Trishna is very famous among the local crowd for the very reason that it is a Michellin star restaurant. The food quality is amazing, especially the seafood varieties. Service was quick. Staff were friendly and attentive. The interiors were wonderfully done and well kept. Prices, I thought, were in terms with the quality they provide though some might find it to be a bit on the higher side. Definitely recommended!

Went here early doors before going to a show at the Apollo. The staff recommended the potato Bel Puri starter which was delightful. We followed up with a paneer dosa and aubergine curry with lemon rice. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. With poppadoms, beer and service it came to just over £40, which is less than we would have paid in Leeds! We begged the staff to open a second restaurant near our home, it was so good. Please don't miss this place, even if you a meat eater. The food is beautiful, price great and it is ideally situated for the Apollo. Enjoy!!

It’s a tiny place with good and courteous staff. The wall murals and the candles on table give a hint of cozyness in the ambience. Food was good. Not great though as I had thought it to be. We had lemon rice, paneer and a starter(sorry forgot the name). For drinks we had a mango smoothie.

One of the good Indian restaurant in the heart of London. The ambience was good with old photos about india hanging on the walls. The staff were warm and courteous. For starters ordered the veg sheek kebab which was very soft as expected. The mint chutney added to the taste. They had served some aplams, papad and sabudana chips which were good with the tamarind chutney. For the drinks ordered the litchi with mint and mix of some more fruits. It tasted tangy but the glass had more of ice cubes and less of juice. Main course was simple with paneer Chettinad and Hyderabadi yellow dal with garlic naan. The paneer Chettinad was one of the best I have had in recent memory. The dal was just about okay. The naan were crisp the way I wanted. Overall a very good experience.

[update]: went again and this time the food was okay.

I usually do michelin star restaurants as a one off, but dare I say not only the restaurant was good but even worth the money. You could spend anywhere between 20-100 pounds with the different menu options. They gave a detail account of what exactly we were eating. The portion size are very generous.

Before there was 2016 critics’ favourite Hoppers, there was its culinary daddy, Trishna. The Sethi family are legends in London, their magic touch extending from Michelin-starred Trishna and Gymkhana through to Lyle’s and street food turned bricks and mortar Bao. Their first love though is Indian food. Due to its (Brenty?) wave of immigration from the Indian subcontinent, Britain has been blessed by a profusion of restaurants serving Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi food. You can still see the legacy of these restauranteurs trying to cater to the British palates of old by the appearance of dishes like prawn cocktail on curry house menus.

Trishna is the big sister restaurant of Gymkhana, under the same ownership. While Gymkhana gets more of the plaudits these days, probably because of its location and trendier decor, Trishna draws in the Indian families. You know that an Indian restaurant is authentic when there are plenty of Indian families dining there. After all, you wouldn’t dine out at a restaurant which makes mediocre curries that your mom can make better at home. The slight difference with the two restaurants is that Gymkhana focuses more on meat and game, while Trishna specialises in seafood dishes.

I love the concept of seafood and Indian food but our favourite dishes at Trishna were similar to the ones they have at Gymkhana, but I prefer the Gymkhana versions as well as the vibe there better. The service was very weak on the night that we were there, though to be fair, our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. However we struggled to get his attention and waited for a very long time between ordering drinks to order the food. Maybe they were under staffed or perhaps service was slower because there was a large party of around fifteen people dining there on that evening. The lamb chops are a must! Delicious.

Fantastic, somehow a step up on gymkana, it's sister restaurant, if that's possible. Our only problem was we went with our eyes bigger than our stomachs so over ordered.

Standout dishes were definitely the lamb tandoori and the Dorset brown crap. But to be honest you can't go wrong really.

Really liked the wine list , plenty to choose from at reasonable prices

£75 a head in a group of 6. Starters, mains, two bottles of wine and a cocktail or two . But as mentioned earlier we could have ordered less and been fine.

Trishna is one of few halal Indian Michelin stared restaurants in London and has been on my list for a long time. They offer a decent lunch bites menu, where 2 dishes £19 per person, 3 for £24, 4 for £29 and 5 for £34. I ordered a total of 6 dishes which are the following, plus lamb chops from the la carte menu for £18.

Starters
Paneer tikka anardana [fried onion, mint, corn & pomegranate chat] Punjabi vegetable samosa chat [chickpea masala, tamarind, sweet yoghurt]

Mains
Andhra lamb masala [curry leaf, coastal spices] Moplah seafood biryani [seabass, shellfish, coriander, pink peppercorn raita] Sides
Bread basket, basmati rice, Hyderabadi dal and wild mustard potatoes
Desserts
Gajar halwa [heritage carrot pudding, masala chai kulfi, cake] Cardamom kheer [fig, raisin, pistachio, cardamom]

First of all, there was a lot of food and the portions where great, I was very pleased with the amount of food that arrived, I was very well fed and stuffed after lunch. I have to say I was expecting more for a Michelin stared restaurant, apart from the lamb chops nothing stood out or really made an impression. The lamb chops where very thick and very good, cooked well and Burnt on the outside not dry, and very juicy and moist inside infused with a tandoori flavour a very good piece of meat here.
The paneer was underwhelming but the samosa chaat was light, well textured and good start. The lamb curry was bland and uninspiring, the seafood biryani was cooked well but nothing outstanding.

