Absolutely exquisite! Authentic Italian food and delicious wine selection. The ambience is peaceful and elegantly casual - great for a dinner date or get together with friends. The service was efficient and we did not wait long for our food at all. The only problem is that everything sounds so good you won’t know what to choose! Definitely will be back soon to try some other delicious dishes.

We come here often and this time, they deserve the excellent review. The restaurant interior enables people to have private discussions which is very helpful when coming for a lunch with a client. Food is outstanding, freshly made pasta, freshly baked bread, desserts truly Italian taste. We had an not to easy get in London, bottle of excellent wine, my Italian client was impressed. Friendly stuff, good prices, one of my favourite lunch/ dinner restaurants in that corner! The owner was in the place when we were there which is a good sin, also you could here Italian language all around, it must be popular among Italian community. We will be back again and again!

The newly opened (second) store nestled in the leafy, relaxed area of Fitzrovia, La Tagliata is an Italian restaurant that certainly didn’t disappoint! We left with a hearty, content filling in our stomachs, a beautiful mellow array of flavours to remember and fondly reminiscing our Italian summer holiday of 2017. With lovely house wines, incredibly fresh ingredients and clearly a lot of patience in preparing and perfecting the taste of each dish, La Tagliata is a restaurant that I wouldn’t hesitate returning to! Special shout out to the entrees which definitely surprised me in terms of the variety and superb combination of flavour.

Little restaurant hidden near Liverpool Station, with nice decoration and small private rooms which make you feel set apart from the rest of the restaurant.

We decided to try the summer menu, which gives you two or three choices of starter, main dish and dessert, for a fixed price of 22 pounds.

I took a mozzarella di bufala with ham, tagliatelle gamberi e zucchine and an affogato al caffè.

All was perfect, the waiters were very kind and the service was fast. The ingredients used were very fresh.

I would definitely go again.

It’s always fun to be invited along to tasting events.  And, since I visited La Tagliata when it first opened a couple of years ago and really loved their simple but perfectly presented offering, I was very keen to go back and find out more.  The idea was to taste and pick our favourite dish for the summer menu, while trying some of the starters and desserts on offer.

It's starting to get to that time of year where I want to eat ALL the pasta and ALL the cheese for dinner and I think I've found just the perfect place to do that. Let me introduce you to La Tagliata. It's a little Italian restaurant hidden down the cute cobbled streets of East London, sandwiched between Liverpool Street Station and Spitalfields market.

Italy at its best! It is not a first time I go there ( working in the office next door). Stunning food, beautiful and cosy interior, the owner was in the place when we had our lunch. The place is well taken care of. We had tuna tartare, handmade pasta and la tagliata sirlon steak, which was delicious. You could hear Italian language all around, which is always a good sign when eating in Italian restaurant. The menu is 100% Italian, and the bread is daily baked! Being a foody, I know you can't get that luxury in many restaurants with that price range!

This place is amazing. Full stop.

Starting from the service, decoration, ambiance. Food is excellent; I love their pastas, my favourite is Ragu ( which is similar to bolognese) and the steak is amazing. We had a really nice wine here.

Thanks to a design of restaurant ( 5 separate rooms) It is not noisy which is very convenient for business lunches, meetings, team lunches - we had been given a one room for ourselves without extra charge. The pantry room ( with a glass roof) or wine room are my favourite!

The pana cotta and tiramisu are devine!

This is by far best Italian restaurant in that noisy area.

Classic Italian cookery to keep you coming back for more is the drawn of Spitalfields restaurant, La Tagliata. Amid a tangle of Spitalfield lanes being filled rapidly with fancy restaurants and upscale boutiques, is La Tagliata. It’s a classy but comfy sort of place – intimate and attractive (especially if you like artist Modigliani) with seating areas divided into little rooms. Prices are more than reasonable than most nearby options, and the food is terrific.

