Had a wonderful experience here. The steak served was of really good quality. We also had the crispy courgette and truffle fries. Both were outstanding. I'll definitely be back to try out the other mains like salt Marsh lamb and fish options. The Jones Family Project is definitely more than a steak house.

Really nice restaurant!

The space is interesting and trendy and the food is really amazing.

I tried the pork ribs and the meat was really tender and tasty. The potates were also very good.

The burger was a little bit passed but good.

There are a number of things in London that fly under the radar no matter how good they might be. The Jones Family Project is one to add to that list. And yet I just can’t understand why – it has a great location (just a few minutes’ walk from Old Street), stunning fit-out and a food-and-drink offer for absolutely everyone. During the day the ground-floor bar is transformed into a cafe where you’re encouraged to make yourself at home, connect to the WiFi and stay hydrated with their tea and coffee offerings. So, if you find yourself working on the move and passing through Shoreditch, gone are the days of hunting out a place with the right height tables, power sockets and comfortable seats while avoiding making eye contact with the staff who want to move you on.

This place is the ultimate in 'Family' run restaurants in London. The reason that family is in quotations is because the guys and girls behind the Jones Family Project aren't actually all related but through the time they have spent together and the ventures they have dabbled in they have become almost family. Why Jones then you may ask? Well.. because they liked it!

I’m back! It’s been a long time, and I’ve neglected my little bit of the internet for one of the hardest and most heartbreaking months I’ve ever had. But I’m so glad to be getting back into the swing of things – and what better way to do that than a post about BRUNCH!

The Jones Family Project has been one of those places that since I first heard it mentioned, it seems to have been mentioned about a million times since, either recommended to me by friends of friends or popping up on other blogs. Located right across from the Hoxton Hotel, it’s in a great location for a quick bite before scouring all that Shoreditch has to offer (I got a fabulous hat and leather skirt from the The Vintage Store close by, as well as a great deal on a light pink skater skirt from the American Apparel sale rack down the road - just some non-food tips for anyone interested!)

Spring had just sprung when we popped in – we’d reserved a table for quarter to eleven – but we didn’t really need to, though it did begin to fill up as we left. The venue itself is really light, and on-trend, too.

After our morning mimosas, my brunch date ordered the eggs benedict, which looked amazing (and got her seal of approval).

I opted for the Jones baked eggs – two free-ranged eggs served in a terracotta pan, but without the toasted bread (which arrived anyway). I went for the baked eggs with chorizo, peppers, red onions, white wine, potatoes, tomatoes and rosemary. The dish was very Iberian – it had a distinct Spanish/Portuguese flavour to it, and was really delicious – the combination of the baked eggs with the chorizo was divine.

The cocktail menu, as well as the bar snack and lunch selection also looks really appetising – and with such a great location Jones Family Project looks like it would be great place to go slightly later in the day too.

My brunch, including mimosa, tea, and the eggs came to around £20, which is pretty standard given that you are paying for the location.

The Vibe

Call me a lazy dater, but nothing makes me smugger than finding a café-cum-restaurant in which I can go from remote desk to bar stool in one easy manoeuvre. At The Jones Family Project, I can do just that; by day, the ground floor is a freelance-friendly café, complete with a dedicated nook housing a desk and a printer (the stuff of self-employed dreams). By night, the shelves behind the bar swivel, hiding tea and coffee particulars in favour of cocktail-ware (said swivel was deftly demonstrated by the maître-d, one of a charming and enthusiastic team). This is one of many considered décor details, from industrial-style structures separating intimate booths from private dining rooms, to leafy plants growing out of tub chair-surrounded tables. Exposed brick tells you you’re in Shoreditch, but the crowd is more discerning than the City ladz that typically frequent that stretch of Great Eastern Street – on the night we visit, Pixie Geldof is dining at the table along.

The Order

Start by swigging a couple of cocktails at the ground floor bar (a lavender mojito was the perfect tonic for a hectic Thursday), before moving downstairs for serious feasting. The crispy squid comes liberally served, so have it to share and proceed to evangelise about its perfect spicy/tart ratio. With meat sourced from the famed Ginger Pig butchers and cooked in the restaurant’s Josper charcoal oven, this is the perfect place to bring a carnivorous lover – the fillet steak in red wine sauce is practically orgasmic, though IRL orgasms may have to wait until you’ve recovered from the food coma such a statuesque slab of meat is wont to cause. A shout out for the oft ignored seasonal greens – Jones’s iteration is spicy and sesame-coated, and those bad boys are DIVINE.