For dessert, I rounded a nice meal off with a well made Kheer with Kufi, served cold just how I like it.

Venue wise, the space is small and similar to a cafe in Shoreditch, I was expecting better from the decor and the service was rather average for a one star Michelin. Booking was required and we were shown to out table at 1.45pm straight away. I just felt the staff where slight unattentive. Each meal was introduced when brought to the table as standard by a restaurant with a Michelin Star.

The total bill was under £70 which is very good considering it is a Michelin starred restaurant. However, after leaving I noticed that they charged me for 2 dishes per person and not 3, so result! All in all, I think the lunch bites menu was great value and food was filling.

I like Trishna, the price is very reasonable even without the offer and both the service and the cooking is a massive step up to your local Indian curry joint. The real question for me is... does it live up to a Michelin star, that I am not too sure as it is hard to compare Asian to European cuisine.

A revitalized and re-energized new avatar for Gymkhana's older sister. The food has discovered its personality, new found courage and conviction in solid cooking and spice - I say this, having visited a few years ago and finding the food dull beyond belief. Highlights from what we ate - telicherry pepper squid, kohlapuri jheenga, tandoori lamb chops, guinea fowl biriyani, cardamom kheer. Everything else was absolutely fine as well but these were significantly fantastic. Wine list very good value and variety to be found. Chilli vodka cocktail - fantastic. 1/2 a point off for service - while staff was friendly and knowledgeable, I spent a fair amount of time struggling to just catch their eye. The room is long and perhaps narrow for the seating, perhaps that's why? Anyhow, Trishna has rediscovered itself this year, and we are all the luckier for that. And for all other aspiring Indian chefs and restaurateurs out there - cook it, with conviction, and they will come...

Trishna is a Michelin star restaurant serving delicious Indian food. They do a variety of set menus – you can choose from tasting menu, express lunch, five course veg, five course non-veg, seven course veg, seven course non-veg, and so many more you end up spending forever studying the menus. We got a bit overwhelmed and decided to order from the a la carte menu instead.

We finished ordering from the a la carte menu. The waiter paused for a few seconds, and picked out one of the menus from the table and pointed at it. As it turned out, our orders were very similar to the Express Lunch menu, so it made sense to go with that instead. We also ordered an extra eggplant dish that we really wanted to try, and a bread basket (because the Express Lunch menu comes with rice, not bread)

The express lunch menu was just under £20 per person (£17 + service charge) – you get starter, main, dal, and basmati rice. It also comes with a glass of wine, which we swapped for Coca Cola.

Trishna is not a fine dining restaurant, but it’s not a cheap and cheerful curry house either. They do delicious food and good service – great atmosphere, and just the right amount of formal-feel. We liked it a lot.

Better in the evening. The place looks a bit unprepossessing and it often looks empty. Don't let that put you off because the food is really quite good. They do a food/wine flight – as I believe it's called in the business which is interesting and well thought out.

I think that the food is the best in the area for upmarket Indian cooking and worth a try. I've eaten there four times and enjoyed it each time.

The restaurant itself is slightly lacking in atmosphere and a bit clinical but forget that and concentrate on the food. Lunchtime is a bit empty and lacking in atmosphere but it livens up a bit in the evening.

The waiters were excellent and it was nice for once not to be informed of the time they want you in and out. Instead they just let us take our time, bringing some moreish poppadoms and a great mango chutney to start things off. It was a strange experience having a sommelier recommend a wine to compliment my curry, but the bottle of Austrian Chardonnay (£30 for 500ml) was excellent.

