My friends and I enjoyed the 3-course Party Set Menu ($21.5) and it certainly is a good example of Mediterranean cuisine.

For a starter, I had the 'seared fresh king scallops', served in a citrus juice. A bit chewy but definitely a good choice for starter. For my main course, I opted for the restaurants recommended 'signature' dish, Confit Lamb. The lamb is slow cooked and then pressed into a cylindrical shape. The meat melts on your tongue and is very succulent.

A good place to go for a group dinner, reasonably priced and a wonderful value. Be sure to make a reservation!

Most reasonably priced menus I've come across in London, and quality of food is unparalleled. Service is excellent and I recommend tasting any of their succulent meat dishes and potatoes.

This is probably one of the best places I've been in London so far. The dishes were full of flavour and I loved every single moment. We had grilled calamari, the grilled chicken and the seafood hotpot. I found the entree size is a little small but the mains are very generous. Definitely will be coming here a lot more and try all their dishes : )

One of my local go-to's for any hour of the day. They have one of the most reasonably priced menus I've come across in London, and this is matched very well with the quality of the food they serve. Service is excellent - the team is always willing to accommodate customer needs. We've had occasions where they've kept the kitchen open slightly longer for us when we've strolled in at 10:30pm. I'm also a big fan of their breakfasts because of the menu's variety (and the Mediterranean edge to so much of their food).

The sea bass... that Lamb dish they do... the range of dessert they have on offer... I’m useless at remembering the names of dishes so I just have to return to the Fig & Olive to remind myself. The staff make us feel like we are regulars (well we almost fit that description). Not cheap but I highly, highly recommend!

A great restaurant. I went to the Fig & Olive whilst my parents were visiting. They along with myself were impressed. Between us we ordered lamb shoulder, seafood casserole and stuffed chicken. We followed this up with various deserts, which are beautifully displayed next to the restaurant entrance. We found the food to be of a good standard, the pricing to be very reasonable and the service to be attentive. We also found the modern decor worked very well and added to the fine atmosphere. Of all the places I've visited on Upper Street I believe the Fig & OIive to be one of the best.

Great Place. I have been always very impressed with Fig & Olive. The food and the decoration is simply amazing. My favorite main dish is " Slow cooked lamb shoulder with seasonal sauted vegetables" It is an absulate gem. The menu is very reasonably priced too. This restaurant is higly recommended.

Fig and olive. A bustling place, but calming decor and a really varied menu. I went for the sald buffet which included a delicious creamy roasted aubergine and bean salad - recommended.

...please PLEASE, don't miss the MASHED POTATO! Simple, smoothy, tasty. Just good. Last year, a couple of friends were going there only to order mashed potato. That's all. Isn't it amazing? Going to a restaurant, having just a mashed potato, enjoying it and leaving with a smile upon your face What a good life!!! Ok, I could talk about the goat cheese and asparagus starter which is good, the risotto to avoid or even the vegetable moussaka which is nice but not as much as the one of La Petite Auberge. Actually it's often hard to choose as all the plates you see around you look really good! Even mussels and salmon! The menu is simple and varied at the same time. Remember: mashed potato. The good bread they give you while you're waiting your course is different each time and comes with butter. But note that if you ask for more, you'll have to pay for it

The cakes displayed by the door (which are also available as take away), look stunning, and if the bakewell tart I had was anything to go by, tasted good too.

On entering Fig & Olive, there is the ornate seating on one side and the display of its cakes on the other! There was quite a large selection of cakes, fruit pies, cheesecakes and pastries. These were displayed behind a glass front but customers could sti

The Fig and Olive is situated right in the bustling heart of Upper Street. It joins many other restaurants and cafés in the area with it's window display of baked goods, located directly opposite the famous Ottolenghi and their mouth watering windows of meringues and tarts. The interior is also in keeping with the trendy Upper Street vibe. Funky modern furniture thrown together with velvet thrones and chandeliers. The back of the restaurant becomes a little conservatory, which is lovely and bright and a great place to sit if you come in for breakfast or lunch. The main menu is not too expensive and a mixture of Mediterranean inspired dishes but I have yet to taste. I have come in here a couple of times to taste some of the cakes which are very tasty! The only big drawback for Fig and Olive is it's location opposite Ottolenghi, which is along a similar sort of style but absolutely cannot be beaten for creativity and incredible food.

The Fig and Olive was one of the many restaurants that popped up on Upper Street following the success of Ottolenghi. Just like Ottolenghi, you can see the display of food through the window; carefully arranged sweet delights such as pecan and banoffee pies are beautifully arranged alongside large bowls of fresh salad which look extremely inviting.

The food here is nice, but unlike Ottolenghi, not innovative. The menu boasts very little about the salads on display and rather sticks to such safe options as salmon in a cream and dill sauce and stuffed chicken breast. I had the steak with sautéed potatoes which was cooked perfectly to my taste and my friend had the duck breast which was tasty, but came with a rather dated sweet red wine and cherry sauce.

The restaurant itself is usually full and well lit, creating a friendly atmosphere. It is particularly inviting in the winter months, where it appears as a beacon of light and conversation in contrast to the dark sky and dreary weather.

