The rich and tasty menu with good wines in this Soho locale was delicious where  I must highlight the cheesecake that was exceptionally light yet brimming with flavour (sadly no longer in the current menu). This is a great place to linger over slow eating. Recommended!

A friend of a friend (interesting) suggested that we go for an Italian dinner at Vasco and Piero's Pavilion in the heart of Soho. This is a small restaurant that was packed all evening. I like the simple decor and the atmosphere that gave the impression we were in somebody's house! After they sat us to our table, they graciously offered us some prosecco. This was a nice gesture from them and a good sign that this whole experience would be fantastic! We ordered some appetizers first. As soon as we saw that they had some burrata on the menu, we ordered it!!! It was served with cherry tomatoes. The burrata was amazing! The shell was soft and the heart creamy. I could have eaten this all day! It tasted so fresh! The second appetizer was a pear carpaccio. That was fantastic! The pear was juicy and sweet and it complemented very well the sharpness of the parmesan. It was a great dish: simple, tasty with clean flavors. Jodi ordered some tuna. It was seared and served with lentils and spinach.

Vasco and Piero’s Pavilion is a Soho institution, serving Umbrian food since 1971. This is not a place that you go to stretch out: the tables are tiny and packed together. At one point in the evening every table was taken, but they somehow squeezed in and laid a fresh table adjacent to the bar for some new diners. The two page wine list ranged in price from £17.50 to £135. Falesco Est Est Monte Fiascone 2011 was £28 for a wine that you can find in the high street for around £8, Villa Russiz Pinot Grigio Collio Gorizia 2010 was £46.50 for a wine that retails at £14, and Tignanello 2008 was £135 for a wine that can be purchased for £52.

Vasco & Piero's Pavilion has been there for 40 odd years, anonymously squatting on the unlovely Poland Street. Synonymous with London's media scene, it's one of those places that advertising execs used to take folk for a roister-doister, "it's alright, we

Vasco & Piero's is a bit of a Soho institution - not at all trendy and mainly overlooked by the 'foodie' scene but much loved by those who simply want a restaurant that serves good food they can rely on time and again. I have been twice so far.

The first time I was invited and we had four courses plus bread before we even had our main. I was so full I couldn't finish my beautiful tagliatelle with speck, pistachio and cream. We had some seeded bread, salmon pate on bread, porchetta with parmesan to share, tempura battered cod with a sweet chilli sauce to share, a tortellino with shaved truffles in a butter sauce... and then my tagliatelle. The star of the meal, and the dish I still dream about, was the tortellini - amazing silky pasta in a luxurious, velvety buttery sauce.

It might seem odd that an Italian place also serves asian food but the chef is a dab hand with both and neither suffers.

I went back for a big occasion - to celebrate mine and my friend's 20th 'anniversary'. She has also been here on several occasions and loves it. This time around, we split a creamy burrata and a tangy tuna sashimi to start (weirdly they went quite well together on the plate) and then I had a buttery, rich, lamb tortelloni with rosemary and my friend had the prawn spaghettini. Tempting as dessert sounded, with half a bottle of red with our meal, and, delightfully, a glass of prosecco on the house (did they know it was a special occasion?) we felt too full to eat any more. It was the same, elegant service, with the same, handmade, top notch pasta. I would gladly go again.

This has been my favorite Italian restaurant in London since I discovered it 6-7 years ago. We still explore new places, but while many are good, we always end up saying we should have gone to Vasco and Piero instead. That staff and service are always impeccable. It’s the perfect restaurant for before or after a show, a lovely lunch, or a special date. They are equally good at providing a faster paced meal if you need to get to a show, or facilitating a long relaxed dinner filled with wine and conversation. I have eaten there too many times to count and have never had an issue with anything I’ve ever ordered. Mostly we just sit there saying “omg this is so good”. I like food a lot, and while I rarely send things back, I am very critical. I enjoy digging into the good and bad parts of every dish with my partner and talking about the elements. I’m usually disappointed by at least one dish at every new restaurant I try, but Never at Vasco and piero. The simplest thing on their menu is usually stunning, sometimes sticking in our memory for years (I still think about the vegetable soup I had that couldn’t have been simpler and tasted like magic) It’s clear this place is a favorite with people in the soho theater/acting/film crowd as we have seen many recognizable faces. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Also, try the Tiramisu. My husband isn’t a coffee drinker and never liked tiramisu. He tried this one reluctantly on my recommendation and now it’s one of his favorite desserts in London (and he actively goes out with a desert club to try desserts all over the city). He orders it every time we eat there. I could talk about many different dishes I love eating there, but honestly everything is delicious. They have that magic that all good Italian food has, it seems simple, uses limited perfect ingredients, and you know you could try to make the same thing at home 1000 times and it would never taste like magic the way it does when prepared by their kitchen with their specially sourced ingredients.

We walked by this restaurant the night before and thought we might give it a try the next day. Very easy to make a reservation for the next night. We had a starter, main, dessert, and drinks, and almost everything we tried were dishes we’d never tried before so we were a bit nervous. Everything was amazing! The food and drinks are delicious and elevated. Some of the comments I read before we went mentioned that it was overpriced. We did not feel this way. We thought the prices were about right for the value.

My first visit to the new location but the food and service are exactly where they always have been. Among the best Italian food you can find in London and with a well chosen wine list. We chose lamb chops as a dish but left everything else to the team. I won't even list them as not one of us had anything negative to say about any of them. Can't be faulted in any way and when the weather is as sunny as it was, sitting outside is just wonderful.

We were there at the beginning of September this year. It was hot in London and all the windows were open and there was a special atmosphere for us. My wife forgot her fan, it took less than 10 seconds and the boss helped with a new one. The red wine was fantastic. I think it was a Primitivo. The Italian food is also 100% perfect and we have reserved a table for our visit in November. I forget something: We asked the lady from the service (or the boss wife) about some intersting adresses for a special item to shop in the city and she come back with a piece of paper and at least 5 adresses...welcome to the family !!

Excellent service and super nice staff. Overpriced decent food (OK portions) and really bad cocktails. That summs up our birthday celebrations. They were super sweet to allow me in early. The negroni was so so bad after paying 16.50 for one cocktail we did tell the waitress about this and she offered to change it, but it was too late and we just wanted to leave. Broccoli cheese pudding was lovely. Tagliatelle was niceish. Fennel salad was lovely Calf liver was ok. I was still left hungry after eating what you might think is quite a lot of food for 2 people l. Dessert was nice we got tiramisu and creme caramel both were just ok, they even got us a candle for the birthday and offered to sing. That was super nice. I wouldn't recommend this place, but it came very highly recommended to me.

For one time is ok and the food is delicious, but the price for the things they offer and for Soho is not good for a second try.

Absolutely awesome! We’ve eaten in places all over Italy, and in the UK, and this simply blew us away. Yes, some things get taken off the menu as the night goes on, but this just proves it’s fresh, and it’s lovely food. Service is great too, it’s a small place, but it’s very very personable. We missed a few dishes, so I’d recommend coming earlier if you want the full choice, but whatever you end up with, it’s bloody lovely! Best Italian I’ve eaten at, full stop!!

This restaurant has been around for decades (although it has moved location) - and you can see why it has survived. Excellent Italian-cuisine menu, good service, lovely atmosphere - great value for such a central London spot. Thoroughly recommended.

Had a nice 3 course dinner here. Started off with the burrata, followed by pasta with truffles and ended with pistachio icecream. Food was great, nothing to complain about. Very authentic Italian. Service was good too. Special shout to the glass of Trentino Sauvignon - so soo good! Would return to the restaurant again.
