We ended up trying most of the food on the menu. The food was really good. We liked the pork belly, classic ceviche, pork ribs, chicken, flat iron steak, sweet potato fries and black beans.
The portion size is small and place is value for money.

"Fantastic flavour and great location"

Date of Visit: 15.02.18

Time: 7.00pm

Review: When i first looked at the menu i was a little concerned as i am not keen on fish i thought i might be limited to choice but i was pleasantly surprised. But i will say vegetarians will have a more limited experience here with only a few options available. I have always liked Kingly Court but even after having an office moments away for 6 years i never ventured to the upper areas in the food courtyard. It was a cold evening but you feel very welcomed as soon as you enter but donā€™t get a seat next to the door as the waiting area is right by the door and people tend to leave it open when they walk in or wait. Service was good and attentive with a full description of the menu given if required and recommendations also given. It is nice when the service knows the food, it gives you some comfort. Drinks arrive promptly but the food arrived a little more hap hazard but without too much of a delay. The portions are all small but what we ordered was enough for 2 but you will need to make a selection not rely on filling up with one or two items only. The food although came at a reasonable time was not hot and so i would say you need to eat first and talk later. I was not expecting much but i must say i was pleasantly surprised as each dish arrived it was tasty and a pallet i was not used to. Each dish went back empty. Everything was cooked to perfection. Ā

Dress Code: Casual

Booking Process: Very easy via open table and resturant called me on the day to confirm and was able to bring the time forward from 9pm to 7pm so again I would advise you book direct rather than going through the app as you may get a time you wish.Ā

Location: Kingly St, Soho, London W1B 5PW

Cuisine Type: Peruvian ceviche and a menu with Japanese and Chinese twists

Parking: There is an NCP down the road but this is Soho so would advise using London Transport.Ā

Decor & Lighting: Nice comfortable padded bench seating with nice traditional decor and open kitchen. Well lightĀ

Heating and Cooling:Ā

Ambience & Acoustics: It was loud, not so the music but bad acoustics with so many people talking you had to really raise your voice to be heard. This is not the place for a quite talk in the evening but a nice place still for a good meal and to go as a group.Ā

DB Level: Sorry i did not take a reading and wish I did.

Drinks: LIMA LEMONADE (Lime, sugar, mint, soda) - Great refreshing taste that i had to have two.Ā

Food:Ā

QUINOA CROQUETAS (Quinoa and cheddar croquettas with aji rocotto and pineapple salsa) - Great crispy coating and not too cheesy, could not taste the pineapple though in the salsa but well seasoned.Ā

COLIFLOR QUEMADA (Burnt cauli ower with aji limo and piquillo pepper salsa and sesame soured cream) - Another good dish but less flavoursome than the croquetas and could do with some more kick to the sauce which was mild.Ā

SUPER POLLO (Marinated and grilled corn fed chicken leg with rocotto salsa) - Great grilled chicken which was chargrilled and succulent and well cooked. Great dish and worth trying.Ā

FLAT IRON Y NIKKEI UCHUCUTA (Papaya marinated at iron steak with pickled shiitake mushroom and uchucuta sauce) - Cooked as requested medium to well and arrived as requested. Small slices but well portioned and the pickled mushrooms added a tang to the dish which tasted like a sour spinach but went really well with the dish to add some spice and flavour which i have never tasted before.Ā

PATATAS FRITAS (Sweet potato fries with aji rocotto mayonnaise) - Probably the best sweet potato fries i have ever had with a great mayonnaise. Ā Ā

FRIJOLES NEGROS (Black beans, smoked bacon, burntĀ
aubergine, aji panca, pineapple and sour cream) - I could not taste the pineapple or the bacon but added some accompaniment to the selection. I cannot think really of any negative points.Ā

Desert: PERUVIAN PROFITEROLES (Sweet potato pro teroles lled with lime crĆØme anglais and dulce de leche sauce) - You get three so if there are two best to eat quick so you donā€™t have to share the third one. It was a nice end to the meal.

Bill / Cost: Ā£80.00 (For two with drinks)

Conclusion: Another recommended resturant worth trying as you will fill your pallet with new tastes and also it is fun to have small portions such as those served but where you can have multiple dishes. I will be looking to go again. Service was also great and menu fully explained and quick service.Ā

This is a lovely restaurant in the busy Kingly Court, where food and service are exceptional. I recommend that you order 3-4 dishes per person as, despite the great quality of the ingredients, the dishes aren't very filling per se. But expect an explosion of flavours when you try the different ceviches, the crispiness of the quinoa croquettas and make sure you have the great company of a pisco sour coktail to go with it.

Nice lunch. Friendly staff. All the dishes were good. Choices were good enough albeit not many. The only slight disappointment was the flat iron steak which was slightly over grilled at the edge. Staff gave the cheese cake on the house cos of the birthday celebration.

Iā€™ll let you in on a little secret, I love tapas. But, this isnā€™t a Spanish tapas bar like Iā€™ve tried before. This is Peruvian, and as the name suggests, they specialise in ceviche, a Peruvian method of curing fish in tigers milk ā€“ fear not, itā€™s a mix of lime, spices and onions.

