While I regret not trying the lobster roll because of the many great feedback I heard about it, I really enjoyed the Lobster burger! The truffle and brie add an incredibly delicious taste to it! The fries were ok, and service was great.
Where to start... the staff are extremely friendly and the place is nice and cozy. The lobster roll was pretty good but tooooo salty for my liking. The burger was delicious. Would recommend the fried calamari as a starter but would also say it was salty.
We were looking for a place to eat and happened to be walking by, so we popped in. Place was packed and there was an hour wait to get in, but fortunately they offered us a table right away. Menu is pretty toned down and simple- burgers and/or lobster. We tried both and weren’t disappointed. Even the chips (fries) and salad that come with the meals were really good. Definitely a must try, if you’re in the area.
Lovely place and concepy. My friend recommended this place and I’m really glad I tried it. It very known for its combo meal which obviously has burger and lobster. Unfortunately, on that day I decided to only try the burger. I had the Chilli Burger. It was so good and hot. Their drinks are also great. Service is prompt and staff is welcoming. Definitely going back to try the combo. I wish it was cheaper though.
I've lived in Boston, a city famous for its Maine Lobster Rolls, and this place serves one that can challenge Boston's cultural treat.
It's always busy, but yet well spaced out. A must visit for everyone!

Simple menu, burger or lobster. I went with the burger and it was solid, good sized, cooked reasonably. Fries were good. Fun atmosphere. Open broader hours than most if you're between lunch and dinner.

I picked this restaurant for the evening because I loved the concept: limited choice on a menu but the limited options were amazing. I had the lobster burger (brioche bun) and it was incredible. I was surprised that the lobster was cold - I wish it had been warm but it was nevertheless delicious. I had the South Carolina cocktail and that is one of my favourite cocktails to date.
A Burger & Lobster has just opened in Cape Town and I can't wait to try it out.
The lobster roll was amazing!!! My friend ended up having two grilled lobsters which tasted equally yum which was served along with a garlic sauce!

I love this branch. The staff was very friendly. She shows us the trick to get the meat out of a lobster claw. Personally i think that the grilled lobester tastes better than the roll for the fact that i love my food to be serve hot.
Too often, I’m overwhelmed by all the choices available at restaurants, which is why Burger & Lobster is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for a delicious meal without all the complications. K and I were very keen to visit while we were in London as we’d heard great things about it. The idea is simple – choose burger or lobster. The former comes as a gargantuan 10 ounce steak beefburger while the latter is further subdivided into a whole lobster or a lobster roll. All options are same price and served with fries and salad, so it ultimately boils down to a single decision. We were in a seafood mood that night so we ended up ordering both lobster options – for the same price, it definitely seemed like the smarter choice to go for lobster over burger.
The beeeest! My new favourite spot in London for sure - this place is simple and effective. They might not have 3 options but they do them extremely well.
The ambience is great as everyone is loving the food they are eating. I've gone in a group and I've gone alone - enjoyed it equally! Wine is affordable too.

Burger and Lobster serves the best lobster roll, I've ever had. I've introduced many of my family and friends to Burger and Lobster and so far no one has left the restaurant disappointed!
Just be aware that no bookings can be made at this restaurant and during dinner-time you may have to be put on the waiting list due to popular demand. But it's worth it!

Portugal has a very strong tradition, speaking in gastronomic terms, to have great seafood, however eat lobster is quite expensive. The Burger & Lobster was a pleasant surprise, with a fantastic concept, only 3 ways to eat lobster and a great price!

Had the burger and a Sussex Bitter for lunch. I was skeptical of this place, but the burger (I added bacon) and fries with some complementary greens added on the side proved to be outstanding. Cool place, I would definitely come back and go for either another burger or try the lobster.

One of the very few places where you can have a good quality laid back meal in Mayfair. I keep coming back because the lobster is priced really fairly and is delicious and the vibe is great. The only let down for me is dessert! Normally only one choice and is subpar compared to the rest of the meal.

For the price, you really can't fault the restaurant. Excellent lobster and sides for a very reasonable price. However, the no booking rule means that you are likely to be left standing in the cold for a long time. Maybe a test to see how badly you REALLY want that lobster. I have had the burger once but although it is good, seems a bit over priced when you get lobster for the same price. That is even discounting the human costs (i.e. queuing) that you will have to endure to earn a seat at the table. So do yourself a favor. Go for the lobster, not the burger.

Call me lazy but I’d be a happier man if I was presented with a multi-choice questionnaire for decisions I had to make on a daily basis. That way, I can spend less time on trivial subjects such as shirt/tie combos and turn my attention to big issues such as how to achieve world peace and, more importantly, what to have for my next meal. Unfortunately, it’s not all quite that easy but Burger and Lobster are sure doing their best to keep things as simple as possible.
With multiple locations around London, Burger and Lobster have made a name for themselves through 2 things; their burgers and their lobster. In fact, the most difficult thing about the meal is getting a table which, because bookings are not usually taken, can take up to over an hour if you go during peak times.
But once you do get in, everything becomes pretty straight forward. You have the choice of either ordering the burger, the lobster roll or the lobster. Complications arise only if you decided to go for the lobster where you have to choose whether you want small, medium or large and grilled or steamed. The burger, lobster roll and small lobster are all £20 (with the medium and large lobsters understandably costing more) and come with a serving of salad and chips.
Being a man of simple mind, I stayed away from the difficult decisions accompanying the lobster and ordered the lobster roll though my more competent friends managed to get through the lobster order with no trouble (they got a small one and grilled. I was shocked at how easy they made it look).
The lobster roll, a toasted brioche bun stuffed with lobster meat and served with a light Japanese mayo, is 100% pure awesomeness. It was just absolutely incredible. The brioche bun was buttery and creamy which complemented the lobster filling like they were designed to be eaten together and the lobster was steamed cooked just right - still firm to the bite and retained all its natural seafood goodness. I could eat this over and over and over again. I’m hungry just thinking about it.
The lobster that came to our table was grilled over charcoal and served with a beautiful garlic butter sauce. The sauce, though full of flavour, was subtle enough as to not overpower the taste of the crayfish. I also thought the portion of crayfish was quite generous for £20 and that this dish was probably the best value for money of the 3 choices.
As far as the sides go, they may not make your meal but they are not certainly nothing to be scoffed at. The salad was spinach, red onion and parmesan which was nice but like Homer Simpson famously proclaimed, “You don’t make friends with salad”. The chips were excellently fried; crunchy exterior but fluffy and dense interior and though not meant to be the highlight of the dish, held its own as part of the overall meal.
So there it is, a delicious stress-free meal done and dusted. Now I can finally move onto more important thoughts such as finding a socially acceptable location in Central London to take a nap in public.