Trishna is located in Marylebone, and I have walked past this place quite a few times as I live quite close, and I had always wanted to go to Trishna, and after I found out it was awarded its first Michelin star in September I was even more keen, and when my friend Steven suggested he wants to go for dinner and have some Indian food, I was quick to suggest Trishna. I have read a lot about Trishna when they won their Michelin star and also because they apparently have a great sommelier there, a wonderful lady, and she was there when I went for dinner on a Tuesday and I did compliment her and tell her I had read about how amazing she was at combining wine with Indian food, as it is not the most straightforward thing and has not been the most typical thing historically. But here in Trishna every item on the menu also has under it written a type of wine that w

I knew very little about Trishna other than looking over their menu on the way out of its next door neighbour on Blandford Street, Roganic. The description of the dishes looked interesting so it was somewhere that I’d filed as worth checking out sometime. The award of its first Michelin star in September 2012 provided a further reminder that it should be a priority to visit. Trishna opened in 2008. The focus of the restaurant’s cooking is playing on the coastal cuisine of Southwest India.  Karam Sethi is the chef/patron and his sister Sunaina is sommelier and front of house manager. Karam trained in India as well as at Zuma before The fish course seems to be a signature dish at Trishna. The Hariyali Bream comes with green chilli, coriander, tomato and kachumbar. Although it didn’t look that great when it first arrived, the fish was a delight, yielding to the fork, and an excellent way to underpin the dish. The spicing with lingering notes of ginger complemented the fish perfectly. The

So for me Trishna is a revelation. It’s a cross between a modern curry house and western cuisine with a focus on seafood and charcoal grilling, both of which I’m a fan of. Every dish was cooked extremely well and executed superbly, without being overdone. It may have some criticism for not being authentic enough, but it doesn't have to, it's perfect the way it is.

After a quick search on Google I find that Trishna is an Indian restaurant that sits in the heart of London’s Marylebone Village (England) and earned a Michelin Star for it’s food! Intrigue sets in as I haven’t been to any Michelin Starred Indian restaurants and Indian food happens to be one of my favorite cuisines.  It is supposed to be full of flavor with spices such as cardamom, clove, cinnamon, mustard seed, turmeric, and more.  One thing you cannot call Indian food is one-note.  One-note food by the way means food that is one-dimensional in flavor.  Given the variety of flavors present in Indian food, this just isn’t possible unless the chef doesn’t know what they are doing.  I accept the notice and make a mental note to leave enough calories in my daily budget to eat well tonight!

From the ridiculous to the sublime. After the intense suffering caused by an evening in Surrey Quays at Frankie & Benny's , I felt entitled to some kind of compensation. So when an invitation to try the revamped Trishna landed in my inbox, any fleeting worries about blogger ethics were quietly batted aside - I don't care if you think I'm irreversibly compromising my integrity, I deserve this. So, all the usual caveats apply to a press invite meal - the service was probably a bit more attentive, we had the best table in the house, and I can't ignore the possibility (however unlikely) that the kitchen paid a bit of extra attention to plating and pacing. All that said, though, there are certain things you just can't fake, no matter how hard you try, and I am convinced that the astonishing series of dishes produced at Trishna would have been just as impressive on any other evening, for any other lucky customer. The fireworks started from the very first moment - you know you're onto somethi

West Indian restaurant at the heart of Marylebone. Very nice atmosphere! Food is really really good. Just be careful if you are not into spicy food, since some of the dishes can be very spicy such as the mushroom basmati rice, that comes with a really good yogurt sauce to sooth it, or the broccoli samosas. The tandoori lamb chops are delicious as well as the tandoori baby chicken with lemon.

The Halal: The chicken and lamb are halal. The restaurant specialises in seafood so there are lots of options. Please note that pork and alcohol are served.

The Place: Situated in quaint Marylebone village, Trishna is not your average curry house! It was awarded a Michelin star in 2012 and once you’ve tasted the food it is evident why. The restaurant has a peaceful ambience with whitewashed walls and bronze poles hang vintage Indian prints. The furniture is decadent rosewood and the service is fit for a Maharaja.

The Food: Trishna has a variety of menus to choose from. We were there for lunch and ordered from the ‘lunch bites’ menu on this occasion.

We began our meal with yummy mocktails (virgin mojito, tropical punch and mango lassi) and poppadoms and chutney.

Next we embarked on starters. We ordered the Trishna seafood salad with haldi chipirones, scallops, tiger prawns and samphire. Each bite was refined and delectable and the amount of seafood on the plate was very generous!

The paneer tikka looked like a piece of art but could have done with a tad more seasoning- the taste did not really match the appearance.

The Haryali bream is a favourite of mine. The fish melts in your mouth with flavours of chilli and coriander that are complemented by the smoked tomato kachumber (salsa).

The starters were excellent and our expectations were high for the main courses. I ordered the tandoori lemon baby chicken which came as a leg piece cooked to perfection next to a bed of crunchy pressed rice. The textures of the dish were wonderful.

The Andhra curry was made of succulent lamb but wasn’t extraordinary. What WAS really special was the Kerala jheenga (prawn) curry. The tiger prawns were big and juicy and the sauce was extremely moreish- I just couldn’t get enough!

The mains were accompanied with rice, naan, Hyderabadi daal and a dry potato curry. These were all cooked well and pretty tasty.

