A delightful experience. The food was spectacular. The setting so inviting and rich. For oyster lovers, its not to be missed and the place to be.
Incredible! A favourite! Always fresh with a lovely atmosphere! It’s amazing to sit outside in the summer and watch the world go by on mount street!
One of the best places for sea food in London. I love Scotts and I when in London I always try to stop by. The oysters are a favorite to everyone though I don’t eat oysters. I have to admit they are amazing regardless!
I recommend the turbot - amazing! The shrimps are delicious and all their deserts are worth a try! Forget counting calories when you come here !
🐟One of the oldest restaurants in London, that opened as an oyster warehouse in 1851, @scottsmayfair has become the definition of urban sophistication when it comes to traditional fish🐟, shellfish🦐, meats🥩and seasonal game🍖. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Started with the octopus carpaccio🐙(14.75GBP), the seared scallops in the shell with garlic and chili butter🐚(27.50GBP) and the Île d'Oléron oysters🐚(from France) (24GBP). For the main course, went for the whole lobster thermidor 🦐(48GBP), the seared sea bass with lemon and herb butter🐟(27GBP) and the monk fish🐟with tiger prawn🦐masala with pilaf rice (28GBP). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

💡Ordering tips: The amount of food was perfect for a party of three. The waiter made very good recommendations. The food was cooked to perfection.
Excellent service and food. I have ordered a shellfish bisque but a bit salty. The manager waived the payment of this dish. Very very nice and kind. Food are wonderful especially the ceviche and lobster.
Exquisite food, complimented by extremely good service. Great atmosphere & good choice of wines. Very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon in London.
A very nice restaurant. The best seafood place in town. The interior is chick, staff are friendly but the best thing is the selection of seafood at this place. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Strongly recommend
If theres any place to go to for a wide range of seafood its scotts! Its a super fine dining atmosphere but all the dishes were delicious and cooked and seasoned perfectly!
Scott's is one of the best London restaurants. The food is always fresh and delicious, the waiters are perfectly managing everything, always smiling and very kind, the interior is exclusive. It's simply a perfect restaurant expierence - every time being there.
Another Business meeting over Dinner. Our guest enjoyed the choice of restaurant. An all round pleasant experience. Great ambience, fabulous food and attentive service. Ordered the mixed plate of freshly Shucked oysters for starters and the Grilled Sea Bass for the mains. The oysters were fresh and severed with brown buttered rye bread and Sea Bass was done to perfection. Well done, will go again.
If I were an overweight, middle-aged millionaire, this is probably the place where I would go and drink Krug and eat caviar with a spoon. However, being totally opposite to that description, I was still able to go along and appreciate the opulent ambience and first-class feast on offer.
The atmosphere is grandeous from the moment the doorman opens your car door. Inside, tables are lain around the edge of the room, with an impressive bar as centre-piece, within which a well-stocked seafood platter extends from one end of the bar to the other, and is a sight for sore eyes (and hungry tummies!)
It is clear that both the staff and the menu have been satisfying customers for years on end. Whilst many of the staff were young in age, they knew their stuff regarding the food and wine on offer. Polite and gently attentive, we were guided through possible choices and meal recommendations, and left a good amount of time between courses to enjoy the Scott's experience.
To get a good taste of the menu, try the mixed platter of oysters and attempt to guess which is which (but failing that, at least they all taste good!). For main course, there are a range of tempting fish dishes to choose from, and I particularly enjoyed my cod with chorizo crumb and Romesco sauce; the crumb adding texture to the soft, delicate fish and the Romesco sauce bringing all flavours together in a wonderful medley.
Whilst sufficiently sated, I couldn't resist the look of the dessert menu, and soon, our creamy concoctions arrived. The honeycomb ice cream melts beautifully when drizzled with hot chocolate sauce. Dangerously delicious!
I strongly recommend Scott's for fine dining in a grand setting, first-class food and to treat everything but the purse strings.
