I've been a regular customer for ten years, this is my favourite restaurant in London. Staff is very helpful, cool and friendly. I love the burgers but my favourite is the king prawns! You should definitely go and visit! You won't regret it :)
Top notch steak and burgers. The steak frites is not your usual 5mm cut but a thick and juicy medallion. Great quality cuts cooked the way you like to perfection. You will not be disappointed!
We spent our Sunday afternoon at the classy Black and Blue steak restaurant in Notting Hill, it is 1 of 6 in the chain of restaurants. The venue was classy with a modern feel to it. Album covers made into huge framed pictures hung from the walls giving the sunlight room from the huge skylights a colourful feel. The manly smell of steak lingered making me salivate before we had even sat down.

The restaurant is classy and clean with a real open feel. Big windows and too huge skylights ooze in natural light. The option to sit at a table, the bar or outside also increases the appeal of this restaurant.
The Steak was super good with a selection of wonderful sauces you would be mad not to have the steak BUT there are plenty of other options!
The starters and Desserts were also top notch and were a really good portion size.
American Eating. Now I consider myself british through and through, but married to an american and traveling to the states for work, I actually quite like eating at the bar. There are not many places where you can do that in the UK, or in london (acutally at the bar not at a bar), so the bar offering here is great.
The steak is good, although I must admit nothing amazing, but good. The peppercorn sauce could have been thicker, and the chips crisper. Will I go back? yes, for the food? sort of! to sit at the bar? yes!
I really like this place. First off, the food and service are key strengths. Steak is great but many menu alternatives to meat. Attractive prices on specials like Steak Frites. Nice selection of wines with helpful tasting offers and recommendations from waitresses. Calm relaxed setting with impressive giant fresh flower boutiques, cool classic album art on the walls and a nice French Bistro influence without pretention.
They always look good when I pass by in a taxi but I never lived by one to try it. Look for the cool flaming torches outside to guide you to this urban oasis of calm with its comfy booth seating and views of the boulevard entertainment passing by.
The Stud and I love to sit at the window of an afternoon on the weekend. The artichoke and cheese starter and then a burger is our favourite combination. The tender meat never lets us down and the chips are always delicious. Washed down with a red from a very eclectic wine list we are truly satisfied. Our loyalty is assured by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. A must for burger lovers, we are never bruised by the experience. C C Fred
In America there are several chain restaurants that serve blooming onions, but it isn't something I've often seen in the UK. Cut to me travelling all the way to Notting Hill once I heard that Black & Blue have them on the menu. I regret nothing, it was totally worth it. The 'flowering onion' held together amazingly, falling into perfect bite sized sections. Served with a tangy peppercorn dip, the whole ensemble was delightful and morish. I did feel that calling 375ml of wine a 'carafe' was a little optimistic but we enjoyed the brisk Sancerre regardless. We did notice quite a lot of staff for not a lot of customers and were a little perturbed that a service charge applied automatically for a table of two but all in all are happy to have found a new little gem of a restaurant. The Storm Thorgerson prints lining the walls were a great surprise too.
Loved the place. Very polite on the phone when I made a reservation. Giving me lots of options. Food was amazing, as was the service. Shared a large steak. Came with desert, salad, chips and 2 glasses of mimosa. With 3 IPAs, a lemonade, an extra desert and a medium size bottle of Pellegrino and service charge the bill was 87 pounds. Not too bad.
Chargrilled steaks & salmon were fabulous. Staff very friendly & attentive. Lovely relaxed dining experience
This restaurant was ok, I probably ordered the wrong thing. Would have been nice if they had sorbet as a desert option on the fixed menu. Good service. Steak correctly cooked. Chips very thin but crispy. No sweet potato fry option or thick chips which I prefer . Seating was comfortable. Reasonably priced.

Really enjoyed our dinner. Lovely chips and burger. Drinks were a Little alcohol shy but the venue was nice and welcoming. Attentive staff and good lighting.

Really good food and amazing variety of it. There are amazing burgers, steaks, roast and salads. Really great, friendly, quick service. And to top it all off, it is all really well priced. Would definitely recommend for a great family lunch or dinner.

Staff was VERY friendly & accommodating. They weren't at all annoyed w/us Americans & all of our modifications. Food was GREAT. (Get the salt & lime chicken wings for an appetizer) you'll thank me later.
They know how to do a steak. Medium rare is really Medium rare. The meat could be of better quality and the fries are only average. Positive is that you get some sides with the stesk so that you don't have to pay everything extra. Helpful staff.
The experience from food to staff was absolutely astonishing. I tried baby pork ribes just hours ago and I still feel the taste. Don't forget to ask for finger bowl especially if you go for 2 portions )
18th birthday dinner with family and special friend from USA Great service excellent friendly staff wonderful steaks fresh fish just a shame about frozen crinkle chips and burgers instead of being medium were very rare however overall would really recommend. The staff could not do enough .
Black & Blue may not be within everyone's budget for a regular meal out, but for the occasional special occasion, it is a reliable standard for us. We've never had something on the menu that wasn't outstanding and the servers have always been top-notch (though maybe that is because we see them regularly). Also, I prefer this location to the others, likely because the servers recognize us, but this one is a bit quieter, I think.
Went there for our friend's daughter's 18th Birthday. The staff were excellent, the food was Ok, but overall a great service all round. I'd most definitely recommend this restaurant for a pleasant dining experience.
Beautiful place. Live mucis in Waterloo restaurant and the lady who is singing giving this place this nice vibe. Maybe not a everyday place to have a dinner...as the prices are not cheap, but don't forget location, definitely worth a visit. One of our favourite places to celebrate something special likeValetnites day or anniversary..cosy and romantic.
Always enjoyed the meat here. Good service, sometimes can be a bit slow when too busy, but its acceptable. Perfect sized menu.
