A real hidden gem of a restaurant tucked away by Sloane Square. Calming, subtle decor with a hint of its Indian heritage. Attentive and hard working staff. Faultless service. The food was incredible. We had samosas, fish, lamb , zeera aaloo.
I’ll surely be back here very soon.
My recent dining experience at Kahani was an absolute delight. The menu showcased a remarkable array of traditional Indian dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors and fragrant spices. From the tender tandoori dishes to the rich and aromatic curries, every bite was a celebration of India's diverse culinary heritage. The presentation of the dishes was a visual treat, demonstrating the chef's skill and creativity. To top it off, the dessert selection was a sweet symphony of tastes that left me satisfied and longing for more. Without a doubt, Kahani has truly mastered the art of delivering an exceptional fine dining experience with Indian flavors that are nothing short of extraordinary.
I was awarded a virgin experience voucher as part of my 20 years long service as a bus driver & my wife & I planned a weekend away in London so we could use this.
We were both made to feel so welcome by all the staff at Kahani who were very professional & curtesy towards us during our whole meal, we had opted for the bottomless brunch which consisted of 6 courses ( see attached photos of some of the dishes) each more than plenty for the 2 of us to share, with the option of more of each course if we could manage it. We found each course, presented beautifully & with a full explanation from our server, to be tasting so full in depth of flavour & we were very satisfied with our experience & full & content at the end of our meal.
Great choice of wines, that our glasses were constantly filled for us with the attention to detail from the wonderful staff.
Without finding this place via the Virgin experience gifts we probably would never had visited but so thankful we did.
We both felt we were giving a 5 star experience & would definitely recommend to anyone.
We went for the bottomless brunch on Sunday and my goodness, were we impressed! From the moment we sat down and throughout the entire meal the staff were attentive and served us with a real passion for their craft.
Although it’s bottomless, I’d be impressed if anyone actually had room to order any additional dishes after the set menu is served to you. It’s scrumptious, full of flavour, and we will absolutely be back again to try their a la carte menu. A particular highlight was the tandoori grilled broccoli with honey and nigella seeds. Definitely worth having!
My boyfriend and I went to Kahani for the bottomless brunch today as a belated birthday meal (using a virgin experience days voucher). We had a brilliant experience. We went for the unlimited food but they also have bottomless (unlimited) food and Prosecco! It’s very rare to find a bottomless food option where the food is of top quality and Kahani’s truly delivered! The food was the best Indian food we have had! Also want to give a shout out to Azim who was so friendly - he gave great recommendations for drinks and was very attentive and gave such good customer service, thank you!
We went here to celebrate my husbands birthday with the set menu option. Portion sizes were bigger than we expected which was a nice surprise. The service was exceptional by all staff. We got to know Sharuq through casual conversation which was lovely. The team met specific dietary requirements perfectly, rather than excluding certain ingredients in their set dishes they brought out a complete new dish for each item which had an ingredient we couldn't eat. They even surprised my husband with a little dessert. We wouldn't go back due to the prices (charged £20 for service charge) but would definitely recommend people to visit this high end restaurant for authentic Indian food.
What an amazing experience. Do try the 6 course tasting menu and wine pairing. Fantastic service.
Had a fantastic time at Kahani. Customer service was absolutely faultless and the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We all had the tasting menu and the food was delicious. There wasn't a single course we didn't like and the wine pairing worked perfectly. Wonderful flavours and a wonderful evening.
I would highly recommended for a relaxed and pleasant evening with friends or family.
I went to Kahani with my family yesterday and had an amazing experience. The tasting menu was superb, everything tasted so good. The service was also great and very kind. I strongly recommend this restaurant. However, I would like to flag that the live music was a bit loud. It wasn’t a main issue as everything else was amazing, but it would’ve been even better.
Nice experience in a pretty setting, even though the space on the tables is quite limited. Staff is professional. The “green” fish was absolutely stunning, maybe the best Indian fish dish I had in my life. Highly recommend to get it🥇but to be fully honest, a few things weren’t meeting the expectations: The samosas were not as special and tasty as they could be and 3 sauces came in only 1 little bowl and mixed when using the small spoon to serve. Naan wasn’t perfect. We recommend to improve the temperature of the served dishes. Easy things will make dinner perfect.
The service here was amazing. They were kind enough to hold on to my jacket for me and our table was consistently checked on, water being refilled and asking if the food was okay.
Portion size was very good for the money we paid the quality was good too. Decided to pay them more on top of the service charge since the service was extraordinary.
Only downside is it does get quite noisy depending on the time you come here.
Fabulous restaurant with very delicious food. The cocktails and mocktails were amazing. Tandoori ananas became one of my favorite 😍 Service was excellent. I recommend my network to come and eat out here.
My daughter brought me here as a special treat, we had the 6 course taster menu, it was absolutely amazing. Scallops cooked to perfection, the most amazing prawn I have ever eaten (my daughter was almost in tears it was so good). And when you thought it couldn't get any better, the lamb was absolutely amazing! So tender and well flavoured (definitely specially farmed lamb from heaven!). Then dessert!!!!!! You really need to go!
Masters of flavour, texture, colour and smell combination.
Thank you also to our amazing waiters who were attentive and professional.
We went to Kahani without much expectations, other than knowing it has a good reputation. Given the piece tag, it's always a risk as to whether it will be worth it. But from the second we arrived outside, and were greeted at the door, we were pleased. Having a pram with us, we were directed next door to the hotel's lift. ALL the staff were not only attentive but responsive and efficient. The process for bottomless brunch and each course was clearly explained. The portions were very generous and the quality of the food of a high standard. Value for money, can't recommend Kahani enough. Was just such a good experience.
We enjoyed a bottomless brunch at Kahani and it was delicious 😊 There were a variety of dishes served which were full of flavour. We. Especially loved the tandoori wings which we happened to order a second helping of! The service was very attentive and we will look forward to returning soon
All round great experience. Went for their bottomless brunch which had bottomless food and prosecco. Really good quality and attentive polite staff. Lovely venue too.
We discovered this place after searching for a good but different Indian restaurant that we hadn't explored previously. The ambience was good. We were welcomed well and the service was friendly, attentive and thoughtful. The starter was different and nice, so was the dessert but we personally did not find the mains all that interesting. It might just be us, but the meaty dishes felt too rich and rice wanting a lot more love. All in all a decent experience. Credit cards accepted including American express.
We ordered the Bottomless Brunch and trust me you're gonna be full with the most delicious Indian food we ever tried in London yet... The desserts were impeccable and looked straight out of a Master Chef's kitchen.
Will be looking forward to go there again.
I enjoyed my very first visit to Kahani. The restaurant is great - amazing ambience and cozy fireplace in the far end, inspiring paintworks on the walls, delicious and creatively presented cocktails with some edible dried flower petals for decoration, beautiful tableware, and of course sensational food. We tried both meat and fish dishes, both were carefully prepared and presented. The chocolate desert was melting in the mouth and not too sweet - superb! We will be back!
The only recommendation to perfect the service - please give all 4 menus from the get go to all parties, we had to ask 3 times for them (only one of us were given all the menus, while other one had to wait and remind the waiter several times to bring those).
Very nice tasting menu, with good variety and quality of food. It was relatively busy on a Saturday afternoon, but didn't feel noisy. Brilliant serving staff who talked us through every course. Initially we thought there wouldn't be enough food as the portions were quite small, but there definitely was by the time the main course arrived. It's very expensive for what it is, therefore deducting 1 star, but then again in London, it's comparable pieces for this location. Fabulous cocktails. Would definitely return
