TRUST ME, waiting for this delish restaurant is worth the wait. From the moment I sat down, to the moment I folded my napkin to leave, it was all 100% pure sensory pleasure. Anything you order on the menu is going to be a major party for your gustatory cells aka: taste buds. A very special THANK YOU to all the staff and wait-staff for your kindness and your attention!
We ended up here at random, because the place we intended eat had had a kitchen fire so were closed for the evening. Mango down the street was surprisingly good. A more refined take on the Punjabi food I normally eat in basic East London cafes.
My companion's lamb biryani was quite impressive and complex. Very tender braised lamb and lovely caramelized onion. I liked the use of some whole spices so that you got the crunch of cumin seeds, for example. Balanced by the freshness of raw coriander and mint. The raita it was served with had been slightly sweetened which introduced another contrast to the savoury rice.
I had a starter portion of lamb chops, a garlic nan, and some bhindhi massala. Lamb chops were very tender but maybe not quite as punchy in terms of spicing as some of the East End cafes, but also less greasy. Accompanying salad was much more upmarket than anything I have had in East London. There was a wide variety of greens and it was served on a pool of good green chutney as well as with a wedge of lemon. Okra was tasty with complex spicing and still had some bite. Sometimes this dish can be cooked to a slimey death but the texture was good here. I've never met a garlic nan I didn't like, but at Mango they are quite restrained with the use of fat which I found pleasing.
In general a very nuanced version of Punjabi food, and less oily than the standard offerings. The house rose is an affordable £20 a bottle.

I had always thought curries were in east or west London only. But in the last month alone, London Bridge and South London is standing up and representing too. Est.India and now Mango Indian are part of my curry club adventure which is taking me across London and even Kent. Mango Indian, off Southwark Road have crafted bespoke menu options by fusing traditional dishes and modern concepts to deliver food that is full of natural flavour. They have been open for many years and are very popular with the locals. The aim now, is to spread the word and get pople from far and wide down to this nice restaurant.
Went for a business meeting at lunch time. Great set menu option with some fantastic tasting dishes. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Would recommend to book as it does get busy at lunchtime
One of best Indian restaurants in the area.
Food is yummy and staff very courteous. Ideal place to hangout with your friends. Book table in advance as it is mostly full.
Great Indian restaurant in heart of London. It’s hard to find a spot during walk in, better to go by appointment.
Food is rich in flavours. Service is quick and good portion size. Not very expensive.
Loved the complementary treat they gave to our little one.
This place is absolutely DELICIOUS, there are so many options to choose from, a very big vegetarian selection, I love it so much. Been there many times and the staff is super lovely as well. I highly recommend it!
Had Dinner at this restaurant one time and since then this place is my favorite one. They take care of every order right and don’t let you wait any longer. Excellent services, they maintain cleanliness and take care of your need. Special thanks to Mr. Ashutosh always there to help everyone with smiling face.😊
The good place to experience the Indians food. Good Atmosphere and good service that they are providing. Before you visited the reading you have to do the online reservation via theirs website because they only allowed the reservation customers.
The ordered foods were good. Especially the Garlic Naan and Panner Curry was very excellent and the Mushroom Rice and Chetinat Chicken Curry also very taste. I hope other Indians foods also having the taste.
Overall the food, atmosphere and service was good and I recommended who are needing the Indians foods just visit here.
Delicious food, excellent service and lovely atmosphere.
Highly recommended 😊
We ordered Aalu tikki and achari paneer as starters and honestly my family was so happy with it.
Tarka daal was just like home.
All the food had proper Indian taste and was perfect for Indian cuisine.
Absolutely lovely food! The salmon tikka was tasty along with the sag paneer. I would recommend to anyone looking for high quality and delicious Indian food. Our sever Ali was very polite and helpful! Will be returning when we’re back in London
I had an excellent lunch experience and the service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome. Our orders were taken promptly, and our food arrived hot and delicious. The waitstaff checked on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, the exceptional service truly enhanced our meal. I highly recommend for anyone looking for top-notch service along with delicious food. Thanks to Ali.
booked here on a whim for some overseas friends of mine who love Indian food.
Nobody was disappointed.
Staff are amazing, chef is a genius! we came away happy, full barely able to walk. Not a scrap of food was left.
The place is small so make sure you book.
Can't recommend enough!
This was the best Indian food I have ever had! Every dish was delicious! The service was fabulous. Our waiter Ali was attentive and friendly. He even gave my daughters a special treat. I give this restaurant 5 stars plus! Don’t miss out!
Nice place, very nice ambiance. Food was good, I would not call it great but it was good, worth going there again. Service was excellent. Prices were on the high side of London prices, so might actually reconsider going there. I don't like my food too spicy but my friends do and they both said it was not as hot as they had asked for. Naans were good enough but no difference between garlic and garlic-chilli naan in taste. Chana Masala was good, just a tiny bit too salty but enjoyable. Cucumber raita was fantastic.
Taken one star off because they charged us £2 extra when we were dividing the bill. They had already added 12.5% service charge to the bill so, no excuse. Two days ago also we had dinner in a place where they added service charge, but when paying the bill the waitress pointed it out and asked if we were ok with that. We were. At Mango Indian, no such courtesy.
So, overall a nice place but a bit slipshod in financial matters.
The food was incredible. Service was absolutely perfect. The charming server even brought surprise ice-cream to the children. We left with full, happy stomachs, and light hearts. It was a wonderful lunch. So far the best meal we've had in London.
This restaurant had phenomenal food. Everything we had was excellent. The service was top notch, and the servers at this restaurant were more attentive than other restaurants we visited in the UK.
It is only a 10-minute walk to The Globe and less than a 5-minute walk to Borough Market. There are also a lot of little shops near there.
If you like Indian food, you will enjoy Mango Indian. I will definitely go here again if I go back to London. It is some of the best Indian food I have had. Make sure to get a reservation (even if you are calling to make reservations later that evening). It is recommended (and sometimes required) by many restaurants in London.
Visiting London and stumbled upon this restaurant. Food was excellent, service was excellent. Could not ask for a better meal. Nicest we've had in London. Very attentive towards our kids. Definitely recommend this to those who like Indian food. Stunning food
The restaurant was recently renovated. Good food, service and ambience. One mistake was they added some other food item which we didn't have, so check you bill carefully before paying!
Great Indian cuisine - some of the best I've had in London. Small restaurant but buzzing atmosphere and good service. The Chicken tikka starters and seafood selection were great. As well as the Goan Jinga and Lamb chop mains. We will definitely be back.
Great Indian with a really good level of service. Price is fairly reasonable for the area. Would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for an Indian restaurant in the area. The Rogan Josh was particularly good!

Ali served us and he was very helpful with the menu.
Great service, fantastic food.
Well done chief!
The greatest Indian restaurant in London!
Really good find. Excellent food. Felt more authentic than your standard Indian restaurant (I'm not an expert in such things) and service was top notch. Will be back