The Game

Leave veggie Vernon at home. This one’s for meat lovers and meat lovers alone, although the chic but cool interiors will satisfy both Silicon roundabout snobs and the more discerning of City types (as long as they don’t have beef with beef). Request a booth for some anticipatory footsie.

The Faults

Cheap and cheerful this ain’t, but the massive, mouth-watering portions and superb quality meat are happy justifications.

Sex Factor

3. Inevitable meat sweats may hamper sexy time (unless, erm, you’re into that kind of thing), but if the way to their heart is through their stomach, a next date is guaranteed.

I have been here a couple of times for drinks, as they have a good happy hour on the ground floor bar. I’ve even ventured downstairs once or twice, but I really didn’t truly notice the cavernous restaurant and bar space on the lower ground floor. Wow. We had our first taste of this Shoreditch grill recently and I loved everything about it. It’s family owned, so a lot of love has gone into this place from the comfy decor to the quality sourced produce. The menu is not huge, which works in this case, as it is mostly meat options from the josper charcoal oven (highly rated for good steakhouses).

We began what would transpire to be a LOT of food with a couple of starters: the Cornish crab with guacamole and crustini, wafer-thin little toasts over which to spread the creamy crab meat.... just LOOK at the colour of this one. That’s the colour of love, that is. And it tasted as good as it looks; all JFP’s steaks come from posh Marylebone butchers the Ginger Pig, who are also famous for doing Hawksmoor’s steaks....One of the very best things about JFP is its dedication to small, local suppliers. I do make a conscious effort to eat ethically at home, buying meat from Smithfield’s butchers instead of the supermarket and so on, but it can be difficult sometimes, especially when eating out.

Jones Family Project is a relaxed, friendly, and very comfortable place to enjoy a meal while catching up with friends. Spread over two levels, you can choose to pop into the ground floor bar for a cocktail and a bite or head downstairs for a full-fledged meal. The understated décor of the lower ground restaurant helps open up the space and create an airy feel while the enthusiastic energy of the staff will make you feel at home. The food is mainly European inspired and focuses on fresh UK produce – essentially a bit of gourmet home cooking executed with style. I first tried out JFP at the soft open and enjoyed it although there were a few things I wasn’t thrilled about, most notably the texture of the burger. Since then, the menu has been revamped (and is about to change once again with the warmer season) so when some old college friends were in town for a catch up it was the first place that came to mind. Plus, Anna (the matriarch of JFP) has told me they’d re-worked the burger so I

Though there is no shortage of restaurants in Shoreditch, the ever changing nature of the area means that is often difficult to actually select a place to eat. I had swithered with trying out The Jones Family Project since its opening back in November so when I received an email advertising a free Gin cocktail sampling I was sold.

Arriving a little early we hesitantly swung open the large glass door to the bright bar to be greeted by a cheery host whose enthusiasm soon put us at ease at about our uncool eagerness.

Seated with free popcorn (that kept getting refilled), a £2.50 happy hour beer and a shot glass of cocktail I was already content with my selection. The bar soon began to fill with punters straight from work and, though busy, the staff remained completely on the ball making sure that all customers were catered for.

I am easily embarrassed so often feel shy cracking out my camera in a bar or restaurant, however here it was encouraged – the cocktail waiter even helping me to get the best angle of one of their gin offerings.

I really liked 3 out of 4 cocktails, they all were very different in flavour so would suit most palates but I think my winner was Don’t Get in a Muddle which was made up of Hendrick’s, cucumber, rose, lime and prosecco which not only made me feel a like a posh Nanna with the combination of gin and bubbles but also because the citrus tones made it light – perfect for summer drinking.

After a brief financial discussion we had previously decided that we would just stay for the cocktail sampling however after a couple of drinks it seemed silly to end such a fun evening prematurely so we ventured downstairs to the restaurant.

