Loved it! Right by the Thames river, the environment is very friendly and not packed with tourists! You can really enjoy a good chat here. The food is great and the staff are lovely. You’ll have a hard time sitting at the restaurant area, so just sit at the pub and order the same food ;)

Very atmospheric pub.  Downstairs was heaving on a Saturday afternoon but the dining room upstairs is more comfortable and roomy.  Lovely view of the Thames.

I like their style of cooking.  Although the menu consisted of mainly pub standards, everything tasted very light and clean.

My chicken and mushroom pie with mash was quite artisinal with a very thin shortcrust pastry.  Filling was a heavy on the chicken and  light on the bechamel.  The firm mash was as I like it, tasting more of potato than butter and cream.  It was all sitting on a bed of wilted cabbage, blanched green beans and carrots.  All the vegetables al dente and still bright.  Gravy was not terribly flavorful, but pleasant enough.

My companion had tomato soup, which was clearly made from scratch.  It came with lots of griddled baguette.

Portions were quite large, apart from the soup.  Attentive service.

Probably my favorite pub in London. The food is decent, the atmosphere is oldie worldie and cosy, and the views from the shoreline are terrific. Great for a Thursday or Friday night out, especially watching the sunset from the outside deck and when the heat lamps are on.

Stepping into this pub you can feel the history of the place - it's Olde Worlde in a good way: dark wood, beams, uneven floors, and nautical artefacts adorn the walls. It’s only fitting – the pub is the starting point of the Mayflower as it head over to colonise America. The pub was heaving on the Sunday evening we headed in, so the missus and I elected to sit outside on the decking overlooking the Thames. The sound of the lapping water, reminiscent of the voyage itself, was oddly ethereal a metre or so below us on the winters evening we tucked into our roasts.

The food itself was nice enough, nothing to write home about, but equally good enough to sate an appetite and enjoy the ambience of the place. Overall it’s a really nice pub, probably better for a conspiratorial drink than a full blown meal but still a piece of living history well worth experiencing if you’re ever in the area.

My local. Absolutely love this historical pub! Cosy, warm and British on the inside. A terrace with heaters overlooking the Thames on the outside. Fish and chips are my favourite.

The Mayflower is a beautiful peice of history nestled on the banks of the Thames in Rotherhithe.
The pub is warm and intimate and always seems to have a steady flow of custers so be sure to book!
The sweet potato and goats cheese pie comes highly recommended and make sure you check out the specials as there was an amazing pan fried duck dish when I went there last!

One of the oldest pubs in London, absolutely teeming with history, you can almost hear the ol' seafarers wiling away time in this river facing pub.

Inside, all the old beams are intact, lending a warm cosy family atmosphere and outside you can sit by the river and watch the world go by. The pub quizzes here are legendary although unfortunately I've failed to make it for this, but it's on my list and one day I'll make it, a group of friends in tow and tuck into one of their lovely fish and chip or cheese dinners.

Mayflower, a long-standing favourite pub of mine and my husband's. It is one of London's oldest pub and has a massive history behind it, thoughtfully dotted in quotes around the place.

We went there for a fantastic cheeseboard and an enormous independent pub lunch. Three of us had a chicken and leek pie, fish finger bap, and sausage bap. All big and filling, perfect for a freezing cold day and downed with a good pint selected from quite a good range.

There is a good, fun atmosphere which draws a good evening crowd. What I also like about this place is that they do this excellent pub quiz which doesn’t have a sports round (well, it didn’t when Canadian Jen, Alison and I went the one time) which meant that the team “Two brunettes and a blonde” managed to come in second. Mr Man and I go there a lot and will continue to do so as long as I live in London. Just don’t tell too many people about it – we don’t want them to run out of their fantastic cheeseboards…

The Mayflower can be found just around the corner from Rotherhithe Station on the East London Line. Prices are very reasonable and the view, when it’s not raining, is superb.

One of the great old pubs of London, since its changed hands a couple of years ago its grown from strength to strength, a younger vibrant staff who are all about good standards and service, the food is great and consistent whenever you go there book able tables and a great choice so real ales looked after just as they should be! If your in the area or just visiting London wandering along the river on the south side give it a visit you won't be disappointed.

What a place this is, stopped off for drinks and something to eat. Sat upstairs in the restaurant and what an amazing place it is, full of charm and character, service was excellent ( thankyou) was timely, ordered and served up the food again just at the right time no waiting but not rushing either and added lovely chat/info about the pub and it's history. The beers were lovely with plenty of choice , I really fancied a pie and boy was I in for a treat. The pie was excellent as was my wife's stuffed butternut squash. After we finished we popped back downstairs for a beer in the snug..... again what a lovely place and all at reasonable prices. Excellent.

