Amazing space to chill , listen good music and drink something. Vintage decor. Good vibe. Worth the value. Glass of pims is 4.50£
Better in sunny days.
Vibrant French bistro with a lovely tapas menu
We loved the Camembert , the mussels in curry sauce !!!
Good beer and wine selection, also the service was just quick friendly and attentive
London bridges finest places
Totally love this place! I stumbled across this restaurant by chance whilst exploring London bridge one evening with friends. We had just missed the opportunity to grab some seats in the outdoor cinema at The Scoop (part of More London Festival). Therefore we decided on going for a nice drink and something to eat as a few of us were peckish. Whilst walking in the rough direction back towards where we live we discovered this gem of a restaurant! The reason why we noticed it was it funky, cultural loud music. It seemed to be upbeat with a young vibe and so we decided to check it out! Otherwise it is actually quite hidden away and probably missed quite easily!
The courtyard area was pretty original with antique looking bikes, sofas and stools for people to sit on. It felt stylishly mishmashed come shabby chic, reflecting its french origin! We were approached by staff members, slightly hippified giving a chilled feeling to the place, no stress! They were very friendly and engaged with customers a lot! The menu was very french, even offering snails, however had a selection of attractive sharing boards i.e cheeses and meats and meals such as burgers and salmon. There was also a selection of interesting sides that sometimes aren't offered in restaurants such as a small side of ratatouille, green beans, chorizo and so on. I eventually ordered some fries and chorizo, even though I was relatively full, but I couldn't resist trying the food, it looked gorgeous! I also ordered a small glass of wine. The food I would say is okay value for money but the drinks are quite dear.
We were giving complimentary bread when the food arrived. I thoroughly enjoyed my side dishes and was left craving for more, especially the chorizo that I fancied for a few days after! My friend encountered a small problem with her salmon dish as it unfortunately had a hair in it. The staff dealt with it very nicely and offered to re-cook the meal although she ended up having some fries instead. Both were taken off of the bill at the end of the meal no issues.
The decor inside is equally original and enticing. All of the candles burning on the tables were left to drink down onto the table tops creating small mountains of red, blue and white wax. Quite beautiful as they were basically the only source of light, very romantic. There was also a wall on the way to the toilets covered in candle wax. I loved this theme, it was creative, simple and enhanced the restaurants originality and personality, very rustic.
I returned here again with my boyfriend on a Friday evening as I loved the experience so much last time I visited. It was equally as good but surprisingly a lot quieter than the Thursday night we went. Still we enjoyed a nice, relaxed drink after a pleasant evening together.
I will definitely return here having already spread the news about it to friends and family!
Lovely outside sitting area, inside it's a little dark though. Really delicious food, best truffle fries I've ever had and really tasty, juicy prawns. The small plates really are quite small but still, they're reasonably priced considering the area. Lovely cocktails too at good prices. Cool quirky bathroom.
Beautiful ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating. Service is friendly and pretty timely. All of the food was well prepared, but the standouts were the Rosemary Camembert, the Lamb Chop, and the French Fries with Truffle Oil. A lot of vegetarian options as well. Would recommend for a relaxing lunch.
Unique Restaurant in Borough Market!😍
We were seated outdoor because the weather is perfect.
The food is delicious but in a small portion. The one taking order could have at least informed us that the food is not for sharing!😁
Ambiance is perfect!🙂
Interesting is when you go to toilet..Looks like you’re going inside a party!😁
Loved the atmosphere of this place. It's tucked away near the train station and the shard so you don't feel the bustle of the city. I ordered the mussels and the sauce was great but the mussels kept breaking which lowered the quality of the meal. I also had the aubergine with goat cheese, and that was perfectly cooked and flavored. They have a drink called pimms which was an orange alcohol drink and it was delicious!
Great escape from the huge borough market crowds! Nice patio with lots of seating. The French cheesy burger was amazing!
First time back since before COVID and idk why I’ve waited so long. I love this place. Cozy, quirky bistro with a funky 1970s France vibe. They have a great, albeit small, selection of Belgian🇧🇪 beers. Highly recommend the house charcuterie board. Be sure to check out the loos. IYKYK.
Everything was amazing. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere, the drinks, the music all came together to create a gorgeous evening. The help from Denis who served me was incredible, really helpful with my food allergy, being very considerate and mindful. He was always ready to do extra things to make my night better
Great quiet spot by the Borough Market.
Burgers are great
Aperol Spritz was £10 though, bit pricey 😅
We did have a lovely quiet lunch however.
It is the kind of restaurant that provide different small portion dishes that goes well with a beer.
I think the snails is a must try, it comes with garlic bread sticks which are the best.
We also ordered the pull pork pie, it is only okay as the portion is really too small. We also ordered the onglet steak, it tasted good but £17 for few small pieces of steak seems way too expensive. Nevertheless, the food all tasted great.
The environment is a bit cramped but has a cozy feeling inside. The tables are also very small. The outside tables are bigger but you will need to borrow a blanket during winter.
Its true that the expected spending at this restaurant is £10-20 due to the limited menu choices. However you gotta go to borough market and get more food afterwards.
The people that work here are really lovely. They were friendly and gave us time and patience. The menus are a lovely touch. I enjoyed my food. I didn't like the toilets. Unsure why it's so dark. Men if you get as far as the duck, you've gone to far. Turn around and you'll see the door for men.
