*visited pre-covid19: Summer 2019*Wow wow wow. Delicious! Second time eating at a GR restaurant. Chose this one as our trip was last minute as we didn't plan out our trip details nor make reservations. We came for lunch and did not have to wait for a table! Loved every dish that we ordered, and surprisingly, the fish and chips is probably the best I've ever had. Even though only one piece of fish, it is a HUGE one. Fried with just the right amount of batter and also tasted fresh! We also got the rib eye steak and fillet steak. Obviously, I enjoyed the fillet steak more. Both were done to medium rare, just the way I like it. Very tender, juicy, and flavourful steaks. The only critique that I have: plating could have been a bit more impressive.I also loved the open kitchen in this restaurant! I love watching people work in the kitchen (not as dramatic as Hell's kitchen, but a pleasant watch.)Still dreaming of the day where I'm invited to Hell's Kitchen and/or finding Gordon Ramsay at one of his restaurants!
It’s a nice place to hangout with friends and to try the famous dish by Gordon Ramsay: beef wellington which is a little bit expensive compared to the rest of dishes available in the restaurant.
If fish & chips is your thing this place has to be your temple/church/mecca they have the best of it and it will blow your minds the moment you taste it .... So are the desserts finest food from the finest chef
The place is very nice, cool design and atmosphere in a great location. Service was ok but didn’t impress. As expected, Food was very good, we had chicken liver for starter and duck confit and pork belly as main dish. For the desert we had the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream, which was also great thou I expected more creative and original deserts besides the obvious that are included on the menu. Music selection and volume should be reviewed. Overall, a good experience!
Had a couple of business associates visiting london and needed to suddenly take them out for dinner to
- a "nice" place
- in the centre of town
- that wasn't too fussy about dress code as we were meeting after work,
- would take a Friday evening booking for 4 on Friday morning.
Heddon street kitchen seemed to fit the bill. After years of watching Gordon Ramsay bully and berate chefs, aspiring chefs, restaurant owners and hotel owners on television, I must admit I was curious as to what to expect in one of his own kitchens.
I'm not a fan of his onscreen personality (except his series when he was travelling across Asia), but I must admit that his kitchen (at this location) is well run.
We ordered mostly seafood as my companions were pescatarians. The scallops and vegetarian flat bread were lovely. I'm not a fan of haddock, so I wasn't too thrilled with the asparagus and haddock, but they enjoyed it. Cod and halibut were ordered for mains, while I had a carpaccio of roast beef (first time I'm having a cooked beef carpaccio), it was lightly cooked, still red in the centre, and mostly meat. (I'm used to a lot of salad leaves with my carpaccio) But very delicious.
The triple cooked fries were nice and crispy, but even I who eat very low salt food, felt they needed more salt. However, since we were busy talking we forgot to even ask for some ketchup to eat them with and they turned cold and got left on the table. We did however finish everything else that was served.
We tried the sticky toffee pudding, crime brûlée and chocolate fondant for dessert and I have to give top marks to all of them.
It's a great place to take guests out for a meal, with enough variety on the menu to suit multiple dietary requirements and very comfortable and scenic seating (we sat upstairs and had a very picturesque view of the street outside)
Hidden gem ! Came across this place by mistake and lets be thankful for that!
One of the best places to have fish and chips and the duck platters!
Ordered wings and seriously, delicious!
Although it took them around 40mn to prepare the duck, but it was soooo worth it!
Greatest experience ever!
I've tried the famous Beef Wellington and I have no words to describe it.
I will be back soon to try the rest of the menu.
This place has got me craving for its Tortellini from the time I've left! It had the most divine combination of Burrata, Truffle, and a rich Arrabbiata Sauce - truly was a burst of flavors in my mouth !
Lovely place overall. An industrial ambience that seems alright for the most part.
We ordered their signature dish, the Beef Wellington for a whopping £75 for 2 and scallops. Perfectly cooked scallops. A very balanced dish. The Wellington was worth the 45 min wait. Price wise, the Beef Wellington is definitely overpriced.
The floor for some reason was rather greasy, to the point where it might become a safety hazard. We were charged for the kids meal but the Manager immediately apologised once we alerted him of the mistake (the website stated that kids eat for free for each main course purchased).
All in all, a pleasant experience.
December is a beautiful time to explore London. Mayfair in particular is a favourite of mine because every street is lit up with twinkling lights that wink at you as you go by. It's almost like they're in on a Christmas secret. From bustling Regent St, to some quieter walkways and courtyards; you've really gotta hand it to London - they know how to do festive spirit.
