Classic, nothing fancy and complicated but incredibly well prepared and served food!
Great staff, passionate about food, not too formal - which we loved.
We ordered tuna carpaccio with hazelnut dressing, burrata with tomatoes, turbot, bottle of wine, Creme Brûlée, and chocolate mousse.
I list it without comments as I cannot recommend anything in particular. All was just amazing. Pick anything you want.
We really enjoyed our first visit and surely will come back very soon.
The small house. Kind of a weird name for a restaurant. As imaginative as Burger and Lobster serving, burger and lobster. Or Five Guys serving, Five Guys’ burgers. Or KFC serving mutant chicken. Although I guess it could be worse. It could be called something less charming. So with a question mark in my mind as to what small house cooking would be like, we began our dinner.
For so long, I have stressed the importance of the role of flavours in a dish. Sometimes there is no need for pretention, for fuss or for eccentric cooking methods - just the need for high quality ingredients, classic flavour combinations and a skilled hand. It would seem like La Petite Maison abides by this philosophy as they consistently deliver classic French dishes to a very high standard.
