Bleeding Heart Tavern, a place that is busy for a hearty breakfast, pumping for a no nonsense lunch and heaving for quick after work drinkers. It's a proper tavern with no trendy bits added like music etc, just the sound of the crowd chatting and laughing. A full English is the way to go with far too much food on the plate. For lunch, the pies are a must and for drinks, a good selection of gin is washed down well with tonic. Get in early as it gets busy of an evening.

Well known to The City of London’s bankers, tucked away near Farringdon Station is the Bleeding Heart Tavern; a local favourite serving good French food.  Though if you are looking for a more elegant dining experience, there is the Bleeding Heart Bistrot, which spreads-out onto the sunny courtyard in the summer...

The Bleeding Heart Tavern is situated right behind the bustling Leather Lane market in Farringdon. Walking through the market just before lunch, passed the variety of delicious smelling food stalls, will definitely leave you craving a hearty meal and The Bleeding Heart did not disappoint.

The tavern has an authentic Gallic atmosphere but the decor is not overdone, with simple wooden chairs and tables and a mirrored bar. I came in a party of three and we decided to share two starters; a goats cheese salad and jambon de Bayonne. Unfortunately the salad arrived missing one of its key ingredients, pear, but when we informed the staff they immediately brought another.

For main courses we were inspired by the chilly weather and ordered a fish pie, a steak and ale pie and a salt beef sandwich. The portions sizes were generous but not too much and all three of us were very happy with our choices. The main courses reflected the French feel of the tavern and left everyone very satisfied.

The Bleeding Heart Bistro, is situated in the Bleeding Heart Yard just off Greville St in the heart of the City of London. It is a French style bistro with pavement cafe seating. There is no traffic in the yard and the enclosed space is free from traffic. We sat outside and it really felt like we were somewhere in France. The tables, the canopy over the tables; along with the red and white theme, really set the scene for a French dining experience. The service was excellent, efficient, friendly, and we never felt rushed or hurried. Would I go again, yes I would, it was a lovely place to eat and we had a fantastic meal.

the food and service was 10/10 Loved every bite of it 😍 Maybe think about the design (the lack of it) of the inside garden / balcony? Did not match the outstanding food :)

Stunning food. From the beginning we received the most attentive service. Patient and carry, the entire team phased in our paced. Food wise, we loved it all. Starters, mains, cheese (these folks understand cheese!) and dessert, everything was of exquisite quality. We're a bunch of folks who love wine. The Bleeding Heart is just all about the same Philosophy. Top end food, quality service and cracking wine.

Great staff and attention to detail. The food was cooked really well and the staff were attentive and didn't leave us waiting. The poussin was well cooked but a bit lacking in depth of flavour, the aioli did save it however. The sea bass was cooked well and the skin seasoned well and crispy. We would definitely come back for another try at the a la carte menu.

Friendly, helpful and attentive staff - and delicious, well-presented food. We ate al fresco, in the secluded mews in front of the entrance. It was a haven of calm in the midst of the bustle of London and that added to the dining experience. It was a real treat - all the more so because, at those prices, it's not something to do every day.

Lovely little courtyard for alfresco dining tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Chancery Lane. Good value set menu lunch, with classic bistro fare. The roasted aubergine with wild mushrooms was a nice twist, though. Excellent service. The one thing that could be better is the bread, but that's a minor point, and the salted butter was very good.

Absolutely fantastic classic French Bistro in the heart of Hatton Garden - beautiful outdoor (covered) dining area in a quaint cobbled courtyard with the friendliest service and delicious food. We came here for our annual boys' school reunion dinner and we loved it. Highly recommended

Really great place but the quality of the food went down by a lot in my opinion. They did offer the dryed out over cooked fish for free and pointing it out to them.

Bleeding Heart Bistro is a good restaurant. The food was good quality. I enjoyed the seared tuna entrée. The grilled Lobster was OK. The pineapple tatin was the best dish I had. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Traditional French bistro with woody and red decor. Couple of mins walk from Farringdon station and 6 mins walk from Chancery Lane. Staff very warm, polite and friendly. Good social distancing and safety measures. Although I would recommend checking temperatures before entry. Food was good. Could have been served hotter but I noticed the kitchen was an annex outside the restaurant. Good selections of wine, well lit and a generally lovely ambience.
