the number one rule for securing an invite at I.O. is to never ask for one. But once you’re in, sit back and enjoy the theatrical performance by Quinn and his team at this ultra-intimate, 17-seat restaurant

The Nightjar is a throwback jazz bar with cocktails representing different times in history, like the prohibition years until 1932, and they take their cocktails seriously. Although a person not used to drinking cocktails (choosing a beer takes half the time, and I am lazy like that), we had some interesting ones. The first, shared between 5 of us, came in an owl pitcher. The glasses were full to the brim with ice, olives, Yorkshire tea and some aromatic herbs. All the ensemble makes for a unique combination of flavours and, added the presentation of an owl shaped bronze pitcher, is something that will stick. I don't know the name or exactly what was in that pitcher, but i am sure I will have to trouble ordering it again. After that I had a Charlie Chaplin, a berry-infused gin one, that is sweet and enjoyable but, like any cocktail anywhere, I feel is a bit too overpriced for what you get volume wise. Moving from the drinks to venue, the bar is gorgeous, having been decorated in a not over the top but definitely pleasant way. And when you have live jazz being played, can't really ask for more to kick your feet up and enjoy the moment. Honourable mention to the staff who are friendly almost to a fault. A true pleasure to be a guest and patron at their home.

There's a reason Nightjar is the 3rd best bar in the world. The stunning shareable drinks are works of art and are great value for money. The speakeasy vibe and live jazzy music allow for an intimate and memorable evening!

For me it's one of the best bars in the world. Their ingredients are from around the world, alcohol is from around the world, service is out of this world. Make sure you make reservations coz just landing up would not help you much, especially the weekends which are sold out 2 months in prior. The menu is too much to handle. No service at the bar...see you on your table. Cheers!

Fantastic atmosphere and exciting, original cocktails which are all delicious. They're not cheap, but for the quality, and given it's London, they're not taking the piss either. My favourite cocktail spot in London so far, it's my to-do for a treat.

Went in close to closing time. Cocktails were very tasty although service left a lot to be desired. It was clear they were starting to close down but if they were not prepared to serve they shouldn't have let us in. Took a while for us to be served and then drinks arrived at different times. 10 mins between first and last! Having won an award for 2nd best bar in the world, I expected a LOT more than I experienced. Would probably try again, but not at the top of the list of places to visit!

I loved this speakeasy bar. Concept of cocktails is interesting and entertaining. They could try being a little more generous with the food menu and portion size but no complaints on the taste. We missed fish on the menu but that was just bad luck. The Rosemary cashews may be avoided, you can buy these at a nearby Sainsbury for 1/3rd the price.

Every single thing I've ever had in Nightjar was just inexplicable. They were simply unexpected and amazing. I've been there 3 times already and I still couldn't finish everything in that huge menu. Make sure to make reservation way beforehand since they are normally fully booked.

Voted one of the best bars in the world by Drinks International and second best bar in London just behind Artesian at The Langham Hotel. Nightjar is a basement bar located at trendy Shoreditch with great live jazz/ blues and all kinds of old school classic. Cocktails here are highly creative with beautiful garnish, every drink here is like a piece of art and the cocktail's taste is as good as it looks. A destination for cocktail and music lovers.

Nightjar is something I was lucky to have been to, courtesy our friend Lama. Very close to Old street tube and bus station, Nightjar is something I would have never stepped into unless someone pushed me to as I literally have hated cocktails until now.

Nightjar is very easy to miss as there are no loud banners and branding to guide you to this basement speakeasy style setting with soothing jazz music that allows room for conversation.

You start looking through the menu and you suddenly realize that whether you like it or not, any drink here is bound to get you tipsy just by the way they present their drinks.

What did we order?

As the menu is divided into several eras in which the drinks seemed to have originated, I like the smirk on everyone's faces when the page turns to Prohibition. Sounds evil doesn't it?

Barrel Aged Zombie: Well this isn't just an another drink, it comes in a really cool barrel shaped mug and is topped by a cake soaked in rum and melting chocolate. One bite and you slip into alcohol coma, its yummy yet intoxicating. The drinking only begins after a super fire show on top of the hot ginger bread and chocolate to set the mood right!