The decor was quirky without being tacky and followed an indoor garden theme throughout which made it feel homely and gave a feeling of Alfresco dining. The main restaurant is large but is separated into areas by a greenhouse style structure creating a more intimate feeling.

Once we had settled at a nice corner table inside the greenhouse I took a wander around the rest of the space. Happily nosing around I was stopped by the friendly chap who first greeted us on entry.

He asked if I had seen the special 70’s table, I had not so he guided me over to the far corner where stood a dining room that was so carefully put together that it would not have looked out of place in a museum. He explained to me that every few weeks the table and surrounding area is completely ripped out to make room for a new concept that also comes with food to match. I loved the fact that they put so much detail and it was not just a gimmicky pop up.

After my little tour it was time to get eating!! First up was corn bread, when it arrived I was disappointed in its delicate portion size (as I have mainly had corn bread in America and am accustomed to a slab) however paired with the amazing chilli butter was a nice appetiser which I would not be kind enough to share next time.

The menu is very meat heavy so for my main I went for the garden salad which I know sounds incredibly dull. When it arrived I was impressed that they had presented a simple salad in such an artistic manner with splashes of colour and conflicting textures, it was not only pretty but also fresh and bursting with earthy flavours.

I was hesitant about trying out The Jones Family Project as I was concerned that it was just another soul-less mid priced restaurant that had crept its way into Shoreditch. Thankfully, I was completely wrong. This independent place is well thought out, friendly, atmospheric and if they continue to do things in their own heartfelt way I think will become a Shoreditch staple.

The Jones Family Project has a lot going for it – a prime spot on Shoreditch’s Great Eastern Street opposite The Hoxton hotel, meat from renowned butchers the Ginger Pig who supply the Hawksmoor, very well-made cocktails, friendly staff and a touch of quirkiness. So why when we visited was it so quiet apart from raucous Christmas party groups?

It certainly wasn’t what we expected, not too Shoreditchy and industrial, more homely with mismatched zoned rooms and even a bookcase filled with books to share amongst customers. There isn’t actually a family behind it, but a large group of collaborators including the co-founders of the Pitcher & Piano chain, but don’t let that put you off.

There’s two bars, one is upstairs to which they’ve done something clever – functional shelves that during the day display tea and coffee, then swivel around to reveal booze for the evening service, we want this in our house! Trees sprout through tables, lights gently twinkle giving a really cosy feel. The downstairs bar has cute intimate booth seating and an interchangeable stand-alone dining space, most recently it was made into a 1920s gin distillery.

I have to say that I wasn’t keen on the decor of the main dining area, loved the tartan carpet but the heavy lime green chairs made me feel like I was in a Holiday Inn, or worse – Wetherspoons. Such a stark contrast to the sleek booths just around the corner by the bar. Great original artwork throughout however – a print reminiscent of my childhood hung on the wall by our table. Music was chilled and the lighting low, so perfect for a date night.

The wine list was more extensive that we imagined, the cheapest bottle of red at £19 but we were in the mood for cocktails (when are we not?) There just so happened to be one with my name on it, quite literally – the Saffron Sour £9 with lemon juice and orange bitters. The balance of Saffron was just right, this is probably one of my favourite cocktails of the year, but then I am biased. Ade went for his current favourite – Diplomatico Old Fashioned £11, what set this apart was the addition of a few coffee beans that ‘brewed’ and altered the flavour of the drink the longer you left it.

No small plates here, you get to eat whatever you order all to yourself, just like the old days, hooray! To start I went for the Spiced crispy squid £7.50 with a chilli pepper sauce and lime mayonnaise, which unfortunately resembled dollops of ketchup and mayonnaise on the plate, cheapening it somewhat. Although I just raved about not having to share, this is actually a dish made for sharing, it was tasty just perhaps too big a serving.

Ade had the Date and chorizo wrapped in bacon with a white bean and piquillo pepper sauce £8. Far too overpoweringly rich for me but he adored it. It was like concentrated maple cured bacon, evocative of the crispy bacon and maple we had in Vegas – his perfect blend of sweet and savory.

Next up I was so very temped to order another Saffron Sour but the Jones Winter Apple Pie £9 sounded like it would go perfectly with my main course of Pork rib eye steak £18.50. A huge glistening hunk of meat atop a warm salad of chorizo, potatoes, savoy cabbage, honey balsamic and charred chillies.

