his Pub crawl is for the younger crowd. You will be joined by 50 plus people or more and walk through the streets with said people. Wait at every bar for a drink every time. So you are always bringing the crowd with you. The entire pub crawl is more of a Night club DJ thing . Not what I was expecting we made it to 2 stops before our exit. This should be called a CLUB Crawel not a Pub Crawl.

Lovely setting! The mouth watering cakes in the window always makes me stop by and gape hungrily at them.

And must say the cakes are delicious.

Just look at the display I have clicked. 😋

It’s been so many years since I last went to Ottolenghi that it was pre-blog days – and the blog turned 6 last month! So when Annie suggested we ate there last night before going to the Almeida Theatre, I was really pleased. I’m not sure quite why it’s taken me so long … I’ve been to the Almeida quite a few times; I fairly regularly meet up with north London friends in Islington. And certainly I’ve walked past Ottolenghi (the first and flagship ‘Ottolenghi’ store) many times and the food on display in its windows is so enticing, I’m not sure how I’ve resisted going in (well, actually I did once but just for coffee and cake). I know it’s partly because I always think of it as very expensive but last night I realised that while not cheap, actually it isn’t outrageous at all and given how amazingly special every dish was, it’s certainly worth what you pay. There were 3 of us as Jerry came too and the waiter suggested 6 to 8 dishes to share – all plates of food are for sharing; some cold from the counters at the front and some hot from the kitchen. On average they’re about £10 each and as we chose 2 each (to then share) that’s a base of £20 a head.

It's one of the challenges when you have high epectations for somewhere. I love ottolenghi's recipes but our dinner here did not live up to the hype. Everything was ok but just no wow factor.

I have never had a bad experience here. Although it is always busy I find this endearing and if I cant handle it i get a take away and sit outside (there are two chairs in the entrance which no one uses). My favorite is the broccoli and aubergine. I'm sure you will find your own!

This place is an institution, but it hasn't let standards slip since it started about a decade ago. The piles of salad in the window completely live up to expectations and it's refreshing to have vegetables take centre stage (although the meat and fish are also wonderful). A firm favourite.

Wow this was spectacular!

We had an array of dishes but the ones which stood out the most were the tempura courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta and truffle honey as well as the aubergine with tamarind yoghurt.

Smallish plates hot or cold allows a good tapas-style setup for trying various things out. I cannot recommend the poached quince dish highly enough, one of the tastiest clash of flavours I've ever eaten. The squid stew was wonderful too. Excellent!

Considering the immense influence Ottolenghi has had on my dining preferences I'm surprised I hadn't written this blog post earlier. I first came across the name back in 2010 when looking for good vegetarian cookbooks and the names Ottolenghi and Plenty. Once I planned to move to London, it was a name that I intended to go searching for to see what the originals tasted like.

The flavours are incredibly fresh, and the prices surprisingly reasonable. The concept at their restaurants is to mix and match mains and salads, with around seven or eight choices for each. I’ve found that one main and two salads is just enough to get me comfortably full, and the best thing to do is go with somebody who is willing to share their plate, so you can get more variety! They also have a number of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Lovely selection of salad and light main courses. I normally go for 2 salads and a main which is filling enough for me. My personal favourite are the roasted aubergine and mixed peppers salad. Their breads are also lovely so it's worth ordering a selection of mixed bread if you come with some friends. The place is a bit small so it's not always that easy to get a seat and be prepared to be seated in the long table and share with other people.

Above average med/north African. I have been here for brunch, particularly the scrambled eggs with salmon, you will not find that on many menus anywhere. they do it right. It's more of a deli than a restaurant, but up market and nice. The coffee after was great.

Had a really nice time in Ottolenghi, only waiting about 20 minutes for both a table and food. It's so busy though it didn't matter and it was worth it. The decor is modern and v comfortable. Coffee was excellent. The food was good - welsh rarebit was a little too rich but that's personal taste. Will be back again. Highly recommend. Don't go in a rush at the weekend.