One of the best British seafood restaurants I have ever been to. Not only is the seafood great (try the sea bream!) but the bread is outstanding too. Only complimented by the excellent ambiance. Soft lighting, comfy chairs and quick but not obtrusive service. This restaurant proves that there is more to British seafood than fish and chips.
Total power scene and really fun people watching at lunch. Very well executed seafood and a very large menu with so many options that choosing can be a challenge. I like the vibe at lunch better than at night and to me it feels like a weekday business lunch type of place versus weekend brunch choice.
Mayfair prices and sleb spots. I've been a few times but, simply, it's 25% too expensive for what it is. It's glitzy and comfortable at the same time, with intersting art , catering to its Mayfair clientele. Nigella practically lives there I believe. I just wasn't blown away. If money is no object, it's fine. Otherwise I think you can do better for less elsewhere.
Great food.. Last week I was spoilt. Ascot Grill in Ascot, and Scotts in Town. The food was great at both. Although alot cheaper in the grill.... Really nice night out at scotts
Just chic! For ladies that lunch and men that fine dine the ambience and atmosphere here are divine! With A wine list that's just fine and food that's top line this really is a favourite of mine :-)
Beam me up. Thanks to Nic (paying) and Julian (recommending) we had a great bash here.
I think this is a straight down the line Mayfair experience. A good evening out. Cocktails first please in the back bar at the Connaught and then round to Scotts.
Seafood platter as a round the table starter is a good idea and if you can hack it, mains to follow.
I found the wine list a little uninspiring in the low mid range but there is a simple solution to that.
One or two at the bar afterwards is a fine way to round it all off.
When I think of Scotts, I immediately think of two people. One is Nigella, who, if the Daily Fail sidebar of shame is to be believed, practically lives here with her husband, “multimillionaire advertising tycoon” Charles Saatchi. The other is Richard Caring, who also happens to own, on the same road, the Mount Street Deli and the private members’ club, George. I’ve been to both. Obviously. And that’s not because I’m a Caring groupie, it’s just that he seems to own quite a lot of restaurants in the parts of London that feature in my work life. Or maybe it’s just that he owns rather a lot of restaurants.
Scott’s has been one of my favourite restaurants but purely for their gorgeous apple pie. The crumbly pastry resembles the finest shortbread with beautifully soft apple chunks, topped with a rich vanilla ice cream (or custard). The perfect texture, the perfect balance between hot and cold sensations, simply the best apple pie I’ve come across in London and such a comforting classic on a wintery day. The pie filling changes on season, but the greengage pie I had last time just wasn’t as good as the apple one. Those of you who has never heard of Scott’s before, it’s not a dessert bar or cafe but a long standing seafood restaurant that has attracted a-list celebrities for many years. You can easily sit next to famous people from all around the world without knowing who they are. Scott’s belongs to the same group as J.Sheekey and the Ivy. It’s in the heart of Mayfair, surrounded by 5 star hotels like the Connaught and many luxury boutiques. This means everything at the restaurant is expen
Fortunately the food is still top-notch and my handsome companion wasted no time devouring the menu. Madison and I settled for 18 oysters
Scott's of Mayfair, established in 1851, is one of London's most legendary seafood restaurants. The restaurant is owned by Caprice Holdings whose portfolio also includes famous restaurants like The Ivy, Le Caprice and J. Sheekey. Scott's has an always well-heeled and sometimes incredibly high-heeled clientele and is a favourite haunt of many A-list celebrities.
I had a posh lunch today - a very posh lunch in fact, at Scott's in Mayfair and it was lovely.
Write off Scott's as a mere celeb canteen though at your peril, for behind the landmark round window and canopied entrance there's a beautiful, brilliant and welcoming restaurant catering to a far more diverse clientele than the paparazzi-populated press would have you believe.