I seem to be eating out in Italian restaurants more than any other these days. Whether it's just my cravings drawn towards this hearty cuisine, or simply because there are so many Italian restaurants in London right now - I'm not entirely sure. Either way, there is never such thing as too much Italian food. On a bitter cold mid Wednesday I managed to find myself in the Liverpool Street area at La Tagliata - the areas newest Italian opening. Serving only three dishes (almost), in three courses I had big exceptions. With a focus on very few things (much like Le Relais de Venise do so well) things needed to be perfect - otherwise what reason would you have to come back over the extensive Italian offerings that may be locally?

One thing I will say about La Tagliata is that the staff here all seem very passionate about what they do and that passion certainly rubbed off during our dinner. The wine list here is fabulous and filled with some gorgeous Italian gems from producers which you probably haven't heard of, but certainly worth seeking out. From the incredibly short, refined food menu we dived straight in with the pasta. All the pasta is home-made and fresh, but oddly - something just wasn't quite right. The pasta was all stuck together much more than it should have, creating small tower like chunks, instead of light separated strands. The pomodoro sauce on the other hand was gorgeous. A real depth of flavour and not an ounce of tartness left in the sauce - they must have been cooking this for hours to get such a concentration and balance.

Another pasta dish this time lacked heat and the slightly stodgy, clumped together strands of pasta still continued. For a restaurant which has a very limited menu this should have been near perfect. It was the first time I've eaten something quite like this creamy limone sauce before - and now I've fallen in love with it. Since delving into to the delightfully rich, yet zesty sauce - I seem to be seeing it on just about every Italian restaurant menu I look at. Perhaps my carnivorous eye has simply been overlooking it all this time. Despite such a delicious sauce it still couldn't mask some of the school boy errors we were coming across in these pasta dishes.

If you hadn't already guessed it, La Tagliata is named after its signature dish they serve here. Chunky slices of British sirloin steak, served on a bed of rocket, parmesan, cherry tomatoes and balsamic reduction. There's a good reason why this dish is their signature offering, and that's because they've managed to perfect this simple Italian fare and turn it into a showcase of flavours and ingredients. The steak was a lovely piece of meat, with a nice crust and cooked perfectly in the centre. The rocket could have perhaps been a little more peppery but its subtlety was actually rather attractive. With the Tagliata you can chose between the option of either roast potatoes, or the stunning family recipe of shepherds potatoes. A magnificent bowl of creamy mash which has a meaty stock mixed into it. Perhaps La Tagliata will let me in on this family recipe?

The main problem for me about La Tagliata is that it feels too much of a lunch venue, in the evening. It's just not indulgent or decadent enough. I never thought to see a baked scarmoza on the menu for a main, but here it was. Mature mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, sun dried tomato and truffle paste. It certainly wasn't a bad dish, but this version felt so much like something you'd expect to be eating as a quick snack - at lunch. Scarmoza should arrive hot, preferably in a cast iron pot and so soft and gooey on the inside that it's almost impossible to eat. La Tagliata played this dish much too safe. The side of roast potatoes were good but had nothing on the shepherds potatoes we had with that juicy steak.

Before delving into our tiramisu we also managed a cheese course of three Italian cheeses. All of which had nearly the same texture and were surprisingly lacking in flavour - even the stinky blue. The tiramisu in some bites was very good, but in others it was on the watery side and oddly seemed to be sinking in the cup, on to itself. It satisfied the sweet tooth urge but sadly we struggled to get overly excited about it. The food here at La Tagliata was a very simple Italian affair. At £29 for three courses it doesn't even have a competitive edge, which for price conscious Londoners may seem a bit of a downer. For lunch I could perhaps see the point of La Tagliata but otherwise I don't see what this restaurant can offer (apart from a lack of choice) than most other Italian restaurants in London.

I recently dined at La Tagliata, and it was an outstanding experience. This Italian restaurant beautifully combines modern and elegant decor with a personal touch that makes you feel right at home. The ambiance is simply amazing. The highlight, of course, was the food. It exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price. The flavors were authentic, and the quality was top-notch. From the pasta to the tiramisu, every dish was a delight for the taste buds. The service was equally impressive. The waitstaff were warm and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. They were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, which added to the overall experience. In summary, La Tagliata is a hidden gem in the world of Italian dining. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a delightful meal in an elegant yet cozy setting.