Amazing place and very affordable! The service is very nice and professional. The place is clean and the terrace amazing to. All day open for serve everyone in any day.
Heddon Street Kitchen is located just off Regent Street, part of the Regent Street’s Food Quarter. For any of you that used to frequent the Living Room, Heddon Street Kitchen took over in 2014. The newest Gordon Ramsey restaurant in London, Heddon Street has a beautiful space inside set over two floors....

We went to lunch with voucher timeout where the menu consists of three courses and a cocktail. As a starter we eat one burrata salad and a crab tempura and were good .As main courses a trout and an amazing steak with potato pure. For dessert a pineapple and passion fruit with sorbet was very good. The room is attractive and the restaurant is located in a quiet area of Regent street, cozy and with good background music. All the staff is cheerful and efficient.
What a wonderful experience we had at the Heddon Kitchen! We were able to meet thee Gordon Ramsay himself! Honestly, behind the famous facade I could not have met a more down to earth man! He was more than happy to have a quick chat with us and I can honestly say that he is an incredibly nice man! Now onto the food. Sadly the starters were limited as 3 of the 6 starters on offer were not available, leaving me to choose the Brisket. Absolutely wonderful flavors were included in this dish! I do think that the picalili was slightly overpowering to pair with the brisket, but as a whole, it was lovely. The Pork Belly main was divine! Slightly bland, but Very well cooked and had a wonderful consistency! I found the gravy a bit runny, but then again, every person has their preferences :) the Yorkshire pudding accompanying it was also great! Now for the desserts! The chocolate fondant is to die for! For me, that was probably the best course! Delicious and rich with velvet-like chocolate emerging from the center of this wonderful delicacy! All in all, it was a wonderful evening! The atmosphere was great and the waiters extremely friendly and helpful! Thank you for he experience
Quite a lot of my food-based posts tend to focus on more budget-friendly places (or finding ways to still eat at not-so-budget-friendly places when you don’t have the cash to splash). Anything pricier than about thirty quid a head isn’t really my forte, and I’m perfectly happy with that. However, recently I won a competition on Twitter with Regent Street for a meal, desserts and cocktails at three different venues in central London, to celebrate Lumiere London. It came at quite a handy time, as we’d just moved house and as a result didn’t really end up doing anything for our anniversary – so this was a pretty good thing to do for it. I’ve already mentioned the desserts at Hawksmoor, but we also had our main meal at Heddon Street Kitchen, part of the Gordon Ramsay Group. I do like watching Gordon get all sweary on Hell’s Kitchen, so I was definitely looking forward to my first experience of his food offerings.
Going to eat at one of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's restaurants was something I was very excited about. The man is a legend and the way he critiques on his show I was expecting somewhat of a taste sensation with every morsel I put into my mouth.
While I was expecting a 10/10 for this restaurant, I left with a 7.5/10. Although still great, it unfortunately did not live up to the hype I had created for myself.
The dishes are quite expensive for what they are and I feel like there is better value found elsewhere.
I had the Roasted Cod as my main and on the side we ordered hand cut chips, mashed potato, spiced honey carrots and the macaroni cheese. I really enjoyed the Cod but the sides were a lot more exciting for me.
Service was efficient although the staff were not overly friendly bordering on a bit of arrogance.
Overall, Heddon Street Kitchen is in a great location, has a decent atmosphere and offers a good meal. Although not the mind blowing experience I was expecting, I would recommend it for a good (although somewhat expensive) meal.
Great location, I love Heddon st and the restaurant is well decorated and stylish. But sadly food is rather over priced and not mind blowing. I spose one always expects a little more from the likes of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants, food is by no means bad but they spank you on the cost front so we are obliged to spank them on rating should the food not live up to the price.
Memoirs Of A Metro Girl
+3.5
For starters, I opted for the Tempura soft shell crab, served with coriander, sesame, yoghurt and watercress. It tasted pretty amazing – the mix of flavours and light batter really complemented the freshness of the crab. The presentation was good too, as I often find tempura can look a bit of a mess in other restaurants.
Last weekend was my birthday, so two of my fave blogger girlies and I got together the day after to have a relaxing lunch and glass of bubbly to catch up and celebrate. Angie, Suze, and I had put our lunch in the diary months ago, and were so excited to finally check out Gordon Ramsey's informal Heddon Street Kitchen! We tweeted excitedly, and the staff very kindly brought us some birthday bubbles on arrival.