I've been showing T the sights in London, and this tour naturally has to include some of my favourite restaurants. So yesterday we trotted down to Mount Street for a lovely lazy lunch at Scott's . Sandwiched between Marc Jacobs and Christian Louboutin (fa
Scott’s Mayfair prides itself on seafood, but it also has a certain reputation as a ‘go-to’ restaurant for the celebs, with sightings of the likes of Madonna, Shakira, Cheryl Cole and Stella McCartney often being reported. And then there’s Nigella. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read about Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi having dinner at Scott’s the night before in the tabloids.
What can we tell you about Scott’s – the recently revived Mayfair stalwart – that you haven’t already read elsewhere? Not a lot; except to confirm that everything you’ve heard is true: this place exudes the sort of effortless class that have made its stab
I, along with my friends, went there and we all had a good meal. The staff was organized and the service was impeccable. The menu was quite an extensive with all the dishes reasonably priced, however, I must say that the wine list was on an expensive side. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed our time there.
This place serves one of the best seafood in the city with a great service! Although located in a posh locality, the place is not pretentious at all and was very kind to me,even when i dropped in ,in my travel attire. The service here is pretty quick even though the weekends are generally crowded. The seating arrangement outside is a great are for dining too.
I highly recommend trying their sumptuous lobster spaghetti which was heavenly!
I recently tried this place and had a wonderful time here. Although the food was not that great, but the other factors like ambience and service were pretty awesome (well imagine, it is Scott's after all). The food just about met expectations. I liked the monkfish and seabass in main course but the starters with the ceviche was disappointing. The service was pretty good with the staff being quite warm, friendly and helpful. The ambience was wonderful and thus, I would love to come back to this place.
I popped into this place at around 9 pm on a Monday and the bar was full. The bartender was adorable, made excellent martinis and had a generally positive atmosphere around him. We also happened to sit a few tables away from Sir Elton John which felt awesome. The decorum rules are definitely taken seriously at this place. I felt pampered and Sir Elton seemed to enjoy the place as much as I. Please keep in mind that the portion of the Plateau La Mer is enormous and is probably enough for three. This is one of my favorite places in this city.
This place is just brilliant! I have never had a better three course meal in my entire life. We ordered the bass ceviche and it was served perfectly with jalapeños. This dish was truly palpable!
We happened to pick the fillet of river esk just randomly and we were pleasantly surprised. We wanted to keep hogging on to it forever! Yes, it was that tasty.
All in all, we had an enjoyable time as we devoured the yummy food which had a good, robust flavour to it.
The place offers great food with a great atmosphere. The atmosphere here is lively and very welcoming and cozy. All the dishes we ordered from the menu were absolutely delicious and appetizing. The fish I ordered was one of the best I have ever had. The service is great and the staff is friendly. Will surely go back for a great meal again.
This place offers some great food coupled with decent service to top it off. The prized location it is situated in, makes it all the more enjoyable. The place has a beautifully designed setting with an exquisitely done up bar. It is tough to manage a place here, but most of the times that I've been, they've sat me down without any issues. Great place to visit on any special occasion!
We came here last night for a birthday dinner. After the various recommendations, we went for sea bass and john dory and both were appealing and appetizing. I usually do not prefer fish as it lacks flavor, but the chef here prepared it so beautifully that from now on i will only come here to try out other variants of fish. Service as well was quick and efficient.
This place is must-go for people who want to enjoy amazing oysters, awesome Dover Sole and great champagne. We had some really amazing Dirty martini's as well and the sides were a perfect fit to the food. If you're willing to spend a little extra and are not scared of the bill, this place offers one the best food & drinks that you can experience.
This is a fantastic place to enjoy some lunch or dinner at. The crowd here is very different and classy. The staff members are so professional in their work, that it makes it so much more enjoyable. The food here is made fresh and they have some great sea food options. The wine listing here is exceptional. One can also sit outside midst the pretty fire lamps.
Reserve and Go!