Oh my goodness, absolute meat heaven! The pork was nicely charred in the Josper oven, yet succulent and tender once I delved in. The mix of chilli in the cabbage gave it an extra kick whilst the honey balsamic complimented the meat. The cocktail was the cherry on the cake with warming cinnamon tones – a perfect duo to have on a freezing cold December night.

Ade also went down the Josper route, it’s so hard not to when you know the meat is from such a good supplier. The Rump of black-faced hogget £24 caught his eye as he’d never tried hogget before, nor heard of it. It took a quick Google to find out it was not quite a lamb and not mutton either, more of a toddler (he checked the menu at work pre-visit). It came served with truffled potato dauphinoise, grilled broccoli, mint chutney and red wine sauce. The meat was cooked pink in the middle with that crust that you can only get from a Josper grill.

By now the huge Christmas group had arrived, all 30 of them sat around a massive dining table making a right old noise, at least they were having a good time but I couldn’t help but think they’ll probably be too drunk and distracted to appreciate what’s on their plate.

When it came to dessert there was only one choice for me – Langley’s gin and orange semifreddo orange and crushed meringues £5. Although a bit of a weird follow-up to my cosy main course, this was so cold it jolted my teeth, but it was refreshing, light and unusual, which can be hard to find on dessert menus.

Sticking with the fruity theme, Ade went for the Warm almond and Amarena cherry cake £5, served with a dash (not enough) of pistachio creme Anglaise. It’s almost like these desserts were made for us, we get stupidly excited when this happens as we’ve had enough ‘generic’ chocolate brownies to last a lifetime (that said there’s one on the menu here too).

With slightly swollen but happy bellies, we left the warmth of The Jones Family Project behind, wishing it well for the future. It’s actually been around for a whole year, but we’d never heard of it. People need to hear of it, because what they’re offering is really great food with high quality ingredients, and oh those cocktails…

The Jones Family Project is an “ever-evolving restaurant, bar and social space in the heart of Shoreditch.” Keen to keep up with all the Joneses and their foodie doings (there’s actually no one behind this venue named Jones funnily enough), I dropped by this past weekend for a taste of the restaurant’s recently added Sunday roast menu and left satisfied and hoping the Sunday offering is one new evolution that will last.

The highlight of my JFP experience was my massive serving of roast chicken with all the trimmings and gravy (£15.50) which total subsided a major craving I’d been having. The meat was juicy and superbly roasted. Trimmings were ample and tasty. I had the pleasure of dining with Kemey. She loved her starter of Cornish crab (with avocado sauce and crostini, £9.50). I had a bite (or two); it was really good. She raved about the vegetarian nut roast with white cheese sauce (£13.50) too. I had a bite of it as well and definitely could ‘taste’ her point.

I enjoyed my bloody Mary, while Kemey sipped a refreshing Aperol Spritz. Dessert was a pleasure too. I cherished every bite of my Jones Vanilla Bean Cheese ‘cake’ with homemade nut granola, passion fruit (£5) and would be certain to save room for it second time round. Coffees (sourced from Black Sheep) were awesome too.

JFP is one of the more comfortable and attractive dining venues in Shoreditch. It’s also one of the biggest. The multi-storey can seat 200. Indeed, the place feels big – but not vast. Clever design, cheery décor, and smartly situated seating areas, bars and private dining spaces create an inviting ambience. I reckon if you’re planning a Christmas dinner or office do? Keep the Jones’s Shoreditch hub in mind. Or just a quiet meal or catch up with friends … even just a coffee and WiFi? Likewise.

Kemey and I were looked after well (I should mentioned though that they knew I was there to review the menu), but as far as I could tell so were all the other parties of various numbers seated close by. We sat downstairs near the open kitchen – and really got a kick out of being next to such buzzy culinary goings-on. Of course, if we had preferred a more secluded setting that would have been available to us as well.

The Sunday roast and brunch menu is served from 11am to 5pm.

I'm going to try and not be really spiteful in my review for this restaurant, simply because my JFP experience was in fact a date, and although the company for the evening sort of prevents me from reminiscing positively about the meal, it's not the JFP project that said date is now back with his ex.

