Nice option for a quicker dinner after a long day of London's tourism.
Tasty hummus in the right amount, delicious and oil-free falafel and nice harras potatoes.
The place is quite noisy, but the service can be efficient (and if it is not, just ask another waiter, because there are plenty!).
To come back as I am always craving lebanese.
I waited on the queue for eat that meat and that was worth it. Humus is very delicious and I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. Edgware Road is the place to eat Middle East foods.

Had a gppd time there. The ambience and staff is good. The place offers alot in maroush cuisine as the name suggests. The shorba cannot be missed from there.
Been going to this place for many years, I think is the only restaurant in London that serves real Lebanese food (I speak for ALL Maroush branches) .
Drink selection is also good , they do a set menu during Ramadan for Iftar (but place gets really packed) and staff is very nice .
If you're a fan of shawarma the best place to find it is on Edgware Road. Good sized portion which is quite filling. Ordered a side of fries.
Hands down best Shawarma I've had so far in the UK! We also got a chicken liver sandwich which also tasted really good, felt like I was eating at a local restaurant in Lebanon! Good vibes and food, highly recommended!
The 4.5 rating is just for the Shawarma!
I first went there with a friend hungry and lost, trying to find a decent place to just drop down and get to eat something fast. We didn't have to wait long for a table although the place was all full.
I got the shawarma and it was out of the world. Absolutely delicious. Since then, I have been a regular.
We waited almost 30 minutes to get in. I liked the houmous but it could be better. Actually shawarna could be better too. Nothing special, but not bad.
What an absolutely amazing place to eat late night. Sujouk, THE Hummus, kebabs along with the garlic mayo, shawarma are the item you just cannot go wrong with! Quick service and food is always just perfectly cooked!
Must go after late night drinking!!!! Even otherwise :p
We had just finished shopping on Oxford Street. We picked the restaurant for its decor and and courteous waiting staff. The lentil soup was refreshing. We had the mixed platters, mixed shawarma, lamb and stuffed aubergines. All for £55. My family's first time in a Lebanese restaurant in London. The lamb and rice was delicious and came recommended for someone with nut allergy. There was bread to go with the delicious dips. Finished off with Lebanese sweets from the staff. Definitely a great way to finish a busy afternoon and evening of shopping on Oxford Street in warm restaurant with great service.
Another great one from the house of maroush! Its a great place for quick bite or a takeaway. Picked up a shawarma, humus, falafel & pita on my way back to the hotel. Tasted just perfect!
Dinner hosted by London Bangladeshi friends! Excellent food! We had Hummus, baked Fish, kabab platter, leg Shanks of lamb, roasted cheese, Sweverma, and sweet dishes! Each item was a marvel! Fantastic!
First visit to this chain of hotels. We ordered babaganoush which in nothing but baingan bharta with yougurt, humus and schwarma of chicken and lamb. Some sort of thin rotis were served with this. The humus and babaganoush come with lots of olive oil.
Quite tasty dishes. We also ordered potato Bhaji and grilled cheese. Overall a very good experience, worth going again.
Fantastic food... The muhammara, pita bread, hummus, their spicy Lebanese salad was absolutely heavenly! The Chicken kebabs were world class... Maroush rocks!
There's always a long line in the evening but the staff are very courteous and they help you go through the waiting, and serve you fast. Order while in line, that's more sensible coz when you get to your table, your food will come in five mins!
If in London, this place is not to be missed!

Me and a couple for friends came to have lunch at Maroush a few days ago, we were quite pleased with the food and the service.
We ordered the set menu for 4 persons, I was impressed by the amount and the diversity of the food, which was really delicious, a bottle of red wine, and a few pieces of baklawa.
We especially liked Dana, she's a really beautiful and cheerful lady, very funny but also respectful, we actually liked her very much. We might even come back to have lunch again.
Overall we were very pleased with the service and I would recommend it to all of my friends.
Thank you
Maroush Express.. What drew me to it was the fact that it was so busy (strange?) but I actually live by a theory my mother coined:
"When considering untried restaurants one can rate how good it is by the amount of people eating there"
This theory can save one from heartache, bellyache and any other ache as the masses will only crowd a place worth crowding!
