High tea is quintessentially British so where better to go but the old school classic Savoy. Beautiful decor, excellent service, we had the high tea which consisted of a glass of champagne (extra), an assortment of fine sandwiches, a middle course of asparagus with soft poached egg topped with hollandaise sauce and shaved truffle, and a finale of scones and chocolate cake. The lemon curd for the scones was next level, I could have licked the container! The experience was not cheap, but memorable. A must do when in London

Make sure not to miss their delicious scones.the service was amazing. The waiter attended to our requests. They kept the tea coming and they made us a pot of ginger tea as we asked for it. Try their specialty tea, it's a good one. I like the live music and the vibe it brings with it to this lovely tea room.

It was the usual with J. He kind of puffed at the idea of afternoon tea. His outlook was a bit negative, but I was confident. I remembered how much we both enjoyed our first afternoon tea experience, and knew he would be in his element once again when we had settled in to the Savoy. Our savoy afternoon tea experience took place on a weekday. We were

I used to walk past the Savoy every single day. It's appearance and British grandeur are not lost on anyone. Ultimately, I was lucky to have had breakfast here on a few occasions. I must say that the Savoy service is truly truly peerless. The attention to detail is impeccable. The food was outstanding too. Overall a fabulous experience.

We recently had the opportunity to venture to London’s The Savoy Hotel. Like the Ritz, it’s held in lofty spheres and is one of those places where ‘the other half live’. To understand where I’m coming from – first a little bit of history. Tucked away off the Strand, close to Covent Garden, the hotel has long been an after-show hang-out for actors appearing at nearby theatres and the Royal Opera House. As the first true luxury hotel in London, first to be lit by electricity, The Savoy was also the first to feature electric lifts.

The Savoy. London’s most famous 5-star hotel stands magnificently on The Strand. Tucked in from it’s neighbouring buildings and the bustling Strand, a perfectly paved road leads to the massive sign proudly declaring in thin, bold letters: Savoy.

Ever since The Savoy’s closure and my move to London, I have been waiting for my Afternoon Tea at the hotel. Michelle, my London-partner-in-crime, and I headed to The Savoy to finally indulge in this long overdue tea party.

The Thames Foyer is located at the heart of the hotel. With a massive, glass cupola located overhead, the lavish tea room is flooded with natural light. A gazebo houses a grand piano where the pianist plays classical music for the entertainment of dining guests. Everything in the room emits elegance and luxury, and it really is a perfect, classically beautiful location for a quintessentially British Afternoon Tea.

We were seated in the perfect location. Our backs were to the wall, and we had the perfect view of not only the entire room itself, but anyone entering the foyer. We selected our tea, had a particularly awkward photo taken, then set about commenting on the potential life stories of surrounding guests and of course, the outfits they were wearing.

Our tea stand arrived and I was pleasantly surprised by the sandwich selection. They had innovative fillings and were each served on a different type of bread. The scones were freshly baked and still warm, served with an in-house made Strawberry Jam. After finishing our tower of treats, our waitress arrived with a tray lined with gorgeous desserts. I would expect nothing less from The Savoy, but each dessert was truly beautiful, individual, and delicious.

We requested a long intermission and sat sipping our tea whilst digesting our delicate feast. About an hour later, our waitress appeared with a trolley table side. On her trolley were three large bricks of English Fruit Cake, Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Icing, and Banana Cake. I thought I may burst if I ate one more bite, but Michelle insisted we try a bite. We shared the Banana and Carrot Cake, and of course, they were amazing.

I love the pop of the orchids paired with the turquoise sculpture. It’s an incredibly vibrant, modern centrepiece contrasting with the black and white, Edwardian surroundings.

I have a habit of sampling each sandwich, then eating them in order, saving the best for last. Strange, I know.
Clockwise: Mango chutney and cheddar, courgette and hummus, smoked salmon and cream cheese, cucumber with cream cheese, ham with apple honey mustard, chicken with mango butter, egg and cress, another chicken with mango butter, tomato with pesto and rocket.

After finishing our several hour long Tea, we decided to wander the hotel seeing what £220m of refurbishment looked like. We took a peak at the gym and pool, investigated hallways, and checked out the hotel’s other restaurants.

At last, I have enjoyed Afternoon Tea at the famous Savoy hotel. If you’d like to indulge at The Savoy, be sure to make reservations several weeks in advance.