I’ve never quite understood people who say they don’t like vegetables. I mean, there are SO MANY, surely, there are a few that you actually enjoy eating, right?

But this sort of debate no longer matter as I’ve now found the best place for picky eaters to fall in love with vegetables (and for veggie lovers to have the best lunch ever!)!!

And don't even get me started on the cakes...

Came here for dinner with friends (group of 6) and shared 12 plates, 3 desserts and a bottle of wine. Everything was fantastic and came out fairly quickly despite the restaurant being full. The decor, while fairly casual and stripped back, provided an excellent atmosphere for catching up. Service was impeccable with excellent wine recommendations. A great experience.

Finally my first Ottolenghi experience! I flew in from Australia this morning & couldn't wait to head over to Islington to get Ottolenghi out of my system! What a great experience this was for my friend & I. Greeted at the door by friendly staff only to be told they'd be a minimum wait of at least 45 mins. They constantly came back & informed us of the revised wait time & didn't just forget about us. The queue was out the door and to tell you the truth I felt excited being part of it all and knew as the line moved forward I was one step closer to sampling this amazing looking food! Finally sat down ordered coffee whilst we pondered over the menu - all I can say it that it was worth every minute of the wait and looking around the room everyone seemed to be savouring every mouthful of what was on their plate. Would highly recommend & can't wait to try NOPI this evening.

Doesn't do Yotam justice. It wasn't by any means a negative experience, but this restaurant just doesn't do Yotam Ottolenghi's cookbooks any justice! The decor is just a tad out of harmony with the style of food, and some of the modern elements looked a tad cheap instead of innovative or creative. The food was okay, though the salads probably stole the show. The mains were extremely small portions and the breakfast options seemed a bit boring (although an apparently popular choice). I did love all the seasonal ingredients featured on the daily-changing lunch menu and of course his grilled aubergine dish was the best, not to mention the tasty grilled focaccia. Overall, I think the take-out option would probably be more worth the money here.

Better than expected!. It was with some trepidation that I tried dinner at Ottolenghi for the first time last night. Bad service, seating and price were all concerns of mine but, as it turned out, I need not have worried.

I was in a group of four at the Islington branch and as I arrived, the first things which caught my eye were the cakes - beautifully crafted and bright but more of this later.. The seating arrangements are such that larger groups are accommodated at one long table as the only other options are a few tables for two down one side of this. Dinner is served mezze style and you are encouraged to choose a selection and share dishes. The food is split into two columns; one is from the counter and is bought to the table cold and the other is from the kitchen and, as the name suggests, takes a little longer to arrive at the table.

I chose the tuna in a panko crust and sweet potato from the counter column and the ox cheek with polenta from the kitchen. The tuna was delicate and came with a lovely sauce, the sweet potato wedges were exquisite. I was a little worried about my choosing ox cheek from the kitchen menu as the only other time I had eaten it, the results had been gloopy, gelatinous and, to be frank, a bit gross but this time it was absolutely delicious; the sauce was rich and sweet and the meat flaked apart and was very tasty. This dish also came with a salad of what tasted like apple and perhaps cucumber and this combined very well with the meat. The only disappointing aspect was the polenta which was a little over cooked and greasy.

The service was great throughout the meal. As we took our table, it was made clear that we needed to be finished by a certain time but we never felt rushed and they were always on hand to guide if required and topped up our water throughout. As we arrived at dessert and prompted by our attentive waiter I took a stroll to admire the cakes in the window and was steered gently by a friendly waitress in the direction of the chocolate cake to finish. It came with a Baileys cream and was absolutely lovely. A perfect end to a delicious meal and I have put some pictures up on the site of the dishes I chose.

It is expensive but the flavour combinations are really interesting and definitely worth it for a special occasion. I would urge all who attend to be adventurous with your choices from the menu and hopefully you will enjoy a meal as lovely as the one I had last night.

Oasis in a desert. There are plenty of places to eat in this area - it's just that most of them are pretty drab. This is different. We were a walk-in on a Friday night and managed to sneak a place at the counter. The atmosphere was lively and the food interesting - small plates to share, some hot, some cold, all well done. Really enjoyed the tuna and the pork belly. The menu changes regularly - we'll be back.