The food is pretty pricey, but really flavoursome at the same time - had I not been on a first date, I probably would have licked the plate clean, and to be honest because I didn't pay, I like to think of the cost of the meal as karma.

The date's burger looked absolutely delicious - although he removed the tomato and lettuce which should have probably sirenned alarm bells straight away.

Definitely would recommend if you're in the area, but take a friend or a sibling instead!

Good food at a good price

Had a decent meal here where the overall quality matches the price. Not to say it was bad, but rather it's not overpriced like most of the other restaurant I tried. This is a great place when you're tired and just want to eat.

4 points for ambiance....it's pretty stylish. I enjoyed my  fish fingers on glazed demi brioche bun and Pork Milanese accompanied by a lot of sides.

Go here on a romantic date the place looks nice and price if fine. You can even go here when you're hungry after touring or working all day.

You can even get a reasonably priced bottle of wine that will make your meal sweeter.

We went The Jones Family Project as we wanted to experience this family-run business based in Hoxton. As they were in the process of changing menus, we decided to go with taking a snapshot from the past and future.

Whilst we made our menu selections during chatting to the friendly Anna (Anna Watts, one of the owners) and Cristiano (executive head chef and also co-owner/founder) to get an insight into the new dishes, as well as being taken on a tour of the premises, we sipped on cocktails of a rum negroni (with a refreshing addition of grapefruit – from the current cocktail menu) and a peashoots pisco mojito with pisco aba, lime juice and honey (from the new cocktail menu soon to arrive). It reminded us of pisco sours we had enjoyed whilst on holiday in Peru.
Loved the art by Fanakapan in the private events entrance on Rivington Street – with his creation of a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, pots with elegant character by Fian Andrews, and the general design and decor of the restaurant. A wonderful, bright and airy space with the novel additions of tree dotted around. They even had gnomes behind the bar – by Tusch und Egon.

We tucked starters of lightly spiced squid and crispy aubergine involtini (from the current menu), mains of baked salmon, Jones’ Chuck burger and creole spiced chicken with a lime mayo and vibrant salsa (from past and future menus), and desserts of orange tart and brandy bread and butter pudding.
The baked salmon was enjoyable but we would have preferred the original seabass on the current menu, as salmon has too strong a flavour for this lighter dish. However, loved the heat from the creole spices on the chicken which went perfectly with the lime mayo and the palate cleansing salsa. Also, the burger was juicy and complemented by the pickles. Even though we were stuffed by this point, we had a duty to our readers to soldier on and we dived into our dessert which were very moreish – and a great end to the meal.

We could not leave without trying two more cocktails from their new summer menu, so we opted for the basil and lavender mojitos. They are light, fragrant and have floral notes and are perfect to bring the summer in!
Thank you to Anna, Cristiano and team for looking after us so well, and for excellent cocktails and food. We had a lovely time and will be back again very soon, especially to give your new cocktail menu a proper workout!

I rarely write something up this quickly, but I felt compelled to after such a pleasant evening. The Jones Family Project is officially opening on Monday 25th November when you are of course all otherwise engaged watching me perform with the Kensington Symphony Orchestra in the brand new Milton Court venue in the Barbican. Therefore, you need to head on over to Great Eastern Street between now and then for the soft opening (with 50% off food) so that we can chat about it after my concert.

I was invited along to the opening party by co-founder Anna Watts after befriending her on Twitter. Anna has worked in the food and drink industry for a while, having set up the Rocket restaurant group with her husband Duncan and friend Amit Joshi back in 1999. The three of them have teamed up again to open a friendly restaurant and bar set over two spacious floors near Old Street.

List Leader Natalie got the nod to be my +1 after reaching 100 points on the Leaderboard last week. We made straight for the bar and perused the cocktail menu that has a lot of fun with the family motif. The section titled "Uncle Albert does like his ale" is right up my street with Stout Daiquiri, Chivas Bitter and Beefeater Cider to choose from.

As well as a great cocktail list, there is an impressive back bar full of interesting spirits, two craft beers on tap (the wonderful Beavertown Gamma Ray APA and their own Jones Lager brewed for them by Meteor), and a special wine dispensing device. James, head of the relatively new Cleveland Bay Vodka, was the first of several friendly guests to chat to us at the bar - I look forward to trying his product soon. Gins are out in force with Botanist, Gin Mare, Butler's and Bathtub all making an appearance.