Although we were completely stuffed we could not resist trying the tempting desserts. The aam malai dish was a mango cream slice served with fresh mangoes and a raw mango chutney. The cream was deeply rich and delicious. The chutney served in a shot glass had a bit of a kick- I couldn’t finish the whole thing.

I also tried the strawberry falooda which is a dish of strawberry ice cream on a bed of vermicelli and fresh strawberries. You pour over a masala milk flavoured with cardamoms. This was a great palate cleanser and quite different to the traditional falooda dessert.

A rather nice surprise at the end of the meal were white chocolates flavoured with Paan -an indian betel nut tobacco flavouring which is eaten after meals. I would go back just to have this again!

The Price: For the quality of food and ambience, I think Trishna is priced reasonably. The tasting menus are between £50-70 per person and the lunch bites menu is between £18.50-33.50 per person depending on how many courses you order.

The Verdict: The food at Trishna was excellent- as far as Michelin-starred Indian restaurants go, this one is definitely my favourite! It’s a shame that the game is not halal because some of the dishes looked really interesting. The lunch menu is particularly good value for money and my mum who is always critical about Indian restaurant food (because she is an amazing cook herself) loved it so I will definitely be going back! I also can’t wait to try their new sister restaurant Gymkhana in Mayfair.

Trishna has a minimalist edgy type of swank which makes it very swish indeed. The restaurant is decked with marble, oak and glass which is manipulated into clean smooth surfaces and edges. This creates a very urban classy décor which isn’t over bearing. Instead the candle lit table and grey hues on the wall are more energising than stuffy.

In this way Trishna is the setting for a casual, chilled out gathering with the back drop of a sociable buzz. As the dining space isn’t large the restaurant doesn’t lack in atmosphere even with a few diners around.

In addition the restaurant’s French doors can be opened out creating an alfresco feel without actually having to sit outside and there’s also a private dining room in the basement too.

Would I Want Seconds?
Yes, though judging by the generous portion sizes I wouldn’t be able to fit it in!
The restaurant claims to have a focus on seafood but they serve up a variety of fusion Indian dishes meaning you don’t have to like fish to enjoy the food here. Their dishes are unconventional but definitely appetising.

And to my intense please, Trishna serves the best potato chaat I’ve had in London. The perfect balance of sweet yogurt and tamarind chutney won me over straight away.

Could I Afford Seconds?
Although this isn’t a high end restaurant yet the prices are more on the steep side of things. However as with many restaurants these days, Trishna offers a range of deals and menus. This includes a Lunch Bites and Express Lunch option too.

Overall:
Trishna is the ideal relaxed but sophisticated venue for a meal. It’s also tucked away on a street down Marylebone and away from the hustle of the city. The dining offers also make Trishna even more worth a visit and so I would recommend it as something for everyone to try.

Having been there three times, I can say with certainty that Trishna is one of my favourite restaurants in London. Professionally serving sensationally good food in a great environment, the restaurant clearly deserves its one Michelin Star.

The thing that really sets Trishna apart from it's Indian rivals is that the meal will never land excessively heavily on your stomach, even if you do end up over-ordering. That's because the meticulous chefs seem to use light, healthy ingredients, rather than piling in the oil, cream and/or(?) butter that characterises so many restaurants themed on food from the Indian subcontinent. The lightness of the food is complimented by tapas-esque portion sizes, which allows you to taste and enjoy more of the excellent menu.

In my three visits, I have tasted and can highly recommend the following seafood dishes:

Nandu Varuval – A delicious, (crispy yet..) Soft Shell Crab served with white crab chutney (pictured).

Kasundi Jheenga – a large tiger prawn, seemingly sliced in half, grilled and served with cucumber and Indian mustard (pictured).

Hariely bream – A MUST TRY signature dish of Trishna (and my favourite) – a breath-taking, fillet of bream cooked in green chilli and coriander, served alongside smoked tomato kachumber (pictured).

I would also recommend trying the Quail pepper fry, a fried quail accompanied by a sumptuous, fried assortment of vegetables (pictured).

Less ‘unique’ but equally magnificent are the Gilafi Duck sheekh kebab, Lamb tandoori and the Tandoori Lemon Baby Chicken. The one and only dish that I wasn’t overwhelmed by was the Moplah Seafood Biriyani, but that is probably because I generally prefer Biriyani to be concocted with chicken anyway.

Trishna also do some super desserts; try the Stone Moss Bappa Doi, a yoghurt based dish with rubarb (pictured), and the Strawberry Kulfi Falooda. Finally, if you like Lassi, ask the waiter to make you an off-menu Rose Petal flavoured one to compliment your food; it was fantastic.

Perhaps the only real pitfall of Trishna is the price – it is rather steep. That said, food of the quality served by this gem of a restaurant simply does not come cheap.

