The Local. August 2013. The Hereford was convenient as we were staying at the Citadines down the road.
The food tasted as if it had been prepared on site. Many diners were having fish and chips. I choose a special - a salad with chickpeas and haloumi. The dessert was the winner - a chocolate tart. They make a mighty fine Pimms.
Nice pub. Looks to be independent and not part of some huge chain. Big crowd both inside and out. I had the pie of the day a chicken with mushrooms. Loved it. Claim is that all food hand made and this certainly had the look and taste of freshly made pie. Mashed potatoes were ok and I wasn't a fan if the greens. The desert was the Hereford mesh. Great taste in the cream with very nice strawberries on top. Service was good. If you are looking for a pub this is a good stop.
Mothers day. I want to thank all the staff for making it a special day for me and for all my family. they were friendly, helpful and the food ws great. hope to see you all soon.
On Sunday I experienced my first Sunday Roast Lamb lunch in England at the Heresford Arms, South Kensington - equipped with Yorkshire puddings, yum…
no hustle and bustle of the central, traditional pub meals and nicely arranged seats just around the corner with heaters for cold weather, no need to stand around in clusters ( if you are not a fan of such a mingling)
this pub dates back to the 1700's and it has been rumoured that it was one of the drinking holes of Jack the Ripper. did not try the fish and chips, I am not that much of a fan of the dish, but the shepherds pie was quite tasty. I just happen to like the appearance in the front, everytime I pass by it is so welcoming- makes me take a long break with friends.
This is a rather classic pub, not much of the craft beer discoveries or eclectic decor. Goes for the ones with a habit of finding their favourite place around and sticking to it, having chats with the staff and bringing newbies to the "place".
Traditional British grub. Â Fish and chips are best I've ever had - fresh London Pride battered cod, served with true French Fries, mashed greed peas, and Tartar sauce. Â However the side of seasonal greens was underwhelming. Â Also, over a dozen names on tap not to disappoint a demanding customer. Â Plus, a decent selection of wines. Â Can't beat the London pub atmosphere despite occasional tourists.
Fish and chips were too oily. Other dishes' portion sizes were too small for my taste, had to go out and eat again someplace else.
Aside from that it has an excellent atmosphere, loved the decor and it's a good place to go have a drink in, will be coming back for pints.

I should say it's a very nice place and definitely far better than a Pub 😂, so I don't want to call it a pub. The food menu is very good. I went there for a quick working meal on a rainy day. They served me fast and no fuss that I don't order any beers or drinks. I only wish if the food was bit warm, possibly hard act with the cool climate. I ordered the special of the day lamb it was amazing. Hats off the the staff and well done and keep up. I loved it.
Our second visit to our friends local; The Hereford Arms. The reason for the second visit was the exceptional quality of the food and fantastic atmosphere from our first visit. Full of locals (Chelsea were playing and it was match day but was neither rowdy nor boisterous)
Eight of us dinner for lunch and dishes ranged from Sunday roasts with the usual meat suspects. Decent selection of drinks and good food selection.
Service was friendly and attentive although every so slightly slow. This could be excused due to high volume of people. This place was packed on a glorious Sunday afternoon. We will of course be returning.

Liked it so much I came for lunch two days in a row. Great atmosphere, delicious food and attentive service (they even surprised my friend who had a cold with a warm cup of tea with honey, on the house). Fish & chips to die for, excellent chicken roast and desserts - especially the chocolate marquise. Will be coming more often.
After a day of museum visits, this was a welcome respite. A quick Google search presented the Hereford Arms as a highly rated option and worth the light stroll! The atmosphere, service, and food were excellent!
In the midst of South Kensington, this pub services a lot of the hotels in the area. Despite that dubious honor, this is not a tourist trap featuring overpriced and uninspired fare. I’m not an expert on fish and chips, but I know good food, and the fish and chips here are about as tasty as you can imagine. A London local might know better, but I’d be surprised to find it. The batter is flaky and crispy and the fish fills the plate. If you’re looking for a dish that wears the the fish and chips badge honorably, I imagine there are few better options. There are also numerous traditional English pub dishes here to try and if I’d had more time, I’d be eager to try them. The beer is excellent as well! Highly recommended if you’re in the area.
Busy pub with decent food and good drinks.
Party of 3 needed reservation. Saw people being turned away as the evening rolled and the pub filled (7pm Tuesday).
Adequate selection of starters, mains and dessert. By the time we had seated some starters and mains had sold out. Additional dishes of the day were listed on boards.
Food was fresh and balanced, individual elements coming together in well thought flavour compositions.
Pork belly was adequate, but skin / crackling was not crisp. A chewy demerit to otherwise fine food.
Drinks are better than the meals, with cocktails particularly outstanding.
Bar staff were tentative and managed the busy clients well. Noisy and lively atmosphere but good to meet friends.
This was a first time visit- and the first place we stopped to eat after a long flight to arrive in London! Let’s just say, it was so good we ate here the last night in London as well, just really like the vibe-atmosphere etc.
Maybe the most delicious food I have ever eaten in England! And also a very kind service! It is a pity, that not possible to give more stars!Tomorrow we will go again! 🙂
Loved this place! Stopped in for a quick bite after a day of exploring and the food was delicious! Their Farm Beef burger had a yummy sauce that made it so much better! And their ice cream sundae was so creamy and good!
