This place is such a good hidden gem. I’ve been here when it’s quiet and when it’s been absolutely packed. All times I’ve had a great time. Set below flour & grape, it’s the perfect spot before joining the queue. You can pay and bring your drinks upstairs to dinner. Being a gin bar, it has a wide selection of gin that the server was more than happy to talk us through. Served with local Bermondsey tonic. Happy hour prices are only £6.
Buzzy, busy, popular, friendly, intoxicating. A favourite gin and cocktail bar who stock an interesting range of lesser spotted gin bottles. Start early, 5pm gains you an hour of happy hour prices, and combine £6 double G&Ts with the amazing desserts from the restaurant upstairs and you are on to a winner. Fabulous.
To be fair, I'd recommend this cocktail bar; transparent pricing through a decent happy hour and a decent Sunday social offer. Seating is nice and the overall environment is nice. My only comment would be that their cocktails are not hugely creative but during happy hour, arguely excellent anyway. For London, good value is hard to find and for that, 214 does provide that.
Intimate basement cocktail bar with a very extensive back bar selection. The staff are knowledgeable and always give excellent recommendations. Their Gin flight menu is fantastic and the cocktail list has many classics and twists as this old soak could enjoy. Upstairs restaurant is always bustling and the food is top notch. A definite check out spot, if you’re in the area.
We go every time we are in london, as it is always a great experience. This time, we got to know Amelie, no doubts the best bar manager this bar ever had. She was spectacular sharing the most exotic gin's for all over the world. Thanks Amelie!!!!
Attached to flour & grape above (very good Italian). Came here for cocktails and nibbles whilst we waited. They do £7 aperitivo hour 5-6pm FYI! My friend had the biscoff espresso martini but he rated it a 6/10, said it was watery. Mine was the spicy mescal/gin cocktail, realllly good! The salted almonds and selection of bread & oil was delicious. Gets busy but there’s lots of seats and everyone shares. Slightly confusing name (now realise it’s to do with the street number), they should do a 2-4-1 offer at some times to maximise on their bar name! You can also get wine or cocktails and take it to your table upstairs when seated.
My favourite bar for cocktails and definitely the best in Bermondsey Street. Staff are professional and always able to advise the drink. Happy hours from 5-6 is a good deal!
If you like Gin. This is the place. If you don’t like Gin this is still the place. Old School Smokey vibe but libations are very good. Come at happy hour stay for the night !!! Had the traditional Bramble and the Italian in New York. Both equally magnificent.
Nice little speak-easy bar. Music is played but only as a background and not the main event. Gin-Flights in here are good value and a nice discussion point to try and guess which gin fits the description. Bermondsey Tonic Water is amazing stuff, highly recommend giving it a go.
Cosy, tucked away gin bar with an excellent selection of cocktails made by friendly and knowledgeable bar staff.
I particularly recommend one of the "flights" of gin, these are a selection of three gins with a theme, served with a blind tasting game. Start off trying them without tonic, and then with their own brand of tonic, then try to guess which is which from the tasting notes, open the envelope at the end to find out!
Amazing little bar hidden underneath Flour and Grape. A mix of classic and new cocktails on offer, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who can recommend which ones to try depending on what you like. Very cosy set up so great for winter too
Great bar with a good variety if gins and cocktails. Very cosy and not over priced. Lovely place to chill and unwind for a while.
Nice selection in a dimly lit and cosy environment. Great date spot or an intimate stop for a sneaky gin.
I shared the Orient Express gin flight and tried a great unique selection of gins, would definitely recommend.
Very cozy atmosphere with friendly bartender ! Well recommended . Best gin bar I have ever been in London .
My goodness what a lovely bar - both bartenders on tonight(12/09) we're lovely especially the woman (sorry I didn't their names). Extremely reasonably priced especially given the area and the quality of drinks. Soon I'll be back and in greater number!
Great hidden gem below Flour and Grape - good cocktails and vibe.
Wonderful people work here: they keep good company and make good drinks. Cosy place: the usual crowds can get loud during peak times, but not rowdy and usually not sloppy. Great place to have a date with yourself or someone else, read a book, write a journal, and watch people. Thanks folks!
Protip: order off-menu once in while. Try a bourbon flip or hundred-year-old cigar 👌🏻