When I started this blog coming up to two years ago now I would write about anything and everything – from art galleries I’ve visited to fancy dress outfits I’d created. Since then it’s been heavily weighted with food reviews. I love finding new places, particularly independently run restaurants and bars to visit and review. What better place to find these new experiences than London – steeped in history, buzzing with energy and constantly leading the field in everything from its cuisine to its cutting edge fashions, there really is no place more diverse or exciting to live in the UK than London (ShortList, 2012).
Menu is simple and straight forward. Three dishes to chose from. Lobster (grilled or boiled), lobster roll or burger. (Any dish is for 20£).
Loved the grilled lobster, didn't like the boiled lobster claws.
A must visit. Restaurant doesn't take reservations. First come first served. Be early otherwise be prepared to wait 30 - 45 minutes.

Omg we waited an hour and a half for a table last week my friends all got the lobster clearly they had the right advice slung to them I however was interested in what type of burger id get for 20 quid. It was a good burger but as my friends say now who goes to burger and lobster and doesn't get lobster, so here's the advice first hand always get the lobster to avoid food envy!
Great Place!! But....... I was at Burger & Lobster recently with friends from work for drinks/dinner. Upon entering we were pleasantly greeted by the waitress and sat down much quicker than she had initially promised. Big tick on service. My friend and I decided to order one of each (burger/lobster.. just in case) and halve between us. The burger was very delicious. The lobster however was a little disappointing. Whilst cooked well it had a chlorine taste to it and wasn't as fresh as I had hoped for. Maybe it was an off night. They made up for it though with a great dessert. So would I go again???? Absolutely, but I do hope there is some improvement in the lobster!!
Simple and excellent. I have been here three times now and it has been consistently excellent every time. I always have the burger (not a lobster fan) and it has been cooked to perfection every time. Great concept, super staff and good food every time. Brilliant!

Thursday Dinner. Myself and five friends decided to check out this restaurant following a recommendation. The food was great, although I was disappointed to hear they had no gluten-free bread, and only the "California burger" was available to me. However, the no-carb alternative was delicious, and our waitress Ellie was attentive, efficient, and made our meal very special. Thank you to all at B &L.

Great food, easy selection. Worth the wait for a table. Both lobster roll and burger were delish, but £20 burger is not good value for money. Go with the lobster.
Lobster roll. Yep really only three items on the menu, burger, lobster, or lobster roll. All for the same price. The burger was great, favorable, juicy, huge, bacon, I mean what more could you ask for. However the lobster roll simply outshines that burger. Oh my the amount of butter in the toast totally made up for the fact that there wasn't any butter to dip the lobster in. HUGE chunks of lobster, i even saw a complete claw. Service was good and explained our choices very nicely. Our server also dealt nicely with the table next door that couldn't figure out what they were ordering (they had the same three choices but couldn't handle that, would be interesting to watch that group at a three page menu place :)

Good eats. I fully expected to be annoyed by the no-reservations policy, but the doorman/name-taker could not have been nicer about it (and there was no wait when I got there at 5:50 on a Friday). Had to wait for the whole party to get there so kept pushing our name back...Glad we waited.
The lobster is INCREDIBLY good value - 20 pounds and you'll leave full and happy. Its a simple concept and well executed - from the lobster to the garlic butter to the fries. And even a tasty, differentish side salad.
Bloody mary's also were delish. Only complaint is that it felt a bit rushed - our food was brought to table within 2 minutes of ordering (literally) and then after we were done, had dessert in front of us were told that they needed to turn over the table. While I applaud the fact that its one of the few restaurants in London that seems keen on actually making money/turnover, that's not something a waitress should SAY when you've been seated for approx 1hr.
Would definitely go back - but better for a quick bite with someone you know, then a group dinner because you definitely CANT linger over drinks...

Definitely worth a visit. I went on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner with a friend, we managed to get a high table as soon as we walked in, which was great as I've heard that you can end up waiting a fair while for a table during more busy periods. We were both suitably impressed. The restaurant is in a great location, less than 5mins walk from Piccadilly and right near the lovely Green Park. We both went for the lobster, mine steamed whilst my friend had his grilled, and we both opted for the garlic butter sauce. From my understanding all the dishes come with chips and a side salad. You basically get served half a lobster which is split down the middle. Although this was my first time eating lobster I thought it was of a good quality and could tell straight away that it was fresh. Personally I would probably opt for having my lobster grilled if I was to eat there again, as the taste and texture were more to my personal preference. We both chose drinks from the Aperitif part of the cocktail menu. I thought that they were very well made and of a good value in terms of Central London (£9 each). I would strongly suggest having a drink at the bar before having a meal as these cocktails I thought were worth tasting and they have a great bar which stretches the length of the restaurant. In terms of decor there was a heavy influence on wood, with wood paneled walls, and the bar, tables and chairs all entirely wooden too. Overall I'd recommend this restaurant and would probably visit again, as I think you can get a very good meal for under £30.

The lobster roll was very rich which I was expecting. The lobster (plentiful in quantity and definitely worth the £20) was very tender and went well with the chilled mayonnaise that it was mixed with. The brioche bun that was overfilled with the lobster meat provided a nice buttery flavour as well. A very rich dish indeed that only my cocktail could cure. It was really good though.