The family theme runs through the décor too, with several attractive house structures hovering over tables, and Granny's Dining Room set up downstairs.

The family theme runs through the décor too, with several attractive house structures hovering over tables, and Granny's Dining Room set up downstairs.

There's plenty to excite on the food menu, including Duck Egg Scramble, Ginger Pig steaks, Truffled Macaroni Cheese, and an array of tempting desserts. Canapé versions of some of their dishes were brought round throughout the evening. I was particularly taken with the baked Medjool dates stuffed with chorizo & wrapped in bacon, served with white bean, piquillo and tomato sauce.

Puddings are very affordable at £5 and you need look no further than Anna's Triple Chocolate Brownie served with vanilla bean ice cream and salted caramel sauce - incredible. Natalie was understandably cross when I accidentally kicked one out of her hand. Luckily, a member of the extended Jones Family was on hand with reserves. I can also highly recommend the Olive Oil Chocolate Mousse with crushed chocolate cookies, honeycomb, raspberry syrup and fresh raspberries.

There is a mix of art around the place, including a collage of classic board game bits and pieces made by Anna herself. The ladies' toilets have backwards writing on the wall which you can only read properly through the mirror, and the gents' will hopefully soon have moustaches on the mirror so that you can line yourself up for a Mo-vember selfie.

We had a quick look around the upstairs bar which is beautifully designed. The indoor trees look wonderful and the lighting is superb. There is free Wifi available all day (from 8am-midnight Mon-Fri and 10am-10.30pm Sat-Sun), and one table in the corner is even set up as an office space for anyone that wants it, as long as they get a coffee at some point! The use of music stands around the place also adds to the homely feel.

We left Anna to entertain her other guests and went back to befriending the rest of the Jones Family. The "family" tag isn't just a gimmick, the staff were working as one, and were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Patrick behind the bar, Beth on the floor, Cristiano in the kitchen and several others made us feel very welcome, and it is that kind of service that makes you want to return! I hope they have a successful first year.

Jones Family Project is a new opening that resides directly opposite The Hoxton Hotel in the heart of Shoreditch and I was lucky enough to grab a booking for their first night's service. We stepped through the door to a warm welcome and were quickly shown to our seats. The first thing you notice on entering is that this place is so much bigger than you originally thought. At street level JFP offers a laid back bar area, that with a flick of a few cleverly designed cabinets can be transformed from a brunch and lunch spot, into a fully stocked bar ready for a night on the tiles! They even have a little office space for one for those of you that are lucky enough to set up shop wherever you choose that day. You can then treat yourself to a range of great tasting dishes for lunch but if you want to sample their À La Carte menu, the serious stuff happens in the basement. The restaurant below is huge! I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. Complete with a great looking bar, private booths and an open kitchen, you could tell a lot of effort had gone into creating the space.

First things first, we headed for the drinks menu. With it being a Tuesday evening we felt we should probably steer clear of the cocktails but noted that the list was plentiful and had some unique twists, such as the Lavender Mojito and the Stout Daiquiri, that we will definitely be indulging in on our next visit. JFP boasts a self titled Jones Family Lager, so we decided to order a pint each, to see how it stacked up to the usual stuff. I'm normally a cider man but I don't mind a well crafted beer and this definitely fell into that category. It was smooth and light and went down extremely easy.

We turned our heads to the menu and boy was there some hard decisions to be made! The starters alone had me stumped with options such as the House-Cured Brandy Salmon, Duck Liver & Brandy Parfait or even the Jones' Charcuterie Board. I went with an intriguing little dish though that caught my eye as I love all the ingredients individually but was keen to see how this combination would work. Needless to say the Baked Medjool Dates Stuffed With Chorizo & Wrapped in Bacon with a White bean & Tomato Sauce was absolutely spot on! My only regret was that there wasn't more of them! The chorizo offered so much flavour but the sweetness of the dates was the perfect pairing for me and my sweet tooth. The bacon sealed it for me, creating what felt like a sweet version of everybody's Christmas favourites, Pigs In Blankets.