Great atmosphere and reasonably priced. There is a small bar where you can have a drink before being seated and Pisco Power Hour is from 5-6:30pm where you can enjoy ones of their pisco sours for Ā£5. The menu is small and simple. We had the quinoa croquettes, sea bass ceviche, beef ribs and sweet potato fries with spicy mayonnaise. All we're very tasty. Lighting, music and acoustics are all on point. Service is friendly. Reservation required as they are always busy.

SeƱor Ceviche serves small dishes each packed with a flavour explosion in a very well balanced way.
We shared the quinoa croquettas (definitely recommend, the entire dish including the salsa is really good), the Mr Myiagi (good but the least impressive we tried), the seƱor ceviche (a burst of flavour, very good) and the spaniard (my favourite, the chorizo adds a great dimension).
Definitely need to come back to try the bbq section!

I can feel Senor Cevicheā€™s energy even before I walk through the door. Ā Kingly Court is a bit of a surprise to me, tucked away behind Oxford St and next to Carnaby St, Iā€™d never given it much thought but once you walk in, youā€™re faced with 3 floors of buzzing restaurants and more happy foodie people you can shake a stick at.

As we walked down the narrow streets of Soho, people spilled out onto the pavementsĀ from the crowded bars, shops were packed with bargain-hunters during the summer sales and restaurant terraces were busy on a pleasant, though slightly chilly day. But we had one destination in mind as we rounded the corner and into Kingly Courtā€¦

Peruvian food has to be one of my favourite cuisines. Itā€™s fresh, zesty, meaty, full of flavour ā€“ and all normally accompanied by a lot of cocktails and punchy spirits. My first Peruvian experience ever was actually not that long ago when Lima in Fitzrovia opened its doors and got London all exotic. Since then weā€™ve been spoilt with new Peruvian restaurant, but none quite like Senor Ceviche in Kingly Court. The restaurant draws its inspiration from travels around Peru, showcasing a mind-boggling array of flavours and ingredients, some of which Iā€™ve never even heard ofĀ before. And if that wasnā€™t enough, Senor Ceviche put on a week-long BBQ menu with some truly outstanding dishes which hopefully make their way onto the regular menu over time. Cocktails here are special too, worth the visit alone ā€“ especially seeing as you can prop up at the bar and soak up some of the restaurants atmosphere.

I believe I've found my new favourite moderately priced restaurant in London and I am saddened that I didn't try them earlier. Just like the first time you kiss THE right one and think - why in Gods name am I meeting you so late in life... That's what SeƱor Ceviche is. If you haven't been as yet, then you've missed out and if you have then I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

El SeƱor and his crew know how to throw a party... in your mouth. The flavours are explosive yet not over the top. I'm not a fan of anything with sweet potato in it and a number of the recommended dishes had sweet potato purƩe in them yet I couldn't taste it - but I'm sure it added something to the dish.

The dishes that you just have to try are - the seƱor ceviche - a sea bream and octopus ceviche that is to die for. The octopus is unbelievably tender and the whole concoction is a symphony of flavours.

If you're a lover of all things pork, you have got to try the slow cooked crispy pork belly in sweet soy. If you don't love pork - you still should try the slow cooked crispy pork belly in sweet soy - that's the dish to convert anyone.

Also try Mr Miyagi - a salmon tiradito with pomegranate.

We also ordered the slow cooked baby back pork ribs in a sticky BBQ sauce covered in peanuts because we saw it on everyone's table and well... they're pork ribs - it's a no-brainer! They were good but not comparable to the previous three dishes.

So why 4.5 you say... Well we made the mistake of ordering the chargrilled chicken with a peppery salsa. In all fairness it's chicken - I don't think the chef could have done much else to help the dish, charred zesty chicken would be a hit on any other menu, but when stacked up against the likes of the octopus and crispy pork belly it fell short... Wayyyy short and that's why the 4.5

Maybe I'm being a tad bit harsh, but if this is going to be my new favourite haunt then something needs to change about that chicken!

Two weeks ago I was treated, along with a small number of other food, lifestyle and travel bloggers, to a fabulous evening atĀ SeƱor CevicheĀ in Kingly Court, located just off Carnaby Street, near Oxford Circus. The event was a collaboration between both Seńor Ceviche and Liberty Wines, the restaurantā€™s sommelier and wine provider. So there were 7 mates heading to London for the weekend and hungry for a superb Friday night feast...This restaurant couldn't have been a better choice!

The staff was superb right from the start since half of the group was a bit late. Then we were nicely recommended and immediately served. 5 stars

Now the food...we ordered several dishes which summed up to approximately what is suggested, 3 per person. The ceviche was blistering fresh and then the pork meat was put in front of me and took me to heaven! Still watering my mouth from those delicious ribs and melting Chifa (crispy pork belly).

All this was topped by Pisco Punch (several actually) which are a real danger, so fresh you won't count them after a while.