I’ll admit – I’m a bit late on this one. Burger and Lobster was huge last year and the queues became legendary. It’s a testament to the popularity of their concept and the standard of their food that even a year later it can still take two hours to get a table. Relatively early on a weekday night we were seated in around an hour – far more reasonable! For those who aren’t familiar – Burger and Lobster serves just that. For £20 you get a Lobster (steamed, grilled or in a roll) or a Burger (top quality beef in a brioche bun). You can also splash out on some truly enormous lobsters (7lb 8oz anyone!?) The atmosphere is informal and relaxed – the music is a little loud, but the waiters are friendly and the service prompt. With any restaurant that limits itself to just a handful of ingredients it needs to be perfect. I didn’t have a chance to sample the burger – that will have to wait for another trip – but I can certainly speak to the lobster. I ordered mine grilled with garlic and lemon bu

Burger & Lobster is no longer a novelty on the London restaurant scene, but judging by the crowds that still throng outside waiting for a table, not a trend that is going to die down any time soon.
The lobster was of a good size. It came with salad and crispy chips with butter sauce on the side. I think the sauce was not needed. The lobster on its own was enough to be the star, with its perfectly cooked fresh flesh, juicy and sweet. Delightful! We were also given some Japanese mayonnaise for the chips.
I really, really loved Burger & Lobster. If I lived locally I would be there all the time, it’s top quality ‘fast food’ and good value too.
The queues are horrific, but if you are willing to loiter on the mean streets of Mayfair, West London, you’ll be rewarded with the best value lobsters in town...
One of the better burgers I have had in London. The fries and side salad were good, but played second fiddle to the main event. Yes the burger is expensive at £20, but I’d say it’s worth it, especially with your sides included.
...inside the patty itself was very soft and broke in a satisfyingly easy manner with every bite. It was topped with lettuce, a very soft slice of tomato, some red onion and what appeared to be a mayonnaise sauce. The bun was a classic toasted brioche, studded with white AND black sesame.
All in all, this was a fantastic experience: I went in with ridiculously high expectations and was still pleasantly surprised. This was the kind of meal that you would expect to pay (at least) £50 for, and at only £20 each, you really are getting a special occasion treat at everyday prices.
With a tip of the hat to Ronseal, this place does exactly what it says on the tin. You can only order Burger or Lobster, and what a fantastic proposition, as half of London seemed to agree having seen how busy this place was at 6.30 on a Monday!
You should go, and go with the confidence that you'll be getting a lot of good, fresh seafood that would cost more elsewhere.

Burger & Lobster thrives on a simple ‘rule of three’ menu, proving the old adage that less is sometimes more. While one is not spoilt for choice, it makes life oh-so-much-easier when the menu reads £20 for either: 1. Burger 2. Lobster 3. Lobster roll
The concept at B&L is so simple. It's a no reservations joint and there are only three choices on the 'menu' and they all cost 20 pounds. There's the 10oz burger made famous at sister restaurant Goodman, a lobster roll, or finally, a whole lobster. Actually, with the whole lobster we encounter a couple of other options. Do we want the lobster steamed, or do we want it grilled? Oh and the final choice is melted butter. Straight up or laced with lemon and garlic.
This is an impressive feat judging by the never-ending flow of lobsters that streamed past our table. The claws were cracked as promised, and once we'd broken them up (thank goodness we wore our bibs), the claw-meat came straight out of the pincer with a plop. The butter dressing was nice, but a bit superfluous for me - the meat tasted delicious as it was.
So if you want to get your hands dirty and deconstruct an entire lobster or just simply inhale a lobster roll in one breath like I did, make your way down to Mayfair to the queue outside Burger & Lobster.
It serves fantastic food, it’s excellent value for money and it’s civilised. Don’t get me wrong, I can rough it with the best of them (as you have seen) but my preference is to sit in a lovely, well lit, comfortable restaurant where you can have a good old natter. Burger and Lobster delivered all of this and more.
The lobster was juicy, fresh and the mayonnaise delicate. There was a really good amount of lobster in this. The bread was perfect. It wasn’t actually a roll, as such – it was more two thick slices of buttery, toasted challah bread. Some might say that to use the traditional Jewish loaf with lobster is an abomination. All I would say to them is that they haven’t tried it with bacon.
Believe the hype, this place was very, very good and a lovely concept.
The food menu here is extremely short. You get 3 options:

The satisfaction of devouring an entire lobster by myself was overwhelming. Stunning value. There are more extravagant options, like lobsters around 7kg going for £90 each. I saw the waiter brought out one and it was an alien. Not sure if it was a good idea considering how tricky it'd be to cook to perfection.
B&L is so clever, and so simply brilliant. Totally worth the wait.

