One of the best places I have ever been to. I tried their Masala Tea, Ostrich Bhuna, Parsee style chicken curry, Goan Prawn curry, steamed rice, SpiceNamaste platter (non veg), lassi etc. Not all in one go. :D I went there multiple times. Food and their service is super awesome. Thank you.

I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Indian food at Spice Namaste. Spice Namaste is located a stone's throw away from the Tower Hill tube station and is run by celebrity chef Cyrus Todiwala who I think I have seen on Saturday kitchen a couple of times. You know that show on Saturday mornings with James Martin. I thought this would be a worthy entry for my London round the world foodie tour.

Interesting Indian. Fantastic restaurant. Food was interesting and the quality of ingredients was excellent. Service was very professional and attentive. Only niggle would be the detail on the menu - each item had a story attached to it which can throw you when you are reading it!

Fantastic!. I am not a fan of indian food but my friend really wanted indian. So you pick cafe spice Namaste. The food was really good and the service was very friendly. This restaurant definitely made me give indian an other look and that's saying a lot.

Possibly the best Indian restaurant in London. Cyrus Todiwala cooks some familiar but mostly unfamiliar dishes to perfection. Try the lamb dosa starter and chilli beef for a main and you'll never want to eat anything else again (but in a good way!)

The main courses we chose were equally unusual: ostrich bhuna and dhaansaak. Both were as good as their menu descriptions (note: allow plenty of time to read the menu, it’s more like a book with lots of background and sometimes historical detail about each dish. It’s really informative and a joy

So with a healthy dose of trepidation, I went to Cafe Spice with a former colleague and indulged in a procession of the most fantastically spiced dishes I can remember. Sure a couple of the dishes had kick but the combination of aromatic spices was a sens

Good food but quite pricey. The service was good but I wanted slightly bigger portions. There are cheaper alternatives not too far away. But always good to try something new.

Cyrus Todiwala’s restaurant is still going strong aftermore than fifteen years in business, earning him an MBE in the process. Not far from Tower Hill, this caters mainly to City workers, and has two large dining areas. The décor in the larger room is rather garish, having banquettes with purple and also orange upholstery, green upholstery for the chairs and murals on the walls. The wooden floor and music generates quite high noise levels.

Café Space Namaste writes an interesting menu: pork vindaloo, beef tikka and duck sausage are not the standard high street Indian fare. Bhel poori was very pleasant, though for me it was a touch dry: a little more tamarind chutney would have improved things (13/20). Prawns were cooked well enough, though they came with an oddly bland, one-dimensional brown sauce (12/20).

Pork vindaloo was the best dish of the meal, pieces of English pork in a nicely sour, spicy vinegared sauce (13/20). Dhal makhani was decent, though again the spicing seemed to just have a generic heat rather than revealing individual spices (11/20). Tandoori salmon suffered from having one of the pieces of salmon raw in the centre, though the others were fine (11/20). Naan bread was so-so, rather doughy in texture (11/20). This was similar to my previous experiences at this restaurant: the menu reads enticingly, but the delivery is less appealing and rather inconsistent.

Wasn't quite sure of what to make of the look of this place, it's kind of nuts, a grand airy space, with the most random color blocked designs, yellow walls and buntings, and odd designer glass vases. Quite distracting, which is a pity, as the food is excellent. We ordered the kebab platter - chicken, lamb, excellent, beetroot samosa a winner, fish a bit of a let down. The lamb frankie turned out to be in a dosa, which was quite strange, but the filling was excellent. Prawn patia as a main was yum, though quite different from what I had expected. The murgh pasanda was rich, and pistachioed to the hilt, superbly tender, and rich. Okra and potatoes were passable. Pistachio kulfi to finish, wasn't as creamy as the rest of the table liked, but I thought that was a plus. Service was a bit erratic, with a very over enthusiastic waitress decrumbing and ordering us around. Not a real complaint though, overall, was a very pleasant experience. Wish they'd work on the interior, it is such a lovely space, and could be a real winner!

Had a lovely evening at the restaurant with my family. It was a special occasion so we all had the tasting menu which was very good - a variety of refined and interesting dishes spread over about three hours. You won't leave hungry if you have that option for sure 😃

Relocated from central london. With over 25 years of experience, they bring you authentic flavors all the way from the heart of Goa and Bombay. Each dish is carefully thought after and created with even more passion. The new location has great views by the water. Tried their beet samosas which were unique and have this burst of amazing flavors. Their chili cheese garlic naan and curries are to die for. If you have more room, don’t miss out on dessert! Worth it and will definitely come back.

