We managed to get a table without reservation. The waitress that was taking care of us was an absolute doll. She was so friendly and was so attentive! We started off with a French onion soup which was beautiful. I had the pheasant which I have never had before and it was surprisingly quite nice. I found it a tad dry but the flavours were there! My partner had the rump of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed this place!

We’ve been on a bit of a doggy loving trip ever since we discovered Outsider Tart. So last weekend we decided to do some more exploration, and chanced upon Maggie Jones, in Kensington. Tucked away, just off the high street, it’s very easy to miss. But it’s been around for over 40 years I hear, so all the locals probably already know about it!

I think this place is characteristic and unique. During our London trip we went around this lovely restaurant in a couple of time (it was next to our hotel) and I was attracted by this place, so we entered and made a reservetion for the evening. I was not disappointed! We had a nice dinner upstair, surrended by bunch of lavender and a cozy and romantic atmosphere, shabby chic before shabby chic was cool. Nice staff, very friendly, menu full of dishes and a lot of choice for wine. If you certanly have a romantic soul go there!

It's a Family run restaurant. Waiters are very courteous. It's always better to make reservations as this place gets preety crowded on weekends. Famous for traditional Sunday brunch. Their duck liver pate is to die for. Very smooth texture with sublime taste of the liver just melts in your mouth. The roast pork is served with Apple sauce and some boiled vegetables. The soft Pork goes so well with the apple sauce . It's a must visit if you are in London.

Very good food. Dinner on a monday night. No wait but only a few tables available. We were very happy with our mains. My partridge was very enjoyable. The wife's liver and onions was very well prepared.

...the main dish we ordered, a sumptuous quarter roast chicken with carrots, cabbage, herb stuffing and a delicious gravy sauce that I poured over everything, was more than enough for lunch. And the food is fantastic – we loved it so much that when we got home that evening, we were

A traditional British restaurant that’s been hidden in Kensington for over 40 years.  The restaurant lacks light to create that cosy atmosphere, in fact it looks identical day and night unless you sit by the window. The tables are so compact that it required a few pushes before settling down comfortably in the confined booth space. We sat so close together it was like school girls gossiping on a field trip. I’m guessing it’d also be perfect for a da

Maggie Jones’s has not changed a bit over the years and really has no need to change. Pre-dinner drinks and wine were fine and the service throughout was friendly and efficient. It is somewhere I would always look to go for a ‘comfort’ meal – you know what I mean…

Definitely a must  whenever you are London. Great traditional british food indeed!

It is a small place so make sure you make reservations. The place is nice and cozy and makes you want to drink hot chocolate.

Check out the specials board before you order because they always have some new exciting dishes.

I recommend the duck liver pate from the menu. On the Specials that night, they had the venison terrine and the stilton and bacon salad that were delicious!  For the mains, I ordered the fish pie and it was creamy, flavourful, with a nice crusty pastry. My friends ordered the rack of lamb, the rump of lamb and the stuffed pork. The rack of lamb was delicious! And finally for dessert, I recommend the chocolate pot and the bread and butter pudding.

Said to be one of Prince Charles favourite restaurants this is not just great dining it is an experience beyond compare.

Fantastic service, ambience, and food. The food itself is good, but it's really everything else that puts the experience over the top! It's a little pricey, but specially compared to other pubs, but in my opinion, completely worth it! I had: - Stilton mousse: fantastic! - Sausage and mash: good. The onion gravy had fantastic depth - Chocolate pot: dense, but silky

I made this last minute booking through email and got the confirmation within minutes so that was a good start! Very responsive even over emails. The place is unpretentious but you get more than you would expect! I chose this place for a catch-up with my friends whom I haven’t seen for 10+ years! We were led downstairs which was a surprise at first but it was the perfect place and my friends really liked it too — what with it’s rustic charm and English food. The food was fantastic (we even had a vegetable dish on the house, thanks!). Service was superb and very patient with us when we delayed our order because one of my friends was running late. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely come here again with my family next!

I can not say enough positive things about our dining experience at Maggie Jones. Our last night in London, we searched for a restaurant that had a British menu and beautiful atmosphere. We couldn't have picked a better place to cap off our week long stay! The staff were so accommodating and interactive, especially with our children. Thomas, our waiter, was especially personable and kind. He went out of his way to make our children (aged 8 and 4) feel welcome in a sophisticated atmosphere. The food was delicious. Best meals we've all had in a long time. Everything from the bread, the main course, to the dessert was exceptional. My picky children who only eat cheese pizza and chicken nuggets, ate all the chicken breast and chips that were prepared just for them. The decor and ambiance were warm and comforting. If I ever come back to London, I'll be sure to visit Maggie Jones again!

Excellent, cozy establishment with a hint of history. Loved the rustic interiors and the kind of food that will have you sleeping like a baby afterward. The leek tart + pork I had was truly excellent. I also tried the stilton mousse which was fab. Highly recommend making a reservation (easy to do on their website!!) I went in the summer, would love to come back in cooler weather and try more things (pudding menu was expanse!! Must try all)!!

Very beautiful rustic-feel interiors with real history behind each furniture and decor piece described by the staff. Food was delicious, especially the duck liver pate with the crispy toast, and service was awesome!

Maggie Jones was certainly a superb find while walking through the area. In the mood for some traditional English fare, this restaurant really hit the spot. From the decor to the ambiance, it felt very rustic and cozy. Although we didn't have reservations, the staff were quick to oblige. Our waiter, forgive me for not recalling his name, was very friendly and helpful. He guided us through the menu with suggestions and descriptions of food that were easy to understand and provided us with an informed decision. My friend got Lamb while I got the pork belly. As an affinity toward pork, I really enjoyed my meal. I could have had seconds of my dish had I not been full.

Fantastic! The cozy and inviting atmosphere, the delicious food (the best I ate in London all week), and the wonderful interactions I had with the staff were excellent. I had the nutloaf roast with a side of three veggies that came with a delicious gravy, the best cheese and leek tart I've ever had, and a pot of chocolate that was scrumptious. I will definitely come back when I next go to London.

Absolutely amazing! Can't really think of a single negative aspect of our visit to Maggie Jone's. The place is beautifully decorated, which kind of takes you back in time. It was also interesting and fun to eat at a restaurant that is almost entirely lit by candles. Our waiter Louie was an absolute gentleman, very courteous and helpful with recommendations. Last but not least, the food was probably one of the best we've had during our stay in London. My partner and I went for the 3 course menu, which was so plentiful that we ended up sharing one dessert.

Amazing food and great service! We walked in on a Saturday evening in the hope that we might be lucky to get a table later. The staff was so accommodating. They helped us get a table right away and promptly set up everything. The food was so good, definitely on par with gastropub style but because of the decor it's "country/pirate style" kind of atmosphere here. They make really good roast pork belly and steak pie. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner here. The staff really made a difference. They also helped us understand how the service charge is distributed to the staff as well. Pricing was ok for the amount and quality of food you get. We can definitely recommend!