...the friendly, well informed staff and the mixed bunch of diners who were wearing big plastic bibs and having fun pulling apart their lobsters created a warm casual atmosphere. We had a couple of draught Greenwich Meantime beers with our lobsters,
The lobster roll is pretty tasty as well, throw in some great booze, excellent service once you get through the door, and you’ve got the makings of an excellent little restaurant.
But was it worth it? The hour and a half worth of waiting, the strategizing, the inability to feel my toes because of inappropriate foot wear choices, the £300 bill, which did include copious amounts of alcohol, the good but not exciting food. Was it worth it? Perhaps. It was a great night, but is it worth the effort now I've been there done that, I'm not too sure. I'll probably wait until the buzz dies down, or they've expanded, and the queue gets smaller. I like places like B&L, the ones who restaurant by restaurant try to restore the equilibrium.
The proposition at Burger & Lobster is so good, at such a decent price, the fact that anyone should provide this for hungry Londoners brings to mind public service rather than commercial enterprise, though no public services are of course ever this good. Do they give Russians knighthoods? First Goodman , now this; perhaps we should just get our wages paid straight into his bank account. B&L has some of MEATliquor's DNA in the offering: no bookings, great cocktails, amazing prices and food eaten off trays rather than plates, but for those who don't like MEATliquor's brash interior design, permanent darkness and deafening music, the inside of B&L is a somewhat more refined affair with leather banquets, natural light and the sound only of people having a good time. Burger and Lobster is a venture from steakhouse Goodman, doing exactly what it says. There are only three menu options: burger, lobster and lobster roll, each served with chips and salad, and each costing £20 (plus service). The premises are situated at the north-west end of Clarges Street in a converted pub, the dining room in three sections. The first two sections have a wooden floor, the final one a few steps up with a tiled floor. The room has wood panelling yet exposed pipework, a rather odd mix of styles: smart yet somewhat industrial, seatsing 65 at capacity. No reservations are taken.
A new kid is on the block, by the hand of Goodman , we have Burger & Lobster, a fast pace lobster bar with a simple three dishes menu, a burger, a lobster, or a lobster roll, all of them served with fries and salad. A big bar serving fancy cocktails apparently created by Soul Shakers, all this in a modern lobster paradise, the wooden walls playing with bright lights in order to really appreciate your food and have a vivid experience. The place was full, I put my name on the list and head my way into the long bar to look for a drink while I was waiting, a huge cocktails list, I preferred to keep it simple and had a Meantime Lager. Some sort of world lounge music, international sounds mixed with the noisy dining room, a Putumayo relax set list that is combine with the noise from hungry patrons.
Clearly Burger & Lobster isn’t only hitting the spot with us mere amateur foodies, Angela Hartnett was sat at the bar during my meal and apparently AA Gill had been in earlier. Were he not the epitomy of discretion, delightful and chatty front man Alex could soon be worse than a London cabbie: “Ere you’ll never guess who I had in the back of my cab the other day…..” And that is no bad thing when the people who are visiting really know their stuff. In the words of one celebrity who- to the best of my knowledge- hasn’t yet been to B&L – “I’ll be back”.
I had been wanting to go to Burger & Lobster for the longest time. Then, a few weeks ago, after I had been thwarted in my attempt to see the Hockney exhibition at the RA (I got there later in the day when the queueing time went down from two hours to one hour) I had the brilliant idea of ducking round the corner in Maytfair and trying out Burger & Lobster . Whilst there are apparently queues (always in London, the queues...) at lunchtimes and particularly in the evening, on this Saturday afternoon it was actually pretty easy to get a table, although I chose to sit up at the bar and ended up having an instructive lesson on gin from the friendly barman. Serving (the clue is in the name) only superlative burgers and whole grilled or steamed lobsters with a side salad and chips, the £20 flat price - exorbitant for a burger but peanuts for crustacea - has seen the restaurant getting through almost two tonnes of lobsters every week since opening at the end of 2011.
I’m not sure if Burger and Lobster would have been possible a few years ago. Imagine a restaurant opening with only 2 things on the menu and both for the same price. Unthinkable. Just shows how far we have come I guess. We merry bunch of five, really enjoyed our meal at Burger and Lobster with its buzzy atmosphere, fun service and easy bloody menu. After residing at the bar for over an hour waiting for one of our party, who was having tube problems. Finally she arrived and amazingly we were seated within moments, now this is how a “No Reservations” system should work. Unlike a certain restaurant on Greek Street who didn’t deem us worthy enough to eat in their restaurant. But more on that bitch another time. Ordering here is simple, 10oz burger, 1½lb lobster either grilled or steamed with a couple of butter sauces, or the lobster roll served in a toasted buttery brioche roll. We got a lobster and a lobster roll to try. The lobster was very well seasoned and perfectly cooked, it was a bit oily for my liking. The lobster roll was amazing! Flavourful and filling. A must visit for the lobster roll.

When the first Burger & Lobster opened in London, the whole world and his brother wanted a taste of what was touted as “the cheapest lobster in Mayfair”. The restaurant has chosen to follow London’s latest trend of “please queue in the rain because we don’t take bookings” and, although torn between my love of lobster and my fathomable dislike of queuing, I tried to get a table on a Friday evening.
I suppose it was inevitable that I was turned away at the door. When I arrived, a man energetically controlling the list of lobster-eaters that night looked down at his clipboard briefly before suggesting I return at a less busy time. Although slightly peeved, I heeded his advice and ended up scoring a table for lunch the following week.
Oh my, what a lunch.
The menu at Burger & Lobster isn’t particularly long – and why should it be? The name is pretty self-explanatory: you choose between lobster, a lobster roll and a burger. Each choice is served alongside a simple mixed salad and a side of chips – all for £20 (no wonder the restaurant is known as Mayfair’s cheapest lobster!). I opted for the lobster roll; a brioche bun generously filled with fresh lobster, mayonnaise and chives. The brioche was perfectly toasted, incredibly buttery and managed to hold the overflowing lobster remarkably well.
The wine list wasn’t particularly long – I ended up opting for a crisp, acidic, unoaked sauvignon blanc. It's one of the recommended lobster and wine pairings featured on my app, Grapeful. I would have liked to see a couple of other options - Chablis in particular - but I guess with no food menu, a long wine list isn't exactly their style.
We got a burger each and a lobster to share and the food was great. The burger had a lot of fillings and was very tasty - top 5 burgers I've ever had.
Lobster was a little on the small side and if it wasn't for the burgers, the lobster on my own wouldn't of been enough.
Cocktails options were good and the service was efficient.
Will go again when in the area.
Definitely one of the best burgers you can buy in London so juicy and cooked to perfection I've tried the lobster lobster roll and a burger in this restaurant and it is always cooked perfectly and their cocktails are fantastic
I thought I could beat the queue by going to this branch of Burger and Lobster (instead of the the incredibly busy one in Soho) at 5:30pm on a Saturday night - I was wrong. There was still an hour wait!
However, like the other branches, I was not disappointed with the food and service! We all ordered the whole lobster with garlic butter sauce ,which I think is better value for money than the other options. As always, the meal was delicious! You get a lot more lobster, chips and salad here than at the Big Easy. The garlic butter sauce is also tastier (I could easily drink it)!
Overall, another good trip to Burger and Lobster!
Only £20? You've got to be kidding me! I literally love this place so much!!! I can never get enough I always come back I love the lobster and the way it's presented with the fries and salad! There service is very quick and I love that! I don't have to wait so long. I always go to the Mayfair branch just because I feel it's abit more sophisticated and it's close to Piccadilly Circus and home.
I was worried this was over-hyped, pretentiousness on a plate. It's in fact exactly the opposite.
We started with a Founders All Day IPA and made our way into the Grilled whole Lobster. Delicious, perfectly cooked and an absolutely cracking garlic sauce which I reckon would be perfect on just about everything.
We ate at the bar as tables were full and we had a great time eating, chatting and enjoying the restaurant. Our food literally arrived in 5 minutes from order to table and the side salad and fries were great to fill the gaps.
I thought I would still be hungry after that meal but it was filling and satisfying.
Overall great experience, would definitely go back.