Ok
Gotta say this
They have one vegetarian dish (yes I am a vegetarian)! The cannelloni- but it's so good you should come and have it!
The cocktails are great! Try the little Italy, the love potion 9 or whatever- they find it very hard to screw up!
And for pudding- the chocolate tart! It is especially dark and the salty caramel ice cream that goes with it is exceptional!
Come here alone- you don't want to share your food- with anyone!
I sensed a slight amount of reluctance ahead of my visit to Heddon Street Kitchen. My only previous visit to a Gordon Ramsey Restaurant was Maze many years ago – 2009, still with Atherton at the helm – and I remember being somewhat disappointed with the atmosphere and service. I felt it had more style than substance, with good but pricey food and a distinctly dislikeable clientele. Clearly not an objective view but I can’t deny that I expected Heddon Street Kitchen to be of a similar ilk, and unsurprisingly it sort of was.
When I visit a restaurant I often wonder would it pass the test for me to take my family there? Well...there were soups and fish dishes for my mum, large cuts of meat and fat chips for my dad, and it was child-friendly for my sister and my nephew. They even do children's parties at the dessert bar! As for Mr S, there's never any need to worry about him as he eats anything. Chef Maria Tempakis seems to have found the perfect balance with her menu.
Suze and I both chose tuna tartare which had a lovely kick of chilli and garlic and was perfect scooped on the accompanying wonton crisp.
The first thing about Heddon Street Kitchen is that one should never go in with a half full stomach! By far the best thing about HSK is their generous proportions for a modern british eatery that exists between somewhat a canteen and a fine dining establishment (more the former i suspect). It is gorgeously spacious with two floors of well spaced seating. I was impressed how spacious it was and the open kitchen at the back of the room. There was also a great variety of dishes to choose from.
Normal dining etiquette are observed with the staff regularly asking if everything alright and being helpful without over pestering. We were seated quite quickly and didnt have to wait long for our food. For the dishes, we chose the ricotta pie (to share) and our mains were the duck with buttersquash, girlled pork and two sides of gnocchi and spiced carrots. The ricotta was rich and simply outstanding. The duck was rendered perfectly with a nice autumn balance of flavours. It was mouth-watering good which only downside was how full I was. One of the best autumn dish I have tired. Likewise, the two sides were really generous in proportions with the gnocchi especially cooked to the t and rounded off with shaved jamon which was outstanding! The biggest disappointment was the grill pork. Although I managed to get the nice proportion when sharing, the rest of the pork was dry and poorly seasoned (as well as having a distinct lack of shall we say the 'grill' component). It was probably the grill station having an off day but was disappointed with the response from the staff when I bought this up with her who just said the pork was dry to ensure the whole meat was cooked...
HSK is resonably priced with good serving time which is always a bonus. Id still recommend it despite the pork because I wasn't able to try the other dishes but want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But for the dishes we did try, it was well balanced and perfectly cooked. The 4.5 is that it does served up really tasty dishes in a very vibrant atmosphere without too much of a fuzz. Definitely a stop by.
Heddon street kitchen is Gordon Ramsay's newest addition to his ever expanding empire. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of London's Regent Street you'll find the renowned food quarter, where Heddon street kitchen has been perfectly located.
The room is a great space and has been used well, but the décor ‘the industrial look’ just seems like everything else around at the moment. Unfortunately, even though it wasn't busy I was lead to a table that I can only explain as a walkway. No view of the restaurant and feeling isolated it was a big disappointment. Anyway, as I had arrived early, as always, I selected a cocktail. Early bird catches the worm, or in my case a sneaky cocktail.
Once my friend had arrived more drinks were ordered and we made a decision on what we wanted to eat. The food consists of a modern European menu which is split into cold starters, hot starters, salads, mains, grills and sides.
Tamarind spiced chicken wings was my starter option. Smothered in a sweet and tangy sauce and a light crispy skin, they were absolutely gorgeous. However, they do give you six wings, so I had to give my friend one as I felt like I was on a man vs food challenge. Scallops sat on a salsify puree with treacle bacon, were beautifully cooked and tasted great.
The saddleback pork chop was a massive slab of meat and was perfectly grilled with a good bit of fat attached to it. I opted for the marrowbone sauce to accompany the dish which added great depth to the meat. Roasted cod with crushed potatoes, artichoke, capers and a red wine and lemon sauce looked delicious and was heavenly to eat. We also decided to order three sides – fatties! Macaroni cheese, spiced honey carrots and gnocchi with shallots, jamon, pecorino and crème fraiche. All were good, especially the gnocchi.
