Amazing food, good wine, good service everything you want out of a good meal 10/10 will comeback again!
Completely vegan restaurant great place to bring friends and family!
Friendly staff and delicious buffet worth waiting for the table as the restaurant is so busy during lunch time. We’ll coming back again to try a la cart dishes next time. Food is very tasty 😋. I can highly recommend it to my friends and family. Thumbs up!
Though I am not a great fan of vegan food in general, but the food served here was amazing. Seitan Strahanoff and Vegan Roast, both of them were delicious.Would surely come back..
I read about Chef Ben's story and decided to give this vegan restaurant a try. Not that I am vegan, but I really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is cosy but booking on a weekend is a must. You might have to wait even of you have booked as vegan food does take time to be served. We had the fresh carrot juice with ginger which was refreshing. Then we had the soup of the day which was fresh pumpkin cream soup which came with the letters 'enjoy' on it, little coffee style gesture which I liked. The pita with three different dips was also fresh and tasty. For the mains, we had the vegan roast which had the most deliciously seasoned veggies, potato and parsnip mash, seintal and a nice gravy. I had seintal for the first time and found it rubbery and hard to chew but maybe that's how it is. The stroganoff was rich and creamy. Desserts looked really nice, but I didn't have any space left in my stomach after the starters a d mains. Plus I was also guilty that people who had made reservations were still waiting for a table. Arrive early is what I would say. Good concept and really lovely vegan food.
The Vegan food was pretty good. Its not very cheap though. For some reason service for us was quite slow. Plan enough time to order and eat.
I have frequented this establishment on many occasions. I very rarely give such a high rating but this is the best place for veggies in London. The evening al la carte menu is great and offers good selection of healthy veggie/vegan fodder. However the lunchtime buffet is the showpiece. A selection of hot, cold and raw foods that are healthy and delicious. I see some reviews have said a small selection, well how much food do you want a place to put out just to meet what you call a selection? There is plenty of food and the staff are friendly and helpful. Give in a visit you will not go hungry, disappointed or feeling you have been shop- robbed.
My friend and I were at a seminar over the weekend, just down the road from this beauty. One night, we got 1.20 minutes for dinner. We didn't know where to go, just as I was about to whip out Zomato- a health fellow from the seminar walked past us looking satisfied. "Where did you eat?" "Amazing food, do you like vegan?" "YES!" I screamed in the middle of the road, "no!" she said craving non-rabbit food. "Well there's this great vegan place called 22..." "I KNOW IT, I'VE WANTED TO TRY IT FOR AGES!" So off we went, I dragged her to 222 Veggie Vegan.
It was full. As in, there was a flood of people queuing and at that moment I felt an abundance of pride. Wow. All of these people are looking after their health.
But, we had no more time to queue and wait. So we literally went and had pizza (great pizza).
Then came the next day... lunch, we get 1.20 minutes. She looks at me, and drags me to 222 Veggie Vegan. I felt nothing but pride in that moment. We get there before anyone else and grab a table. Then floods and floods of people came not five minutes later. Wow! Amazing!
Oh yeah, the food! Really lovely, filling and creative. I cannot wait to go there for dinner with Deema.ac . I had everything that was on offer in the lunch buffet. And so did everyone else.
Do you want to know the funny thing?
This was on World Vegan Day. Without our prior knowledge.
My friend and her husband took us to this place for lunch. Table reservation is highly recommended. The place is super crowded on weekends.
The buffet is great. The spread is a combination of various cuisines. The chole is the best from Indian cuisine. I had English Breakfast tea which tastes very good. My friend had Strawberry Smoothie which she said is yum.
One of my favourite places in London, without any doubt. In fact, couple of times we had to go back disappointed because we didn't reserve the seats and the place was full, but instead of getting angry, we felt happy for them that they are doing well :-)
They serve buffet for lunch and A La Carte for dinner, we have tried both and liked equally. For regular visits, buffet seems more attractive as the cost is less, but we really liked their A La Carte also. There are very limited vegan all-you-can-eat buffets in London, and this is the only one we found where the spread is quite healthy as well.
The place is bit small, and menu options could seem a bit limited, but hey, we would still rate this as one of the best places.
This review is only for Buffet-100% vegan restaurant.
Ambience - Most importantly don't get misguided by their fancy website. Keep your expectations low since a high ceiling and pretty lanterns are the only features to a cramped dining area.
Price - the niche food is an attraction, however all you can eat for 7.50£ in Central London is truly a miracle. Only the cost alone is enough to entice a crowd of young people like us and food enthusiasts.
Food - Not a lot of options to choose from but everything was delicious. African cuisine at its best. Chickpeas, rice, stuffed tomato, roasted potato, salad to name a few. Would have been great if the food had name tags for people to recall and recommend.
Staff- Friendly staff. I have been twice here and on both occasion I was given a time check. This must be due to the shortage of seating area and long queue over the weekends.
