Peter Morrell goes back to this Bankside eaterie for Sunday lunch and finds it just as good as a year ago. Lovers of culture and cuisine continueto watched with pleasure at the unstoppable rise of attractions and amenities on London’s Southbank. After a very rewarding Sunday morning wandering around Tate Modern it was time for lunch. A five minute walk from the gallery is OXBO, a restaurant we reviewed about a year ago. It is located in the stylishly decorated Hilton Bankside hotel. This sophisticated theme extends into the restaurant, well spaced tables sit in a large, light dining space with floor to ceiling windows along one side.
Great starters, main is a choice, we ordered the chicken and roast beef, the desert table was very good. It would have been great if tea and coffee was included.
The salad and dessert bars have a good selection, and we all enjoyed those.
The egg station was good as well. I got eggs royale and then an omelette. The eggs were tasty.
I got the roast beef and really enjoyed that. All mains have to be ordered in advance on arrival.
My wife got the roast chicken which she thought was OK.
Our friend got the vege mains which was the gnocchi, which she hardly touched. Would suggest making a more appealing vegetarian option.
The venue, atmosphere and service was really enjoyable.
Would consider going back in group occasion.
We went on a Saturday afternoon for the four course bottomless brunch with unlimited starters from the salad bar, followed by choice of breakfast items from the chefs station (choose from eggs, pancakes and waffles), then main courses are served to the table to share then end with unlimited deserts from the sweet bar.
Bubbles are constantly topped up and service is really efficient and friendly. Only complaint is the dining room was really loud and I only caught half the conversation at my table! Great for a group event.
This is an experience. We went off Sunday for bottomless brunch. Food was incredible, Leona was so quietly attentive we couldn't have asked for a better service. My kids loved it and ate for free (both 4yo). The live music in the background meant the atmosphere was wonderful. Honestly loved this and will be back.
Been twice now for Saturday Bottomless Brunch. The glass is always kept full with Prosecco for 2 hours. All 4 courses were fab. 1st was the buffet salads, cold meats, olives, cheese, fish. So much fresh choice of food. Then it's the eggs, choose the type you want, I had the Eggs Benedict with extra hollandaise sauce. Delicious. There was also freshly made waffles and pancakes. Then came the sit down meat, fish and veg option. As my friend is vegetarian, they made an additional veg dish for her. Finally was the buffet choice of so many different types of dessert. Very good value for money. A great day out with friends and family.
Absolutely loved my time here. Great spot for brunch. The food was top notch - very fresh - and the customer service was great. Also loved the fact that there was live music
Had a good time and was greeted promptly. We had a good place at the restaurant and Cecilia helped us understand the process of getting food and ordering drinks. Very good service. Only negative I have was the air con was too cold but it wasn't that bad. Just put a scarf on and it was fine.

Amazing restaurant, excellent service and really flavoursome food.
Had a dinner with my wife during our stay at Hilton and really enjoyed the vibes. We got our starters promptly, which was soup of the day for her and duck rillettes for myself - both very flavoursome, good combination of ingredients and at the right portion. Must say at this point that waiting staff were very attentive and confident with recommendations (I really appreciate that when walking into a restaurant for the first time). As a result of our server’s suggestion, I had cod, which was listed in the special menu for the day if I’m not mistaken, and was spot-on; it was fresh, cooked perfectly, without a sign of a bone and excellent combination of flavours - easily comparable to a Michelin level restaurant.
Overall, it was a great evening and I would strongly recommend it.
Best bottomless ever!
This is my best friends and I favourite place.
Since we always loved to come here, we decided this time to celebrate on of our birthday. Unlimited starters and desserts buffet are great and unlimited prosecco was promptly topped up without needed to ask for it! Main courses were very tasty as usual.
Staff very attentive and friendly.
See you soon again! :)
Had a fab time here last Saturday. Go hungry as the 2 hour sessions cover 4 courses with a great variety of offerings. The cost of £55 for the bottomless brunch might be on the high side for some but this was by far the best experience of a bottomless brunch I’ve ever had.
The waiting staff were friendly and super attentive, constantly topping up your glass!
My one small issue is that we were one of several large groups that day and it became quite noisy ( the more we had to drink!) and adding in a guitar playing singer - who was very good, only added to the din. I’d certainly recommend this venue but people with a hearing issue will struggle.
We've had a lovely catch-up with friends over bottomless prosecco brunch. Fantastic choice of starters and deserts (buffet style), great mains (lamb to die for!). Also very friendly staff and great surroundings (loved the Xmas Nutcrackers). All of the above for £42 per person. Well worth it I say! 👍👍
Always love this place but don't always like the fish option (personal choice, its not that its not good). Anyway, our amazing waitress replaced the fish option with the lamb option but with the medley of veg sauce from the fish option. If that's not customer service I don't know what is? I wish I'd taken her name as she definitely deserves a tag on this post.
We stayed in the hotel where the restaurant is located. I decided to check out the dinner, and it was delicious, so that my family and I had dinner there for 3 days. I loved the bloody orange creme brulee tart, main course and various appetizers were great too. Attentive service and reasonable prices.
We pre booked a bottomless brunch with fizz. It did not disappointing, it was amazing.
The staff were super friendly and explained how it worked as you get unlimited starters, a egg/waffle course, then a meal followed by unlimited deserts.
So much food but it was tasty and fresh. Our glasses of prosecco were never empty and my partner also switched to white wine after some fizz.
A wide range of cold starters basically a great buffet. Every course was tasty, eggs benedict spot on. Main course we got chicken with mushroom sauce and mash, fish with saffron rice and tomato ragu with rice. Desert well everything you want.
2 hours of drinks and food were awesome.
Had a musician playing live music which added to the atmosphere. For £49 each it was fantastic value. We recommend to friends who went and they too were blown away by the food and service.
Great spot for bottomless brunch! Plenty of dishes to try out and everything was delicious. Service was excellent and the Prosecco got topped up faster than we could drink! 🥂
Would recommend going early (12.45/13.00) to avoid the crowds and queues at the buffet (and the influencers 🫣)!
-1 star because we got charged a cancellation fee of £20 after we had left. Despite advising well in advance via their website that we only needed a table for 2 instead of 3. Emails requesting a refund were ignored, refund was only processed after we phoned them.
Excellent restaurant with a fantastic offer 3 courses and a glass of prosecco for £21. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was lovely. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a quiet meal and it's also hot some lovely night tables that could accommodate for large groups of friends for a celebration. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.
We had a Christmas lunch with work at OXBO. The service was great no questions on that; staff always happy to help, very friendly and available every moment. Our food was delicious fresh and well made. However, there’s no big selection for vegetarians and vegans. We had a small paper menu instead of the actual one that included 3 courses with a glass of bubbly. But still there was one plate from fist and mains for vegans. No vegetarian alternative. Other than that everything was great.
