This was my first time here - but I know I want to go back already!
I went for dinner with some friends on a Thursday evening and we turned up at 8pm and the place was full. They took our number and we retired across the road to Wahaca for a margarita whilst we waited. We finally got seated about 20 minutes later.
My friend Tiva knew of a deal to get us free beers with every meal over £10, so we all decided to try the chateaux steak paired with the amber ale, as recommended by our waiter.
The steak was amazing - great flavour, lovely and tender, with a good tasty char on the outside, but yet still cooked rare to perfection. The steak was £15 and is served on a wooden board, looks good, but maybe not as good as a warm plate!
We ordered some broccoli and chips to share and both the sauces, chimichurri and the truffle Bearnaise. The broccoli was also charred slightly, the chips wonderful, crispy and fluffy in the midde.
I loved the truffle Bearnaise sauce - and whilst the chimichurri is traditional Argentine accompaniment for steak, the herb and garlic sauce was a little overpowering and it definitely lingers!
They get their steak from Swaledale in Yorkshire and it was one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Still I want to go back to try some of the other items on the menu, so a return visit is definitely in order!
Very attentive and friendly service. Food was great and prices were reasonable. The sausage rolls have very unique taste infused with herbs. They were better than any sausage roll I've ever had.
The set lunch deal I got was 200g hanger steak with a side (choose from thick cut chips, skinny fries and salad). Also, the tomato sauce tasted like a homemade one, very rich in tomato flavour and not too sweet as well.
Salty beef sandwich was a surprise, too. The beef wasn't overly salty like others I've tried. There's a good balance between the pickled cabbage, cheese and mustard sauce.
The dinning environment was very relaxed, not a fancy go-to steak place at all. I will happily come back another time.
Fantastic restaurant, one that I have wanted to go for a very long time. Came down with a couple of friends and the restaurant was great. Had a sirloin steak with chunky chips together with a octopus salad and croquette balls, which was lovely and delicious. The atmosphere was really good, quite lively and trendy. The restaurant was clean, nice and well maintained. Also the staff was brilliant and kind. Would like to come back in the future again.
This is one of the best value for money brunches I've ever had! Bottomless prosecco or bloody Mary's for 2 hours for £15 and the did was amazing. Took my dad here for a great brunch.
Good food at good prices. We tried the flat iron and sirloin, as well as several starters/sides. Good range of beer too, which clearly has been properly selected IMO. Near the tube station so easy to reach from Northern line.
Really good meat and potatoes! Wonderful! The waiter didn’t know you could book a table via Google Maps, which is what we did, but we had no problem finding a table (it was a Wednesday though)
The steak is a decent, the veg was flavourful and the chips were spot on. Service was also good.
Nice meat great French fries, gnocchi was a bit heavy. Friendly staff cozy environment . Worth a try if in the area
Best burger tasted in a along time. They are using beer cheese which makes it kind of special. Side dish Poutine. Lovely cheese. At a first glance I thought it was a small portion, but I bearly finished it. The staff was very nice and we had a fun talk. Relaxed Ambiance.
I really like the sauce and the steaks seasoning but we didn’t get a nice cut of the steak causing the steak to be too chewy. Service is great though 😊
Such a cute little restaurant! The steaks are delicious and the prices are reasonable.