It has been more than fifteen years that i last visited this city. I was here for work this time and went to this place for a team dinner. My order of fried oysters and grilled cod was simply delicious. Appealing, appetizing and delectable. A colleagues yellow tuna fish looked good too though i could not taste it. We summed up our meal with decadent chocolate dessert and it was really tasty. Service was quite efficient and prompt too.
This place is perfect in its own way .
The food was great, the service was good, staff was good too .
Coming down to the atmosphere it was amazing and I had a great time. I would love to come again and recommend it to anyone who loves having great time with their partner.
The place offers delicious food that is extremely delightful. The food is packed with flavors and is very appetizing as well. The service is good, with the staff being extremely kind and hospitable. The wine list here is extensive and quite reasonable. You will be able to enjoy a good wine without it burning a hole in your pocket. I would surely recommend this place.
Visited this place second time yesterday and only turned a four star experience into five star one. coming to orders, had Dublin bay prawns and dover sole. Supremely delicious dishes. Fish was close to perfection and served with perfectly cooked vegetables on the side. The service is pleasing, amicable and professional. On the expensive end though!
I do not have many things to say about this place as the experience was an enchanting one, much to leave me allured in a positive way. However, what is notable about this place is the fact that you will always leave content no matter what you order. The set up, the service, the food and even the drinks, everything is worth a shot!
I was visiting London for a business trip and I happened to have a formal lunch at this restaurant. This place was ultimate divinity ! What sophistication in terms of service and delivery of work. I am left spell bound! I believe it is a good place to come to for business outings as the place exudes a peculiar calmness. The staff was well trained and extremely courteous.
I will be back soon!
All I can say is that it met all my high expectations. This place offers the best seafood in the city, especially the oysters and caviar. The smoked salmon is so tasty and delicate. And my god, such a classy place - make sure you are dressed for the occasion!
I had an amazing experience after visiting this restaurant. The staff warmly welcomed us and made sure that we were comfortably placed. The food was of very good quality and the service was spot on. I have been visiting this restaurant for the last four years and my experience has been wonderful till date.
We came here on a friend's recommendation, and ended up having the nicest time. It was a pretty experience, in line with the other reviews. We had delicious cocktails in the bar at the back, and then came down for our meal. I thought the wine menu was a little limited, especially for the less expensive range. We liked our seafood platter, and also enjoyed our main course.
This place has definitely a lot to offer, from ladies who prefer lunch and men who look forward to a fine dine. This place has earned my browny points. It is very comfortable and the great ambiance adds on to it. They possess a nice collection of wine which nearly every one would love. Definitely one of my favorites from this very day.
This place serves real authentic and amazing seafood. This restaurant is owned by the people who have other renowned restaurants in this city as well. This place serves some really good option in fish, prawns, and lambs. The ingredients are fresh and each dish came out to be high on flavors. Highly recommend!
The ambience is wonderful and comfortable. It is one of those typical glamorous restaurants run by a star chef. The food seemed much more expensive than it was worth. All in all iif you want to pay up, the decor and ambience are well worth your time.
This has to be my absolute favorite in the city! This won't be for the food but for the apple pie. In my opinion, is was the perfect texture, that I haven't found anywhere else. The hot and cold temperature of it was very well balanced. It was full of apple chunks and simply the best ever.
This place is famous for its seafood and is frequented by quite a few celebs too. The food is great, the meat is juicy and tender, everything freshly cooked. The experience is wonderful and a celeb sighting just adds to that I guess. Would recommend to everyone.
I have grown to really enjoy this place. This has a really nice atmosphere and food, and is very conveniently located. The decor is beautiful and quirky, and the restaurant is frequently occupied by celebrities, who have made this place a regular spot. There are always paparazzi outside, hoping to click the dining celebrities. I love coming here.
By far one of the best restaurants that I have been to. The service happened to very quick and very efficient. The staff possessed a pleasing personality and were very cooperative and very well coordinated. The food, to my surprise, turned out to be amazingly delectable. I am definitely recommending this place.