Marmalade No.2: The server warned me that this might be a little too sweet for liking and I agree with her now.

London Mule: A really smooth drink showered with mint leaves on top that accompany the taste bit by bit. We all loved this

24 Volt Cobbler: This was good too and brilliantly showcased with a chocolate spoon and berry on top. Picture attached does the talking!

Nightjar TI punch: Well, the moment the sharing cocktail arrived on our table, everyone sitting around us couldnt take their eyes of the presentation. A steaming copper tea-pot with a tap. Brilliant and strong!

Wish I could remember the names of the other drinks we had too. But in summary a great experience that pulled us back twice. The staff is really polite and takes the pain to explain the minute details to everyone.

A special thanks to the man taking care of the security outside of this establishment who kept our spirits high even in waiting :)

Best of luck to the Nightjar team!

There are a lot of incredible cocktail bars in London but I think I've found the best. A stone's throw away from Old Street roundabout, you'll find a large wooden door between two nondescript cafes - blink and you'll miss it if you don't look out for the small gold plaque with an etched black bird.

Once in and downstairs, you'll find yourselves in a prohibition, speakeasy bar adorned with trinkets and objets just dying to be investigated. Dimly lit nooks and crannies are great for cosying up in while the booths at the back are perfect for four and give you an ideal view of the live blues band. The bar itself is wooden with an impressive array of bottles behind it but it's the barmen who really bring the magic to life here.

The cocktails are divided into five areas - pre-Prohibition (1880-1918), Prohibition (1918-1932), Post-War (1932-now), Nightjar signatures and those great for sharing, but you'll barely notice these divisions as you'll be captivated by the concoctions themselves.

Now, between four of us we managed to get through a staggering 30 different cocktails. Perhaps not the most responsible of activities but all in the name of research, I'm sure you'll agree? I was in the market for dessert-like drinks rather than my usual whisky based wonders and I wasn't disappointed as two of my choices were amongst my favourites...

The others ordered from the fantastical menus and received teacups of booze with chocolate covered bacon, concoctions served in baobab roots, martini glasses with edible seaweed, chocolate spoons and ceramic jars topped with a flaming absinthe-soaked sponge. Every single thing we ordered came out with the most impeccable presentation and differed from the one before. We shared a Rochester Press that came steaming in two french presses and a Rosedale Punch served in a large metal owl. This place kept the surprises coming thick and fast.

We sipped and supped whilst the band played on and I felt transported back to a time where moonshine bootleggers wouldn't have felt out of place. I've been light on details as Nightjar is simply magical and I urge you to join in the experience yourself.

Small speakeasy bar that you would just walk past going up/down
City Road - definitely book in advance and note that you may per person for the
live jazz some evenings. Cocktails are around £11 and are definitely rather
quirky. Loved the venue but the cocktails were not quite right for me. Definitely
one to try though.

Theatrical cocktails. A discreet entrance leads to an elegant and dimly lit basement bar. Quite a bit of cocktail history research was needed to elaborate the extensive menu. Each drink is meticulously prepared with a creative and original presentation. The cocktails are extremely tasteful. A seat overlooking the bar is priceless: you'll wish you could be a talented bartender like these gents.

Fantastic selection of drinks and a great atmosphere to boot! One of those places to go to if you're not too fond of loud music interrupting those deep and intimate conversations with friends. The drinks are split by era and the staff are helpful to the extent of doing taste profiles - they know their stuff and it shows!

Jazz nights are good for when the need arises, a very relaxing yet vibrant speakeasy.

A truly great place if you like to have a good drink. Went with a friend on a Thursday night, the place was fully filled, but they managed to find a little table for us. The bar was heavily dominated with couples, and the atmosphere suited them. There was live music (not the annoying type, just one guy with a guitar in the back), and the lights were dim. We ordered two Little Ententes and those were delicious! As we waited for the drink a little while longer, we got a complementary two glasses of prosecco, which we thought was a very nice gesture as we haven't even complained. At the end of the night the waiter brought over a deck of cards for each of us, along with our bill, another present to make up for the time we waited. I will definitely be coming back here to taste more of their delicious drinks!

