrases of the book are brought to life in food-form. Suits me to a T.
A very classy place, with an enticing cocktail menu. One cannot help but mix drinks, in an attempt to try as many cocktails possible. Definitely a place one would visit again and again, with very courteous staff and Daiquiris and Martinis to die for. Especially spent time going through the menu, which was a fun read other than just being an informative one.
An interesting experience for someone who doesn't usually visit hotel bars. A rich selection of alcoholic beverages and a very helpful service, combined with the dimly lit mahogany ambience create an authentic and comfortable feel to the place. I recommend experimenting with the beer menu, although it might be a bit pricey.
Perfect spot for a date night. One of the finest bars in London with a cosy outdoor seating. If you like cocktails - do try the classic negronis. Order the cheese platter. All of the small plates are actually very nice. Service top notch too.
Really nice and chill place before 9pm. Cocktails are around £18, average of central, but my god, I had the best spicy margarita ever and I need to know what it had. The bartender told me but couldn't hear him. It was perfect. Thank you for a lovely "writing" night.

Went here Thursday night for a drink with my husband. It is beautiful inside and we had a table by the electric fireplace. Ordered two drinks and one bottle water and bill was £47. They included a bowl of almonds and peanuts. The drinks were delicious and lots of pretty people out on the town! Our waiter was professional and his service was excellent! The Negroni ice cube had the silhouette of Sir Winston Churchill!
This high-end bar is a unique establishment that prioritizes sustainability. The sleek and stylish interior features art-deco details, creating a visually impressive space. The mixologists have designed a menu inspired by environmental themes, ranging from air pollution and wild life to renewable energy, resulting in a well-crafted selection of cocktails that are not only delicious but also environmentally conscious. One standout cocktail is "The Hive," which resembles an edible candle.
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are looked after amazingly. The staff could not be friendlier or more attentive and the food was amazing, compliments should go to the chef. One of the few places in London where you can eat, drink and still smoke a cigar with an extensive range of Cuban cigars in their own humidor and very reasonably priced.
The otherwise faintly anonymous Hyatt Regency hotel, just off Oxford Street, is now the home of a glamorous bar designed as homage to one of the country’s most iconic political figures, Winston Churchill.
Came for a cigar in the terrace, followed by dinner at the bar. Terrace is pleasant and service is polite if a bit stiff. Their collection of cigars is quite limited though. Food at the bar is also limited, I had a trio of mini hamburgers (GBP 22) which was pretty good and paired with fried sweet potatoes was sufficient for dinner. Only 2 beers available! In a bar in central London? MMMhhh Food selection is more complete at the restaurant of the hotel.
Nice bar for lunch. Terrace is really nice to sit out on, gets very hot if you're in the sun. Food was good, especially the chips. The drinks were very expensive, £7 for a small bottle of lager. Service was ok, friendly enough but nothing special. Overall is definitely worth a visit
The design and atmosphere are excellent
The service is amazing
The cocktails were not good and very expensive
Amazing place with amazing service. Highly recommended to come here. Good cigars and cocktails!! Special thanks to our host Victoria who was fantastic
High end but relaxing environment. We only came for drinks and possibly a little sweet treat. They did not disappoint!
Very beautiful terrace, super friendly staff (the two Portuguese guys were lovely!) and overall great atmosphere. Didn't make it up to 5 stars, and give it 4 because the food was nice but nothing special about it, specially for the price, and neither much choice. Better for drinks and snacks than a proper dinner in my opinion!
Service and atmosphere were superb. I did not try the food menu so I cannot rate it. Cigars were excellent. Hidden gem, would visit again.
It's one of my favourite bars in town, since Covid haven't visited it, but was so glad it stayed the same as it was before ❤️ yummi Eton mess dessert and great cocktails, but we were not offered nuts or olives like before. Atmosphere was great as always!
We had a great lunch here with delicious dishes especially fondue where we extremely enjoyed dipping in the hot chocolate pot. The staff however delivered good service.
Whether for a cigar, a meal or just some drinks with friends, this Bar and Terrace will impress. Sitting outdoors in the cold is made bearable with ample heating and blankets for all. An approachable vibe makes this one of my favorite places to spend some time at in London.