Chocolate fondant looked very appealing with a river of chocolate bursting out. The mint ice cream that accompanied it was refreshing to the palate after a mouthful of sweet bitterness from the chocolate. I had the bread and butter pudding which I was really looking forward to. It was nice, but nothing wowed me about it and just tasted like good standard comfort food.
We had a couple of different waiting members look after our table and I felt some were professional, but some a little slow on the service. Even though the food was good and I felt extremely full when leaving, there was just something lacking here. I’m not sure what it was and it’s a shame because I’ve eaten at other Ramsay restaurants and really enjoyed them. I can also think of other restaurants where you can eat the same quality of food for a lower cost. Overall I left feeling a little unsatisfied and out of pocket.
We dined here on 31st October 2023. The atmosphere and decor was very appealing. The service from the outset was brilliant. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The other staff were also chatty. I had the prawn cocktail for starters which was very generous and tasty. My Son has the chicken starter which he said was amazing. For mains I had a salad, my Son the steak, again both were great. Dessert we went chocolate and sticky toffee pudding, these were divine. The bill was around £160 but we ate till we were stuffed and drank what we wanted...the whole experience was worth it. Great quality, generous portions. We would definitely eat here again. Exceeded our already high expectations. Well done!
I had Chris as my server here and he made the night outstanding for us! He was attentive, was knowledgeable of the wine pairings with our meals and had a sense of humor! He added so much positivity to our night and I cannot thank him enough!
The food was out of this world!
The tamarind spiced chicken wings are a MUST have!
The beef Wellington…let’s just say I dreamt of it and woke up wishing I had left overs to enjoy for breakfast again!
Now for the dessert, I’d fight my first born child for. The sticky toffee pudding! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!
Thank you again to Chris!
Amazing experience! We had had a not-so-great experience previously at another GR restaurant but my faith has now been restored following this visit to Heddon Street Kitchen. Absolutely delicious food, cooked to perfection, generous portions but most importantly, fantastic customer service.
Special shout-outs to Thomas for his incredible hospitality and generosity, Ivan for his great attentiveness and Napi for his outstanding customer service, all made our visit highly memorable and enjoyable. Great team, deserving the highest praise!
The experience at Heddon Street Kitchen was amazing! We ordered the specialty Venison Wellington for Two and it was absolutely perfect. Our waiter, Chris, went above and beyond taking care of us on our first trip to the UK. Can't wait to come back!
We visited the place to celebrate a family birthday. Famous beef wellington takes 45 minutes as warned in the menu. But I think it was worth, especially considering the portion. Plus, it is something you want if you are Gordon Ramsay‘s fan. We had porterhouse steak, which was great.
The service and environment was all great. You can tell that the place is managed by professionals.
I would go back anytime.
I had an incredible experience at Heddon Street Kitchen. The Beef Helligton was a true delight, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. But what made the evening truly exceptional was the exceptional service provided by our host, Rafael. His warmth and attentiveness made us feel truly welcome. The restaurant's atmosphere was also wonderful, creating a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend Heddon Street Kitchen for a fantastic meal with friends, outstanding service, and a great ambiance.
The food is good and the dining experience is great, but you must know what are the dishes they are famous for. Your experience may be average if you go for what you like which may not be what they are best at. Beef Wellington is a plus. You will be surprised by its tenderness and flavour. This is a fusion restaurant serving English, Indian and Japanese Cuisine. You may be taken aback and think that it is a jack of all trade restaurant. This restaurant is very good at quite a few dishes. Lidia is one of the kind and helpful attendants.
Beautiful food and atmosphere. First time dining in a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and it did not disappoint!
Our waiter Christian was great! Very hospitable and attentive 🤗
My husband LOVED the beef Wellington!
Had a wonderful dinner with my girlfriends. Best beef Wellington we’ve ever tried! Best espresso martinis, best desssert! You NEED to have the sticky toffee pudding. Rafael made our night, such amazing service. We didn’t want the night to end.
We had a lovely night celebrating our daughter 10th birthday there. The food was scrumptious, the ambience was relaxed and the service was great.
Lidia was the staff who served us. She attended to our order in a timely and sincere manner, making us feel very welcome. She introduced us the house special of the night in a friendly and professional way after we sat down and left us with time and space to think about what we would like to order.
Overall, the food, environment and the service were all value for money. Would recommend this to friends.