Been here a handful of times and everything each time has been wonderful. The drinks are fantastically presented and not because the drinks themselves are no good: they normally taste even better than they look! It's laidback, cosy and atmospheric whilst making sure the service is sharp and informative. The food they have is delicious too... Very good quality meats and cheeses. Lovely touch with the popcorn and melon infused water they give you when you arrive.

If there is anything negative I would say about the place, it's the size of the tables. I've actually eaten pizzas bigger than the tables in the main area. I always like to have something to eat there, which normally involves me having to ask the table next to us if we can put our water and popcorn on their table. That would be the only downfall. Other than that, belissomo.

My friend and I visited here on Saturday before going out for dinner. All day on Saturday they have a 2-4-1 offer on cocktails, which we thought was a great deal. I had a Cuban Zombie, and my friend had a Pornstar Martini. Watching the barman make the cocktails was a spectacle, lots of different alcohols in good measures and lovely fresh juices made as my friend said, "The best cocktail I have ever had". The cocktails tasted beautiful, and there was plenty of alcohol in them! The bar itself is immaculate having only opened recently. The inside is very stylish design with plenty of seating or standing space, we loved the light up ceiling above the dance floor. The toilets were immaculately clean, with “The White Company” soap - a nice touch! We will definitely be visiting here again, in fact we can’t wait to come back!

This tiny secret is hidden next door to a chicken shop. You go trough the single black door, downstairs to a 1920s Jazz bar. The live music is a great highlight - the cocktails are pricy but worth it and the bar food is tasty too. The tables are pretty small and jammed close together. This was a date night venue and a great choice. Book ahead for sure and ask for a table with a view of the band.

Nightjar is unlike any other bar I've ever been too and I'm not the first to say that, let me explain why......based in Shoreditch but more like Finsbury Nightjar has a inconspicuous entry point that my friends I only found from the large queue waiting to get in (always a good sign).

We was greeted by what I have to say is the nicest front door man I have ever meet, apologising for the slow entry after about 15 mins of waiting we was allowed in and followed the stairs down to a dimly lit basement abode that transports you to a jazz night in the 30s or 40s.

Instantly seated by friendly staff, the list of cocktails was both extensive and unique not only in ingredients but in amazing presentation, whether it be literal fiery displays of cocktails poured into ur glass or cocktails in massive hat....yes a massive hat!

If you get there before 10pm you'll have live jazz music that suits the mood and vibe of the bar.

Nightjar is simply a really cool place to sit and enjoy drinks and have a catch up with your friends. Also everyone else there is simply there to have a good time, so no adolescents in sight!

Surely the best bar in East London? Nightjar is one of the finest of the many speakeasy's you'll find in London. Forgive yourself for not being able to find it, the entrance to the bar marked by a small gold plaque embossed with the nightjar itself.

This subtle entrance is in stark comparison to the high energy feel the place has downstairs. Dimly lit prohibition style bar serving contemporary experimental cocktails. It's an exciting place, boogie woogie played from a real live joanna... that kind of place.

There is a focus on quality with the mixology here, the cocktails are well mixed with care and attention, often served with flamboyance. Cocktails come in all shapes and sizes, some as big as your hat, in fact bigger. A large silver top hat presented to us with all sorts of fireworks and straw arrangements arrived at the table and that large top hat tasted real good and real strong.

Highly recommended. Probably book a table, its a hotspot on a night out.

An hidden gem at few steps from Old Street tube station, the Night Jar is a special place for cocktail lovers and jazz music fans. The staff are super friendly, and we were recommending the best cocktails. Very impressed by the way they serve their signature cocktails, and the taste are as great as they look. Despite London never experienced the restrictions of the American Prohibition era, Night Jar is one of the most visited and vibrant speakeasy-inspired bars in the city. It is a shame I forgot the name my favorite drinks however I add a photo of it maybe it will help you to choose :)

The only thing; if you want to have a table when the perfect live jazz music gets going, especially Friday and Saturday nights you should book in advance - sometimes weeks.