This was my first visit since their early 2014 refurbishment, which turns out to have been far from radical. The room layout is the same though the lighting has changed, and apparently the kitchen is larger.

Duck chaat was a pleasant starter, with a definite chilli kick (13/20). Fried and spicy squid (chipirones) and samphire had tender squid and was an unusual and enjoyable dish (13/20). Cauliflower samosas came with a carrot, ginger and cauliflower chutney, and although perfectly pleasant, £10 for two very small samosas is hardly a bargain (12/20). Better was bream marinated with coriander and green chilli before being cooked in the tandoor, served with tomato “kachumber”, a salad of tomato, onion and cucumber. The fish had excellent flavour and had taken on the flavour of the marinade well, while the tomato salad was an effective accompaniment (comfortably 14/20).

Seafood biryani had scallops and sea bass and had nicely cooked rice, though this was not a patch on the best biryani that I have eaten in India (13/20). Tiger prawns with Keralan spices and a coconut-based sauce was enjoyable enough, though at £17 an extra prawn or two would not have gone amiss (13/20). The dish of the night for me was a side dish: bhindi was stir-fried and avoided even a hint of the sliminess that so often afflicts the dish – instead the okra was firm and dry, garnished with fennel and fenugreek seeds and coconut, and was delightful (15/20). Potato with curry leaves, ginger and chilli retained the texture of the potato properly (13/20), and a bread selection was fine, my favourite being a potato kulcha.

We tried a couple of desserts, a pleasant mango concoction involving mango jelly, mango cream and mango chutney (13/20) and chocolate cake with cashews and peanut jiggery ice cream, which was fine if unexceptional (12/20). Service was excellent, the Polish sommelier in particular genuinely knowledgeable and helpful. We drank assorted glasses of wine with the meal. With bhindi at £8, the bream starter at £14 and the potato side dish at £7 this all mounts up, our bill coming to £101 a head, the food element of the meal coming to £48 a head. If you drank modest wine then we could have eaten the same food for around £65 a head, but all the same this seems to me quite fully priced. It is cheaper than its younger sister Gymkhana, and overall I slightly prefer the overall experience at Trishna.

It was Sunday night, and what's the best thing to do on a Sunday? Go for a curry! But this was a curry with a difference.

In Marylebone, one of London's foodie hubs, lies Trishna, a gorgeous Michelin Star restaurant offering South West Indian cuisine. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and features an informal dining room with blue brick walls, antique mirror walls and slouchy banquettes.

There were three different flavours of the crispy nibbles which were served with a spicy dip and a mango chutney.

For a Michelin star restaurant, Trishna is incredibly reasonably priced. As Mr Silver loves Indian he looked greedily at the menu and proceeded to order too much food!

Starters were...

Tandoori lamb chops with chilli and ginger. These were perfectly cooked and deliciously spicy.

Shrimps, ginger and smoked chilli chutney. These were beautifully crispy and totally delicious. Trishna specialises in seafood so these were bound to be good!

Hariyali Bream with green chilli, coriander and smoked tomato kachumber. A beautiful emerald green piece of fish, perfectly cooked and flakey. The side dish of tomato was the perfect woody-tasting accompaniment.

Salmon tikka with a dill raita.

'To die for' I proclaimed!! The best dish of the evening. Lightly cooked salmon with a beautiful tikka marinade.

If all this wasn't enough for stater I insisted on order the selection of naan bread. I can't help myself when it comes to a good piece of naan!!

I liked two out three. The middle one was slightly sweet which I'm not keen on in a bread.

Main courses.

Seafood biryani containing seabass, shellfish and coriander. Lightly oiled, with perfectly cooked rice and a generous amount of seafood.

Lamb masala. My least favourite dish. Mr Silver loves lamb and really, really wanted to try this. I found it heavy and the stewed lamb just tasted chewy and over cooked. He happily finished it though.

We had a lot of food. But I would highly recommend Trishna. Fantastic Indian fine dining at a reasonable price! The neighbourhood of Marylebone is gorgeous too and there are plenty of foodie finds along the streets. Check it out!

From the ridiculous to the sublime. After the intense suffering caused by an evening in Surrey Quays at Frankie & Benny's, I felt entitled to some kind of compensation.

The fireworks started from the very first moment - you know you're onto something special when even the pappadum/chutney snacks make your head spin. All were impressive in different ways; there was one studded with dried shrimp, and a mango with I think nigella seeds, but the bright green coriander and chilli was just extraordinary, fresh and exotic and utterly addictive.

Nice place with a really good food, real value for money. The food was too much spicy but very good. Wine flights were great, well chosen to match all the courses.

It's not hard to find "indian restaurants" in central London. But it's pretty rare that the food is authentically Indian and of a good enough quality to make you want to come back again and again. Trisha checks all those boxes. The food preparations taste and feel truly authentic albeit it with some continental influences. But everything is of the highest quality and excellently presented.

