I love coming here for the luxurious yet relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The lunch menu is always great value and the food is clean and quite delicious.

I had a main steak tartare, which is always seasoned well and the texture is amazing with a side of chips, and for dessert a rum baba. The pear sorbet that came with it was absolutely amazing. My sister had the cod and pistachio, which both looked superb.

All washed down with a glass of champagne, it is perfect for a leisurely lunch and treat!

The Corinthia Hotel is pretty impressive. It sits, like a grand old Dowager Duchess wearing her sumptuous finery and jewels, on a corner plot between the Thames Embankment and Whitehall, the street that is synonymous with the Government of the United Kingdom. An excerpt from my full blog post:

"The Northall Bar offers a variety of champagne flights featuring bubbly from Laurent-Perrier to Rothschild at a price range of £16 to £29. Considering you get three glasses of bubbles, that's quite a good price for a hotel bar.

I opted for the Laurent-Perrier flight (£25) where you get an LP Brut, LP Rosé and an LP Vintage 2006. If you remember, I went to James Court Hotel a few months back where I was treated to their own LP flight. The main difference, other than the £5 disparity, is that SJC's vintage was from 2004. Though I much prefer the 2004, I genuinely think the ambience at the Corinthia makes up for it. "

As I very very very slowly move away from eating my body weight in afternoon tea, I’ve decided to take on a new challenge and check out what the luxury hotels in London can offer us gluten free folks for breakfast, lunch, dinner and more importantly dessert!  So after a rather quick discussion with Zoe from Love and Limoncello we decided to check out the gluten free breakfast on offer at the Corinthia Hotel in London.

The huge ceilings are held up by imposing white columns, giving the room a feeling of grandeur. While the windows, columns and stucco work on the ceiling throws back to the hotel’s Victorian origins, the room is brought into the 21st century with huge, dramatic, contemporary chandelier -esque lighting and jet black tables. I have been to the Northall for dinner twice – in February 2012 and more

With Garry’s knowledge of great ingredients and a clear ability to create simple and beautifully cooked dishes it’s difficult to see anyone could improve on this classic British dining experience; the only caveat being that prices are suitably high to match the hotel’s premium-end positioning.

The Northall, set inside The Corinthia hotel in Westminster has been on my 'restaurants to visit' list for a while now. So when I decided to treat my significant other to dinner for getting a new job, I wanted somewhere special. The images I had previously seen had always attracted me to this place and with good reports from friends; I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed.

As you step through the grand entrance in to the bar you’re transported to a world of elegance. The room has high ceilings and feels very spacious, with mirrored walls and the bar positioned in the centre, this is a beautiful room. As we arrived early we decided to sit down and enjoy a cocktail here.

Once our table was ready we were then lead from one amazing room to another. We were greeted by white table clothed tables with fashionable orange leather seats and huge windows letting in plenty of light. As we sat down we were handed the menu consisting of modern British cuisine which all sounded very exciting!

Truffled goats cheese mousse, gingerbread, beetroot and radish with a raspberry and hazelnut dressing was a vibrant, good looking plate of food. A combination of saltiness, sweetness and sharpness with sticky gingerbread was a pleasing mouthful. The truffle was slightly overpowering for my liking, but still enjoyable. The shellfish bisque with crab and crayfish ravioli had an incredible aroma to it and tasted absolutely wonderful. For mains I had sea bass with confit octopus, razor clams, saffron potato risotto and a garlic veloute. This was a stunning dish and I savoured every mouthful as I didn’t want it to end. With elements of the ocean pleasing the taste buds, a well-cooked piece of fish, crispy octopus and another texture from the risotto, this was my favourite of the evening. The Lamb saddle with sweetbreads was another well executed plate of food. The lamb was pink and cooked to perfection with the minted jus and shallot puree intensifying the flavour.

Rosemary and white chocolate parfait with a fig carpaccio and lemon jam made for a refreshing dessert. The sourness of the lemon was balanced perfectly with the sweetness of the chocolate, fig and honeycomb. The vanilla and salted caramel cheesecake was to die for! A silky cream cheese sitting on top of a deep chocolate brownie and accompanied with a walnut ice cream was gorgeous.

The waiting team were brilliant and they definitely made us feel special. The sommelier was very knowledgeable of the vast wine list and selected some great tasting and very drinkable bottles. The whole experience was spectacular and if you enjoy dining out then this is a place that must be visited. Once we had finished in the Northall we then had a night cap in the Bassoon bar, which has a very intimate atmosphere and was a great way to end the evening.

The Northall restaurant located in the grand Corinthia hotel is an impressive place serving great food that is slightly let down by patchy service.