Although I like this place I think it has not quite decided whether it wants to be amongst Islington’s trendy, cutting edge restaurants, or stick to serving traditional, but by all means tasty food.

I definitely recommend going to Fig and Olive for breakfast, It's a nice restaurant with a trendy vibe. I don't know about their lunch food but their Eggs Benedict are really well done and their hollandaise sauce is delicious! They also have a pretty good selection of cocktails for brunch and their orange juice is great, super refreshing!

Towards the back of the restaurant they have an area that is a bit like a veranda extension to the restaurant and it looks lovely. They have a large table in that section, which looks really nice. It's decorated with flowers and candles, and you can bring large group to eat there.

Trendy is the operative word for describing the Islington area. The Fig & Olive does well to adhere to this guideline for success in its Upper Street home, it's bright with interesting furniture and artwork.

The food is reasonably priced and there's something for everyone. I had the duck breast and it was beautifully cooked, soft and juicy. Heads up, they make a mean espresso martini

The Fig & Olive in Islington is a busy venue with a nice friendly buzz. The cakes displayed by the door (which are also available as take away), look stunning, and if the bakewell tart I had was anything to go by, tasted good too.

This is not just a venue for Coffee and Cakes though. They also have a varied menu covering everything from English Breakfasts to Sunday Roast, and a selection of wines and cocktails.

The decoration is original and trendy with a quite atmosphere. Fig and Olive was highly recommended by some friends but I was a bit disappointed by the chicken. At the end of the mea I was still hungry. Even though the prices are fairly cheap if you take a bottle of wine it get s a lot more expensive. I would say there a more fun places to go in Islington. However if you are hanging out with people that want a trendy/romantic looking place fig and olive is perfect.

The venue is charming with a nice attention to details, quite romantic and so suited to couples or girly times. Food is fresh and tasty while prices are very reasonable for what you get. There is also lovely tea and cakes in a small front seating area. I would recommend it for Sunday brunch or traditional British roast. On top of that, it is often less crowded than other popular places in Islington.

I recommend Fig & Olive, we went there on Sunday for dinner with the family. Everyone found something for themselves. Food and drinks are fresh and delicious. Great presentation and an even better atmosphere. The dish I recommend: scallops, mix vegetarian meze platter, mussels, duck breast and pork schnitzel.

I’m giving this place a 5 just for the orange and carrot cake. I’m a big cake lover and I was impressed. It was one of the best carrot cakes I have ever had. The cream cheese frosting was the perfect ratio to the cake. It was super delicious and I’m definitely returning just for this. Update: I returned for lunch and tried the goats cheese, caramelised onions and spinach panini, which was absolutely delicious. All the items have worked very well together with the creaminess of the cheese and the sweet hint from the onions. I was shocked at the portion size as I was not expecting it to be as big as it was. It came with chips and salad. Unfortunately, they did not have the carrot and orange cake this time so I opted for a chocolate cake which was extremely chocolatey and moist. I would recommend it for those with a sweet tooth. I will definitely come back here again.

We ate dinner here on New Years Eve. It wasn’t super busy and we were seated immediately. There was a New Year’s Eve set menu, but we weren’t feeling too hungry so we opted for regular menu items. We ordered a couple cocktails (Strawberry and Bellini) which were both light and enjoyable. For food we got the Mussels (which came with so many mussels!!) and the Tagliatelle with mussels and prawns. Both were tasty and really filling. Staff was friendly and pleasant, despite working a holiday evening.

Working from home and needed to sort my Wed lunch fix. Read that portions here were large.. so figured I’d give it a go TLDR: the lunch special is 100% worth it, value for money and fresh food 2 course lunch special = starter + main course = 14.50 GBP! Got the salad w/ goat cheese starter. SO GOOD! Turns out its their most popular one.. it’s no surprise.. you get this warm wheel of semi-melty goat cheese atop a bed of tasty salad.. doused in a light, simple dressing that isn’t overpowering Simple. Nice to look at. Delicious! Elected to go w/ the fish of the day > sea bass Was bit uncertain about the quality of the fish.. fortunately, it was fantastic! Surprisingly fresh.. and a large fillet at that.. that comes w/ reinforcements in the form of tasty potatos and side salad Left with a full belly and big smile. Service was spot on too Will 100% be back!

We went here for our wedding lunch with our families and it was absolutely amazing. The staff (especially Elif!) were so attentive, we dropped a fork on the floor and were handed a new one before we even had time to pick it up. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Really lovely atmosphere, would highly recommend!

I loved the chicken dish I ordered, the service was fast and portions are big 😅 you literally sweat eating in a good way. My friends found the pasta dishes a bit too big that needs more balance between the pasta and the toppings. But in general it was a good experience.

Much changed since we visited pre-covid. The food is much more a cafe style breakfast and lunch. Pan seared salmon was nice with creamed spinach, potatos and a pretty tasty salad. My partner had the pancakes which where more of a cross between a fritatta and a pancakes and were OK. It came when scrambled egg which was a bit on the overdone side, sausage was good and honey. Meal sizes were very big! So good price for size! For desert had a lemon merengue pie which was very good! All in all good for the price if you live close by.