So as it was extremely busy, we had to wait to be seated. Approximately 10mins.. We were offered the bar-styled seating area by the door but it was awkward seating. Table ready, we were escorted to it and ordered almost immediately as we had a chance to look at menus (plus we were hungry!)
I ordered grilled Sea Bass served with rice (Mmm, yum), salad, tahini and garlic sauce with a mango juice and it was delicious. The garlic sauce was yummy and it reminded me of a mysterious white sauce I have in New York at a well known food cart on 6th Ave and W 53rd St. (Oh, my mouth is watering). Back to Maroush..
The Sea Bass was opened up and grilled. Nicely well done and easy to eat with the rice and salad. I loved the rice, simple yet delicious. The salad contained radishes, but not the normal ones! It's was more pink and not as spicy and tart. But I liked it, the flavours went well together.
The mango juice was thick and flavourful.
My companions bought ordered the mixed grills which came with unlimited bread. They both enjoyed their food making comments such as, 'mmm, this is really nice'. Until they both found pieces of beef still pink inside.. So it had to be re-cooked. The staff handled it well and sorted it out straight away.
When we had finished eating, baklava was brought to our table. It is a honey, almond pastry thing. Quite sweet.
We were served by a lovely lady called Anca and as well as lovely she was funny!
i was staying at portman square during my holidays last year....i was out with a friend of mine late at night and we were too hungry...he took us to this eatery on the edgware road and it was an an amazing experience..
the hummus was mind blowing with olive oil and a hint of lemon...the charcoal mixed grill was also nice however the lamb pieces were a bit hard...the chicken shwarma was mouth watering with hot pita and an amazing garlic sauce...what an amazing feast it was...
service was prompt and efficient..
A bliss for a vegetarian like me :)
The place where i had my first Lebenese dinner!
I am a fan of lebanese cuisine now as after exploring can say- they serve loads of vegetarian dishes (Dishes here does not means only salads or boiled vegetables but a proper cooked meal) alike other cuisines!
Well, nice ambience, a bit noisy but very lively.
Had to wait for the table(approx 10 minutes) but the manager came forward for a bit chit-chat to kill the waiting time.
Staff was friendly too and when asked about a dish they explained it very well.
the food was amazing, fresh and must day quite big portions.
It costs around £60(for two) but worth it!
Highly Recommended!
Maroush Express is a delight! The best lebanese food that I've ever tasted. Be it their shawarmas, hommos or kibbeh. Everything is drool-worthy. The restaurant has a sizeable dining area but as most reviewers have pointed out, it can get occupied really fast. The service is good given the amount of crowd it attracts.
All in all a must visit place in london!
Maroush Express is one of our favourite restaurants for Lebanese food. We have been here on numerous occasions. Although usually quite busy the food is worth waiting for. What we like about Maroush is the quality of the food, which is always fresh. We have dined in many restaurant's on Edgware road and have been disappointed with the quality, with majority reheating food, but this has never been the case with Maroush Express. The atmosphere is good, portions good and we always leave having enjoyed our meal. The Fattoush is by far one of the best we have tasted. The only thing missing is shisha after! Highly Recommend to anyone wanting a quality meal at a reasonable price on Edgware road.
With the number of restaurants under the Maroush umbrella, it's no wonder they're so popular with Londoners looking for classic Lebanese fare. Added to the sheer number, they've got a different restaurant catering to every need of your wallet and time. Imagine that.
Maroush Express is a quick fix stop for your regular dose of shawarma. They do it well. So well in fact that I'd rate them as one of the best I've had since coming to London. And thank goodness for the khubz wrap. Meaty and filled with a whole lot of juicy goodness and a generous slathering of thaum (the white garlic tahini paste they use in shawarmas). The 'mixed shawarma' is your go to if you desire the best of both the meat worlds.
If you're in for an entire meal, you might have to wait a bit because even though the restaurant seats a good number of people, it can get packed pretty darn quickly.
One of my favourite places to eat Lebanese food in London . Despite so many outlets in edge ware road, there is a queue every time you visit.
Chicken shawarma is my favourite along with chicken hummus fatuosh and spinach fatayer... Fresh juices are also worth a try...meat is very fresh because of good footfall and served quickly as well.