Senor Ceviche is my kind of place for a fun night out with a girlfriend or three. It's in the perfect location for some post-shopping or pre-partying in Soho, it's fun, lively, they play great music, serve excellent cocktails and even better food that's made for sharing. I popped down with Bron a couple of weeks ago after being invited to review it and we made a pretty good dent on both the cocktail and food menu. There's something for everyone and you can have as much or as little as you like. The food at Senor Ceviche is based around Peruvian BBQ and ceviche dishes and there's a good mix of the two on the menu. We started off with the "clasico" and the "senor ceviche" ceviches. Both are sea bream ceviche with aji limo tiger's milk, red onion, sweet potato puree and coriander, then the "senor ceviche" also has avocado, octopus and tempura baby squid. I love ceviche anyway but these were both excellent versions of it, with the tangy, fiery tiger's milk perfectly complementing the balance of fish and vegetables.

Latino food cravings were put to bay after walking into this restaurant. With waiting times of over 1 hours, I know see why there so much fuss about the place. We ordered the following:
1. Sea bass ceviche
2. Squid tempura
3. Sweet potato fries
4. Slow cooked pork buns

Everything was cooked to perfection and as the food is meant to be shared they recommend a minim of 3 dishes per person. The portion sizes were large so we didn't need more food than this. We washed it all down wit the Pisco sours in passion fruit and spiced pineapple. Cannot wait to go back again.

We accidentally end up in SeƱor Ceviche because the restaurant that we wanted had a 1 hour wait, so we decided to come here instead. What a great choice that was!

The atmosphere is very welcoming and the waitress was very friendly, although with the loud music, it can be hard to hear her when speaks pretty fast!

I had the super pollo chicken with sweet potato fries which was very filling and tasted very good! It had a nice spicy ting to it!

Highly recommended if you are looking to try something new among the typical London restaurants!

It should be a 4.5-5 rating but the service was lacking. Took a little longer than needed to be seated as the place was half empty. They also forgot my second drink order so ate half my food without anything to quench my thirst.
But that food is Super! The tasty Super pollo, well seasoned to the Nikkei greens, and the Chicharonne (little pork belly cubes in a bun with a thick tasty sauce). The food was very good indeed. Well worth a visit if you're on the area.
Will be back again and recommend to anyone.

This post is long overdue, and I was going to say that after Christmas when youā€™ve been scoffing non-stop for a month (and well into January) itā€™s nice to have something fresh and light thatā€™s still packed with flavour while not being remotely salad-like. But actually thereā€™s no excuse or reason needed for a bit of ceviche, and Senor CevicheĀ has some of the best.

SeƱor Ceviche is a Peruvian casa in trendy Kingly Court. From the outside, it reminded me of those casitas you see on beach holidays with music pumping out inviting punters for a tipple or two.Ā Inside, it's an intergalactic industrial fiesta: cocktail bar on one side, open kitchen on the other, bright neon stickers all over. Bubbly servers hover around with bright smiles and it feels you're transported to a warm Latin country.Ā

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by SeƱor Ceviche. I think the menu offers a good variety of things to try for groups of people with various tastes and levels of fussiness. I don't think dessert is their strongest mark but quite rightly, the ceviches are commendable and the pork ribs are yum. Service is good, ambience is pretty chilled out and oh my gosh the price is so cheap! It's definitely a nice place to go with buddies - you won't be disappointed!

Senor Ceviche is the brainchild by Harry Edmeades, getting his inspiration to bring Peruvian food back to London from his travels. Part of the hugely successful Kingly Court development off Carnaby Street, a shining piazza of some seriously good restaurants, it's a 'Peruvian casa full of fun, food and cocktails'. Bustling and busy at 8pm, we were shown to our (booked!) table within 10 minutes and took up prime position next to the open kitchen.

First on the agenda were the cocktails. We each started with something different (because reasons) despite the photograph. Ash's Mancora Surfclub (Machu Pisco, elderflower, cucumber and apple) was fresh and light, Soph's Pisco Punch (Machu Pisco, lemon juice, rosemary and pineapple juice) was sweet and fragrant whilst my Mamacita! (El Jimador, Cointreau, lime juice, agave and fresh jalapeno) was tart with a perfect bite and a delicious salted, chilli rim.

Then onto the food. The menu here is divided into four sections but essentially it's about small plates and sharing dishes which, as I've mentioned countless times before, is perfect for me because I get serious food envy and it means you can try a thousand more things on the menu. Our friendly waitress recommended three dishes per person and between the three of us that meant we'd cover about half the menu. Dream.

Before we get into the specific dishes, I have to say that we ordered perfectly. Practically everything that arrived at the table was mouthwateringly brilliant and so consistent in quality that Senor Ceviche has shot to the top of my list.

First to arrive were the aubergine picarones - bites of eggplant in sweet potato tempura with a barbecue sauce and coriander yoghurt. Crisp and juicy, these were seriously moreish and we fought over the last one.

Then there was the jalea mixto - tempura baby squid, prawns and cod with a jalapeno mayo. I didn't manage to try any of the prawn but the squid and cod were firm and well cooked in the light batter and tossed with spring onion.

And the pork belly. Oh, the pork belly. Crisp, fatty pieces of melt-in-the-mouth slow cooked pork belly with a sweet soy jam, just the way I like it.

The two ceviches we chose were excellent. The house ceviche comprises of sea bass and octopus in the usual tiger's milk and topped with cubed avocado, tempura squid and sharp red onion, while The Spaniard added king prawn to the mix, tomato tiger's milk, chorizo and plantain. Generous portions of fish, freshly marinated and citrusy with plenty of sauce to mop up. I could eat this for days.