This one has to be our favourite. From the waiters’ uniform and live swing music to the décor, this speakeasy isn’t messing around with its prohibition theme –and as cool as the place looks, it’s got nothing on its cocktails. Drinks (around £10 each) are absolutely delicious and all include some obscure ingredient like squid ink, absinthe jelly, alligator pepper infusion or bee pollen syrup.

Book ahead though as drop-ins are usually awkwardly turned down (we speak from experience).

Prohibition/ Live Jazz/ Flapper Dresses/ Men in Suspenders/ Quirky Cocktails – If any of these terms sound vaguely familiar or attractive to you then Night Jar is one bar in London you definitely should pay a visit. It is literally like time travel but without any science involved in it, the only thing you need to do is get yourself a tube to old street roundabout (if you don’t live near there). This place is so ‘cool’ that they don’t even have a sign outside, it literally is a small door in the middle of the hustle bustle of old street shops/ take away’s. You get there and knock on the door (like you were going to visit your friend’s flat) and then you are greeted by a gentleman/ woman (dressed like they belong to the 1920’s) escorting you to the basement.

Once you reach the basement you are taken to a different world all together – you find yourself in a dimly-lit, mysterious speak easy of the 1920s, complete with bartenders wearing suspenders and newsboy caps, curious glass bottles on the various bookshelves lining each wall, and a wooden stage on which a four-piece jazz band was playing their hearts out. Thank god I made an effort to put on a nice dress and some pearls otherwise I would have felt ridiculously under dressed (If you are ever in a mood to dress up, this is where you should go). I made up for my modernism later on by using my cocktail props as hair decoration (see photo above).

There was a live jazz band blasting music and they were mighty good – I took to the dance floor with my friends after I had a couple of those funky looking bad boys (cocktails). I was pining to show off my dancing skills, always wanted to dance to live jazz just like they do in the movies – think Great Gatsby. Coming to the cocktails – they were super fun, decorative (oyster shells, Japanese fans, tumblers, glass coated with cinnamon and chocolate, polo’s pretty much all sorts of weird things) and very very strong. See the photos. Oh you need to make sure you have a reservation – yes you need it! That’s how they rolled in the 1920’s!

Nightjar has been on The List for a long time, and Sister Em has just moved up to Hoxton so I booked us in for some pre-dinner drinks at 18.30. Early evening slots are quite easy to come by, but if you want to have a table later on (when the live jazz gets going) you need to book way in advance - I'm talking a month or two here.

Nightjar is tucked away inbetween various unsavoury looking kebab shops and cafés just off the Old Street roundabout. You may have unknowingly walked past it during the day, but it is pretty obvious at night due to the queue and sore thumb doorman (Opium and Ballroom du Beef are also guilty of this hidden bar crime). You instantly forget what neighbourhood you are in once you make it downstairs. We were shown to a cosy table opposite the piano, which would have been ideal if it had been a little later on. The background jazz was already much better than most bars manage. We were brought the now customary jug of bizarre flavoured water (cucumber, apple, Miles Davis' sweat etc etc) with some free popcorn to keep us happy whilst we tried to make the tough first cocktail decision.

The menu is split into Pre-Prohibition (1600-1918 - what happened in 1600?), Prohibition (1918-1932), Post War (1940-2000) and Nightjar Signatures. There is also a Unique to Nightjar section which includes vintage liqueurs and spirits, an absinthe collection and all sorts of special gifts including the superb Nightjar pack of cards (see below) which I caved and bought. Head bartender Marian Beke has travelled all over the world to source unheard of ingredients and garnishes, hence the need for a glossary at the back.