This place is worth a visit or two. The platter is repeated every day makes one feel the niche is no longer niche
Like all buffet restaurants, make an early to queue.
Best meal out for ages. Thoroughly enjoyed every dish. A real treat. Lovely food, personal service and great value. Can't ask for more.
The most wonderful vegan/vegetarian food. Lovely food.
The lunch buffet - eat as much as you want - is really great value.
The food is flavoursome and healthy.
Have been to 222 on many an occasion - it's one of my favourites
Cosy. Tasty vegan food. worth the journey to the restaurant. stroganoff was particularly good.
The lunchtime buffet was absolutely stunning, really (really) tasty vegan food, plentiful, nice chilled atmosphere and attentive helpful staff...We were only half joking when we considered hanging round and going back later to sample the evening menu...we'll definitely return even though we live about 150 miles away. Whther you're vegan or not, just go, you won't be disappointed!
Great vegetarian food /vegan even so I'm not vegetarian

I'm not a veggie or a vegan but I went with a friend and loved this place. Truly great buffet lunch with all fresh, delicious recipes. A must try for everyone.
Fine place for healthy - veggie food in Fulham. Ambiance is pleasant and lovely. The staff is very friendly and prompt. Prices are okay, 20 £ each should do. But..let's talk about the food.. !!
I requested to have an avocado salad, which I love to have when I feel veggie..it was fresh and nice, but not their specialty. Also, I had one of their veggie burger... which I liked. It was quite tasty and the toppings were fresh.
I suggest going if you find yourself in the area.. but it is not my veggie's favorite.
As my partner Sarupa is a vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for interesting veggie restaurants which promise a unique vegetarian experience, especially when it comes to finding a restaurant for her birthday. I don’t know how I had missed 222 as they have been around for some years, but recently they appear to have broken away from being a closely guarded local secret and the message has got out that this is a vegetarian eatery of note. So I booked a table for dinner with high hopes.
As Sarupa is (or thinks she is) the expert on vegetarian food, I have invited her to join me in reviewing 222 so we can both share our experience there with you.
When you walked in how did you feel, ambiance, décor and general vibe?
Sarupa: I had no idea where we were going as it was a birthday surprise. Given the almost left field location I was a little nervous but excited as we walked form the station to the restaurant. As we approached seeing it was a vegetarian restaurant made me feel really happy!
It had a posh café feeling about it, like a lot of vegetarian restaurants do. I am not sure why vegetarian food makes people think of the opposite of luxury and high end…not that it is necessarily important to look swish. Just there seems to be a more utilitarian approach for décor and ambiance.
The vibe was relaxed and of course like any diner as I walked in I looked to see what people were eating. It all looked rather wonderful so I was very happy.
I did feel however a little tea light in a pretty holder would have made it feel more like dinner and added more intimacy and maybe some low volume music. Dinner after all is a sensory experience too…well it is for me!
The décor could do with some updating…if I really had to say something constructive!
Michael: 222 is not located in the most salubrious of places, I did feel a little concerned that we where in the wrong part of town and I almost cursed my Google maps app for taking us down the wrong street. However we soon saw the sign for 222 and I was pleasantly surprised. Entering the restaurant it was clean and well presented, light and airy.
We sat next to the window and although they will not be winning any awards for the view, it was comfortable and pleasant. It had much more of a “café” vibe rather than that of a high end restaurant.
Was the menu interesting, innovative and inspiring?
Sarupa: Oh my, the menu was just delightful. Even as I write this my mouth is watering. I was of course as a vegetarian spoiled for choice, so much so I nearly had a melt down on what to order. In a non-veg restaurant usually there is one or two choices which makes ordering pretty straightforward.
Once I got over the amount of choice I had, because I could order anything and everything I knew I was in for a treat.
What was great to see was Michael, a meat eater as excited as me about the menu. Of course Michael eats vegetarian meals, we have veggie days even! He isn’t the kind of carnivore who believes without a slab of dead something it isn’t a meal; It was just great for us both to feel that inspired, rather than my often sorry look of well there isn’t much here for me…!
Michael: For me this is the interesting bit, the menu genuinely looked different to most vegetarian restaurants. With interesting ingredients and combinations this looked like it was going to be a meal which would challenge my preconceptions of what a modern vegetarian restaurant is capable of.
How was the food presented?
Sarupa: The food was presented beautifully. It was inviting, colourful and certainly something that was thought about before it reached the table.
Michael: Really good! I couldn’t help looking at the food coming out of the kitchen to the tables around us. Although they were hearty portions, there was a real flair in the way each dish was presented on the plate. I was trying to match up the plate to the menu to help me make my choice.
Was the food any good?
Sarupa: To start I had the ‘lentil peak’ It was delicious, moreish and left me knowing what was to follow was going to be superb. My main, ‘oyster mushroom & spinach raclette’ was equally delicious. I couldn’t help thinking what a fabulous breakfast it would make as the tofu, which had been done to be like cottage cheese also could have been a great vegan egg substitute.