Next came the baby back ribs (which I didn't eat because I'm a heathen who doesn't like ribs) and the flat iron with uchucuta sauce (the Peruvian version of chimichurri). The rarest they'll serve it is medium rare but ours came on the more well done side of the medium scale; despite this, the meat was to die for and the parsley and mint salsa brought a sharp tang to the protein.

And for a bit of variation, the sweet potato fritas were nice enough (for someone who doesn't like sweet potato) and the quinoa saltero fresh and light. A generous mound of beetroot and feta sat atop the grain and, whilst underseasoned, acted as a nice little palate cleanser.

Somewhere in the middle two more rounds of cocktails were ordered, desserts were passed up on and setting the world to rights took place. Senor Ceviche, you were an utter delight and a five out of five.

For ages now I've seen blog posts, tweets and Instagram photos featuring Kingly Court, a three storey collection of restaurants, shops and other establishments all centred around a little courtyard. Tucked away just off Carnaby Street it had, to my mind, achieved an almost legendary status. Others claimed to have been there and seen it for themselves, but I never had. Until Zomato intervened with an invitation to a blogger meet up at Senor Ceviche.

Senor Ceviche is the brainchild of Harry Edmeades who launched the restaurant just over a year ago. Serving up Peruvian cuisine, we were lucky enough to benefit from Harry's recent 'research trip' to Peru and were able to sample some of their dishes, including some new ones.

Once we were all assembled we were treated to a little introduction to making Pisco Sours before we were all served a Lemongrass Pisco Sour each.

The plates quickly started to arrive at our table from the open kitchen. First up were Aubergine Picarones - sweet potato and aubergine doughnuts served with a satay-esque sauce. Savoury little bites of deliciousness. We also had Chicaronnes, plates of amazing crispy pork belly with a beautiful soft layer of fat cooked in a soy-based Asian inspired sauce. Slightly sweet and tangy, I definitely polished off far too many of these, helped by the fact that Sheepa doesn't eat pork so I really did have more than my fair share and could have eaten these alone. Unfortunately though, not the most photogenic dish in an evening when the lights are low. I tried, but you'll have to trust me and try it for yourself.

Our next round of food brought an Inca Trail cocktail together with plates of beautiful fresh salmon tiradito dressed with pomegranate, shiso and tiger's milk and also bowls of their signature dish - the Senor Ceviche. The Senor Ceviche is a sea bream and octopus ceviche with aji amarillo tigerā€™s milk, sweet potato puree, avocado, coriander, red onion & tempura baby squid. It has a real kick to it from the tiger's milk and the component parts came together well.

But they were all just warm-ups for what was to come, another drink and even more food! Grilled beef heart skewers, chargrilled chicken with a piquillo pepper salsa, a quinoa salad with baby gem, roasted beetroot, avocado, asparagus, edamame beans, choclo corn & queso (it sounds like it's super healthy but it's also delicious) together with a plate of Nikkei greens - a great twist on a side of veg.

Whilst opinions varied between the group as to which dish was their favourite, the dish of the night that we all agreed we loved was the dessert, a passion fruit and white chocolate cheesecake with chicha morada syrup. Deconstructed and beautifully presented with a tropical looking flower, we all dug in with relish and all of the bowls were quickly polished off.

I don't do it enough (stupid unpredictably long work hours) but it was lovely to meet other bloggers (both old and new to me) and to share some delicious food. I am already planning to drag my boyfriend across town for a return visit so I can basically stuff myself with pork belly, sweet potato fries and try everything else on the menu.

I had heard about this London restaurant way back when it first opened and my immediate thought was, 'I NEED to go here'. Especially due to the fact that I had already developed a love for Peruvian flavours, as sampled in other London restaurants and even in Cape Town. Apart from the excuse that there are just so many dining venues within London, I have no other feasible reasons. Luckily for me, though,Ā Zomato was coming to the rescue, and I would finally be able to visit this much-praised foodie establishment.

Monday is always a boring day! This week it was a little bit more fun than usual as I received an invitation from Zomato to join their #ZomatoMeetup dinner at SeƱor Ceviche.
It was the first time I attended one of their events. It was a great night and I got the chance to meet other foodie bloggers.

The first time I tried Peruvian food it was at Chotto Matte and I really liked it. I also tried Lima Floral but I thought it was bad value. Knowing this, it's obvious that I was very excited to discover SeƱor Ceviche's dishes.
The evening started with a lemongrass pisco sour and some nibbles. The pisco sour and chiefĀ
chicharonnes (slow cooked, crispy pork belly with sweet soy) were just ok in my opinion, I really liked the picayune aubergines dishes. It was a few mini sweet potato and aubergine doughnuts with a rich, mildly spiced paste called achiote. The sauce on its own had a very unusual taste, but it really gave an extra smokiness/ spiced flavour to the dish

Since I first visited the little gem of a restaurant that is SeƱor Ceviche, I have been victim of this weird thing that is ā€œnew restaurant paradoxā€.Ā

You know, that moment when youā€™re not sure if you want to tell the world about this great little place youā€™ve just been to, or just keep it all to yourself (and make sure theyā€™ll always have a table for youā€¦).

