We were looking for an easy pub meal in this area before going to a show. This was a good choice- very welcoming and efficient service. Lots of locals enjoying the sunny afternoon on the terrace. My fish and chips was delicious and the House wine surprisingly good. My partner enjoyed his beef pie too.

Popped for a couple of drinks as I was at an event around the corner. Found this on Google pubs near me. Very traditional london old school boozer. Great selection of beers and ales and home cooked food. Good for a sports bar, I guess, as all the World Cup Flags hanging up. Bar lady is polite and courteous, and this is hard to find these days. Home cooked food is available too. Big patio garden out back also. Great pint of Morretti.

Absolutely amazing food!! Fantastic service, and what a great atmosphere! The kids ate everything until they were exploding at the seems, and they still went for more! The sticky toffee pudding was demolished so quick I barely got time to take a photo. Bar team made a lovely orange and lemonade substitute for my boys Fanta which they completely enjoyed, and the range of beer, cider and the strawberry gin... I'm running out of adjectives to explain how delicious it all is!!! We will be back again before we leave town!!!!

Really awesome pub. We visited London for a holiday and had a hotel near "The Monkey Puzzle". We went there three times and had a great time with really delicious food, good drinks and playing card games all evening. The Staff was really friendly and tried her best to keep us happy. When visiting London again, we will try to come back here.

Fully enjoyed a sort of well neat pub atmosphere. The price of the drinks and foods were quite reasonable comparing with other Main Street. Well recognized pub in Paddington area

Best wings I've ever had in any pub, no comparison. Buttermilk makes the difference, moist, tasty, and fall off the bone delicious. English ale was a delightful experience and I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed, BOTH pints!! I make excuses to go through Paddington just so I can swing by Monkey Puzzle for the wings.

One of the best services we have experienced in any pub. The staff could not have been more accommodating & served with a smile. ☺️Great friendly atmosphere, we will definitely be back. I enjoyed my chicken burger 👍

A very traditional pub located in a modern building doing an excellent job of selling beer to the thirsty! Sedate and tranquil, The Monkey Puzzle (named after the tree?) in Paddington is a great pub, thank you for being there. 🙃

The Monkey Puzzle Pub in Sussex Gardens, London (U.K.) is a beloved and well-regarded establishment. With a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, represented by Darren, Alice and their team, always welcoming and serving everyone with a warm smile. With a great selection of beers and ales, the pub is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. During Winters, I always feel thirsty for Frusty Ferret Amber Ale, as an instant Winter Warmer drink (my favourite and a rare Amber Ale, not commonly available in ordinary Pubs around London). During Summers I opt for a Cold and refreshing Lager Beer, from their wide selection of lagers. The food is delicious, with the Sunday Roast being a particular standout. The pub's location near Paddington Station makes it easily accessible, and the nearby Bed & Breakfast options make it a convenient destination for travellers from around the world. Making the Pub a “True Global Melting Pot of Multi-Cultures”. The pub holds special memories for the writer, who has been a regular customer for decades and has shared many fond times with friends there. The owner, Gary, is described as being modest and humble, and is known to personally serve guests and tend to the pub himself. If ever he spots anyone among our group with a grumpy face, he joins in with his great sense of humour, makes us all change our moods with smiles and laughter. The writer wishes the pub continued success in the future © Ash-Cash and Ash & Karen

We were quickly seated, given menus, and told to order at the bar when we were ready. The bartender heard our American accents and asked if we wanted to try a little of one of the English ales before we committed to it. That was much appreciated as it was our first time trying them. It was great! We then ordered two different types of ale and enjoyed both of them. For our actual dinner we got the beef and mushroom pie and the buttermilk chicken burger. There was a little mixup on the burger, but the staff was very polite and quickly fixed the order. Both dishes were delicious! Friendly staff, great food, great atmosphere.

We visited The Monkey Puzzle on a busy Friday night but we were very warmly welcomed and looked after. The food and drinks were very good. We returned the following Saturday night and were welcomed as old friends. We where overwhelmed by the British hospitality. Many thanks and best regards.

A fantastic little pub a little way out from the hustle and bustle of central London. A short walk from Paddington station this is a great place to have a quiet drink before or after a train journey a bit further away from the more packed places close by. There is a great amount of seating indoors and outdoors and the prices are very reasonable for a London pub.

Nice local pub, very friendly service. Easy to connect with local customers who recognize you the next day. Not a tourist trap at all. Good beer, great pub food. Excellent relaxed atmosphere. I can recommend the cookie dough and ice dessert.

Relaxed pub with great old-school decor. Beer garden is nice - has both shade and sun depending on what you prefer, and prices are decent for the area. There was a nice ambience, and staff were friendly. Can recommend!

This place is gorgeous!!! My partner and I came here for dinner before a show in city centre; we had seen The Monkey Puzzle from our hotel across the road and decided to try it. I was lucky enough to secure a table on a Saturday night when I rang only a few hours earlier, and spoke to a very friendly staff member. The interior is very cosy and looked beautiful with all of the Christmas garlands and lights. The blonde lady who served us was so lovely, and we instantly felt comfortable and welcome. Food was delicious, portions generous…overall great value and a fab experience! I would highly recommend The Monkey Puzzle if you’re in this part of London!

Great little pub! I was here recently and this became my "go-to" pub while I was in town. Gary, Alice, and the entire staff are so lovely. They made me feel so welcomed and I had the best time in this pub. They have a great beer selection too! I can't wait to come back :)