We were strongly advised to go for a crazy sharing cocktail with dry ice, but we steered clear since all the drinks are beautifully presented anyway. We started with two Waldorf Gloom Lifters (served in Hip Flasks on ice), a Cold Buttered Rum (with a hot coconut butter float slowly infusing into the drink, and a dehydrated lime) and a Coffee & Cacao Soda (for a drugged up member of our party). Al and I struggled to balance our hip flasks, which did actually fall and spill a couple of times before we just put them on the table. It was a very boozy drink, which never seemed to run out.

Our next round included a Shrubbler, a Nougat Cocktail and a Rodrgiuez Sour. Al's Shrubbler came with an edible fruit basket (think creme brulee topping) containing his five a day. Jo's Nougat Cocktail came with lightly singed white chocolate, and a liquid chocolate pot on top. We had a taster of the very drinkable Ysabel Regina brandy that was used to make it. My Rodriguez Sour had a paprika coated rim and a mysterious chocolate coated fruit dangling over the top of it. As you can see from some of the cards below (which are slightly out of date), they really don't hold back on the presentation. The drinks aren't just for show though, and they tasted as good as they looked. Nightjar is quite comfortably one of London's best cocktail bars, and I think I would have to dedicate a whole evening (and a fair amount of cash) to it next time. Book now!

The cocktails made at The Nightjar are truly a work of art, often with garnishes that are practically a meal of themselves.

The menu is divided by era, with Prohibition being the turning points, as it's a speakeasy bar that comes with a heavy dose of jazz several nights a week. So you can choose from pre-prohibition, during, after, or their signature cocktails.

I started with a 24 Volt Cobbler, which turned out to be my favourite of the night featuring chocolate and maple syrup flavours and yet still managing not to be too sweet.

My next drink was the Toreador, which was nice, but it did just remind me of a Margarita. I was back on form with my last drink though - the Airmail featuring orange blossom honey water and champagne, and Alison's last cocktail was a rival to my first, with prune and belgian truffle liqueur offset by Caribbean spices.

Night jar is just amazing. It has to be the best cocktail place in London I have ever been to. The selection of cocktails is extensive to say the least, they are top class to taste and presentation is great as well.

We had booked a table with the music - live band. The music is very appropriate to the set up of the place, giving the real feel of a speak easy.

The only criticism I have of the place is how hard it is to get a reservation on Friday or Saturday night

"The most Amazing cocktails I have ever had" That what my girlfriend told me we came out of the bar, still trying to recreate them at home.

Me, I really enjoy the atmosphere, they have great drinks menu, and decent selection of music both times I have visited, It's a great place for couples or an intimate group of close friends.
I really recommend this bar

What a place !
This bar is just amazing !
It's located just at 2 minutes walking from the Old Street tube station.
The atmosphere reminds you a mix between the old Al Capone's movies and the Mad Men TV show. You have the sensation to make a time travel 50 years ago.
Moreover the Cocktails looks great and taste delicious !
You have also a large range of bottled Beers and Ciders.
The staff is really nice don't hesitate to advise you in your choices : Really professional and kind.

Definitely the best place I ever been since I'm in London.
(and perfect for a date)

Some nights they are Jazz band playing. Those nights don't forget to make a reservation.

Hidden between two cafes on City Road, this is a hidden slice of old-school glamour on the fringes of Shoreditch. After having tested many speakeasy bars - because I love this concept - I can assure that this is by far the best of all. Indeed, nothing has been left behind: the entrance is top top secret, the selection of cocktails is the most original I've ever known, with an endless choice, an edgy twist and a gorgeous presentation. The decoration is tasteful with all details well thought out. I understand why it is necessary to book several weeks in advance ...

Awesome bar! We got 3 or 4 cocktails per person per night. They were delicious. Bartender was really nice and helpful, she guide us through the menu and we just told her what we like, and she made a recommendation for us. Loved the experience and the taste. Each cocktails was pretty different. Some of them had a fancy serving. Enjoyed the experience and definitely recommend the place!

A very special bar in London. Absolutely worth the visit, but reservation is highly recommended. We spent a lovely evening and enjoyed some rather exotic, but quite delicious drinks. Live music was played that night and enhanced the experience in a fantastic manner. Great fun to watch the two performers sing and play with obvious joy. Our server was knowledgeable and happy to recommend something suitable. Not exactly cheap offers, but well worth it. Overall, a great vibe in this place and filled to the brim despite being quite unremarkable from outside. Definitely a must on our next return to London.