But then what would I not do for a plate of chicharonnes and a glass or two of basil pisco...

Megan and I popped into Senor Ceviche as we were both desperate to try it after reading so many good reviews (the downside of Zomato!) and weren't disappointed.

We both opted for the Ā£10 lunch menu, which allows you to have a main dish, a side dish and a soft drink from a smaller menu. We both had the classico ceviche, which was flavoursome, a generous portion and all around delicious.

I had the sweet potato fries which were delicious - crispy and wonderful and served with the most delicious sauce.

Megan opted for the black bean side dish which was really good - though I did prefer my fries!

The service was great, though we did try to order the Senor Ceviche dish to share but it never arrived which was a little disappointing - not really sure what happened there.

I'd really recommend the lunch menu; it's well priced and a healthy and filling alternative.

A great addition to Kingly Court!

Sooo popped down here for a spot of lunch. The waiting staff were quick and efficient and the food was delicious! I had the tamarind chilli wings which come with a divineeeee sauce rich in both colour and texture! My main was the seƱor cervice but I preferred the classico, just a personal preference. The sweet potato fritas are a must as they're perfectly cooked and really tasty. The mocktails there are also delicious and give the effect of the alcohol by adding a kick of citrus. Really good food but there is a guideline on Zomato of Ā£30 for two people, I would say that's if you're having a main and possibly a non alcoholic drink. Otherwise you're looking at quite a bit more

After my amazing experience at Ceviche, I ended up craving it again ā€“ so later that week, the lovely Priscilla from FoodPorn Nation and I headed to Kingly Court to SeƱor Ceviche. I absolutely love Kingly Court ā€“ there are so many fabulous restaurants, and SeƱor Ceviche is one of them.

Remember back in February when I went to M Raw with my friend Traze? Sheā€™d broken up with her boyfriend and had decided to go travelling the world for five monthsā€¦after an epic adventure visiting Mexico, Thailand, USA, Australia and Cuba sheā€™s back!. As Traze lives in Bristol we donā€™t get to see each other that often and as a fellow foodie, reunions always involves lots of food and bubbles! Jess makes up the third member of our trio and though she lives in London we donā€™t see each other that often either so we were so excited for lunch to catch up.

Fantastic flavours!

This restaurant is on the first floor of the lovely Kingly Court. I will definitely go back to try all the other places. They look fantastic.

The food is great. Fantastic flavours. The Ceviche is their specialty, a raw fish but with fantastic flavour. Loved the sweet potato chips.
We tried the chicken wings, so delicious and another lovely grilled chicken main. All were awesome!
They were out of dessert by the time we could order but dulce de leche ice cream sounds delicious.

Will recommend this for your bit of Peru and Chile right in the heart of London!Arjun Raj Bathla

I really like this place. The atmosphere is quite cool and it is well decorated even though it can get a bit loud at times. I really enjoy the food specially the ceviche that I love. You should definitely also try the beef (not the beef hearts, didn't love these). Also, you can actually book a table and do not have to queue for hours which is definitely a plus!

Matt The List
+3.5
Peruvian-popup-turned-permanent Senor Ceviche have recently added new dishes (and updated a few older ones) having settled in to their colourful Barranco-inspired home in the increasingly wonderful Kingly Court. It was a first visit for Matt The List, so it was all new to me!

The fabulous Fabrizia got straight to the Pisco point as we sat down, pointing us towards their trademark sours amongst other concoctions. The cocktail list threatens to be too sweet throughout, but all four of our drinks were very well balanced, not least the Barranco Babe (1615 Pisco, Passion Fruit PurƩe, Vanilla Syrup, Basil, Lime Juice, Egg White & Burnt Angostura) which could have been awful in the wrong hands.

Soon, we were overrun by plates. Arriving first, Jalea Mixto (Tempura Baby Squid, Prawns & Cod with Pickled Jalapeno Mayo) was worth ordering just for the sauce - hold on to that bowl.

Two ceviche plates appeared soon after - The Spaniard (Sea Bream & King Prawn Ceviche with Tomato & Brown Crab Tiger's Milk, Red Onion, Coriander, Plantain & Crispy Chorizo) and Senor Ceviche himself (Sea Bream & Octopus Ceviche with Aji Amarillo Tiger's Milk, Sweet Potato Puree, Avocado & Tempura Baby Squid). The Spaniard edged it thanks to some subtle smokiness, but both are fine examples of the genre.

Mr Miyagi (Salmon Tiradito with Nikkei Tiger's Milk, Pomegranate, Purple Shiso & Salmon Scratchings) sounds like a winner but will have to wait for a second visit.

Pervuian Barbecue plates followed, starting with a moreish Flat Iron Steak with Aji Limo & Chimmichurri - one not to miss. The same goes for the Anticucho de CorazĆ³n de Res - Grilled Beef Heart Skewers with Sweet Potato Mayonnaise, Aji Panca, Bojita Olives & Mint. If that sounds too adventurous, go for some Pachamanca Pork Ribs with sticky Nikkei BBQ sauce and peanuts. Yum yum.

Despite being stuffed, Fabrizia somehow talked me in to a Passion Fruit Posset palate cleanser. It's sharp and fresh, and large enough to share. Alternatively, you could finish off with their Pisco-based Lima Espresso Martini.