An absolute gem of a pub. Especially good for a date or taking American visitors 😉. But even if you're not interested in the history this pub is a darling day out. Stay down stairs for the 'pub' atmosphere. It has a deck 'pub garden' for the summer and a fireplace for the winter. Or head upstairs for a dining experience. The service was great, the food delicious (fish & chips, or even vegan options), and there light makes you feel like you are on a ship. Upstairs or downstairs every inch has something interesting to look at.

Fun pub on the Thames River. The fish and chips were delicious. My cousin has a gluten intolerance and was thrilled to be able to get gluten free fish and chips. My daughter had the steak pie, which also was tasty. The inside decor was authentic and lively. Great all around meal.

The place certainly deserves an overall five-star rating due to the combination of its vibe, foods, and services. Although the indoor seats are relatively narrow and limited, the extension of ground floor are basically on the Thames River. You can totally enjoy the wonderful scenery while having a beer or a proper meal with friends and loved ones. Grab the available seats first and make your order! The confit duck I tried was delicious. However, I do think the peas and sauce accompanied were too salty to me in the end. Food portion was pretty ideal for a male adult. The rib and wings platter was very nice. I like how it came with roasted corns. You can observe a lot of legacy photographs and historical items related to the famous Mayflower ship. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The highlight was definitely the sunset in summer. Recommend to all.

Good place for some amazing cuisine and have a lot of vegetarian options. I really enjoyed the vegetable platter. It had an array of deep fried vegetables with cucumber to cauliflower. The burger was soft and filled with flavour. It had a slight crunch and filled with various textures. Absolutely loved the sweet potato fries which really accentuated the saltiness and crunchiness of the deep fried potato. A great place with good service.

Very nice pub to visit. Good food, good beer and food views. Best place to sit is the outside area facing the river. We had the chicken pie and fish and chips and both were good. Will definitely visit again

This is a pub with a lot of character. The food is good, staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is unbeatable. Good ambient music as well. Not cheap, but that comes with the location. I highly recommend it.

Nice old pub on the bank of the Thames. It looks like, and is an authentic old pub with dark wooden interior. Outside serving area overlooking the river is super cosy and has great views of the river and surrounding wharfs. Good service and great selection of beer and cider, food is good too.

Wanted to experience dining in an old pub in London on my trip there, so after some digging, I found out about the Mayflower. With prior reservation, I was able to book a table for dinner. The pub itself has a great atmosphere, with lots of pictures and documents regarding the history of the pub and days in the XVII century. The staff was very friendly. And the food very very good. There I had the authentic Guinness beer and it tasted so good. Not at all like the caned one back at home. I definitely recommend this place! But don't forget to make a reservation. The restaurant upstairs wasn't that full, but the pub and terrace downstairs were.

BEAUTIFUL pub with the best roast south of the water. If you get a good seat outside there’s nothing like the Mayflower. Top notch meat and vegetarian roast. Only downside is they get (understandably) busy, so sometimes service is a trifle slow.

I think everyone knows how pretty this place is! We had to wait a little bit until we could order but that's fine. My friend really liked his food but we both agreed on that the veggie sausages I had were really bland unfortunately. At least the plate looks pretty lol

Four of us had an absolutely amazing meal at the Mayflower. Two of us ordered the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection add some of the best chips I've ever had! One of us ordered the lamb rump and the other the baked cod and all scraped our plates clean. One of us had the sticky toffee pudding which he said was perfect. It smelled delicious but unfortunately most of our bellies were full by then! We sat downstairs and the pub was very busy as it was a Saturday however you didn't feel like you were in London it was very friendly and a great atmosphere. We had a table for 2 hours and it went very quickly. Would definitely recommend this pub if you are in that area. We will be back again.

Great little pub! A little small/snug, but felt really traditional because of it. I only got a drink, Thames path pit stop, but from the back landing I could see old and new London. Did not eat but what came out of kitchen looked immense.

Supposedly this is the oldest pub in London and it is awesome. The food, the staff, the beers or BIERS/Ale/Lager are awesome. They have a back patio deck thing that overlooks the thames river and as it's told This is the pub that Christopher Columbus and others used to visit and moored their ships up outside So that was really neat. The inside is decorated with old school history from the 1700s era and more! Definetly stop in and grab a few pints of the local mayflower scurvy ale! It's awesome!

We Travelled over 1hr to come to see this historic pub it's always Been on my to do list and I wasn't disappointed it had beautiful interior and a great outdoor space on the veranda where they had bench tables over looking the Thames, and the food menu was reasonably priced and the food came quick and was delicious. Also had a vast range of beers which always takes me ages to choose . But all in all and beautiful pub with lots of history and character 😀