A catch up with good friends. A wonderful restaurant. The layout is great with various areas meaning you aren't in a large dining room. Makes it cosier for chat without feeling as though people are listening. The staff were great. Professional, knowledgeable and didn't rush us to order. The food was ALL excellent although we couldn't decide whether the steak, lamb or swordfish was best! It's a bit on the pricier side but the quality of food and wine was top notch. Loved it. Thank you.

A cute out of the way little restaurant, love the little nooks to make it feel more intimate. You feel transported away from the hustle and bustle of Liverpool St. Portions were slightly small but so good and full of flavour. The staff were friendly and personable. Great find, definitely recommend.

Lovely small Italian restaurant tucked in the small streets of Liverpool Street. There’s a great selection of starters and pastas, I had the truffle cream and prosciutto bruschetta which was rich but not overpowering at the same time! The seafood pasta was delicious - the lobster bisque soup was amazing! The tiramisu was also amazing - it had good amounts of coffee taste to it!

Lovely cosy and intimate spot. Friendly and attentive waiter. Food was delicious, service was of a high standard and the atmosphere was nice. Delicious prawns starter. One of the best healthy salads I have had. The mix of artichokes and citrus was an absolute win.

Once I entered the restaurant, it felt like I left all the noise and troubles outside as the atmosphere makes you feel at home. All I wanted was a plate of carbonara in front of me and a glass of white wine. But the waiter recommended zuppa di mare. It's divine... if I could eat that bisque with fresh bread for the rest of my life I'll be a happy man. Definitely a place to return and the carbonara will have to wait!

We recently visited "La Tagliata" for a bithday dinner party for my wife and her guests (7 people) and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly by the friendly hostess. As we perused the menu, we sipped on some delicious cocktails and indulged in the complimentary bread basket with a variety of dips and appetizers which where full off flavours. For our main courses, we ordered the classic Spaghetti Carbonara while I opted for the Seafood Linguine and the guests had Ribseye steaks, Sword fish dish and some salads. All dishes were cooked to perfection and the portions were just right, leaving us feeling satisfied but not too full. To top it off, we shared a slice of Tiramisu which was rich and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and cozy, creating a perfect atmosphere for a romantic date night or a family dinner or a cosy birthday party. Overall, we had an exceptional dining experience at "La Tagliata" and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Italian cuisine and excellent service.

Highly recommended La Tagliata in London is an amazing restaurant where the food is like a beautiful painting on a plate. The chef there is like an artist, creating dishes that not only taste delicious but also look stunning. The chef pays a lot of attention to the details in every dish. They use really fresh and good ingredients, which makes the food taste even better. When you go to La Tagliata, it's not just about eating; it's like going on a tasty adventure. The chef's food is like art, and it's a special experience you won't forget. If you're in London and want an extraordinary meal, you should definitely try La Tagliata.

Slow service to start and they took orders from a few other tables who arrived later before us. Food was excellent - fresh, delicious and deceptively filling. Pre-booking essential on busy occasions like Valentine’s Day. We were seated at the front by the window and it was definitely on the cold side, with a hint of damp smell, so I’d love to see some heaters installed for winter. If I was to visit again I’d simply ask to be sat away from the window in the winter.

Beautiful, small cozy restaurant with a home-like atmosphere. Bruschetta with creamy cheese with a truffle, with a rocket and prosciutto was a very good start, together with a glass of Montepulciano. Smaller portion of fish soup in the lobster bisque as a starter (you can have the big portion as a main course too) was very good, spicy and rich in taste, full of mussels and shrimps, however I would welcome a bit more fish in it and less shrimps and mussels and a bit thinner texture, not that thick, but overall very good. Main course chosen from daily truffle specials was pasta with mushrooms, shrimps and truffle. All done well but I am afraid this combination of tastes does not work together that well and simpler version just tagliatelle, porcini and truffle would work much better, but I know some like the combination of mashrooms with shrimps. Coffee with Tiramisu was a good end. I will come back!