Can't go wrong. Upper Street is liberally dotted with places to eat - pubs, cafes, bistros, bakeries, restaurants across the price range and cuisines around the world. I live here and I'm spoilt for choice, yet I come back to Ottolenghi often, save in the knowledge that the food here is consistently & reliably good. It is deservedly popular but curses! I can't get a table most times.

It's essentially salads & sweets. The salads are all impressive: ingredients & flavours thoughtfully combined & balanced. Some simple, some clever, but never complicated. All bright & fresh... I'm getting hungry now just thinking about them. The sweets are equally brilliant. Their apple cake and passion fruit tart are firm favourites. Both are well executed and neither are too sweet, allowing the fruit flavours to come through.

Some may balk at the prices but I feel that given the top quality, value for money is justified. Interiors are clean & comfortable. Staff seems to be constantly buzzing but they are generally friendly and helpful.

Just love it!. I've always been a great fan of Ottolenghi as their passion for food is evident wherever you look. They are super friendly, but as one of the reviews said, also super busy, which can be problematic at times. Not for me though. I know the place and understand the attraction. The staff are great. If anything, I'm amazed at times how they cope with so many keen to be a part of the experience. For that reason I don't encourage anyone to go. I want to keep it for us, the regulars, who love it, appreciate it and never complain when have to wait to get a seat (which is fun as well as so much happens around you!)

So Ottolenghi has become a famous name not only in London, but worldwide. With four Ottolenghi branches in London, I knew I had to go visit at least one of them if not more. From his original first delicatessen in Notting Hill in 2002, Yotam Ottolenghi now has four outlets as aforementioned and at the Islington branch, it is a full-fledged restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Yotam Ottolenghi himself was born in Israel and his excellent background from his time as pastry chef at Michelin-starred restaurant, The Capital , really shines through in his own delicious creations. His food and menu is primarily influenced by the Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine, but definitely has some Asian elements :) (woot!) You can expect to queue at the Islington location regardless o

One thing I’ve always liked about Yotam Ottolenghi is the passion he puts when he talks about food, and I was very curious to know how he translated all that love into his own restaurant in Islington. Well, let me start saying that Ottolenghi’s philosophy of eclectic small dishes to share was a joy, an absolute pleasure. We ordered two/three plates per person as they suggested, and it was the most glorious food I’ve had in London so far. Japanese, British, Thai, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern… Every dish was a little surprise, it was beautiful how all those flavours from different influences combined to perfection, like in different layers. Everything from the presentation to the quality and originality of their ingredients was phenomenal, especially their

We loved all vegetarian dishes on the current seasonal menu. The Islington deli / restaurant takes reservation only for dinner.  We got a reservation at 10 PM despite us reserving spots a week ahead.  Clearly the restaurant is very popular, despite not being new (has been open since 2002)!  The front of the restaurant is styled as a deli / take-away section, while the back of the restaurant has mostly communal seating with a few tables for couples. Unlike many restaurants, the wine list at Ottolenghi in Islington has 80% of the listed wines available per glass.  The wine list includes a section dedicated to Orange wine (yes, not Rose, although Rose is also available).  We stayed with safe whites and reds.

Upper Street and more generally Angel is one of those places where choosing a restaurant is made difficult by the sheer number of options.  The dilemma is, does it follow that busy restaurants serve great food?  Perhaps not, but there is one place where this is certainly the case; Ottolenghi. Opened as a delicatessen, there is a long communal table and a couple of smaller ones.

This cake - served in very generous slices - is the perfect comfort food on a damp autumnal day (or any time really!). The cake is good; moist and (predictably) apple-y, but the icing is the crowning glory (both literally and figuratively) of this decadent treat. The maple syrup – an unusual addition to a cream cheese icing – is sweet and smoky, combining with the cake below to produce an overall flavour pleasantly reminiscent of toffee apples.