Great cocktail experience 😄. The atmosphere is amazing and the cocktails are beautiful. I really like the Yorkshire Punch and Royal Fizz, which is light and refreshing. Honeymoon has a very strong Whiskey taste but I really enjoyed it. Yokohama is very creamy on the top. We booked the early session from 7-9 which is plenty of time for 3 rounds. Live music starts from 9pm onwards. The snacks are surprisingly good as well.

Hard to get a table without a reservation but waited around outside and the bouncer was kind enough to let us in that was already past mid night. Very hidden gem in the basement. The cocktails was very creative and crafty. Would go back again

They have an extensive cocktail selection. Some of them are hit and miss, in an attempt to be too creative. They also serve the classical cocktails and those are good. The live music here is highly recommended.

My sister knows how much I love speakeasies, live jazz & great cocktails - and I could not have been happier when we walked into Nightjar!! The jazz musicians were absolutely fantastic, which really added to the speakeasy vibes. The service was great… Despite it being a busy Friday night, they were still super attentive. The cocktail menu is also incredible, in and of itself - with a range of amazing craft cocktails, all served with their own unique flair!! It was a tough decision making a final selection - but I finally decided on the Soul Kiss - which was perfect!! The location is perfect - right in the heart of Shoreditch and Old Street! Cannot wait to go back.

A little in the pricey side and a little pretentious to get in “without a reservation” before 8pm. That said, decor inside and cocktails are prohibition inspired. Well made and very tasty. Excellent service with recommendations and tasting notes provided with the cocktails. Overall a great experience

In the heart of London, amidst the labyrinthine streets, we uncovered a hidden gem of libations and merriment - a speakeasy cocktail bar that transported us to an era of bygone elegance. The experience within those clandestine walls was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we crossed the threshold, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of refined indulgence. The cocktails, masterpieces concocted by a skilled mixologist, were nothing less than ambrosial elixirs. Each libation, a symphony of flavors, danced upon our palates with the grace of a royal waltz. However, it was not only the libations that left an indelible impression, but also the presence of a remarkable Asian waiter who graced our table. This paragon of hospitality possessed an innate sense of attentiveness, his service executed with a grace and charm that elevated our evening to regal heights. In this subterranean sanctuary of spirits and flavors, we were not merely patrons; we were esteemed guests in a hidden court of conviviality. Our hearts were warmed by the camaraderie of fellow revelers, and our souls nourished by the exquisite libations. This speakeasy, with its fantastic Asian waiter, has earned its place as a cherished jewel in London's nightlife crown. Verily, in times of yore, the establishment did shine with greater luster.

Pretty neat place. Underground speakeasy. The drinks are expensive but they’re super unique. We had a group of 6 and we all had something different. Love music starts up later in the evening.

