Another great restaurant that I went during my stay. Early reservations required as the place often has lot of footfall. Amongst the various dishes that we had, tiger prawns were the most delicious. People who love sea food should definitely try that.

It’s a must go place if you like Thai food.
The service was good and the food was great.
It had the quintessential aroma of Thai spices in the air and it strikes you as soon as you enter in.
The ambience is nice and welcoming.

These are the things we ordered for-

Chili basil chicken
Chicken pad Thai
Beef with coconut curry
Fish cakes
Calamari

Would have loved to try other items on the menu and will probably visit another time to try the rest.

The good thing about being young is that things are only just starting.  There is so much more to come. When I first started cooking, in desperate need of nourishment (I was a smaller man then), I was a rather ineffectual cook.  Luckily, my new British roommate was in possession of a particularly stoic personality and was happy to eat anything that I produced.  If I burned the chicken and said that was to bring out a hint of carbon, he would be great at pretending he believed me.  When I accidentally added a bit too much chilli to my dish and his eyes watered when he ate, he commended my authenticity.  When I set fire to the chair and it looked like a bomb had gone off in our kitchen and he kindly helped to mop/fix it all up, he said it would be great to get some fresh air and go to the local takeaway.

Patara, located in the heart of Soho, serves delicious Thai food.
Service is brisk and professional. Try the beef with broccoli in oyster sauce topped with burnt garlic....its superb !

The food is very good, however the service is slow and the flavours subdued. It certainly caters to a milder palette. Reasonably priced for a fancy night out. The set menu is worthwhile.

A high end Thai restaurant. Make prior reservations if going after 6pm over a weekend.
Staff is courteous. Ambience is nice and romantic.
We tried their buffet, which included lot many Thai delicacies and believe me - each of them were amazing!!
I would recommend this place for at least one time visit if you are a Thai food lover :)

Fine thai cuisine. Enakkk.. Cocok buat dinner sama orang tua hehehe krn menu nya makan tengah gt kan. Pelayananya bagus dan crowd nya enak, tenang padahal ramai yg dateng. Untuk ber 5 kira-kira habis kayak sekitar 100-150 pounds gitu. Ohya! Sblm datang, lebih baik reserve dulu yaa via telf. Saya attached beberapa foto menu2 (yg sempet difoto sebelum makan hehehe) kurang lebih kayak gt makanannya. Slmt mencoba untuk yg mau liburan dan mau (not so) fine dining ;-)

After strolling through Soho with a couple of friends, we landed by mere chance at Patara. What a surprise! The place is magnificent and elegant, the staff incredibly attentive and welcoming and the food is exquisite! Apart from the curries that were the hit of the meal for everybody, my favourites have been the satay trio, the coconut rice and the utterly delicious stir fried prawn. It has been a real pleasure to dine here and I've already suggested to more people to give it a try. If you are in for Thai food, this place will give you an amazing experience.

One of my favourite Thai restaurants. It can get quite busy in here but I've never had to wait long for a table if I haven't booked. Always a good menu and great veggie food choice. Staff are polite and helpful. Lively atmosphere, good for a meal out with friends or a relaxed date.

Best Thai food I had so far. Food:
The subject says it all, the food is really good. My wife, two friend and myself were there yesterday evening (Saturday) had a reservation and left the place knowing that we just had eaten some of the best Thai food ever.

Facility:
The interior design is just gorgeous not only for the ground level but also the lower level dining area. The bathroom are very stylish, spacious and clean, which doesn't happen to often in London.

Staff:
From the receptionist to the waiter and the manager all of the staff were very polite, friendly, helpful, just as one would like to see in a upscale restaurant.

Thank you for a great evening.

Excellent Thai on the expensive side. Excellent restaurant, the decoration is great, modern Thai in dark tones. Service was good the food was excellent, both on taste and presentation.
Prices are a bit on the high side but reasonable for a good restaurant in London. Dinner for two with two starters, three mains and 4 beers was about £40 per person with service included.
Will definitely be going back.

The doors opened to a royal kingdom, a line of waiters and waitresses dressed in uniformed colours of maroon red draped with a gold sash. Bowed their heads to say hello, the scent of lemongrass soaring through the air. Dim lighted candles flickered on the wall; a beautiful mini structure bang right in the middle captivates your eyes. Was I transported to Thailand? Pinch me.

The lobster green curry was not your average green curry, the saucing was exceptional which many layers of flavour, balancing the sweetness of the coconut with the taste of fresh spices permeating through the sweet chunks of lobster. The mains are quite large servings and would be a perfect dishes to share.

Have you ever wondered what guys talk about over dinner? In the absence of their girlfriends/wives (select one) and little ones (delete if appropriate), that is. Well, after a while they would run out of dirty jokes and an uncomfortable silence reigns. It's especially bad if there are only two of them at the table - staring into each others' eyes and giggling clearly isn't an option. It's not that bad for Singaporean guys. At least we can recount the two and the half years spent plowing through thick forests in the middle of the night wearing camouflage and layering ourselves with generous lubes of mosquito repellant. But after awhile, even the most garang of us all ran out of tall tales to tell. Like I said, we would prefer not to stare int

As we sat down the five-course meal begun. The entry dish Kiew Wan Gai Ban, arrived in a golden cauldron boat with a candle burning at the bottom keeping the curry bubbling warm. The thick creamy coconut milk swirled inside the pea coloured sauce. Chicken pieces floated above the surface, a well-balanced curry with a little spice, and sweetness from the palm sugar. The chicken on the other hand was slightly overcooked.