Located in the heart of Mayfair, Scott's is a brilliant restaurant true to my expectations. The place is very elegant and formal, however perhaps slightly too formal. The service is excellent; staff are very helpful and attentive, making sure that our glasses were never empty!
The food here is excellent, the smoked salmon and the cerviche are particularly noteworthy.
Despite its stature and location, Scott's isn't overly expensive like some restaurants in Mayfair. For a nice meal out with some drinks, it should be around £60pp. Overall, its a great restaurant and I would definitely recommend it.
Great place! The ambiance is definitely very elegant and classy. The waiters are all so friendly, helpful and attentive. And the food is delicious! I ordered the roasted cod, and it had such incredible flavours from the chorizo, and cooked to perfection. Definitely a pricy restaurant, but considering I love the ambiance, service and food so much, it is worth the money.
Not much to say about this place, other than it ticks all the boxes, and definitely a place I need to go back to soon. Highly recommend it!
I hardly expected to find fault with Scotts, the name speaks for itself, The waiters couldn't have been more attentive, returning on several occasion to chat and ask us what we thought of each dish. My friend mentioned it had been her birthday earlier on in the week, and he very sweetly arranged for a chocolate Happy Birthday message to find a way to our table.
Neither of us being great wine connoisseurs, the staff helped us pick an affordable red, which turned out to be the perfect compliment to our seafood dinner choices.
The ambiance is that of extreme sophistication and class, with a palace sort of feel from the minute you step into the restaurant.
Each dish was flawless; I tried the Argyll smoked salmon, beetroot and ruby leaf salad with a side of roasted squash, followed by the Scotts desert plate.
Always a great time at Scotts. Come give it a try when you're in Mayfair!
One of London's greatest all-rounders. Fresh, tasty, classic seafood - tick. Glamour - tick. Best service I've had - tick. Dessert list to tickle the savoury-est of teeth - tick.
Book in advance or try your chances at the bar if there are only two of you. They don't take bookings for the tables outside - and these are such a treat for 2 - 4 people in the summer. Dressed crab, baked crab, marinated salmon with black pepper and avocado, stonebass ceviche, fillet of halibut with confit of chicken ( ! ), grouse on toast, slip soles with capers and butters, Dover sole, creamed spinach, apple pie, almond ice cream with hot chocolate sauce, pear tarte tatin.
Scotts' has been around since time began and anybody of a certain age will remember it a being THE place in town. The menu is sometimes quite traditional, but it's nice to go to a place that does the old things well. Service is great and you are always made to feel special. It's very expensive but if you feel like splashing out you can't go wrong with Scott's.
Ambiance: The restaurant boasts an elegant and lively atmosphere, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The combination of elegance and liveliness creates a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
Food: If you have a fondness for seafood and fish, you're in for a treat here. The freshness and quality of the seafood are apparent in every bite, making it a true delight for seafood enthusiasts.
Overall, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for anyone who appreciates seafood. With its elegant and lively ambiance and a menu filled with delicious seafood and fish options, it's a must-visit destination for those seeking a memorable dining experience.
I took my Mum here for her birthday in March which was the same day as UK Mother’s Day so it was extremely busy. The service was understandably slower than usual and we hadn’t finished our meal at all at the time they asked us to leave the table, it’s a shame that this wasn’t considered before they even asked but thankfully a member of staff compensated for the oversight and seated us downstairs for the remainder of our meal.
We were looked after really well by Leonardo and Matthew. Scott’s is one of my favourite restaurants so this wasn’t my first visit and won’t be last. Lovely visit!
One of my favourite restaurants in London! A place of pure sophistication, old school class and elegance. The food is divine, the ambiance is chic, and the service is top-notch. A must-visit for anyone who wants a taste of luxury in the heart of Mayfair. 💫
The only downside is the lack of vegetarian/vegan options.
