Ordered delivery 1 pasta. Its super tasty. All ingredients are tasty. Food arrived warm with a delivery time of just 12 minutes. Will order again for sure.
Liked the interior and decor which reflected a fine dining experience through its a casual dining restaurant. Service was super efficient and staffs waiting on the table were friendly. The food arrived quickly. The choice was plenty with a fusion of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. good for business lunch.
The Iskele is a Mediterranean restaurant with a really cool decoration. Food was great, the lamb casserole packed a punch, and the super mix grill was very enjoyable (I shared with a friend, I'm not that much of a glutton). We had a meze and halloumi starters, well cooked, can't really go wrong with those options. For dessert we shared an ottoman kadayaif and a konefe. Delicious but way too much for a single person. Price was reasonable for the experience.
The stuffed vine leaves were brilliant as was the spicy prawns with a hint of ginger, the lamb kofta patties were delicately spiced and with the chili sauce that they offer as an accompaniment it was superb. I do think they should lose the fries with this dish though - seems out of place. The Turkish rice pudding was also fabulous. Aside from this little gem being tucked away in a side street that I almost missed, really good food!
The ambience is nice, the decor transports you to Istanbul, and the food portions very generous and sumptuous :) what more can a girl ask for a mid-week mid-work lunch.
They have nice Turkish Merlot wines as well in case you did want to ask for more ;)
I had the chicken skewers as my main and chicken wings for starters and I was well fed and very happy by the end.
Recommend this if you are in this area.
Very very good. First of all, it is one of the very few restaurants open until late in the evening, so that if you want to enjoy a show or an exibition at the Barbican, you can definitely eat something good without rushing out in the middle of the performance. The staff was kind, the atmpsphere warm and cosy, and the "special chef" was simply delicious. It was not the first time for me eating Turkish food, and this one was indeed one of the best meal I had ever had. I strongly recommend it, also because prices are even with the quality of what you are offered. A weak point? Perhaps the desserts.
As we had come to The Iskele late lunchtime, we were expecting it to be fairly quiet. But it was the opposite, the restaurant was pretty much packed and so it was a good thing that I had made a reservation. The luscious colours, wall hangings and lanterns from the ceiling welcomes diners into The Iskele! The dining area is fairly big although some of the tables are quite close together. There are lots of ornaments decorating the walls and shelves around the restaurant. The Iskele also has quite a big outdoor dining area with wooden tables and chairs. A hot and cold starter were chosen! The Falafel were crispy little patties made of chickpeas and had a good flavour to them. They were served on houmous with salad. The classic Houmous was a generous portion and we were given warm bread to go with it. Layers of potato, aubergine and courgette with a cheese sauce made up the main dish of Vegetarian Moussaka. It was topped with a lovely tomato sauce as well. The Moussaka was a really filling
For meat eaters you'll have a field day with the variety of meals on offer, but the options for vegetarians are a bit lacklustre in comparison.
The food is a reasonable price as the portions served are a good size. The staff too were kind in helping us decide what food to get, and there wasn't a person who regretted their option.
Very friendly service and delicious food. It was so good that we decided to eat there twice in three days. Perfect combination of italian and turkish food.
iskender kebab with lamb is really great!
Perfect and very polite service!
We enjoyed our visit and the meal indeed! ❤️
A great place to have a catch-up lunch with a friend. That is, until someone decides to celebrate their birthday in a deafening manner.
What a great find! Three of us seated with no reservation and no problem.
The food was amazing. Italian and Turkish food - an unusual mix but we had Turkish and it was delicious.
Probably the best lamb Ive had for years.
Good service, quick food delivery and we never felt rushed at all.
Genuinely recommend this place and will go again if in the area.
Had a lovely meal at Iskele. I ordered the falafel with chips and salad. Service was very good, could not fault it. Surprisingly no service charge is added and it's your choice if you want to leave a tip.
Expect to pay £20 - £25 per head with a drink.
It's a big restaurant and was quite noisy but that aside I would happily recommend Iskele.
We were a large group and a long table and the waiter/owner kept topping up wine so we purchased more bottles as the people down the table did not know if bottles were full at the top. I would expect a waiter to check all bottles before opening up new ones. We had three full wine bottles at the end of the night which we had to pay for. Those who were not drinking wine had to wait 15 mins before a waiter looked in our direction and a different drink could be ordered. Food was nice and tasty. I would come back as a small group so I can keep an eye on the tab. Music was too loud and room very noisy so hard to hear people next to you. This was partly our group but also other diners too. We were also crammed in so had to eat with elbows tight against our bodies.
Delicious food and fast service and in a friendly atmosphere, all what you are looking for in one package.
Absolutely loved it. Great value for money, wonderful service. Very fresh ingredients and simple but lovely cooking. I don't think it needs any Italian dishes - I would 100% go here again. Love the fact that they kept their prices to pre pandemic era; goes to show how businesses respect their customers. Would absolutely visit again.
Came here for a work lunch with my team, I got the spicy sausage and halloumi pitta. It was a tasty treat, big lunch! The portion is huge with the chips as well. Friendly staff and good service.
Seems like a popular spot for work lunches as there were many groups of people.
My colleague recommended this place and she said that the grilled fish here is the best, and the seafood in general. All portions are very generous here.
Really nice restaurant. Food delicious, especially lamb shish kebab!
Met family here for dinner after a day out. Had a lovely meal, food and service was very good. One of our party was vegetarian and they too enjoyed the meal. Would recommend.
Never fails to deliver. Great food and great staff.
I had the lamb cutlets and my friend had the iskender. I love the chops even though this time they were slightly over cooked but the taste was great.
First time I tried the kunefe. Too much for one person / me but was perfectly made.
Why not the 5 stars. It’s good solid food with some good flavours. Never lets me down after 12 years of coming here but I have to rate it against other places.
I’d highly recommend going here. Lunch deals are amazing. One of my favourite go to places!
A really nice location with super friendly people and great food.
We went there twice during our last London visit and enjoyed delicious Pasta, Pizza, Dips and deserts.
Mediterranean cuisine is always a good choice. Position are good size and the food is really tasty, definitely I'll return.
A very warm and friendly place with great decor. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly. Te food was excellent.
Absolutely exquisite restaurant with relaxing seating outside on a quiet road, with a huge menu covering both Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Super fresh, perfectly cooked and great attention to customer requirements regarding allergies etc. The staff couldn't have been more delightful. A truly memorable evening! Will be back!
Excellent food and service, but getting pricey