This morning I was in Islington hunting for scallops, and just happened to pass by Ottolenghi. For some rather strange reason I've never been to the actual restaurant; I've cooked plenty (ha ha - get it - plenty) of dishes from Ottolenghi's vegetarian cookbook Plenty and I've read so much about the restaurant itself. Yet I've never been, so when I passed I decided to pop in and perv on what's on offer. I decided to sit down with an espresso and toast - boring me, I thought - but then the toast showed up, along with my own personal toaster (coooool!!) and three amazing spreads. SO satisfying. I'm really picky with the level of toastedness for my toast, so this is perfect. Also, I like A LOT of butter (in capitals because I really mean it - I eat obscene amounts of butter), and there was a whole bowl of fresh butter served with the spreads. Bonus points! Toasting in progress Now, let me tell you about the spreads. They are outstanding! There's a raspberry jam, which tastes homemade and a

Ottolenghi is a vegetarian or cake lovers heaven. It is also one the best places to go for brunch and lunch in London - in my opinion anyway! The word vegetarian has been tarred with the wrong brush over the years. People expect vegetarians to live on a diet of Linda McCartney sausages, carrot sticks and celery. Ok, maybe that is a bit far but Yotam Ottolenghi has shown us over the last few years just how exciting the humble vegetable can be. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting his restaurant in Islington (or the three take away cafes branches in Notting Hill, Belgravia or Kensington ), you may have been lucky enough to see one of his two cookbooks. The first, Ottolenghi: The Cookbook was written by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi and took influence from their home towns of West and East Jerusalem. Although there was a queue nearly out the door we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving at Ottolenghi. The space is all painted white to allow the stunning salad platters, cakes and treats to stand out - and boy they do. I was positively salivating by the time we reached our table and grabbed the menu with earnest. The menu is truly unique to anything we have eaten during this exploration of London breakfasts. The presence of more 'dinner' style dishes including a cannelloni bean stew and shakshuka were duly noted, while the classic eggs and salmon and Welsh Rarebit are given an Ottolenghi twist.

Bright red Dualit toasters and minimal cutlery sit on the tables to invite a communal feel at the large table, while the very personal service from the staff ensures you feel looked after. After considering the simple but delicious menu, we ordered: two shakshukas, one cannelloni bean stew, two breakfast teas and a flat white.

Although the restaurant was clearly at full capacity, our food and drinks both arrived relatively quickly; steaming hot and inviting us to jump in. The breakfast tea was served in a striking cast iron tea pot which was quite heavy but gave a really authentic feel to the meal. Alex's flat white came a a plain white cup which, again, allowed the coffee to stand out. There is a real sense of focus on the food and drink being served at Ottolenghi.

My cannelloni bean stew was absolutely stunning. I guess it was a sort of posh beans on toast, but laced with garlic, chorizo and severed with a slab of black pudding (which I've never eaten before) and crusty toast. The black pudding had a really soft texture which I didn't expect and a very sausage like flavour, which complemented the earthy, spicy and tomato rich stew. The side salad, as with all breakfast side salads, was not required.

Alex and my mum's shakshuka was also delicious. It had enough spice from chilli and paprika to wake you up but was generally very warm and comforting. The eggs were poached first to give them a spherical shape then added to the sauce and baked. This too was served with crusty bread for added texture and was really delicious.

On the side we got a sweet bread board for 'dessert'. We got four different types of sweet bread with banana jam, cherry jam, butter and hazelnut chocolate spread. My absolute favourite was the fennel and cherry bread with cherry jam but the banana jam was also amazing. The condiment was so unique and it was like nothing I have ever tried before - fabulous!

The food was very well-prepared and I have to say that it was delicious. It was also very inventive on their part but they never mention on their website that the prices are attached to tiny tapas size portions. I soon realized that it was very expensive and I would instead buy the cookbook and prepare it at home. The staff was friendly and recommended that everyone should have five dishes each but as I said that it was very expensive.

If there is a negative, it is the fact that the wine list was very expensive.
But apart from that ,i will definitely dine in again in this classy restaurant!