There's plenty to enjoy at Senor Ceviche, both from the bar and the open kitchen, and it won't break the bank (depending on how many Ā£8 cocktails you put away). Go with a group and work your way through the whole menu.

Had a lovely bottle of wine in here on a saturday afternoon as a shopping break - the house white was lovely, and the senor ceviche dish is light, tangy and so tasty. Just a little bite this time but food, drinks, location and service were all spot on.
Only 1 toilet though so if it's busy you may struggle!

Ceviche and Peruvian cuisine are by no means new to the London food scene. Frith Streets aptly na med Ceviche has been stalwart of the Soho food scene for quite some time. However, of late, this cuisine has been getting a little more attention as several more ceviche themed restaurants have popped up across our capital.

The Vibe

Kingly Court is THE place to be right now ā€“ home to all the cool kids in town; SeƱor Ceviche is in good company. Situated on the upper level of this bustling haven, the atmosphere in here is pure London buzz. Without being remotely stuffy, this Peruvian inspired eatery consistently serves up excellent food and drink giving you a vibrant taste of downtown Lima, in the heart of Soho.

The Order

Start at the bar and order Pisco Sours to start, this sets the tone ā€“ youā€™re going to be here a while and itā€™s going to get fun. Venture onto ā€˜Nazca Heatā€™ and ā€˜Titicaca Fizzā€™ ā€“ whilst steering clear of the chat about gap yahs (and definitely donā€™t mention the handwoven slippers or knitted hat you still own from your trip up a Peruvian mountain). Instead, suggest moving onto your table and glide through the menu ordering several plates to share. Absolute highlights are the ceviches ā€“ go for the Mercado Mixto and the Mr Miyagi. The Pachamanca pork ribs are also to die for ā€“ but avoid overeating especially if youā€™re already tipsy on tequila.

The Game

This place is a dream date. Youā€™re in the heart of the action and the vibe lends itself to a night spent drinking and eating, entirely oblivious to the Soho night. Meet downstairs in Kingly Court and enter SeƱor Ceviche together. Youā€™ll leave together too, guaranteed. Move between the bar and your table to start and finish the evening, lapping up the Lima-esque energy and getting lost in a true Latino experience. Stumble out as they close, and if you want to party until the ā€˜madrugadaā€™, hit up Cahoots for a spectacular finale.

The Faults

Not for the date who turns up their nose to raw fish.

I cant say im very familiar with Peruvian food or ceviche for that matter but as it seems to be the topic of conversation when speaking about exotic food types, I couldn't resist by heading over to Soho to get my first taste of this popular South American seafood dish.Ā

First thing to notice when you step inside is the bold, bright colours wall to wall, dangling lights, wooden decor and hospitable staff to greet you with dazzling smiles. So far so good.Ā

With ceviche on the brain our main mission was to try at least two types of the seafood cuisine with a side of chilli chicken wings, pork ribs and charred nutty broccoli.Ā

Not forgetting to mention the fantastic cocktail list with happy hour. Happy hour?! Yes you are reading this right. Although we did have the one hour to sneak in as many as possible so this wasn't going to be a hard task I must say.Ā

Having a weird obsession with egg whites and cocktails at the moment, the Pisco sour is an ideal choice and judging by the amount been carried past the table, I wasn't the only one with exceptional taste.Ā

The ceviche is actually pretty damn good. A first for me to be eating raw sea bream and tigers milk, it was certainly a dish worth trying with real freshness incorporated with mouth watering juices. Same goes for the other meat dishes. Although a struggle to cut in half, the ribs were succulent in the aji amarillo BBQ sauce, which hit the spot nicely.Ā

Their dessert menu is scarce with only two items to choose from but you cant go wrong with a classic brownie, especially when it is almost the size of a dinner plate. I had to wonder for a moment if it was really necessary to have ordered. Ahh probably not.

All in all this place is tip top, especially if you just want a quick, no fuss after work feed. Rammed with the hip and the trendy, its boisterous vibe gives you that sense of what it would be like eating in the bustling streets of down town Lima.

Well, in London surprises happen all the time, and SeƱor Ceviche is a big one. SeƱor Ceviche is fantastic. It really is. As far as I am concerned you are a fool if you donā€™t like Peruvian food and in particular Ceviche. Since this new wave of South American cuisine hit London a few years ago the commonly attached price tag was a justifiable excuse to not indulge in it regularly. Casa del SeƱor Ceviche changes this and made it affordable even at lunch times.

We arrived at the start of a seemingly quiet lunch service- there was none of the hiss bang shenanigans I was anticipating, but a reliable source tells me thatā€™s usually reserved for the after work crowd who really know how to get the cocktails flowing. I had high expectations; itā€™s another pop-up gone permanent, has a strong following, and Time Out named one of their ceviches on their list of top ten dishes for 2014!? High praise indeed. Iā€™ll admit the garishly bright graffiti styled interior (is this really what downtown Lima looks like?) didnā€™t do anything for my appetite so thank goodness the menu did.