The prices are in line with what you would expect at any high end restaurant in the marylebone area but its worth every pound.

I only tried a couple of the cocktails which complemented the food very well and were of the same quality. Certainly going back here in the near future.

It was cold and raining and I’ve just finished sipping on cocktails and gambling away in the hippodrome casino waiting for my table at their restaurant Heliot. Come 5:30pm I suddenly get a call from the hostess telling me that unfortunately the restaurant will not be opening this evening. Very frustrated I go on an aimless walk around Soho looking for an alternative. Thirty minutes later and I’m on Marylebone high street still no better off. Then i stumble upon the recent michelin star awarded Trishna, somewhere I have been meaning to try, so why not now?

Finally out of the rain we take a seat in this calm restaurant with pale grey walls and exposed brick work, the suitably authentic music was also very relaxing, I felt a bit like I was in a spa, it was all very serene. Trishna London is the sister restaurant to Trishna in Mumbai which has fantastic reviews, especially its seafood and it’s the same story here. While the food in Mumbai may be more traditional looking at its menu, Trishna London has definitely conformed to a more western influenced menu and very refined. Still, I quite like it this way, it’s unusual.

We decided on the set-menu with matching wine flight, this was £35.50 for four courses including 4 x 100ml glasses. Two neatly folded poppadoms shortly arrived at the table with some mango sauce and tomato chutney, both of which were delicately spiced and rich in flavour.

The first courses that were to come out far exceeded my expectations. On paper, potato chat sounds pretty simple, but how wrong could I be. Deep fried cubes of crispy potato with chickpeas, tamarind, sweet yoghurt, shallots and chilli, I was salivating on my first mouthful. Lots of acidity rushes through your mouth until you get a dose of tamarind/yoghurt sweetness. It was lovely, and just the right amount.

We went in group of 5 and all Five of us loved the excellent tasting menu at Trishna's, which offers real value for money its was delicious and resonable. Overall the food was fantastic, with sea bream the outstanding dish of trishna's. The service was of a very high standard with staff happy to substitute dishes from the vegetarian tasting menu if required. everything from reasonable to eye-watering. A nice relaxed atmosphere in the two classy, high-spec dining rooms. Will return for our next dinner soon

Trishna in Marylebone in contrast to famous restaurant Trishna in Bombay has a much more sedate appearance. Situated on Blandford street, the atmosphere left something to be desired with a far more low energy vibe than its bustling big sister Bombay restaurant.

To start with we ordered the Quail Pepper Fry and the Potato Chaat. This was the first time I've ever tried quail and I really liked it! The quail was lightly fried with hearty green beans and tomatoes with lots of pepper and curry leaves. The bite size morsels of quail were tender on the inside and deliciously crispy. The chaat was made with mix of chickpeas, onions, spicy green sauce, yogurt and sweet tamarind sauce with crunchy sev sprinkled on top. A very pleasant plate of food which brought back memories of home for me.

We then proceeded to order the grilled marinated Lamb Chops which were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The meat was cooked so well - I will be going back to Trishna just to solely have these again. The Haryali Bream was a bit of a let-down though. Despite being covered in a bright green chili coriander sauce, it paled in comparison to the tender, flavorful lamb chops. We also had some Hyderabadi Daal and stir-fried Okra with a selection of Naan breads - all of which went down very well.

So aside from the fact that I really think they should jazz up their decor a bit, the food is brilliant. Make sure you order the lamb chops. One for each person - it's worth it!

Came here for a birthday celebration and got the tasting menu. It was fantastic and we left stuffed! Would recommend but don't try to finish anything and ask for a takeaway lol my favourites were the scallop, crab curry and the spinach. They even gave us an extra dessert for my partners birthday!

Food 10/10 The perfect amount of spice for someone with an okay spice tolerance. Super flavorful dishes, and I didn’t feel like the heat was overpowering or taking away from the flavors. We ordered the chutney to start, and I loved the lightness of the rice crisps, while the mango chutney was outstanding. For appetizers, we got the soft shell crab, fried squid and shrimp, and scallops. You can’t go wrong with any of those dishes, but my favorite was the soft shell crab, as it came with a beautiful sauce. A lot of frying though, so I was already feeling the meal when the mains came. The cashew chicken can be skipped, but the lamb leg I highly recommend–a bit of smoke and a lot tender. Next time, would skip on the naan just due to the sheer amount of food they serve. Atmosphere 9/10 Super cool vintage/rustic industrial vibes, with some mirrored panel walls and a beautiful selection of lighting. Comfortable seats and quite intimidate yet modern feel. Service 10/10 Very friendly service, accommodating and made sure that we were happy with what we ordered and the pace of the meal.