I visited this restaurant last week to meet a business friend for lunch. This place has never disappointed me and this time was no different.. The food was good quality and the drinks were lovely. Moreover, the prices were very reasonable. You must try the paneer kathi roll- it is simply delicious. I recommend this place to all.
This restaurant has a weird policy of not allowing reservations beforehand. But apart from that, I found it to be an excellent place. There are limited menu options to choose from, for the main course, and there are no appetisers. The menu only includes the burgers, the lobsters and lobster rolls. All the entrees came with complimentary salads and fries, and everything was brilliantly prepared and presented. The menu had two desserts available, and there was a limited drinks menu. Everything I ordered was ravishing, except for maybe the rolls, which I would have been preferred fuller. All in all, I liked the place, and it is a good option for an impromptu dinner plan. I would definitely revisit.

All the three mentioned above have been priced the same that is 20 pounds. The food happens to be amazing and delicious. You might just love this place as a getaway between your long working hours. The menu here only consists of lobsters and burgers. While all my friends decided to order the lobster, I went ahead with ordering the burger. The burger was mouth-watering delicious and the lobsters were also absolutely delightful. The place offers a great variety of beers, and I enjoyed mine thoroughly. This place is very near to my house and I am a fan of lobsters so I guess I got my place.
The lobster was pretty simple and yet tasty , if you know how to cook your food then pretty basic presentation can also make out great deal from the meal.

I absolutely loved this place. They serve only lobsters and burgers. The place does not accept reservations, and a must-go if you can wait for your table. The food this place has to offer is absolutely delightful. The lobster is perfectly cooked. As soon as you take the first morsel of your food you will understand the craze of this place among the masses. Burgers are to die for. Lobster sandwich which is also great and a choice of different size lobsters from the standard £20 to the biggest they have at over £150. This place serves some of the best burgers of the city, but it serves even better lobsters. I was recommended to this place by a family friend, and after visiting it the first time, I am glad to have gone and cannot wait to visit again soon. Their service is immaculate and rare in the city.
This place always welcomes you with a long queue outside the door for all the good reasons. Besides, this place also a no advance reservation. There is no printed menu and rather a member of the staff verbally offers three menu options: Burger, lobster and lobster roll selection! All the selections are interesting and delicious!
I had heard some good reviews about the lobster roll in the restaurant, so thought of giving it a try on my own. But i preferred the grilled lobster since i am not a great fan of cold roll specially as a lunch meal. The dish served was great, served with lovely green salad and french fries. This restaurant has a no-reservations policy so we were expecting to be disappointed when we got there a couple of days back. But the doorman just could not have been nicer and got us a table as soon as we reached. We ordered a Lobster which was utterly delicious and was very reasonably priced. We had a Bloody mary which too was really delicious.
The menu had only three items! And all were priced similarly. the burger was really good and juicy with a huge bacon chunk. The lobster however, outshone the burger! The butter on the toast made it so delicious. The lobster chunks were very big. The service was exceptional and they explained our choices to us!

It is always amazing when you witness a very warm welcoming staff. We had visited this place earlier this week and were swooned by their service. The staff is very well trained and very soft spoken. The service is well coordinated and the staff members possess a very pleasing personality. They have a limited menu but then, the food they possess is delectable. I am in love with their generosity in portions and the service. I thoroughly recommend this place.
I had read several reviews about this restaurant and heard a lot about it from my friends so I finally decided to give it a shot. Luckily we arrived early and did not have to wait in a long queue for a table and were directly given one. The atmosphere of the place was nice and it was buzzing with people. The staff were very helpful and hospitable. Our drinks came super fast and food as well. Liked the food, it was fine but nothing outstanding. All in all, I feel this place is a little hyped up.
In my opinion, this chain of restaurant is just the most reliable and efficient i have ever seen. The management is spot on and the staff super quick and caring.

Another one on your order must be the burgers, the charges may seam a little too steep but let me assure you ,you wont regret it.

A fairly good option dining here. Visited the place with my colleagues. The place has only 3 things to offer- Burger, Lobster and a lobster Burger. The place had a no booking policy yet inspite of the rush, the staff seemed to manage it all well. The operations went around smoothly, the place had livid atmosphere, good music and pleasant decor. Even the food served was great. We were offered all the 3 dishes and none seemed like a disappointment. The lobster brioche was tender and juicy accompanied by tasty wasabi mayonnaise. Despite the taste, the burger seemed a little overpriced. I’d rather prefer dining at this amount some other place for a less price or better food for the same price.
This place has great interiors with high ceilings. I was lucky to get a good spot by the kitchen, allowing me to see the cooking in action. My friends enjoyed what they ate i.e. the whole lobster with garlic lemon butter and the roll with Japanese mayo.

The lobsters are brought in on a daily basis that makes it fresh and worth paying for. The pricing is reasonable and it is definitely a must visit.
I had a great lunch here, as I had a discount coupon! I chose to have the a la carte option. The wine served to me was not the one mentioned on the list, however, it was still good. The service also was impeccable making the meal really enjoyable. The staff was friendly and it created a nice atmosphere.