Overall, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in my life. Firstly, the dishes were exceptional - the lobster was of the best quality, grilled to the perfect tenderness, and the monkfish and prawn curry was just delicious. Our professional yet friendly waiter helped us choose the wine - couldn’t have been happier with that we got. The interior design is very classy but the atmosphere of the place made us feel relaxed and welcomed. And as for Mayfair, value for money is unbeatable. Would love to come back.
Went there for fiances birthday, we had the seafood platter for two as well as the octopus carpaccio and wow! Food was wonderful, perfectly cooked, and the portion size was amazing! I have allergies and they were fully accommodating for me, and to top it off when we had dessert they had written happy birthday with my fiance's name on the plate for her.
Our waiter was amazing, as was Ronan the maitre d' his welcoming presence was amazing!!
I went for a birthday, the fish and seafood we had was very well cooked, Leo who served us was very helpful especially when helping me find something I could eat without dairy and gluten which was fairly easy. The sommelier was helpful and didn’t just point to the most expensive bottle, picked us a good bottle.
I marked it down only because no gluten free bread was available even though there is a cover charge, and the scallops should have had Harissa and garlic, but ended up only with garlic which no one explained why, they were perfectly cooked though .
One of the very best seafood restaurant in London, with great variety choices on fresh seafood.
For appetiser, there are obviously so many choices, and really hard to make decision. Shellfish is always great, and Octopus carpaccio is exceptionally mouth-watering, with very refreshing taste.
For mains, lobster is always one of the most popular choices, which is very fresh and tender. The fish of the day - John Dory is also very nice, with excellent dressing.
Dessert is something also cannot be missed, especially the posset, with so refreshing lemon taste!
A very elegant, chic restaurant. Good ambience and good service, in a nice part of town. The fish here very is fresh and beautiful quality, with a varied menu.
There is also a good dessert menu- the bakewell tart is honestly one of the best I've ever had.
Outstanding culinary experience we had there, the atmosphere, the service, the food were just outstanding.
Great lunch celebrating my sisters 60th food was fantastic. Service was ok but not 100%.
Lovely restaurant with a super atmosphere.
Very good service
Friendly staff
Best for seafood
I have ordered
Shrimp tempura
Halibut
Lobester
Ribeye
10/10, great food, service was top notch. Must mention good was real good, blown away. Thank you!
Great selection of seafoods, friendly staff and reasonable priced for Mayfair restaurant. Highly recommend monkfish cheeks and snails, lobster is good too. The desert (Paris- Brest) is amazing !
Btw, it’s also famous for being frequently visited by royals, celebrities. During our visit we saw John Cena.
Lovely fish and seafood restaurant! As expected the staff were friendly and helpful. The waiter actually took the lobster out for us to see if we were happy with it! Price is reasonable for Mayfair. Most important it was cooked brilliantly and portion is actually is right amount. Was not easy to book so book early!
I've dined here a number of times, and it has always been flawless. From the service to the food. Their sole is great. Even though it's a seafood restaurant, the rib steak is cooked perfectly with all the flavours you would expect. Looking forward to going again.
How come they have no Michelin stars?? One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Enjoyed not less than Helen Druz's joint (***) down the street. The Dover sole was as good as the one I've once had at Le Pre Catelan. Highly, highly recommended.
This is the restaurant for our special occasions!! Once you come in Scott’s you jump in another time and atmosphere where you are treated as a queen and a king. Professionalism and attention for details make a big difference and in Scott’s you can find the right balance between the perfection and the good food!! The food is really fresh and super tasty and the chef is really talented. They always have nice options that make you feel to come back for try the other dish. What can I say more, just that everyone needs to do such an amazing experience at least once!! This time a want thank Gianmaria and Domenico that cared about us and our needs. Well done guys and good job to everyone!!
Very tasty food, I have to visit this place every time I come to London!