It only seemed right to start with a ceviche so first to hit the table was The Spaniard- sea bream, king prawns, chorizo and tomato tigers milk. Full disclosure: my fondness for barely cooked food means everything about a dish of fresh hunks of fish swimming in a sharp citrus marinade appeals to me. The Spaniard did not disappoint- the warm prawns were a highlight, while the only very slight let down was the chorizo that failed to make an impression. I didn't even remember it was supposed to be there until I read the menu again.

Next to arrive were the tamarind BBQ chicken anticuchos and the chifa chicaronnes- slow cooked crispy pork belly, both of which delivered well in flavour. The chicken anticuchos were covered in a sticky, sweet sauce and were anything but dry, while the crunchy pork belly may have erred on the side of dryness had it not been for the excellent meat to fat ratio of the pieces. Donā€™t judge me people, like the old adage ā€˜never trust a skinny chefā€™, I wouldnā€™t trust a skinny pig either when indulging in pork bellyā€¦ youā€™d be missing the point.

A bit more ceviche to cleanse the palate was required so we ordered the Senor Ceviche- sea bream in aji amarillo tigerā€™s milk, avocado and tempura baby squid. If the aji amarillo was supposed to add some heat, I didnā€™t get it but perhaps I have a higher tolerance than most. That aside, I loved the little crunch from the bitesized squid and continued to lapped up the morsels of sea bream while my dining companions weren't looking.

To round off the meal we ordered the flat iron anticucho, the chancaca salmon with fennel, and a side of patatas fritas with huancaina and tomato fondue. This is where I think we hit a wee bump in our Peruvian journey. My idea of anticuchos are meat skewers bursting with flavour from the mix of spices theyā€™ve been marinading it, with a touch of smokiness from the grill. While I canā€™t fault the tenderness of the meat, these felt like they had barely touched salt and pepper let alone the spicy aji rocotto or anything else.

The chancaca salmon, glazed with a fail proof combination of miso and brown sugar was pleasant enough but would have been a touch dry if it wasnā€™t for the fennel salad. Without a condiment in sight, the salmon was saved from being the drab wallflower in the corner by the light and airy fennel salad; together they were the perfect pair.

I'll confess that I really have a weakness for fries. Who can resist them? Sadly these barely deserve a mention- the first attempt were left sitting on the pass longer than ideal and arrived to the table cold and limp. The second attempt were hotter in temperature but not in appeal- take away the fancy names, itā€™s still just chips with cheese and tomato sauce. Fool me once...Ā

Despite some minor hiccups, our short jaunt to Peru was a good one. I could take or leave some of the other dishes, but I'd happily come back for the ceviches. The ingredients were fresh, the mix of textures made things a little interesting, and that eye-squintingly sharp tiger's milk pushed my sourness barriers to the max. But I loved it. Conveniently located in Kingly Court, Senor Ceviche is a great place to pop in for that well-deserved bite to eat and a cocktail after an arduous Oxford or Regent Street shopping trip! Salud!

Blogs are a funny thing; whether they reveal a lot or a little about a person's personal life, the author's character, interests and general demeanour somehow shows through. Because of this, I just knew that Tamsin from A Certain Adventure and I would hit it off if we ever had the chance to meet, after reading her blog for a while. Well back in December, we finally did it! Went on a blogging blind date, so to speak. Except in a strange way, it didn't feel like we were meeting for the first time, knowing such random details about each other's lives.

Obviously the occasion had to involve some good food, so we headed to SeƱor Ceviche to see what all the fuss was about. Located in Kingly Court, it's casual and slightly wacky, as shown with all the wall art. We went around 6pm and got seats right away, but I hear that it can get very busy at peak times.

We started with a couple of cocktails - they are Ā£5 before 7pm usually, which is a decent deal! I got the classic Pisco Sour and it was just the kind of drink I like - refreshing and not too sweet.

We were both really quite impressed with the food - we ordered a few dishes to share and every single one was delicious, especially the flat iron beef skewers which are a must if you go there. The ceviche dishes were flavourful, fresh and light, and I really couldn't fault anything.Ā

The dishes we ordered:
SenƵr Ceviche (sea bream ceviche)
The Spaniard (sea bream & king prawn ceviche)
Flat Iron Anticucho (beef skewers)
Pachamanca Pork Rib (pork belly rib)
Jalea Mixto (tempura squid, prawns & market fish)

Of course, after all that food we were still not done chattering away, so we headed elsewhere for dessert.. more on that soon.

If you're not yet a reader of Tamsin's blog, you're missing out. And you have my word that she is as lovely, interesting and fun as she seems!

Peruvian food, I do love you a little bit. Any suggestions on where to go next for a similar feast?

Fancy a nosey at my new favourite spot for a mid-week scoff? If you are looking for a place to eat out whilst staying on the Janurary health kick, I have a new joint in town that you certainly need to know about!

Tucked in the upper most corner of Kingly Court (Soho) is newbie Peruvian casa, Senior Ceviche. A fun and vibey spot, filled with colour, (from the traditional peruvian posters littering the walls) and a laid-back, relaxed energy. The restaurant only opened a month before I visited and even then tables were scarce for a quiet mid-week lunch. After hearing so much, I headed down with the lovely Charmaine, the pr mastermind behind the restaurant to check it out. We first met a while ago and I and bonded from the get go over our dry, British humour and a love of good food. Our meetings are certainly frequent, but always so enjoyable!

