Pretty good sushi and prices!! This sushi house made me feel warm and fuzzy. like a old japanese restaurant in osaka :) staffs are friendly also. i highly recommend !!
Japan is high up on my travel wish list, I want to see the cherry blossoms, the geishas and the crazy fashions but no self respecting food blogger would have Japan on their wish list without thinking of all those fabulous food-related reasons for going!. I have this dream that Japan is all wall-to-wall of fresh fish, hot and crunchy tempura and gooey gyoza, which is my dream version of unicorns and puppies. And unlikely as it seems, a little slice of the Japan I envisioned lurks down a slightly dingy set of stairs on a small little alley in Victoria.
Quaint little traditional sushi bar. Good food and friendly service. Overall not fantastic but better than most London sushi. Definitely give them a try.
I was just impressed !!. No need to have doubt about my recommendation !!
Th best taste of sushi I've ever met.
I was very wondering what is the key point of the flavour and taste. I think the there's something very important skill? expertise in the sushi.
This is my first time to write review but
I really realy wanted to pick this restaurant
nothing but only because of it's wonderful taste.
I bet. ! awesome !
Tucked away in a basement on Strutton Ground, this tiny little establishment appears to be pretty authentic. Despite it being a random weekday evening, it fills up very quickly and by the time we’re heading up to leave, it’s pretty much full.
We arrive a variety of elements to share and everything arrives promptly. The soft shell crab tempura is lightly battered, hot and fresh, but it does lack a certain wow factor. However, the selections of the different types of Sashimi we’ve gone for are all fresh and light and very clearly of the highest quality so we find ourselves ordering a few more of these to keep us going.
The chicken gyoza is better than most other dumpligns I’ve tried, served warm with a very comforting and nourishing filling, they bulk out what is otherwise quite a light meal. Service is a little slow, with the size of the place, there’s only one girl busily running around trying to get to everyone, but the food is absolutely top notch. Worth going with a few more people and ordering up a larger selection!
You need time when you come here, don’t treat it like a takeaway place, the best experience is to enjoy it at pace. There are only like 7 tables and 4 seats at the bar. At lunch it’s busy as it’s on Strutton Ground and the market is outside on the pedestrianized street. Fish quality is great! They speak Japanese behind the bar, and they are so friendly. Because it’s underground, don’t expect good mobile service, instead just unplug and enjoy! No wheelchairs or buggys. The stairs are steep and straight down.
I would had given 5 stars if it was not the wrong Sushi soy source. They used cooking soy source which is a lot salty and will cover the Fresh ingredients taste.
Apart from this, the staff are friendly and helpful.
This place is owned by Japanese people so it will be what you would get in Japan almost.
The food is well made with fresh ingredient. Taste is good but the rice could have a bit more flavour.
The price is worth it.
Over all I will visit again.
I first went to have sushi at Ichiriki in 2019. It’s now 2023 and I have become their loyal customer since 2019. Their Sashimi is super fresh and sushi is top notch. The service is always excellent. :)
Fantastic little sushi place - so tasty and really well priced! Everything was super fresh, authentic and the taste was top notch. Generous portions, lovely staff, menu easy to follow and order from. The restaurant itself is tiny so reservations are recommended. I tried the twmpura prawn sushi roll and we ordered another portion, it was that good. Nigiri selection was a fun way of trying a variety of fish, and (surprisingly) the pumpkin croquettes were the best I've had in my life (wouldn't have expected that from a humble pumpkin!). Overall a fantastic experience.
A tiny let down was the dessert, Japanese cake with red bean paste. It was just a pre-packaged pancake from a powder with bean paste served cold. Definitely did not enjoy that, but the place is known for its sushi not its desserts! The sushi is 10/10, just go elsewhere for dessert.
A friend recommend us this family restaurant and it was a hit. Little gem, a bit hard to find if you don’t know it’s there. Sushi is amazing, the best we have tried, all food is delicious, prepare with care. We definitely keep this as our frequent Japanese restaurant, we loved it. Super friendly family, very cosy. Great value for the quality of the food
Delicious. Absolutely delicious in every way. The plum wine is divine, the food is amazing and its great service. You go down some stairs next to a hair salon and there's a quaint restaurant down there waiting for you. It can maybe sit 25-30 people maximum. The menu is great, lots to chose from. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys good quality sushi. Don't be put off by the price...me and my friend have healthy appetites so our spend per person is a lot higher than normal people!!
Delicious sushi restaurant, my favourite in all of Victoria. This is a hidden gem, down a little staircase. Very intimate, incredible quality sushi (served with slightly warm rice, and everything is hand made fresh, not pre- prepared at all). The service is so respectful and friendly too. Really fair prices. My colleagues and I will all be coming back regularly.
Everything was great except the hardness of the rice which was the only bit that didn't quite reach my expectations. For sushi rice it should never be dry so this was a disappointment I must say. Otherwise the fish was all so fresh and delicious and would be more than happy to come back again soon!
My fiancé and I tried many Japanese restaurants in London and Ichiriki is one of our favourites. This restaurant is located at the centre of London and offers high quality food at really reasonable prices. We had two sets of nigiri, one udon + nigiri + salmon temaki set and one pumpkin koroke for only £55. The food was fresh and served with a octopus+cucumber+seaweed salad and miso soup. The owner was really kind and provided very good service. We will definitely visit this restaurant again :)
Really enjoyed my dinner here, good quality sushi and friendly prompt service from the waitress.