It usually is quite challenging to come up with something new that will be so good, it will keep the customers waiting in line to get a table. Burger and Lobster achieved just that with their simple and delicious food.
As you finally manage to sit down, you only get a drinks menu, as you're supposed to know what to eat already (you can think about it while waiting in line). Everybody knows that you can only chose between a burger, lobster and a lobster roll, however if the waiter asks you if you've been to the restaurant before, and you say no, he will explain all the dishes to you.
Every main dish costs 20£, which is a little steep for a burger, but a very fair price for fresh lobster. When I first came, I didn't ever try lobster before (am only now slowly becoming a seafood fan) and took the burger. It was actually one of the few burgers that I thought was really amazing and worth coming back to, definitely not the usual stuff which you can get almost everywhere in London (I asked and apparently the secret is the selection of spices in the meat and the high quality ingredients). Next time I was brave enough to try the Lobster Roll and it turned me into a lobster lover.
As I unfortunately have to eat gluten free I never got the chance to try the toasted brioche bread that the Lobster Roll comes in, not the garlic-butter but I've heard they make for a delicious meal. The service was very nice, double checking everything for gluten and there was no problem for me to get my food the way I wanted it.
Tip: Try to come during lunch hours, as in the evenings the place can become so packed (they do not take any reservations) it will take a very long while before you can finally sit down and enjoy the food.

At burger and lobster the menu only has 3 dishes: a burger, one full lobster or a lobster roll all served with fries and salad....all for 20 pounds each.
Service is excellent and the food arrived on silver trays and paper.
Beautifully cooked lobster with a delicious salad and chips cooked to perfection just melts in your mouth.
Only problem is that you cannot pre-book but don't be put off by the queue or waiting time, its well worth it.

Because you sit in decadent surroundings eating decadent food (Lobster) but an informal experience (plastic bibs, served in paper etc)
The food is great, the lobster is well cooked and a bargain when considering it is the same price as the burger. A restaurant experience often is about expectation management so as with anything in life that has furore around it something gets lost. To keep up with the sheer pace of people turning up at your door actually willing to queue for an hour it's not easy. So as long as you avoid peak times you're in for a good experience.

I enjoyed a lot my time at the restaurant, which is a bit noisy. The lobster I ordered was delicious and crunchy. It also came with classical french fries… at the end, I was very full and satisfied!! It is a good place if you feel very hungry. I would recommend going.. they are well known also for burgers! In terms of prices, the place is quite good and you should spend 45 £ for two people.

After so many recommendation from my friends I decided to go to Burger and Lobster in Mayfair. I was excited to visit this place.
I really did not know that in the menu are only three items: A Burger, A whole lobster, A lobster roll( 20 pounds each).
I choose to order the whole steamed lobster which was with fries, hebs and sauce.
For me it was an interactive meal, a meal and food which I loved!

After reading so many good reviews of Burger & Lobster, O. and I were dying to go check it out. However, warnings of the long waiting queue put us off but one surprisingly sunny Saturday we made our way to Mayfair (if you live in London, any sunny day is huge surprise, even if it’s in June.)
The queue wasn’t so bad when we went at 1:30 pm – we spent a pleasant half an hour chatting at the bar, having a cocktail called the ‘Summer of Love’. Gentle foretelling of the future, I suppose J
Burger & Lobster operates on the simple premise that you can either have a burger or a lobster or (for those who can’t decide) a lobster roll for £20 with a salad and fries on the side. We decided getting a burger wasn’t worth it – it would have to be the lobster – a much better deal.
However, dedicated readers will remember my inept handling of the crab from Wright Brothers and I balked at the thought of dismantling a lobster, however delicious it might be. And it did look good, seeing other tables where people were fishing out delicious lobster bits and dunking them in garlicky butter sauce.
But I opted for the easy way out and chose the lobster roll. Chunks of lobster in light, mayo sauce, cradled in a generously buttered brioche roll.
It was really good but still didn’t match up to the lobster roll I had in New York at Luke’s Lobster in the East Village – where I was transported to joyful oblivion on the first bite. However, given that I am in London and Luke’s Lobster roll is a distant memory, perhaps I should stop waxing on about something I ate in 2010 J
So if you want to get your hands dirty and deconstruct an entire lobster or just simply inhale a lobster roll in one breath like I did, make your way down to Mayfair to the queue outside Burger & Lobster.
The lobster is available for 20 pounds. I'm not sure anything else is value for money here so I've only ever tried the lobster, although I've been to this place many times. I like the Mayfair branch because it is not so crowded as the other outlets so getting a place is a lot easier (although still a challenge!). The lobster is cooked well sometimes and other times, depending on your luck, is not cooked enough. I think some consistency would be good! The chairs are a little too high for my liking, feels like an expensive pub. The drinks are expensive but I'm guessing this is how they get their money back. A better selection of wines would be good, to go down well with the lobster.
Funny concept, 2 choice only between Burger or Lobster, myself I took Lobster and it was no bad, for £20 I don't cry!! Little bit disappointing about the dessert menu (very simple) and the restaurant is quite noisy!
So after an hour's-wait outside we decided to sit by the bar and wait for the table . Very friendly bartenders and very friendly waitress in-spite of the rush there is absolutely no lack of attention to customers ... My top restaurant in 2013 wasn’t just a great meal, or an impressive display of logistics, or a wallet-pleasing exercise in extreme good value. It’s all of these things, but more importantly it’s somewhere that I always take visiting friends, recommend to as many people as ask me about it, and even went so far as to book it for a group on my birthday. Burger & Lobster.
Yes, it’s a chain - there are five of them now, and there will certainly be more. It’s traditionally foodie suicide to lay even mild praise on a chain or proto-chain never mind nominate it for a best of the year award, so this choice is not likely to be uncontroversial. It’s also hardly going to please every section of society - there’s no vegetarian option (unless you really are desperate to spend £20 on chips and green salad), the queues for the more popular branches can be absolutely insane, and they are never likely to be on the PETA Christmas card list.
But every time I go to any of the Burger & Lobsters, I have a really really good time. Every time. I don’t know whether it’s my age, but increasingly I find I’m gravitating towards restaurants that are consistently excellent rather than occasionally sublime, and while “occasionally sublime” makes for good copy, it’s “consistently excellent” that more often sees a chunk of my paycheck. Each time I sit down to that lobster roll, in its sweet brioche bun and gentle fresh dressing, drizzled with lemon-butter and accompanied by a neat little pot of crunchy fries, not to mention a perfectly made martini, I know everything for the next few minutes is going to go exactly to plan. And after all said and done, there’s hardly any greater praise than that.