Very reasonably priced and appealing to your taste buds...and to top it up they give complementary Arabic sweets with the bill..
Always busy and crowded, Maroush Express is an Edware Road staple serving up classic lebanese street fare, namely the shwarma wrap along with other staple arabic dishes.
The interior is pretty basic and not tat pretty, but the service is rapid and there are stools inside to rest up on as you much through your lamb (way better than chicken) wrap and watch the world go by.
There are a number of alternative options to go including kebabs with rice, which are much more filling but not really suited to a place with such a quick turn around. However, a few mixed mezze starters go down a treat before the wrap if you have a little bit of time to hang around. My favourites are the fetoush and kibbeh.
I have been to this restaurant multiple times and hands down it is one of the best Lebanese restaurants on Edgware Road.
Food is always fresh and amazing especially their chicken Shawarma.
The only reason I’m giving them a 4 star is because of the Kunafa, have tried much better ones and they need to improve this as it was not worth the price.
Really nice food and freshly made, it is pricey but you have to bear in mind the location and ambience.. Overall are waiter was very friendly and aimed to pleased, definitely would return especially for the chill sauce which I brought extra to take home!
Enjoyed dinner at Maroush. Fast service, nice atmosphere overall especially sitting outside. The Lebanese salad, shish taouk and fries were quite tasty. Worth trying.
The food at Maroush Express was incredible, good flavours with quick and friendly service. Feras was kind and super helpful! Would love to return.
great food served fast without cutting short on flavours or quality can go wrong usually eait half an hour in some of the other restaruants locally as for this literally in and even forgot i went their lol
Attentive table service. Generous portions and fresh tasting food. Fast service.
Love this restaurant, especially their meat Shawerma. I invited a friend to try and was very happy with the food. Ordered the vegetarian vine leaves, Mtabal, Shawerma, chips, and minced meat in the bread. I would have rated it 5 stars if the meat in the bread wasn't over cooked and the bread wasn't so dry. All in all was good and would recommend it to anyone.
Lamb kabob was so tender and full of flavor. Falafel was good. Chicken shawarma was yumm. The service was great.
Best Lebanese food in the world - shish taouk, halloumi and mango juice are to die for. But....the service is painfully slow (not the food service but the general waiter service). They desperately need 3 extra staff at any point in the day because it's just not on.
But I keep coming back for the food and it's halal of course!
Amazing experience at Maroush served by Feras who was charismatic, friendly and accommodating. Loved the vegetarian alternative Kibbeh which I have never had. Delicious Lebanese food hard to come by in London!
We have tried dozens of Lebanese places across London and this place does the best Shish Taouk and Shawarma wraps. We have been going here for years and regularly.
My only criticism is the Service is quick when taking order but often a little slow in getting the order to you, not because of the chefs but because their system needs a little improving - wait staff seems to get confused which order is for who and sometimes it lies there for ages before they finally figure out to get it to you.
Still have to give it 5 stars because the food is so good!
EDIT: since my review a few months back I haven’t had the same issue’s waiting for my order and have been many times in that period. So they have listened and improved their systems. Though perhaps the wraps have Been a little inconsistent at times in terms of the amount of garlic sauce and taste etc
Nice place. Good food but very pricey for the portion size if you’re buying a plate. The wraps are very tasty and reasonably priced. Clean restaurant and usually a good service. Nice atmosphere. Air con and clean(ish) toilets.
Came here today with the hubby - ordered the Mixed Grill plate £16 (unfortunately doesn’t come with rice or any sides. Our rice was sold as separate £4) And a Mixed Shwarma Wrap (£6) with a portion of fries. Wrap was good for the price but the plate was a definite waste of money! DO NOT ORDER PLATES!!!
Now - there is only one portion size for the chips, but when the next table got their bowl it was overflowing whereas ours was just a few chips - so I asked the lady at the service and she said it was because a fresh batch had been made... she could tell I was upset so she gave me an extra bowl for free.
At the end we got complimentary baklava - a lebanese sweet dish served at the end of service as standard.
Overall decent experience though very pricey - next time would only order wraps.
Good Shawarma. Chicken liver is more saucy and different from Turkish. This is one of the oldest restaurants on Edgware Road. Must try.