Finally, FINALLY a modern "speakeasy" deserving of the name. Cocktail bars throw it around a lot just because they're in a basement, or don't have a sign, or want patrons to perform some degrading tricks to prove how much they want to be there. The gimmick is so tired. Nightjar does have a doorman, it is difficult to find, it is in a basement, it does serve fancy craft cocktails. It does not require a password or any cheesy stuff like that. A reso isn't a bad idea though. The vibes are top notch. There is a cover charge at the door, unless you're coming very late. And it's because there is a live band, playing jazz. The night I was there it was a trumpeter and pianist. Absolutely perfect. Prices are truly excellent value. All the staff was super friendly, and sat me with no reso. The place was packed and it was a Monday. I can only imagine the weekend. Now, drinks... a themed bar is all well and good, but if the cocktails don't reflect the quality, then what's the point? Aesthetics? Nah. This place brings its top cocktail game, which is, after all, the only thing that truly matters for a cocktail bar. The menu is beautiful and large, and the art is wonderful. There is exceptional attention to detail all through the venue. This isn't just some hipsters starting a grungy cocktail bar in a basement and calling it a speakeasy for clout. The menu specifically focuses on pre-prohibition and prohibition era (the og speakeasy time) cocktails. With riffs and twists and some completely novel drinks too. Yes, some are presented a bit OTT, but that's just the industry. The thing is, the garnishes WORK. They aren't just there for something to look at on Instagram. They are part of the drink, and to skip them is to miss out on the flavours they draw out of the cocktail. If they were simply meh so-so drinks with fancy garnishes to fool people, I'd say so. But these aren't. I started with the Aztec Tepache, as both a fan of tequila and specifically tepache. Now, do I ever expect bars like this to have "authentic" tepache? Lol, no. But I'm looking for the right flavour profile, the right vibes. I can't say I tasted all the nuances of every single ingredient they have listed. (Some are way too subtle to even be possible for anybody who isn't a super taster, which I am not.) But overall, it was incredibly cohesive and hit enough different notes that it was convincing. I like tasting the spirits. I also like tasting herbs, amaros, fruits, sour, etc. This has all, and as a first drink was a little on the weaker tasting side but that's okay. After convincing some friends to join me, we also tried a handful of their other offerings. The Toronto isn't something I ever expected on a London bar menu, but this riff was well balanced. The Samurai was tasty too, although again some flavours seemed lost in the sauce. The Sapling Mary was the best Bloody Mary riff I've ever had, and I am not a fan of them (or Caesars). There were a few others my friends had, and all were very well-crafted and pleasurable but I don't know the names. But I would be remiss not to mention I went all out. I ordered the Bird. At £27, it is a massive risk. I was debating between that and one of the much more reasonably priced signatures but when I asked the server (I know we always upsell, but she seemed honest.), she said both my options were excellent and described the flavours with equal enthusiasm. However, when she mentioned Bird was like if Tom Ford was a cocktail, that sealed it. You either love Ford and his line of scents, or you don't. And I do. A lot. I also love a challenging, complex, biting cocktail. The price tag may seem high, but you are drinking a fair serving of Hennessy XO. This is not a drink for the amateur or novice cocktail drinker, unless you love strong spirit-forward cocktails. Furthermore, this is a really beautiful mix. Nothing overpowers anything else and it has a neat little presentation. All round spectacular bar and superb experience that I have no doubts I will return to. ❤️

A Night to Remember at NightJar NightJar is not just a jazz club, but an immersive experience. The ambiance transports guests to a bygone era, with cocktails that are both flavorful and visually captivating. The staff's professionalism enhances the experience, and the quality of music speaks to the club's dedication to authentic jazz. Its design marries vintage charm with modern flair, creating an intimate setting for true jazz aficionados. A must-visit in London's vibrant jazz scene.

Great spot for a date night. Came here after dinner nearby to watch the live performance. The singer was great and did some great old songs which I loved. Stayed for a bit longer than we were booked in for and they didn’t bat an eye. Wonderful drinks and ambience.

Lovely drinks 🍸 😋 all the drinks were very tasty and have their own styles. ALSO very well hidden on the alley with a handsome security guy awaited (made me felt like I was in John Wick's movie a little bit 🤭) The drinks are on the expensive sides but sooo wellll crafted, you won't taste the alcohol at all...until when I got home and I stayed up half of the night 🤣🤣 But this is definitely a great date place and opens until 1am!

In a nutshell, this will undoubtedly become a favourite: so does it go with such places that so masterfully combine providing a refined experience and remaining within reach. Not only does Nightjar offer very good cocktails at what I found to be a reasonable price, it does so in a wonderful atmosphere - elegant and intimate yet relatively casual and relaxed. I would strongly recommend booking - we were very lucky and able to walk in, but I understand this was the exception and not the rule.

I love this place. It's seriously my favourite cocktail bar in London and probably totally. Service great and it's small and never crowded which for somebody who's never divergent is so important. As a disabled person who does struggle with stairs a bit but only thing is I wish there was a lift. But I do understand it's London and that's just how it is.