Location: You can either Drive or Use local Transport to reach the Restaurant. There is a DLR station nearby. Highly recommended to visit in the evening as the location is amazing for the Photography lover (historic Docklands). You can even sit outside and have your dinner or have Drink outside and dinner inside. Owner: The Owner (Pervin Todiwala) personally visits each table and ask for service, and do offer to try highly recommended Food. We had a great catch up with Pervin, she is Parsi, and we were Gujarati so shared a common language. At no point we felt it was our first visit. Car Park: The Restaurant offers free parking for all the customers. Please ask them when you book online or visit on the day and ask them for the Permit. Staff: The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Each of the Staff members we interacted with were so well trained and know how to deliver an excellent customer service. Food: The food was really delicious, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. You can find varieties of Veg and Non-Veg options. Definitely try - BEETROOT & COCONUT SAMOSA CHAAT. My son don't like the Beetroot but loved to eat Beetroot Samosa without even noticing its Beetroot inside. Quality: Food quality was brilliant, and portion is really better. Price: For group of 3 Adults it cost us £80.

Cafe Spice Namaste has shifted from Prescott Street to Royal Albert Wharf. The location is excellent with an inside and outside dining area. It has lovely views of the wharf and City Airport. The Red Chilli and Lime Mojito as well as the Rajasthani Spiced Margarita cocktails are highly recommended. The menu has morphed but retains some of the old favourites. We tried the Venison Tikka Aflatoon. The meat was tender and succulent with a beautiful flavour. The Beetroot and Coconut Samosa Chat is an old favourite. We shared a Keralan Chicken Biryani. Soft and tender chicken pieces in wonderfully flavoured rice. For the first time, I saw a square Creme Caramel with a lemon balm garnish which transports you to a gourmet heaven. You cannot fault the food quality. It is excellent. The staff recommend that you order 2 dishes (appetisers which are similar to tapas) at a time and enjoy the views with the cocktails. The awards wall is a tribute to a long career, recognised by reputed global hospitality organisations as well as by the Queen. If you are in London, it is a "must visit" gourmet experience at reasonable pieces.

Birthday treat meant I finally get to Cyrius Todiwala's new restaurant location since they left Waterloo. I have dreamt of the beetroot and coconut samosas and Goan pork vindaloo so had to have these. The okra was also with coconut and the papaya and mango salad dressed with a spicy hot sweet coating. We went on a bright Wednesday lunchtime soon after openings. Service was brilliant and engaging with talks through the food offering. Will visit again soon to eat my way through the menu. A unique Asian food experience well worth travelling to.

We attended a Saturday masterclass with Cyrus Todiwala, learning how to cook Indian Streetfood alongside the best bit of tasting. We had such an amazing time and learnt so much. Food was beyond delicious and both Cyrus and Pervin made the perfect hosts providing a warm, homely relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy. Highly recommend the masterclasses, we will definitely be taking a wonderful memory back with us and return again for sure!

It's difficult to find the words, and I don't usually struggle with that... The best meal I've ever had! The atmosphere was great, the service was fantastic. I didn't see anyone with an empty glass for more than a minute, which is always a good thing. Pervin is such a character, great banter with everyone, loads of fun. Definitely go for the taster menu (8 courses), you won't regret it. Just look at my photos! I'm pescetarian by the way so they brought me a slightly different plate each time when it was a meat course. Incredible food, I doubt you'll have another experience quite like it!

Having been many times to Cafe Spice in Prescott st this was our first venture to their new and spectacular location at Lower Dock Walk which is just 5 minutes walk from Gallions Reach DLR. We were lucky in that the weather was beautiful but notwithstanding that the waterfront view was amazing and it felt more like Sydney than London. The menu is now full of incredibly imaginative small dishes which are offered as a sort of Indian tapas which is just a brilliant way to try this wonderful food. We had the tasting menu of 8 courses and they were all spectacularly good. The wine list is simple and reasonably priced and the cocktails excellent and quirky. Just like Prescott St the whole experience is a friendly and inviting one. If you fancy something really different, unpretentious yet classy then this is the one for you.
