Hazara was eerily empty when we are there - around 7 on a Monday. Service and food were mixed - the Biryani was especially good; a broccoli appetizer was oddly spiced and disappointing. Service was great when the waiters noticed us, but they didn't notice us all that often.
On an overnight stay I searched and found this restaurant. On entrance I was greeted well to a nice and clean premises. Service was very good and the food was immense although a little pricey. I was slightly disappointed that I had to pay for water although bottled. All in all I would eat here again and recommend highly.
A Taste Sensation. Having been here many times now, I felt the urge to share this newcomer to the neighbourhood with all you readers. Lovely ambiance, friendly staff, but most importantly great food, which epitomises any Indian restaurant I have ever dined in and unique to anything I've ever had here in the UK. Yes, it is that good!I I highly recommend the lamb chops and/or tandoori prawns as a starter. The food is delicate with an exquisite use of spices and a perfect introduction to the mains to come. I always eat a lamb mains here and can confidently recommend every single one as I have now tasted each and every one of them.If there is space to complement your food with dessert, go for the Jaipur rose water ice cream... Sensational flavours and a very happy ending, even when the bill arrives! Quite reasonable for such an awesome dining experience and surely not long until this place is the talk amongst the town, if not already!
Wow. Great location light and airy good service but the star is the food absolutely amazing food from the length and breadth of India. Easily in the same league as Cinnamon Club and Rasoi.
Try the Tookri Chaat the best i've ever tasted.
I've never found a restaurant in London to serve Indian food that is entirely authentic, but Hazara certainly close if not the closest. Expect to pay quite a bit more for it than your bog standard "Indian" restaurant. Allow me to elaborate. Whilst in India I visited a roadside cafe or dhaba, on the Gurgaon Sohna road and the food was great. Chicken was roasted over the old converted oil-drum oven, to save energy in cooking, and it gave a delicious toasty flavour. This chicken was served in a rich and very spicy hot sauce, made from fresh local ingredients, where flavours tipped over one-another. My friend and I asked the chef how he made it. He replied "how I usually make it". My point is that I don't think it's possible to entirely create totally authentic Indian cuisine here. It's nice to enjoy an Indian meal, but your average Indian restaurant is light years away from authentic Indian food, in my opinion. It's worth going to India and eating at a different Dhaba each day, just for the fun of it!
In fairness to Hazara they are making every effort to convey the joys of Indian food. The lamb kebab starters were great. The lamb main had a very strong, almost overpowering fenugreek flavour, but I was assured that this was a regional variation. The Dhal Mhakni was entierly authentic, not bad at all.
The interior is modern and chic, but I found it a tad dull. Could this be enhanced by some more antiques, statues, art, sculpture from the sub-continent?
well what can i say had been to this beautifully decorated restaurent to experience the authentic indian food and cocktails which are well rated in the reviews so i thought why not give it a try and belive me after my experience all i can say is that belsize is a lucky place to have such a jem opened in its heart wish i cud be a part of belsize so yhat i cud visit this place on a regular basis , staffs are with positive vibes they treat guests like a family guest never let any of their guest down well trained and knowledgeable cocktails are worth trying and food is just awsome
will certainly make a visit again
Excellent Indian food and amazing prices. I have been to so many so called Indian restaurants but Hazara is a real gem. Wonderful menu and tasty dishes. My fav is dora kabab and tokri chaat.
Lovely food, super friendly and accommodating staffs. The location was also quiet and nice. Definitely recommended.
Marvelous food with excellent team running the show. delicious food for all courses with great recommendations from waiter. Thank you we will be back
Wonderful post lockdown lunch at Hazara! We sat in the sunshine at a lovely spacious table. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The service was terrific. Fantastic for takeaways but even better in person. Highly recommended!!!
Was there last monday with my husband, everything was so mesmerizing and satisfactory, specially awadi ghost biriyani ,lamb chop was so delicious and gol gappas are all mouth watering, overall loved the place and hope going again soon.
Tasty quality food. Ordered Hazara special chicken curry, paneer lababdar, laccha paratha, tandoori roti. All of them were good both in taste and serving quantity.
My family and I liked this authentic Indian restaurant. We enjoyed carefully and neatly and well cooked, decorated and served foods. We wanted to come back often.
Upon entering the restaurant we were politely brought to our table.
We were given great advice on our questions about the menus.
The food was really exceptionally good. The vegan options were also fully convincing.
100% recommendation.
Delicious food and fantastic food! The chilli paneer is a delight! The house specials are highly recommended, I'm not a big fan of lamb curry but the lal Maas can not be missed, tastes amazing and the lamb pieces so tender! Even had the chef pop upstairs to see if we liked the food, brilliant service and highly recommended
A wonderful time, as ever, at Hazara. The food is fantastic and the service is friendly and attentive. We’ll be back soon!
I came here for dinner with friends and we had an incredible meal. Shame the friends I came with are fatties and ate all my food… I don’t blame them though, food was great!!