Plaah Gong, was equally sensational, succulent sweet juicy grilled prawns in spicy mint lemongrass and lime dressing.

Nua Tom Kati, thick slices of slow braised beef glazed with chilli to enhance its natural flavours. It still was pinkish, but had incredible flavour and tenderness.

Pad Thai Kai, a signature dish adored by everyone, such a versatile dish with the main ingredient can be swapped according to your taste.

Infused with sweet, savoury flavours best describes Thai cuisine. Noodles cooked perfectly well, naturally flavourful chicken meat, garnished with herbs and a squeeze of limejuice. Each bite provides a forkfuls of comfort, finished with a crunch of beanspouts.

The meal left me with a satisfied full belly; come and experience the unforgettable combination of intimate Thai fine dining.

We went to Patara with my wife's friend, who works in London and swears by Soho. My first impression of the place was that it was a bit crowded. Yes, space isn't easy to come by in London but then the place seemed too packed with tables. The lighting being dim it does help by allowing you to have a space on your own, but still, it does get fairly noisy.

That apart, the food is great. I generally like Thai food and this place did not disappoint. The staff aren't too rushed and pay attention to what you have to say and take down specific requests. The service is also fairly quick. Overall a great experience.

I am an ardent fan of Thai food. Went to this place on a friend's recommendation.
The service was excellent, the food was delicious and truly tasted authentic.
The staff was courteous and very helpful in explaining the lesser known dishes.
At lunch time, they do a good value set menu and at dinner, the full a la carte menu opens up.
We tried all the usual stuff like satay ,dumplings, pad thai and a few others. All the dishes were well presented and subtly flavored.
The decor was absolutely stunning.
Overall, highly recommended if you want an upscale Thai experience in central London.
They have a Chef Choices page in the beginning of the menu. Don't forget to use it!!

Went for a 3 course meal with my partner, the food was good but it more of a inspired dish rather than authentic dish. Still very tasty but the flavours did not hit as well as I would expect thai food would be. Amazing dessert, cannot fault that. Lovely staff and medium noise level but seem a little quite to me as table next to me was listening to the conversation. Overall great dinner experience and would give the place a go again.

Visited on a Sunday at 5pm and was seated straight away. Fantastic food of high quality and great ambiance too. Pad Thai and Lamb shank were great portions and they changed one of the orders around upon request. Mocktails were also very tasty. I can see why people said it’s too dark inside because the lights were dimmed whilst we were eating but I didn’t mind. My friend who wears glasses took a bit of adjusting. Overall I would recommend this place just be prepared to spend a little.

The atmosphere of the restaurant will make you feel like you are in Thailand. However, make sure to book a table in the groundfloor where the decoration is really special, otherwise you may be disappointed. The only downside is that i feel the menu changed a bit over the last few years, which makes it less appealing than before.

Couldn’t ask for more, a lovely and authentic Thai experience with excellent service and atmosphere. We were searching without a reservation and many restaurants were fully booked, so this was initially slightly speculative as they had tables free. An excellent choice. We chose the “silver” menu to try various dishes, all good. For theatre district / soho cocktails and food decent prices. Service swift. Nice to try Thai wine - excellent with the food, not much on its own. All highly recommended

The food was great, so good that I hoovered it all up before I got to take any photos 😂 I had the coconut braised beef! Loved it! The prawns curry is also excellent and so was the spring rolls, and the dumplings too! fake plants and fake candles on the tables 😳 why? Could be more creative there as the space is lovely! Overall I enjoyed my experience, and I will come back for the food for sure!

Patara, fine dining Thai cuisine. An epitome, an emblem and emancipation of delightful Thai food. Thai restaurants have multiplied voraciously over the past 5 years. But Patara has stood the test of time and aged well with his few branches delivering iconic food. The Soho branch has to be my favourite. The ground floor decor and the warm, affectionate staff really leave an indelible impression. An occasion such as a birthday is worthy to be celebrated here. Chor Muang is a signature starter here, a unique dumpling combination is a must. The ginger beef with spicy rice noodles as a main and lamb massama curry with coconut rice was the other. Either main is a brilliant combination which I will let you choose to decide as I could not split both gastric experiences. So visit, enjoy and make a memorable evening albeit at a slightly expensive cost :).

Thai food doesn't get better than this. The restaurant is vegetarian friendly and the service, ambiance is good. I went on a weekday for lunch and it was easy to get a table at the restaurant. One complaint I have about the food is, the vegetables were not boiled well in the curry. It had that crunch left in it, that raw taste and I did not like it. Everything else was just perfect.

Had the wild ginger beef and a Thai tea. Beef was super tender. The chunks of ginger were a nice texture and hit of spice. Was with my mom who had the coconut beef and I tried that as well. Beef was tender in it also and had a wonderful flavor if you enjoy the taste of beef in general. Best Thai food I've ever had in my life to be honest.

The service was fine but on my point of view should improve a little bit, but I can understand after long day of work waiters can be tired and we booked on the last time slot. The starter plate was good but the fish cake it tasted little bit weird and bland. The mains were fine but not amazing. Could be improved. The sticky mango rice, for me should have little bit more of coconut milk because it felt dry, but the mango was really good. We were drinking cocktails but forgot about the names but one was like a passion fruit martini but made with rum. Was good And then the thai Long Island.

Everything was so tasty the cocktails here are really well done and we did not have a single dish that was not excellent. Amazing service and amazing food.

Exquisite Thai food, probably some of the best I've had in London. The sea bass was definitely a highlight, and it was great to see authentic dishes that you don't get everywhere, such as Thai omelettes and the Thai ice tea. Excellent service throughout the meal.
