Lovely atmosphere. Really a romantic place to visit i mostly came here with my partner we love to visit here. Really a best place. We both enjoyed here. Food is also amazing. Nice place to explore
In that awkward period of chrimbo-limbo between Christmas and New Years, on my first day back at work we decided to treat ourselves to a dinner out. As I am sure you have already guessed, it was to Wild Honey, a lovely leather boothed, dark wood clad restaurant serving up seasonal fare, fine dining without the pretentiousness. They like to say without the price tag, which is true of the lunch and early dinner menu, however, I feel if they are referring to the A La Carte prices, this obviously is rather subjective and depends on your budget.
I have to say that i had high expectations for my dinner at the Michelin starred Wild Honey , and unfortunately my experience although very good didn't live up to my expectations.
Overall good experience but what i expected from a Michelin star restaurant.
I have to say the duck was the highlight of the night and i loved it
With so many exciting new restaurants opening in London it can be easy to forget about the wonderful ones that have been around for years. Wild Honey has been open in Mayfair since 2007 and I remember having an amazing meal there several years ago but never revisited. However, one weekend the restaurant’s location made it the ideal place for lunch. After the success of their Soho restaurant, Arbutus, co-owners Anthony Demetre and Will Smith followed up with Wild Honey in Mayfair. The concept was the same; top quality food but without the price tag of London’s Michelin starred restaurants. The combination of Will’s front of house skills and Anthony’s cooking meant that Wild Honey won a Michelin Star within its first year of opening and has retained it ever since. Now I have to say, we’d chosen Wild Honey on the basis that we wanted good food in a casual setting and it wasn’t quite a casual as I remembered but the dining room was very elegant with red leather booths, wood panelling on the walls and well-stocked bar. There was a makeover by top restaurant design Martin Brudnizki in 2012 but then I honestly can’t remember what it was like before anyway. Also the ambience was a little hushed and muted, not the brasserie buzz that I’d hoped for.
Wild honey
Um restaurante clássico com uma gastronomia simples mas com um sabor que perdura na boca até hoje. Foi degustado um menu de três pratos escolhidos pelos chefe dando a oportunidade de conhecer uma nuance da carta do restaurante de uma forma subtil…
A Entrada
English asparagus, slow poached egg, St George mushrooms
O Prato principal
Slow cooked short rib of beef, young carrots, English radish.
A tenricidade da carne que se desmanchava só com o passar do garfo.Um toque de caramelização que nos despertava sabores que nunca foram experimentados pela saliva, um casamento perfeito com legumes da terra com o seu ar sublime.
A Sobremesa
Wild honey ice cream, honeycomb
Uma abelha, animal que todos correm dele como nos pode dar um final feliz a uma história. Um crocante de mel que estilhaçava como um vidro na boca e uma cremosidade gelada dando delicadeza a cada colherada infinita de sabor.

To give you more of an idea as to what kind of diner I am, this is one of the most high-end restaurants I’ve been to, lured by a certain case of “Masterchef” food porn. I am a student, if you haven’t guessed already! (Damn, I need to finish that About Me page sharpish!). Whilst I’ve been to a few Michelin star restaurants, both on the high end and low end of the price spectrum, in Hong Kong you can get Michelin for the amount you pay for Five Guys! Wild Honey is one of the first where I felt the need to be a bit more “prim and proper”, not helped by a large group of smartly dressed waiters standing courteously towards the side of the dining room, that’s enough to intimidate the Panda!
Food was ok. Environment is very comfortable. Took the advantage of £5 corkage fee to bring my own red wine to perfectly go with the beef. The main course is good but doesn't really surprise me. The desserts are amazing by look and by taste, especially the chocolate fondant which is divine.
Fresh. The food has a freshness which sets it apart and has a young vibrant feel to the place which makes it a very pleasant restaurant to go
Excellent value for money. We went to Wild Honey for the first time this Sunday to celebrate my partner's birthday.
The sunday lunch menu is great value for money (£25.50) and we had an excellent meal. They do 250ml carafes of wine so we could order red and white, all wine was about £14. Definitely a plus. The service was also excellent.
We'll come back.