There is usually a queue here to get seated, but the wait is absolutely worth it. The spread is absolutely delectable and delightful and will leave you wanting for more. The breakfast here is a must-have. The venue of this place is great. The ambiance is also very quirky and nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

Coming from a vegetarian this place serves some really healthy and tasty food. But from seeing on my friends' plates i can safely say the non-veg items look pretty great too.
I have been here about four or five times, and can vouch for the desserts which are heavenly, and amazing given the uncomplicated blend of simple ingredients.
On the not so good aspects, this place isn't the cheapest option, and unsuitable for large groups.
But despite that the service is amicable and helpful.

This place is extremely booked, especially on Fridays,so we booked a month in advance.
And the wait was totally worth because we had an amazing time there! From a varied menu ,we tasted some of the finest dishes and the cook's sauces accompanied with each dish is unique in flavor and a must try.
The interiors are are simplistic, hygienic and in my opinion one must visit the place. The ambiance is lovely and chilled out. Will i be back? Of course i will.

I am acquainted with this chain of restaurant but have not reviewed this particular outlet.Though i am not a fan of big common seating arrangement, i just somehow am not so fussy here. The interiors are just grand!
The place is not such a reasonable place, and might seem a little expensive as the portion size are a little small and you might have to order about ten plates for a meal for two people.

On to the delicious food- i recommend trying the salads and breads, which were both simply amazing.I Absolutely love everything about this place. The chef is fantastic! Plus the selection of wine is pretty good.
Love it.

I really loved the ambiance here , they have done some pretty good stuff with the place. The staff was very nice and welcoming too , we were always greeted very politely with a soft voice.
Our dishes came very early and I really liked their speed for that.
I had rich black coffee too and it was amazing, you must try this.
This place is highly recommended by me.

This place offers the most mouth watering, fresh food while using the most organic ingredients they have in store. After having tried the tuna, I can definitely say that it had the perfect balance of flavours due to the use of wasabi cream and the garnishing. Sad that we could not try more such brilliant things on the menu, because there is only so much a man can eat. The menu here seemed unique and out of the box, with a dash of newness. A must try to fulfil your gluttony !

We visited this place on a weekday evening and was able to get a table for 3 without any reservations. I am a vegan, and therefore I ordered everything vegetarian on the menu, even though everything had a bit of cheese in it. The broccoli and zucchini truffles, the potato parcels and the lamb are some of the must-haves. The food was also reasonably prices and was not heavy on the pocket.

This place is an absolute treat! First of all, you'll need a reservation as this place is very popular. Everything I ordered at this place was perfect and extremely palatable. The menu is curated well, just the right amount of choice without being overwhelming. I particularly enjoyed the sea bass and the aubergine dishes, but all were lovely. We got good guidance from our server and everything arrived at the right temperature, without taking too long. The real treat are the desserts!
The cheesecake with rhubarb was a revelation. The coconut macaron and the Bailey's chocolate cake were both marvellous! A very reasonably priced restaurant and amazing food. Definitely coming back!

Where Non-Vegetarian food supersedes everywhere in choices, this place is a Vegetarian’s Delight. Astounding and so refreshing a menu, delicious and varied. We ordered meat and fish dishes as well and they were well cooked and satiating, puddings, passion fruit meringue and the chocolate torte, all were lovely and delighting. The staff is attentive, amicable and really knowledgeable. We tried orange wine which we had never heard of and learnt the difference between organic and bio dynamic wine. Group seating's are perfect for occasions. Slightly overpriced but worth visiting!

Ottolenghi happens to possess a variety of cuisines prepared in their own style which is quite different and exciting. If you happen to be a regular at Ottolenghi then you'd know about the Ottolenghi touch in their dishes. Adequate amount of spices. Price has always been a constraint though but I would recommend this place for the food they have to offer and the taste especially the Ottolenghi touch.

This place scores big in the food department. The interiors are not that attractive and therefore there was zero atmosphere. But the menu is what might invite you to this place. It has a varied range of amazing innovative dishes with great flavors. I quite liked the size of portions here which were appropriately small and to my liking. This way you can taste many dishes without be over powered with only a few. Loved the food!

