I had a good experience here. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is decent without being spectacular. Especially recommend the Dhaka Murphy!

Me and my hubby went Empress we where greeted at the door and taken to table of our choice 🙏🏼 all the the workers greeted us while we where setter ☺️ we where then given the choice to order drinks when where ready and staff asked if we would like poppadom and how many we the orders starter while we ate poppadoms with different sources and sides that where provided.. Starter was presented very well it's the first time I've ever seen well presented food in a Indian/Bengali restaurant which I was very pleased with 🙈 when then ordered our main while eating our started ❤️ the main was very tasty with all the flavour on point with each bite ❤️ the only down side was the curry where a little hot but that was our fault for not asking for the spice not to be less then what it says it will be .. The staffs where very friendly and checked on us frequently and communicated about different topics which was very nice of them 🙊 over we had an amazing experience at empress and it's a must for people wanting to eat Indian/Bengali food ❤️

Simply put, one of the best Indian meals I've ever had. Food was beautiful. Staff were friendly and attentive. Well priced also. Having eaten in many Indian restaurants in Glasgow, I'm afraid to say that the London Docklands have really set the bat high!

This place was right down the street from my hostel and it is by far the BEST Indian food I've ever had. If I am ever in London again I will make a stop especially for this place. Wonderful friendly service as well. This might just be my death row meal. Go here! PS I have attached a photo but I unfortunately forget the name of the dish. It was spicy and incredible

Stopped in while visiting London from America. We wanted to get some curry while we were here because we had heard it's done really well in the UK. We were not disappointed. The Empress is a small but excellent place. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. We enjoyed everything we had. We would certainly return!

Amazing food and amazing service couldn’t ask for a better local restaurant. I was so pleased with the food I had the crab cox which is a soft shell crab it was amazing. My friends had items consisting of Biryani, tandoori and some vegetarian dishes everyone loved what they had. The naan bread is the best I have ever had. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Celebrating every birthday here from now on!

It was my first day in London, and we decided to go to this restaurant, and it was the best first day in London ever. The employee made my first day really special and the workers are so nice ~~ It has brilliant food, the chicken and lamb curry is the best I've ever tasted. Tanduri chicken and the lamb tikka was soft and tender, perfect for your dinner ~~ Biscuits with mango and another sauce, plus some spicy sauce and onion thingy was also served, and they tasted absolutely fantastic. The workers are fun to talk to and even offered to pack the leftover food (which we sadly counldn't because we are staying at a hostel). This is definitely a restaurant I would recommend, with the best workers and the best food. Make sure to drop your way in on your trip to London ~~ and give it a five star rating ~~ - Chelsea fan :) 💙

I made sure I stopped by an Indian restaurant during melt 3 day stay in London. I am so glad I came here! This was a restaurant located conveniently a block away from the hostel that I was staying at. We came in about two hours before they closed and they accommodated my large group of seven right away. We went off of recommendations from the waiter and all of us really enjoyed our meal. The food was authentic and delicious. I was recommended to get the Chicken Bhuna. It was tender and juicy with a great tomato sauce that wasn’t too acidic or salty. I didn’t see the paneer on the menu but after I asked the waiter added it in. I highly highly recommend the combo of the paneer and chicken bhuna. I want to commend the staff who was so attentive and sweet. We really appreciated the hospitality!

This was the best food we had in London including a dinner that we spent over $200 on. I have no idea how this place has a lower rating than the Indian restaurant next door to it as we tried both. There is no comparison. Too bad this is our last day in London or else we would be back.

In the past I must have eaten at hundreds of different Indian restaurants, in many countries, but none of these compares to the Empress for consistent quality and welcoming ambiance. It has now become my regular Indian. It's conveniently situated in Leman Street, near Aldgate, not far from buses and tubes. The quality of the dishes is amazing. On my last visit I had my standard dish, chicken Vindaloo with peas pilau and keema naan. The balance of the spices in the Vindaloo was perfect. Just the right heat and full of flavour. Portions were big too. Quite simply my best Vindaloo ever. I'm working my way through the wide -ranging menu, and so far every dish has been spot -on. Babu and his staff are helpful, friendly and create a convivial family atmosphere. Babu in particular loves to welcome and chat with all his guests and makes everyone feel special. And where else can you sample an Indian shepherd's pie, which is even better that its British counterpart? Vegan version too. Highly recommend. Six stars******

Everyone knows the best Indian food on the planet is in the UK, and as an American foodie who has lived in the UK for nearly 25 years and in India for a few years as well, I can assure you that this Bangladeshi restaurant on Leman Street is the best you will find anywhere. Fantastic food and excellent personal service. I’ve been here many times and will keep coming back!

Amazing food as always. I've been coming at least once a month since I discovered them back in 2016. I am so happy they managed to survive after the lock down. To me, their king prawn sizzler is a must. Also the lamb shank with chickpeas is a winner (that's what I ordered tonight, as shown in the photo). I hope the place remains authentic and loyal to their beliefs. Better times will come from now on, just hang in there and keep the good job.