My dining companion opted for the Red Curry Spiced Crispy Squid with Asian herbs, Salsa Verde & House-Made Lime Mayonnaise, which was met with equally as much satisfaction.

Main course decisions didn't get any easier than the starters. I was torn between the Pork Chop with Savoy Cabbage, Chorizo & Kentish Apple Sauce and the Venison Haunch Steak. Opting for the latter and pairing it with a side of Truffled Potato Dauphinoise, it was immediately obvious that I was on fire with the decision making this evening. The Venison was tender and served pink on a bed of Parsnip Purée with Parsnip Crisps on top and lashings of the most incredible Red Wine & Pomegranate Sauce. It really was an exquisite dish that I didn't want to come to an end.

Stu's Sirloin Steak was served medium rare with a delicious charred crust created by their ingenious barbecue oven. Not one for smothering his steak in sauce, Stuart took the chef's advice and topped it with shavings of Belper Knolle, a wonderful Swiss matured hard cheese flavoured with fine black pepper, Himalayan salt and a hint of garlic. He added a side of thick cut chips and like me, was blown away with the flavour.

Now the pudding round was the one thing I thought I had my mind made up on before entering JFP for the evening. However, after tweeting my plans for the evening, I was soon back to square one when Andrew of the @MotelySpicer proclaimed that I just had to try Anna's Triple Chocolate Brownie. Now my heart had been set on the Olive Oil Chocolate Mousse, so we ordered both and decided to share.

Anna was our host for the evening and is one of the founders of JFP and it is actually her own recipe used to create the brownies with a slight tweak made by the head chef. Andrew was spot on though, the Brownie had followed in the footsteps of the two courses before and offered up delicious and indulgent flavour pairings with Vanilla Ice Cream and Salted Caramel Sauce to accompany it.

However, I am also glad I stuck to my guns and ordered the Olive Oil Chocolate Mousse. It looked incredible when it arrived with Crushed Chocolate Cookies, Shards Of Honeycomb, Raspberry Syrup & Fresh Raspberries to finish. This was extremely rich, which is exactly what I look for in a chocolate dessert. Each ingredient brought a different texture and flavour to the dish and combined to make one cracking pud!

The food was faultless and delivered so much flavour, which is why it has cemented itself as one of my favourites on the East side of town. The prices were definitely a little high for a standard meal, when I return it will be more for a special occasion but believe me when I say that the food definitely lives up to the pice tag. I am still thinking about those stuffed dates even now! If you are a lover of fine food then you need to head to The Jones Family Project soon as this is one new opening that is not to be missed!

Enjoy!

Good atmosphere, steak was cooked very adequately. The wine however was absolutely top notch (a Californian vintage surprisingly but amazing). I would recommend, the service was nice and warm. A slightly better value considering the quality would make this 5 stars.

Excellent service and food. Definitely recommend the sourdough bread for a starter. Staff were friendly, attentive and provided cards for the birthday people. If I returned I would have the steak as that looked amazing. It is expensive but you receive very high quality food.

One of the best places to have a Sunday roast in London- great location, cosy atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff and incredibly tasty food! If you are going on a Sunday, it would be best to book in advance as it is a popular place and it gets very busy. The menu also includes a wide variety of other meat dishes and desserts (if you don't want to go on a Sunday or if you want something else).

My favourite secret place for a Sunday Roast in London. Perfectly cooked beef in the Josper grill with all the trimmings including vegetables and a delicious Yorkshire pudding. All the meat is supplied by the Ginger Pig butchers and the beef is from rare breed Longhorn cattle raised in Yorkshire and dry aged for a minimum of 28 days. Fantastic value at £9.95 for one course, £14.50 for two or £17.50 for three. You can also get different cuts of beef, lamb, chicken or a slow cooked oxtail burger cooked in the Josper charcoal oven. Restaurant is downstairs but you can also eat in the bar on the ground floor where they also have pop ups and great cocktails.