Pleasant Sunday Lunch. Sunday lunch is from a fair value set menu at £25.50 for 3 courses. Food was high quality, in both ingredients and cooking. Highlights included a well balanced chicken & smoked eel terrine with a wonderful chutney & a perfectly timed fillet of cod. But desserts were strongest - we enjoyed a subtle wild honey ice cream. Also the coffee ice cream. espresso syrup & fantastic marmalade that accompanied an otherwise uneventful carrot cake. Dishes are safe but skilfully prepared, rather than challenging. Service was mixed.
Great food. Came based on the Urbanspoon rating. I will be adding to that rating. Overall a great evening. Service was spot on. In fact our server spent additional time with us explaining various entries on the menu. The recommendations were spot on. The artic char appetizer was out of this world. Char just melted in your mouth and the tart added both texture and flavor. We just loved the place.
Great welcome and service, pretty good food, decent world encompassing wine list. Looking forward to going again.
Food is spectacular and service was friendly accomodating and attentive. one of my favorite in london. been several times and will return again

Overall I really enjoyed the cooking at Wild Honey, everything was simply done yet it delivered plenty of fresh and delightful tastes. Service was also brilliant taking great care of us without being over the top.

My starter of Dorset crab, avocado guacamole, peanut and lychee had a lot of flavours going on but it worked really well – and it looked stunning.
The food was really good - I started with a personal favourite of mine, a beetroot salad - I just love seeing the different types of beets and this one was really beautiful to look at.
Being a single child (I am always a bambina inside), I don't have competition with siblings. I do, however, have sympathy towards those who always feel not quite up to scratch with their other 'chosen golden child' sibling, like these two: A: I hang out i
As you all know, I like to eat. So the hunt for a restaurant began. Amongst the various food blogs and reviews I read, I remembered that Wild Honey, off shoot of Arbutus, had been building a decent reputation and remembering that my friend Ed had also rec
NB Wild Honey was awarded a Michelin star this January (2008). Wild Honey opened earlier this year, following in the footsteps of its acclaimed elder sister Arbutus , which now has a Michelin star. Situated in Mayfair, in contrast to Arbutus' Soho locatio
This review is way overdue. First of all, wild honey's reputation precedes them, yet I feel like their presence is still relatively low-key. I think of wild honey as the new wave of modern awesome british restaurants serving exciting food and modernising
I’d heard about the opening of Wild Honey from postings on eGullet and managed to make a booking last Thursday evening, the only day the both of us could make. The restaurant is located in Mayfair, off Bond Street, but the prices on the menu don’t entirel
When I decided to visit Wild Honey I was expecting a 'pubby' experience. Something relatively casual. Could have been because of the name...but that's not wild honey at all. It's smart casual. And it was very good. First thing I loved - along with their bread basket they give a pokora like dish as an appetiser. Onions, scallops and carrots. Amazing! I loved it. We ordered polenta and lamb. Really enjoyed the meal. Wasn't jump up and down excitement or anything but it was exactly what
was expected. Who lily have to give props to a very good selection of wines by the glass. I have like 3 different ones. All very good.
Wild Honey is known for their French inspired menu which uses seasonal British ingredients. The restaurant on a quiet street near New Bond Street in Mayfair and has a slightly low-key appearance from the outside. Inside you’re transported to an old-fashioned gentlemen’s club with warm wood-panels, comfy leather booths and striking paintings on the walls.
I decided to be adventurous and have the Lamb sweetbreads with sheep’s curd, spinach and fennel as a starter while my dinner companion went for the Scottish crab with avocado and green mango. The sweetbreads were tender and the sauce slight sweet and as far cooking thymus glands go, these were done quite well. I also tried a bit of my companion’s starter which I really liked – you can’t go wrong with fresh crab paired with avocado.
For the mains, we switched a bit and I played it safe with Roast chicken with morels and gnocchi which was nice but nothing spectacular and I struggled to finish the plate. My companion had a much more livelier dish of slow cooked Ox Tongue. I've never had ox tongue before but based on my experience of trying lamb tongue at St Johns, I was quite convinced I wouldn't like this dish. Nonetheless I have to say it was cooked well with a pleasing texture.
Dessert was chocolate fondant with ice cream which I can’t remember much of as by this point we had almost finished a rather excellent bottle of red wine.