I was invited to lunch here by some very good friends and it took a little time to make this work for us all. We started lunch after 1pm and worked through the menu more than we planned. The service was on another level of excellence. The taste of everything was just so good. I had a mango beer which so nice and refreshing than my normal larger type beer with an Indian meal. Best lunch in many years. Has to be done again.

Visited Trishna on a short trip to London from Canada with an old friend who is local to the city and a sommelier in training. We had the lunch tasting menu and enjoyed several cocktails, a masala chai, and a lovely sweet wine. The food was delicious. It did not stray too experimental from classic Indian flavours but offered a consistently rich selection with every course. We were so full we could barely finish the mains. Loved this place. The wait staff was friendly and the interior was gorgeous. The only thing was that I found the chai a bit too sweet for my tastes, but otherwise everything was perfect.

High-end Indian cuisine. Food with a twist, we had the lunch menu that we enjoyed, good balance and combination of tastes. desserts were less interesting. We took the small lunch menu and the potions were generous. Food allergies and restrictions were taken in account.

I visited with my mother to celebrate her birthday booking a week ahead for a 1pm Saturday slot. I noted that it was her birthday in the reservation, requesting a small cake at the end of the meal. We were warmly welcomed by staff, with the menu explained opting for the 3-4 course lunch/early evening set menu with varied options. Unlike a previous non-starred restaurant, this menu included papad with dips, naan, rice, and sides. We both chose 4 courses—vegetarian for her, non-veg for me. We ordered drinks: mango lassi for my mum, salted lassi for me. Mum liked the mango lassi's texture and notable mango flavor. My salted lassi was well-spiced but too thick and lacked sufficient salt. The papad arrived promptly, offering a mix of varieties from standard 'poppadoms' to spiced tapioca crackers—an appetizing assortment. The accompanying chutneys enhanced the experience. A spicy mint & coriander sauce paired exceptionally with the sweet mango chutney. The tomato-based sauce was also delightful with the papad. All sauces were a hit, nearly wiped clean! Just before finishing the papad, our initial courses arrived: Mum's aloo chaat and my soft shell crab. Mum enjoyed the chaat as an ideal opener. The crab boasted a decadently seasoned, crispy batter; the accompanying paste and garnishes elevated it. Some uncooked batter inside the crab was a minor issue, not ruining the dish for me. Our second course followed swiftly. Mum chose the badami broccoli, while I opted for the trout. Although I can't personally comment on the broccoli, Mum found it delicious and perfectly cooked, striking the perfect balance between 'al-dente' and overly soft. As for the trout, it was remarkable! Marinated and tandoor-finished, it sported a gorgeously browned exterior and tender, juicy interior—truly melt-in-the-mouth. The complementary yoghurt sauce expertly balanced the flavors, rendering the dish perfect in my view. The third course marked the 'curry' round for us, though the menu doesn't use the term. These dishes transcend local curry houses. I chose lamb, while Mum picked paneer. The sides included spicy baby potatoes, a rich tarka daal style dish, intoxicatingly fragrant basmati rice, stuffed garlic naan, and ajwain spiced naan. Two notable things struck us: the generous portion sizes and the diverse range of flavors. The food itself was impressive. The lamb was tender, not drowning in oily sauce, and paired well with rice and naans. The potatoes offered a delightful kick with balanced seasoning. Mum enjoyed her paneer but wished for more spice, a sentiment I shared after trying it. By now, we were practically full, leaving only a bit of rice and naan. Observing others taking home leftovers, we realized it was an option if needed, so no pressure to overindulge. Desserts arrived: kulfi, kheer, and a discreetly arranged birthday cake with a signed card from the staff—an unprecedented touch. The kheer's citrus twist and orangy ice cream balanced beautifully, textured with pistachios. The double-layered kulfi, plain and rose-flavored, rested on vermicelli, adorned with soaked basil seeds—a colorful and tasty delight. We finished our meal with masala chai to accompany the birthday cake. The chai was a tad watery and could've been milkier for my tastes. The cake (our favorite, chocolate) caused no issues, and notably, it wasn't on the final bill. What an unforgettable meal! Worth every penny. The early set menu was £45 per person, drinks were £6 each, totaling £130 with the 12.5% service charge, gladly given. Impeccable care and attention crafted a flawless experience. Service was attentive, the 4-course meal left us delightfully full. Decor balanced dark furniture with soft lighting for an intimate atmosphere. Spacious tables avoided any sense of crowding, despite the busy restaurant. Trisha is a must for a true Michelin Star dining experience that exceeds expectations. Eager to return for the full tasting menu. Lastly, if anyone from Trishna reads this, I send my heartfelt thanks for making my mother's birthday extraordinary.