Whilst the staff are friendly they're not quite on the ball - we asked for red wine and were brought white, we sent it back and were then presented with a different bottle to the one we'd asked for. At the end of the meal we asked for cognac and no one seemed to have ever heard of it, yet not even a minute down the hall was a bar with an huge array of cognacs and brandies available. Maybe a bit more training is required?

The meal itself was fabulous. Mackerel tartar and rillettes is served with wasabi caviar, tomato jelly, cucumber raita ice cream and coriander and is simply amazing with the different flavours coming together and tasting fresh and light. A perfect starter. Special mention for the bread rolls which are served warm and fresh and are dangerously moreish.

Slow cooked lamb belly, a cut I've never had before, is tender, rich and seasoned to perfection. All lamb should be this way. It's served with summer vegetables and a fennel and marjoram broth and is the absolute highlight of the meal.

For dessert the dark chocolate and walnut brownie is a bit too busy for my liking, served as it is with a beetroot ganache, mint chocolate chip ice cream and all sorts of flakes, fruit and wafers of chocolate. It doesn't quite work, although the brownie itself is deep and intensely rich, and it feels a bit too much like showing off.

This is a place to go on a special occasion or celebration as the grandeur of the room and quality of the food more than outweigh the service issues.

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend's family to celebrate two birthdays. The decor is beautiful and the service was excellent on the dinner occasion but lacking on the afternoon brunch experience.
The food is delicious and beautifully presented. A definite must for foodies if you like classic menus.

I went last Monday night with a friend for dinner and we chose the set menu which included a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne plus 3 courses. Everything about the place is special ! the ambiance, setting, the staff and customer service, and most importantly the food.
I cannot wait to go again !!

Our meal here was absolutely stunning and the service was phenomenal. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and did not leave disappointed! We tried the house cured salmon, the ricotta and pine nut ravioli, the pork tenderloin, and the veal, as well as some wine. Everything was exceptional, from the sourdough that came out with an artichoke cream and decadent salted butter, all the way through the mains and the dessert selections offered. There was a small hiccup with the side not arriving with our mains (which wasn’t an issue to begin with.) and our server removed the charge without even being asked. I would return here in a heartbeat and wish to thank all of the staff for making our first meal in London and our wedding anniversary special, and certainly a meal to remember!

Great atmosphere. The staff are very polite and diligent. They had a good kids menu too for children under 12 years old. We went for my wife’s birthday and they brought out a nice surprise dessert which was very sweet of them. The bar was also very trendy and had a good selection of cocktails and mocktails. Would definitely go there again and try more dishes. Set menu was decently priced too which I had, while my wife selected from the a la carte menu.

Went to Northall resturant for a business dinner. Great fine dinning resturant with prices to match, but definetly worth it! For starters we had bread with butter and I had Hand Cut Lake District Beef Tartare - without a doubt one of the best tartares I had in while. Thus was followed by the Grilled Iberico Pork Loin, cooked medium and moist with mash potatos. For dessert an amazing merengue and stramberry dessert. Wines were also great, in par with the quality of the resturant. For business or special events this is the resturant to go.

Serving modern European, with bar. Great location, atmosphere, and very professional and friendly services. Selective and seasonal menus. Very high food quality, desserts look great but taste is a little pale in comparison, still great though.

One of the finest bars we have visited in our travels, The Northall exudes elegance. Our bartender Mr. Gaina made me a "Midnight Follies" cocktail with The Lakes Gin and it was superb. My wife enjoyed a glass of fine English Gusbourne Blanc de Blanc. We always make time to have a cocktail or two at The Northall during our London visits.

I visited this stately place with nice big windows and mirrors twice and hat the fish both times. I had the liver with scones for starter。Delicious! The first time the fish was perfectly cooked with garnishes that really complimented. I had the sliced peaches and mango sherbet for dessert. It was not too sweet but just right for ending a meal. The fish in the second visit was a little too salty. My dessert, a kiwi fruit tart, was light and tasty. Service was excellent both times. What's more, the prices are reasonable. All in all a fine place to eat, much better than the one next door!

The Corinthia in itself houses a few fantastic restaurants, The Northall is no exception. Fantastic atmosphere, top of the notch staff, excellent wine & cocktails lists not to mention the location. Ordered set menu but went a la carte for dessert, cocktails before settling for hot chocolate complete with mini marshmallows. A lovely tasteful evening.

A quiet Wednesday evening for them. Excellent from Start to finish. We had an amazing sommelier called Selina who was engaging and wonderful to talk to about her knowledge of wine. The ceviche starter was good as was the chicken mains .both presented beautifully. Desert of gateau was also very good. Had the most amazing wines- the amarone and the pipparello. Will be back next month when the set dinner menu changes.

A charming and rustic trattoria with an authentic Italian ambiance. The pasta dishes were a celebration of flavors, and the tiramisu was a perfect ending. The cozy setting and attentive service made it a great spot for a cozy meal.