We booked for Thanksgiving dinner here as it was a feature of their restaurant and we were here on Holiday during Thanksgiving. Booking was easy, but required a 20 pound deposit that had to be made via filling out a PDF and emailing back. It was in a cool part of the city and the decoration was irreverent, but not overstated and had a lovely family atmosphere. Waitresses were more than nice, albeit a little spread thin. O can't speak the the typical food, but the Thanksgiving menu was very much aligned with the traditional American meal. It's hard to know if it was my American tastebuds or not, but the meal seemed to be a little heavy handed in seasoning. The gravy instead of being rich and comforting was a little vinegary. The turkey was well cooked without being overcooked (still tender/juicy). Cranberry sauce was DELIGHTFUL, and the veg was average. The dessert missed the mark as the pecan pie was over-baked, but came with a little American flag, so points for style. The squash soup was my favorite with strong garlic overtones and a truffle oil finish. Can't speak to the drinks as I am unable to drink alcohol for now. Would love the opportunity to try the regular menu, and would come back just for the atmosphere.

Tender chateaubriand steak. A bit undercooked (Ordered Medium-rare but it was actually more like rare) but still delicious! Twice cooked chips and English salads on sides are the perfect match with steak. Starters were not as good as steak. Smoked mackerel (starter) was juicy, soft but a bit too salty. Steak tartare had some Asian chilli sauce in, which was quite weird. Very stylish, good atmosphere for couples or friends.

I can’t rate this place highly enough! The location is superb, I was able to make requirements about my seating arrangements for my anxiety discreetly with zero problems, and the food is well worth the price, I couldn’t even finish it. The wine list was so varied and absolutely delicious, just perfect. It was also my birthday and the staff lovingly gave me a signed card! We were well tended to and the staff are so aware of how to look after people. This place is definitely going to be a regular for me. Thank you SO much!

Lovely evening! The minute we arrived we know it would be a Fun evening. Like most place in the area the decor is young and fun. Here no different. There is a bar upstairs and lovely seating areas downstairs. The booth we were seated was very comfy and cosy. Our waiting staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! Attentive at all times and full of good suggestions from cocktails, wine and the food! The star here is STEAK... Each one of ours were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The starters and desert menu is quite different which made the experience very interesting. We loved all the pairing suggestion with our deserts! Great evening at a reasonable price!

Steak was unreal at Jones family project but the bits around the side were just a bit of a let down. We went for an 800g porterhouse which was fantastically well cooked and extremely tasty and couldn't pick a fault with it. The service was equally great and we were well looked after. My main fault is with the rest of the menu the starters to me don't really fit with the meat focussed main courses. The sides that we had were a little bit of a let down and a tiny bit under seasoned (the masb and chips needed a generous amount of salt and the wilted spinach was just plain bland). Desserts were just a little overcomplicated to me as well and they could be a bit simpler.

Was really impressed with this place. On entering we were taken downstairs which has a more moody/romantic vibe. The service was very attentive and the food was really delicious - the chicken mains being a highlight. Would definitely come back!

We had a very nice meal here. The atmosphere is lovely, and the Gin Mare cocktail is a bit different and delicious. The steak was very well cooked as were the chips and potatoes

I love this place; great quality food and a relaxed funky environment to dine with friends. Very coeliac friendly; I was given a gluten free menu with plenty of choices. I had the crab for my starter which had plenty of flavour and a nice bit of heat. My main was the Salmon which was cooked perfectly and a generous portion. I polished it off with a tasty rice pudding which came with super fresh berries and decadent ice cream. I wish the restaurants in my hometown of Amsterdam would catch up with London and offer such a worry free, option loaded dining experience for coeliacs. My friend had the hamburger and all I can say was I was jealous! Love this place. Great venue. Great food. Great staff.

This was a very unexpected discovery and one that will definitely keep happening. Had a small issue with a website booking at another restaurant and the owner got us a table at Jones'. Well, I have to say I was delighted with it! First of all the staff is absolutely lovely. The venue is nice, decor is beautiful and carefully chosen. The food ia delish! I had the truffle tartar (maybe a bit too spicy for me but I'm sensitive since I've been quitting spice hah) and the absolute best brownie ever. Others in my party had steaks and fish dishes that looked amazing. As I said: deffo going back!

I have visited the place accompanied with my better half on Friday's evening. No reservation was needed, staff was super nice and friendly, and the dinner, the dinner was amazing. I did go for a burger, what a treat.