I was treated to a beautiful afternoon tea for my birthday today. I had such a lovely time. The sandwiches and the cakes were so beautifully prepared and tasted amazing too. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable upon our arrival. I would like to give a big thank you to Carina, who was attending to our table. She always had a beautiful smile on her face, was very knowledgeable and we loved all her recommendations.

I went here for a special occasion with my friends. They surprised us by serving a special birthday cake for her.The interior was incredibly beautiful, and the pianist played a birthday celebration song, which was very touching. The sandwiches are really great. I'm not sure how many times you can ask for a refill, but they refilled the sandwiches upon request. I had a lot of leftover dessert, so I took it away, but the dessert didn't taste very good to be honest.

Reservation required (booked 1+ month in advance). had an absolutely once in a lifetime high tea experience at the gorgeous Savoy Hotel. My partner got the non-vegan and I got the vegan version. Everything was perfection, top knotch quality, and a live pianist played while we enjoyed our food!

With a schedule that only allowed for one afternoon tea experience, we made the calculated decision to reserve at Thames Foyer and it did not disappoint! Impeccable service and perfect presentation transcends expectations. The champagne was properly chilled, the tea was properly steeped, and the attentive and congenial staff were a joy. One person in our party was gluten free and they went above and beyond to accommodate. We will definitely make a point to return on our next London excursion.

Savoy; a name that resonates and harks back to roaring 20s. It exudes elegance, charm and perfection. I booked a high tea for my wife and I to celebrate our return to London post pandemic. This place is elegantly decked out in a retro kind of feel. The pianist in the gazebo played very well and the music is soothing. But nothing beats the food and excellent customer service. The server was ever ready to serve and help. The food is superb and delicious. My only problem with Savoy is that it is too perfect but alas maybe it does exist. I will definitely make a repeat visit again when I am in London.

A luxury experience that made my mums 60th birthday feel special. We watched the savoy on TV and my mum has wanted to go ever since. The whole atmosphere and service was spectacular. The pianist even played happy birthday when the waiters came out with little cakes for the special occasions which was a lovely touch. Lots of option for vegetarians and vegans too. I wish I could buy the champagne flute there is definitely a gap in the market there!

Tea at the Savoy was the highlight of a 10 day trip in England. Not only was the food top notch (unlimited sandwiches and tea choices too!) but the service was par none. Despite the expense I would go back in a heartbeat. My favorite tea was the Darjeeling first flush and the vegetarian jackfruit sandwich my favorite food. We also tried the sparkling tea instead of champagne (we're non-drinkers) and it was very nice. The ambience is just right.

Afternoon Tea had been an item on our bucket list for quite some time so we had high expectations. So we dressed up and headed to The Savoy to celebrate it. We’ve been welcomed warmly and after our wardrobe was taken care of, we were seated in the Thames Foyer. A pianist was playing and it was a pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter Timothy was very friendly and accommodating. We’ve chosen from a extensive selection of teas and opted for traditional Afternoon Tea as well as a glass of Champagne. The first course was sandwiches. There were six different types and all looked great and tasted delicious. After we’d finished, the scones and pastries were brought over. Every single one was a little piece of art and tasted exquisite. It was really a special experience and our expectations were exceeded by far. It was definitely worth it! Strongly recommend!

Exceptional service by our waitress Antonia from Essex. Malcolm the Manager dropped by a couple of times to chat and checked ion everything. Amazing surprise when I was presented with a lovely handwritten card. Welcoming me to London with a little cake on plate. Truly a great afternoon delight sharing this memorable experience with my good friends of 50 year. Sofia the Pianist dressed beautifully and played tingling tunes. Hope to return again.

It’s safe to say, they know what they’re doing — everything from the food to the service was excellent. I’ve only had afternoon tea a few times, but from my limited experience thus far — this trumps them all. Further, surprisingly — finger sandwiches and entrées are more than adequate to fill you up, which can’t be said about other places. I’ll certainly be back.

A very classy affair for my mum's birthday. The decor and vibe was perfect and the live pianist in the birdcage really set it off. The goats cheese sandwich on mint bread was a revelation. Chocolate mousse finger & homemade lemon curd on the scones were the stand outs on the cake stand. But all delicious. Only thing that was average was the egg mayo sandwich.

We spent an elegant, relaxing afternoon. We took our son there as part of a 21st birthday. The atmosphere was relaxing and we were made to feel special by our lovely server. The food was excellent. They refilled our tea and we tried several different teas. I would recommend this experience to all. We had a wonderful afternoon chatting and listening to live music. The server delivered a birthday cake while the pianist played happy birthday. We enjoyed the entire experience.