Burger & Lobster is no longer a novelty on the London restaurant scene, but judging by the crowds that still throng outside waiting for a table, not a trend that is going to die down any time soon.
For anybody not in the know, £20 buys you a Burger, a Lobster Roll or a Half Lobster (Grilled or Steamed). Simples. Post work on a Friday, bracing ourselves for a long queue, we hightail it to Mayfair - tucked away on a side street minutes from Green Park station, we're ushered into a table pretty quickly. To be fair, it's not even 6pm. Eager Beavers we are. One can choose to eat at the bar or on more traditional table/banquette seats.
The simplicity of the menu allows for easy ordering. Jennie has never been before & so we opt to half and half for the optimum trialling experience. One Lobster Roll & One grilled lobster coming up.
There is an extensive drinks menu & the cocktails sublime, but it's hot and instead I opt for a Grapefruit virgin cocktail. Refreshing and a cut above the endless juices/ soft drinks that one is doomed to if going non-alcoholic, it went a long way to brightening up the meal.
There is plenty of Grilled lobster to share - we each secure a pretty large claw and hearty main shell. The Lobster roll is a little smaller, but rich. Hot toasted Brioche Lobster toastie is probably a more apt description than Lobster Roll, but it is stuffed to the gills with lobster meat, ideal for those not willing to get stuck into the messier aspects of Lobster eating.
Chips are hot & crisp, the garlic butter makes for a delicious, if calorific dip/ drizzle. I made some half hearted attempts to eat the salad, but the garlic butter is too good to overlook.
Dessert could not be managed, but similar to the food menu there are only 2 options - something chocolatey and something fruity, but we leave here plenty sated by lobster.
Thanks to our early arrival, we were therefore finished by 7pm and hastened back outside to the sunshine, to be greeted by large queues at the door. 2 other diners were now set to be very happy.
One negative point - The toilets could use a bit of a clean...
Smart concept. The restaurant does not have a menu. It serves 3 things - Grilled/Steamed Lobster, Lobster Roll and Beef Burger. All items are priced at £20. A brief wait and we were seated. Some great creative cocktails with great balance and flavour. We were a table of 3 so we ordered all the three dishes on offer. Enormous portion, great flavours and satisfaction.
The Grilled Lobster was grilled to perfection and had a great salad green to accompany. The lemon butter sauce was out of the world. Lobster rolled had chilled lobster chunks with a sauce stuffed in a brioche..... perfect. The beef was decent but did not have the wow factor.

Although I had to wait a while to get a seat once inside you easily ordered from the three options and the food was served in about 10mins.
I had the lobster at £20 and it was delicious. The garlic sauce that came with it complemented it perfectly.
I will definitly be back for more lobster.
Only problem was the lobster could have had a bit more meat in it. The time it takes to eat it disguises the fact that there be just a bit more. But there is the option for the bigger lobster which i may get next time.
If you haven't been to Burger and Lobster do not worry when the only menu you are provided with is a drinks menu! As there are only 3 options of dishes - at all - someone from the staff will let you know the options - if you didn't Zomato it before! :) It is, now, £20.00 and whatever dish you choose, it comes with chips and salad as side dishes. The three options are incredible - I just feel bad for the poor lobsters, but they are yummy! The portions are of a good size.
Desert is not their speciality, I felt! It is not bad, but nothing particularly delicious!
Nice environment: great music, friendly staff, relaxed! It is close to nice other places to go before or after! Enjoy! :)
Only 3 things on the menu- all £20- burger, lobster, lobster roll. Lobster roll is great (but no better than Hawksmoor's in my opinion) - get one to share as a starter if you're really hungry. NO BOOKINGS
A good restaurant in a 'happening' area of central London! Burger and lobster as a combo was probably not designed to work...but it does, friendly, laid back ambience and a pleasant mixture of the traditional 'burger bar' feel and a slightly more exclusive restaurant, maybe that is just because you are eating lobster though!
Burger and Lobster has a great vibe - really like the way they've done the place inside. Has a very fun New York vibe. The food is also good (not great) but your happy as the whole experience is very enjoyable. Definitely go at least once. The wait is always long so put your name down asap and get a drink at the bar.
What this place lacks in variety, it more than makes it up in quality. In fact if they had changed their name to Burgers, Lobsters and Rolls, they could have even done away with the menu as they just serve these three!
I must say, they do a hellova job at the Lobsters. Lobsters can be ordered either steamed or grilled and they come with salad and chips and a drilling machine for the lobsters! I had gone with a friend who swears by this place and he was ruthless with the lobsters - every single ounce of meat hidden behind bones was extracted and consumed. He said, "The restaurant has taken the effort to fly them from Canada, it's the least we could do to not let their efforts go in vein!" I must say the effort of extracting the meat was more than rewarded by the taste.
Be warned, they do not accept reservations and the restaurant is small compared for its popularity. Expect a queue on busy evenings.
The food here is delicious. If you are looking for some of the best lobster in London, this is the place. Lobster roll is decadent and very rich but amazing and you won't find it anywhere else. I think there are no reservations so I advise getting there early, at lunch it is crazy busy but worth it!

Its tapping on to the latest trend- simple menu with single digit number of dished (3 here- Burger/Lobster and Lobster Roll). All served with chunky chips and dips in a presentable manner.
Lobster is the real deal with full on claws and shebang! You would need a bib.
Lobster Roll is for the take it easy-don't bother-types. The same stuff as above but without the hassle. I would recommend this if your hands are shaky after a few drinks anyway!
Burger- have not tried.
The food is excellent- I mean its hard to find a full Canadian Lobster (they are flown in for these guy daily and if you are wondering how I know this- I do my homework :p) for £20! its a good price. Well cooked and served pretty fast. The location is excellent too...a stones throw from Green Park.
The biggest flip side is the waiting time- both the occasions for me were weekdays and we had to wait at least 40 to 60 mins and NO RESERVATIONS! I would say get your name on the waiting list and then take a sip at the Lamb & Flag pub nearby. I guess they have taken the feedback on board and hence have now expanded to 3/4 locations now.
Food is 4/5. Ambience is Cafe-ish. 3.5/5 and Mind the Queue.