The food didn’t disappoint. As far as veggie restaurants go it is certainly a trail blazer. 222’s food had bold flavour not just an array of vegetables. All the dishes we had on the table tasted unique too.
The starter and main were so good I actually had to turn down the dessert opportunity. On my birthday too…this is unheard of normally as I am a sucker for sweet stuff!
Michael: Fantastic! For my starter I opted for the ‘Heart’s Desire’, artichoke hearts beautifully cooked to perfection with herbs and a roasted pepper sauce. This dish worked really well the flavours combining to mouth-watering effect.
For the main course I went for ‘Seitan Stroganoff’, for those who don’t know seitan, it is a wheat gluten meat substitute. It is well textured and here it was served in a wonderfully rich cashew nut cream making it a perfect combination. The menu didn’t mention the pieces of oyster mushroom I found in the dish but they were a welcome addition, adding more texture with the flavour of the mushroom making the dish even more special. It came served with brown rice which was perfect for mopping up the last puddles of sauce.
How was the overall service experience?
Sarupa: Service was great. Friendly, informative, polite and not intrusive. I just couldn’t fault the experience. I love the fact that the head chef came out to speak to people as they were leaving. A touch I love.
Michael: The service was good and as expected, although nothing special. I was a little miffed that I had booked for a birthday and had made it clear on the phone, however the promised little “birthday extras” were nowhere to be seen on the day.
So would you go back there?
Sarupa: I loved it. I recommend it whole heartedly and can’t wait to go back. There is a lot more I want to try off the menu…I just wished I lived closer….!
Michael: I really enjoyed the experience and the food was better than expected, being tasty, well executed and well presented. I don’t think this is a place for a special occasion as it does lack some “pizzazz”. For those looking for really good veggie food you can’t go wrong with 222. Would I go back? How about lunch tomorrow.
I love this place! Great food, great service. My only gripe is that they no longer do the lunchtime buffet. That buffet was amazing 🤩 now it's all a la carte. Shame 😔
Food was great, as was the dessert we had. Great little vegan hideaway in London.

222 strives to offer dishes that are as delicious as they are healthy. The menu is low-fat, low-salt, non-GM and organic where possible.
As someone who follows a vegan lifestyle, I appreciate a diverse and delicious menu that is a delightful celebration of plant-based cuisine, and it's clear that the chefs are passionate about creating dishes that are not only good for us but also incredibly tasty. There were dishes inspired by African cuisine, the Caribbean, Mediterranean, different areas of Asia, etc.
One aspect that sets 222 apart is their commitment to accommodating various dietary preferences and restrictions. Their excellent gluten-free options are a game-changer for individuals with gluten sensitivities or allergies. It's rare to find a vegan restaurant that offers such a wide array of gluten-free choices that are both safe and scrumptious. From gluten-free pasta dishes to mouth-watering desserts, they've got it all covered.
My Celiac dining partner and I found the entire dining experience outstanding. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for everything from intimate dinners to group gatherings. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations or answer any questions about their menu.
The legendary 222 Vegan Cuisine is a true treasure for the local vegan community and anyone looking for exceptional gluten-free options. The value it brings to the community, its dedication to plant-based excellence, and its commitment to catering to diverse dietary needs make it a must-visit restaurant.

Pretty quiet on a Tuesday lunch but the food is high end and beautifully presented.
Disappointed in the switch from buffet to A La Carte, since I don't get to sample such a wide variety of dishes anymore.
Great place to have vegan healthy comfort food. I loved everything we ordered. The burger was super tasty and I normally do not like vegan burgers. The curry was also delicious. The cheesecake is one of the best vegan cheesecakes I tried. The atmosphere is very quite and peaceful, the service is great too!
Very tasty and fresh food. They have an open kitchen where you can see them preparing your order, hot and fresh..The service was nice. Quite many options and variety to choose from.
Beautiful food.
The Egusi is unique and exotic. Beautiful presented.
Perfect service. ❤️😊
Highly recommended. ❤️😊

Ben was very attentive and helpful when I last came in on May 9th.
They no longer carry my favorite meal, but the Ben’s Special was quite delicious and they STILL carry my favorite dessert on the planet, the 222 pancake!! The appetizer pictured was the artichoke heart appetizer. 👍🏼 Everything was delicious!! 😋
4 of us had lunch & all loved our meals. Such a lovely, truly vegan place to visit on our short trip to London! Thank you Ben & staff 😊
One of my favorite choices in London. The patty was remarkably juicy and succulent. It was accompanied by a medley of fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and avocado, all served on a perfectly toasted vegan bun. The combination of flavors and textures was absolutely delightful, making it a top-notch choice for those seeking a vegan alternative to the classic burger experience.
What a wonderful little place the staff are very friendly, the food is form the other world all the flavour where there the price are very reasonable I highly recommend the oysters mushroom raclette 🤤🤤🤤🤤