Great words around for this place, yet to me it did not appear that appealing. The meal served was not filling and left me hungry. Their 3 courses combined could not make up for the size of one normal starter. The main menu was just 3 cubes of cheese and at a huge price. The starter was delicious yet too tiny. The Cheesecake i had for dessert was just average , nothing really special about it. A good restaurant for the extremely rich, who want to nibble just a bit. Could be better if meals were full and less pricey.

If you know Ottolenghi's recipes then you won't be disappointed by his food here. A changing, seasonal menu of very Ottolenghi salads will overwhelm as you enter but don't worry - it's all very good, there's no danger of 'ordering badly'. There is a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian at lunchtime. Limited options leave room for the incredible sides.
There will most likely be a queue for takeout but once you get inside the atmosphere is noisy, busy, bustling but service is friendly and quick and helpful.
The thing with Ottolenghi is the flavourings, they're always strong,  middle Eastern and balanced but leave room for the main ingredient to shine through. Cakes may look tempting but they're not quite as good as the savoury stuff.

I love Ottolenghi. I'd kidnap Yotam himself just to keep him as my personal chef: he's beyond amazing. I love the mix of Mediterranean and Middle East flavour of his plates, the ingredients choice is superbe and the atmosphere of his outlets so relaxed, clean, effortlessly stylish. I love his salad, I usually have the 3 salads mix as a main and then indulge in some of his divine cakes. It is definitely worth a stop, whether you are looking for a brunch spot or want to have a delish lunch. There's usually a bit of queue if you don't have a reservation but it's worth to wait some minutes!

Oh.My.Gawd. I won't be surprised if Ottolenghi calls his next book Serendipity. I was unexpectedly in London for a boring work meeting yesterday, which unexpectedly finished early, so I unexpectedly found myself right next door to Ottolenghi and unexpectedly found out a friend was in town too, asking did I fancy lunch at Ottolenghi? Did I? I have had dreams about it!

The menu is simple but amazing - I just wanted to ask for a big spoon and enough time to work my way through everything. However the very helpful waitress helped me narrow it down to three amazing salads and some bread. Doesn't sound like much? It had to be seen to be believed, and tasted.

It's all very relaxed at Ottolenghi, it was busy but we got a table no problem. Serendipity you see. It's so clean, so fresh and so amazing. If like me, you cook form Ottolenghi books ALL the time, you'll be familiar with the flavours of the Middle East, but being faced with them all at once was almost overpowering. Luckily I kept myself composed and enjoyed every last mouthful.

I was only sad that I simply couldn't contemplate a cake, wow, they looked amazing. I'll just need to return, and maybe plan it next time so that I can eat for longer and try EVERYTHING...

Ottolenghi is always a good option for lunches and dinners with its amazing salads and meals. But, the other day I and a friend went on the Islington brunch for breakfast and it was delicious. We had to endure a queue during around 20 minutes but it was worth. The breakfast menu has good options and try to escape from the expected, adding hearty meals to the offer. My friend opted for a Shakshuka, a dish with eggs, peppers and tomatoes and it was delicious. I opted for a more common dish: scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. It was cooked to perfection and had a nice little salad on the side. We really enjoyed the dishes and the atmosphere. I love weekend breakfasts and it was great to discover that Ottolenghi is also good on this apart from its well known lunch and dinner.

One place I’ve always had on my to-eat bucket list was Ottolenghi, a very well-known branch of eateries that serves Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern inspired cuisine, and I finally had the chance to visit in September. Although the prices are a little bit steep for what they serve (mainly salads), the food was fresh and vibrantly flavourful, and it’s definitely a place I’d like to return to for brunch someday!

The menu is quite simple- there are a selection of salads and main courses and you can pick and select what you’d like to eat (either 3 or 4 salads or 2 salads/3 salads with a main- obviously the prices are different). I’m not entirely sure how regularly the menu changes but it’s slightly different from the menu they have up on their website.