Burger & Lobster is probably the best example of the newly rising concept restaurants popping up all over London. Confused as some of those concepts may be, B&L really know what they are doing! Both the lobster (prepared either in brioche or steamed or grilled with garlic and lemon butter) and the burger are highly recommendable. The great thing is that they don't only focus on the burgers and lobsters, but that their sides are also delicious. The salad is great with croutons and raw red onions and the fries are everything you'd want from some deep-fried potato batons.
I do admit, however, that an evening that was planned to not empty out your wallet that much, might just turn into exactly that. The tempting £20 for all vanishes pretty quickly after their recommended (and delicious) cocktail of the day and bottle of wine.
All in all, still highly recommendable! (The branch in Soho is a lot bigger and you probably have better chances of being seated more quickly there, although the Mayfair branch has a much better atmosphere!)
Do you fancy a lobster but you dont want to spend 50pounds each? Go to Burger and Lobster (yes, they do cook only burgers and lobsters) and get one. The menu is very short, you can choose between having a burger, or a lobster, or both.
I personally recommend taking the lobster, it is good quality for a 20pound lobster, you can choose how to cook it, and the butter sauce it goes with is pure joy.
The restaurant is pretty cozy but noisy as well (we could not hear the waitress speaking), but if you dont mind it can be a lovely place.
Be careful: they do not take reservations aside from big groups of people, so be ready to wait for a little bit! (we went on friday night around 10 pm and we had to wait for 15minutes...)

B&L is very trendy in London at the moment and the queque to get seated reflects it. We went at 8 on a Wednesday night and were told the waiting was more than 1.5 hours. They take your number and call you when your table is available, so you can go and a grab a drink in somewhere in the area instead of waiting outside in the line (we went to the classy Connaught Hotel), but I personally think that it is worth waiting that long, unless you are in great company.
That said, the food choice is quite basic, as the name suggests: burger or lobster, all served with chips and salad with a few possilble options all for £20. You can add cheese and/or bacon to your burger, and can have the lobster steamed, grilled or served in a brioche roll. I chose the latter option and was pleasently satisfied by the brioche, soft and crunchy at the same time, altough the lobster in it was a bit too cold for my taste. The others got their half lobster nicely cracked and served on their plates.
All in all I think it's a nice place to go, but not the great bargain most people believe. With wine and service the bill adds up to more than £30, and I am sure for the same place there are other places when to get a lobster without waiting two hours. But here is nice and trendy, and they do burgers as well, altough I have never seen anybody in his right mind ordering them.
The burger and lobster at Mayfair were absolutely delightful. The cocktails and oysters on the top level were a perfect start to the meal, offering a wonderful combination of flavors and freshness. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the lobster was perfectly cooked. A great dining experience overall!

The food selection is nice - many exciting choices. I had the Beast Burger.
The idea of the burger - kind of “Surf and Turf”-style - with some lobster meat on top of a minced beef patty was an excellent idea. It tasted well, but I found the beef patty to lack taste - lack of salt - and lack of some kind of spices/seasoning. But it was not bad - just a bit neutral in the taste.
Even though I liked the food there are so many other very good restaurants in the area that I would most likely try another one instead of returning.
The location is easily the BEST KEPT SECRET in Mayfair.
Amazingly timed service, friendly atmosphere & even if you dine alone, you feel never feel out of place.
The staff were all in good spirits which is a positive reflection of the strength of the management.

I went there on Friday at lunchtime (12:30-ish).
The service was quick and pleasant. I believe the main waitress who looked after my table was called Karola.
Lobster Roll and fries were delicious! Enjoyed the watermelon martini as well. All served by a my good natured server Rares!
As it was the first time, we went for the combo for TWO. It gives you the opportunity to try everything. The food was great and now if we go back the Roll combo will be the preference. It’s much better then the actual lobster!
I had the pleasure of dining at Burger & Lobster Mayfair during my recent vacation in London, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise! I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I'm so glad I did.
The wagyu burger and seafood plate that I ordered were absolutely delicious, and definitely the best burger I've ever had. The seafood was cooked to perfection and simply amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the dishes to me and ensuring that I had a great experience.
As someone from the Netherlands with a Turkish background, I really appreciated the warm hospitality and delicious food at Burger & Lobster Mayfair. Ever since Misha Zelman had published his mono-product manifest in 2011, I was keen to visit his new concept restaurant in London. He is a true story of a self-made restaurateur. His prior concepts in Moscow and London were always successful.
Only 12 years after I finally made it to Burger & Lobster.
Located in an old pub on Mayfair it has its charm and appeal. Service is great and well above London average.
The menu is true to its concept. One pager with a minimum, but enough options to choose from.
I chose the Roll Combo. Two bestsellers together. Beef burger and famous Lobster roll. I was asked how I wanted my burger to be cooked and the waiter suggested medium. I preferred it medium to rare, but the waiter said the burger is too thin for it, so we settled on medium.
Watermelon cocktail was just splendid option for a non-alco drink. I liked it a lot.
When my dish arrived, I liked its presentation. It comes on a large plate with a lemon garlic butter in the metal saucer.
Lobster roll is an absolute killer. Juicy lobster in a folded perfect brioche toast. I still have this mouth feeling. Side salad was good. Fries were at its best.
When it comes to the burger, well, it just doesn't live up to my expectations. With the Burger being at the front of your name and with all this manifest behind, when Misha was bold enough to charge 20 pounds for its burger, cause he believed it being the best.
Sad, but true is, it's not the best.
Brioche bun is great. It's soft and on a sweet side. Red onions are the best. Pickles, lettuce, tomatoes are just as good. It's the beef burger that I have questions to. The only argument I have, the Combo comes with 5oz and not the 8oz classic burger, which might destroy the balance of it.
It was unbalanced. All the ingredients just didn't come together as they should. The meat was dry and the sauce didn't help. It lacked the concentration and the flavour. The beef was shy among other ingredients.
And that's my biggest disappointment. That's not what I expect the signature dish to be.
Other than that, it was all good.
So it doesn't even make my Top5 burgers.
We had a great time - Karen was so sweet and made our time great - her professional attitude and big smile :)