We had an amazing time! The food was amazing. The spices and construction of the dishes was made with incredible taste, finishing with a high note on desert. See the photos attached. The best thing however was the service. In a casual way they found out the day before it was my girlfriends birthday. They quickly made sure to give her a small cake with a card congratulating her. It made everything a bit more special… Thanks for this amazing experience.

5 stars doesn't do justice to this place and the food. We went here for date night to celebrate an occasion and Trishna delivered a fantastic experience. We both had the vegetarian Taste of Koliwada tasting menu which has 5 courses and every course set our taste buds dancing with explosions of flavour. The best part of the food was the intensity of flavour which wasn't anglicized at all- the mint chutney was stunning with the flavour of mint and green chilli, exactly as I'd eat in Mumbai. The main course defeated us and we took the majority of it as takeaway in a bit to enjoy the puddings. Every course is explained, feedback is asked for and the staff is brilliant, catering to your every need. I loved it. We even got a piece of chocolate cake to celebrate the occasion. Amazing! 10 stars!!

Loved it! Definitely the most sophisticated Indian food I've ever had, all dishes were presented and cooked to the highest standard. Despite their acolades, they haven't lost their generousity. If you don't have much experience with fine dining yet, Trishna offers an excellenct introducton as they offer a lunch/early afternoon menu and/or by eating à la carte. It was simply a delight!

I chose the 5-course tasting menu, a daring endeavor for a solo diner. The house-made chai I indulged in was arguably the finest I've ever encountered. The initial Pandam mix, a delicate appetizer, was delightful, and the mint chutney exhibited an exquisite blend of heat and spice. The additional chutneys were equally splendid. The scallops, a highlight of the first course, featured a flawlessly glistening white coating upon being cut. The second course, a unique Indian dish featuring guinea fowl reminiscent of my travels in Oaxaca, was accompanied by perfectly kneaded and molded burrata bread. Although eagerly anticipating the tandoori lamb chop as the third course, while impeccably cooked and juicy, it slightly lacked the complexity of spices that I had anticipated. The fourth course, the coconut curry prawn, boasted an alluringly flavorful broth with a subtle and not overwhelming hint of heat. For those sensitive to spice, the coconut mango nan provided a harmonious contrast. The accompanying sides, such as the spicy corn and spinach, were equally commendable. Concluding with a clever spin on a traditional dish, the kheer served as the final course, offering a creamy and delicately sweet finale to the culinary journey.

It was a busy sunday. We both took a tasting menu. The staff was excellent in serving and advising. The tasting menu was good, but not exceptional. As it was my first time heaving dinner at an Indian restaurant with a Michelin star, I do not know how solid I can judge on this. Furthermore, I liked the winepairing menu, good combination with the food. There was a timetable, what I was not used to have (except that it got me think about time in the pandemic). Would liked it better when there was no end time.

Had a great experience here with the family. Neat and pretty restaurant with a soft vibe. Mango lassi was so good! The staff and service was mediocre (not as exceptional as we were expecting to be honest). They had some fun and unique dishes. We did the a la carte menu as we are not huge eaters so did not think the tasting menu would be worth it (we were right). Papadam platter and chutneys were nice. Mushroom biryani was super nice with the raita on the side. The coconut and corn tikki was rather soggy so we did not enjoy this as much but the rest of the food was good. Portions were decent size. Had a good experience here.

The food was faultless and lovely service. Soft shell crab was amazing as was the duck kebab. My only criticism was the sommelier I'm sorry to say. I had asked for a wine pairing and maybe because I was distracted by all the amazing food that was arriving perhaps he mistook this for ignoring him which I'm sorry if that was the case. But after that he was just plain rude when I later asked for a dessert wine pairing he just set the drinks down and immediately walked off. Even when we were leaving everyone else said good bye but he just looked at us pass by and said nothing. I'm sorry but this is poor customer service and I'd expect better professionalism even if he did feel slighted. It kind of ruined a beautiful culinary experience. I would like to return here and enjoy the lovely food

Booked here for lunch for 2 and opted for the lunch menu - 4 courses for £45 seemed a steal. One of us is vegetarian and this was covered easily with the choices. Food was fantastic, everything leaving a kick in the mouth from the spice but very well balanced individually. I also opted for the specially brewed beer, 4th rifles, to compliment. Special shout out to duck seekh with pineapple chutney and the mango & pistachio keehr! The 3rd course took us by surpise in a good way with curry dishes, naans, daahl, rice and side all included, when we thought it'd be a small plate. Service was fantastic and attentive throughout, and we left super satisfied and wanting to come back. Do check this place out.

Everything about this place is wonderful, definitely a must visit spot in London. My only watch out is to be mindful about portions, contrary to what you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant, all dishes have a considerable size. Also, Gulabi is the most amazing dessert I’ve ever had, the mix of flavors and textures are a unique experience!