I decided to go for 3 salads- the roasted aubergine, butterbean hummus and roasted saffron cauliflower. They were all very delicious and packed with flavours, spices and textures- sweet, sour, tangy, chewy, crispy- you have it all! My personal favourite was probably the cauliflower, which was both crunchy and sweet and went very well with the hummus.

Desserts were also delicious- I particularly liked the fig cake which was utterly decadent and moist, and came with a sweet raspberry centre. The blueberry and lemon cake was also nice but the texture was more dry- I prefer something more akin to a lemon drizzle cake instead.

Overall it was a lovely meal!

Distinctive mix of Middle Eastern flavours with a Western twist, Israeli born Yotam Ottolenghi frames himself to having the best salads in London.

The restaurant interior is very simple, a deli by the front with an array of tasty bakery sweet treats and a colourful all sorted salad selection. Plain white tables fit the mood, and shows off the vibrant colourful dishes well.

Between the eight of us we ordered two dishes each, but shared everything amongst us. Caramelised candid peaches, chunks of Roquefort milk blue cheese, spicy pecans with mixed bitter leaves.

Smeared apple and cauliflower puree, filled with bright orange Chana Dal, carrots and black radish pickle. Topped with a pan-fried Pollock, it was the sharp flavours from the apple that made it memorable for me.

The next dish came in a contrasting scale of greens covering orange sticks of roasted carrots, and garden peas. This one had to more of sweet dish, from the carrots and honey, orange dressing.

Poached lobster came in four big hunks of meaty bites, along with green tomatoes, citrus sharp lime salsa and pickled cucumber.

Five spiced quails cooked until both sides have grilled marks with a pink inside. Tasted familiar to the Asian flavours use to having. To add drama to the plate, a combination of rhubarb and apple salsa with pickled yellow mustards seeds.

I tried this restaurant with a group of friends for breakfast and we were all satisfied.

On our visit I tried "cannellini bean stew with bacon and chorizo", wow that was hot but good. I can't exactly remember what the others had but no one complained about their dishes. The quality of the food seems to be pretty high and taste is just excellent! Price is reasonable and we didn't wait too much before we got served.

I truly suggest it.

Sunday lunch at 3.30 pm, no reservation, ZERO minutes wait...WINNING (i am the queen of eating at odd times). Fresh fresh fresh delicious food, super friendly service, and a very interesting wine list (orange wine? :)), and actual value for money - 2 salads and a main for under 15 quid...outstanding. Basmati rice and curried cauliflower salads - amazing - chickpeas, lentils, coriander, cumin, raisins? almonds? pistachios? I skipped desert...I have amazing will power, but i hadn't done anything to deserve those fabulous cakes...

There is usually a long line to wait to be able to get one of the delicious looking cakes you will see in the window. WOW! They do make a great effort in presentation. All the sweet tooth of Islington will be there. There is barely any place to sit down. i just went there to get a special selection of cakes for my roommates one afternoon where i was feeling generous. The success of the cakes was immediate and the next day we came back for more. I can not afford to go there too often but if I could I would. Every time I walk past this place I have to turn my head to avoid walking in and getting a few cakes. Go there for a sneaky one you will not regret it.

From service, seating and ambience to the flavor of every single dish I ordered, ottolenghi Islington did not disappoint. The food arrived quickly, was plated to perfection and tasted special. It really felt like drama in the mouth! My favorites were the burrata salad and asparagus stems - excellent ingredients with surprisingly flavorful dressing. We went on to have three desserts split across two people, and if I could physically have fit another one, I would have! Shoutout the buttery Financier and the excellent cheesecake. I went here to celebrate an anniversary, and it was a great choice. For such a well known name, the prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent. Happy to note that the fame has only made ottolenghi better.

The pastries are divine. Stopped in to have some for breakfast. The fruit financier was rich, buttery and almond-y. The chocolate tart was intensely chocolate. Both had a dollop of creme fraiche balanced out the tastes. The fruit (peach, blackberry, cherry) were perfect. With the hot chocolate and black americano brought the total to just a teeny bit over £10 each.