Dining at Wild Honey was a pleasant experience though it felt rather sedate and old-fashioned and to be honest, over-priced. I got quite a shock when I saw the bill. While the food was good, I don’t think the prices were justified. Service was also a bit patchy. The waitress for our table was lovely but there seemed to be a slight undercurrent of tension between all the waiters.
I've also been to the sister restaurant in Soho called Arbotus which has similar menu and both these restaurants have a Michelin Star. It seems to me having a Michelin Star only guarantees that the prices will be exorbitant and doesn't guarantee a dining experience that is worth what you pay for at the end of it.
I would recommend that if you do go to Wild Honey to stick to the 3 course set menu option which is a reasonable £30 – much better value for your money.
Went for the tasting menu, they were very flexible in allowing my sons gf to choose a veggie dish within the menu. All dishes very nice, the lamb was the star ! Short but great wine list. Atmosphere very buzzy, like a French cafe. Got us off to a good start by recommending cranberry cocktails
Lovely dining room with wood paneling, but seemed very quiet at first. Lovely looking cocktail menu with some interesting infusions although we resisted them - I'd go back to try those alone. The food was pretty good, I'd say those choosing meat dishes enjoyed those a lot more than those who chose fish. Staff were attentive and kind and overall we had a lovely meal.
Probably the best non-Michelin restaurant I’ve ever had in London. The sardine for starter was a good portion. Three good size and meaty sardines with nice flavor is a great way to start a meal. I had slow-cooked beef(forgot what it was called) and it blew my mind. At the first glance, I was very skeptical of the black piece of art. However, the tenderness and flavor of the beef was simply divine. Not a piece of steak was computable with it. The honey comb and ice cream was a little bit too sweet for me, probably a better idea to have something more refreshing. On top of their good food, service was fine and the ambience was really relaxing. Also, spacious between tables. Good for friends gathering or family unions too.
Immediately the staff were very friendly and attentive as soon as we entered. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with wood panelling and red leather booth style seats.
I was invited here by a friend and we used a groupon deal for a three course taster menu. There was no snobbiness in regards to us using a voucher, which can sometimes be expected from a classy establishment. The food was fantastic and elegantly presented. They have a small but very well executed cocktail list and substantial wine list.
With the voucher the meal turned out to be very good value for money but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and pay the full price.
I didn’t see the full menu but even the groupon menu had a nice choice of vegetarian options. In terms of accessibility, the toilets are down a winding metal staircase so I can’t see how people with disabilities can use those facilities.
Other than the accessibility issue I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Pure class, a lovely edition to my top 5 favourite London restaurants. Friendly welcome, started of the evening. Plenty of lovely tables, but glad we had a half booth style one just operator the bar. Food came very quickly, and was delicious. Good selections of wine. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Wild Honey.
We went there for lunch on Saturday and we really enjoyed the quality of the foods here. This is fine dining place with a bit mix between comfort foods and a little bit of fusion. Good foods, good wine, and good service.
Absolutely amazing and excellent value for money! 3-course meal and a complimentary champagne for only £27.5 pp from Groupon. The portions were just right and everything was palatable. I particularly love the roasted lamb - it was full of flavour and matched really well with the hispi cabbage and mushrooms! The tapioca pudding was nice but I'm not a big fan of the roasted apple.
Overall, the dining environment was nice and spacious with friendly staff and delicious food! Highly recommended!
We went there by chance and it was a good surprise. Obviously it didn't come cheap but the dining experience justified the price. Entrees and the rabbit mustard sauce were great. Nice wine list, even by the glass.
Very cosy restaurant with great food and services. Serving portions are generous too.
Wonderful experience here, the food was amazing, lovely atmosphere, service exemplary even though they were short staffed.
A MUST GO place, very very highly recommended, fantastic food, a comprehensive wine list and excellent service from ANGEL.
Went for dinner with a group of 7 and it was an excellent night! Highly recommend :) Really nice, mellow ambiance with lovely decor. The food was delicious (particularly the ricotta pumpkin dumplings) and the waiters were both perfectly discreet and friendly. Super evening all round. Oh, and good sound absorption of noise in the room.