The menu and food is inspired the the different regions and traditional cuisines of Peru, each with a unique twist. Even for the raw fish skeptics, there was more then enough in the menu to tempt. Including superfood quinoa salads, charred chicken, sticky n saucy ribs, as well as the classic tasty tiraditos, saucy ceviche dishes and killer cocktailsā€¦ I don;t know why iā€™m dilly dallyingā€¦ Lets dive in shall we?!

The first plates out of the kitchen were the cold ceviches and (Mr Miyaki) the salmon tiradito. We went for the Spaniard, a peruvian-Spanish fusion dish of king prawns, crispy chorizo and sea bream in a tomato spicy citrus marinade. A great dish for anyone that is new to ceviche, as it echoes familiar Spanish flavours and has a little more texture to get the teeth around, aside from raw fish.

We also went for the Limeno Classico. A dish of sea bream in tigers milk (chilli marinade) with the classic garnish of sweet potato, red onion and coriander. Light and fresh, the only thing I thought would have made it better would have been a little sprikling of Canchita, the Peruvian crunchy corn, which works so well with a more classic ceviche.

And also the Senor Ceviche, the restaurants signature dish with avocado and tempura squid, and the thin wafers of tiradito salmon. Both delicious and beautifully presented. I particularly liked the addition of the crispy salmon skin on the tiradito, adding saltiness and crunch.

To follow was the beets n greens, quinoa fresco, the pink pickled cabbage (my fave) and the chancaca salmon to share. The combination I liked most was the salmon and the pink cabbage, the sharpness of the pickle, cutting through the rich oiliness of the fish. With a few grains of quinoa for nuttiness and texture and I had one heck of a melange on my fork! Without a doubt the cocktail to order would be the pisco sour. Perhaps I am biasing it as my favourite because it is the one and onlyā€¦ undoubtedly a trip back to try the rest will be required at some point!

Despite the business and bustle, the service was superb and we rolled out happy customers. Not before a shot of rocket fuel to set us up for an afternoon of work ahead.

Me and a friend visited SeƱor Ceviche at around 4.30pm on a Thursday when we were extremely hungover. After wandering around for around half an hour deciding what we wanted to eat we thought we'd give it a shot. The restaurant is very welcoming, as soon as you walk in the music and the ambience are really pleasant.Ā
What I was less impressed with though was the hosting. There was only 1 table of two eating when we entered, the rest of the restaurant was empty. However, she decided to sit us right next to them instead of somewhere a bit more spacious. The next table that came in was then seated on the other side of us! We even heard them say 'can we sit on the other side please?' and they were told that they couldn't. I don't know if they had a lot of reservations but to me at 4pm this seems a bit silly and its not like we're going to be there all night. Also another thing that bothered me was the hostess telling us as we were being seated that we had to be gone by 7pm. Now i know that two and a half hours is plenty of time to eat but I think its a bit cheeky to give your guests a time limit!Ā

The waitress then came over immediately and she was much more pleasant. There are a lot of words on the menu that we didn't have a clue about and she explained absolutely everything in detail to us and wasn't impatient at all - very very knowledgable. She told us about the happy hour and recommended 2 cocktails which we had - the Nasca Heat & Ayahuasca which were really tasty. The Nasca heat had a big spicy kick which I loved and the Ayahuasca was a tall cocktail which had fruity flavours. She then explained the menu and said usually people get 2 or 3 dishes each and share them. We weren't sure how hungry we were so this was a good thing for us.

We decided to go for 3 starters to share and then 1 of the main dishes each. We had the chicharonnes, the citrus wings and the jalea mixto. All of them were absolutely delicious. The one thing I can say about this place is the flavours are incredible. You can really taste everything that goes into the sauces and each sauce went together perfectly with its dish. My favourite starter were the chicharonnes, the pork belly was meaty and had a sticky sauce topped with spring onion. The mixed seafood dish was great too with the fish pretty much melting in your mouth, the jalapeƱo tigers milk had a subtle spice to it which was a welcome treat!

The mains were just as good and after the tastes of the starters we couldn't wait to dig in! I had the BBQ chicken skewers. When it came it looked quite small and I wasn't sure I'd be satisfied but the pieces of chicken were decent in size and after the 2 skewers I was just about full and they tasted great.
My friend decided she wanted to try their speciality - the ceviche. She told the waitress she'd never had it before and was recommended the classic dish: LimeƱo Classico. It looked very appetising, but I'm not really a fan of raw fish so I wasn't tempted. However my friend said it was an interesting texture and the sauce(again) was the the best part with a tangy flavour that really complimented the fish.Ā

Sadly we had no room for dessert, however the table next to us did and I must say they looked amazing!

Overall I'd definitely recommend this restaurant. The menu isn't very big but in Soho thats normal anyway, and you can tell because of this the quality of the food is much better. Aside from the hostess situation to begin with we had a really pleasant time and I'd definitely return. Thanks!

We Love Food, It's All We Eat

My first experience of ceviche was only this summer at Tierra peru, a stall at the Campo Viejo Streets of Spain festival and I loved it! Although ceviche has a Spanish heritage, itā€™s actually a seafood dish popular in the coastal regions of the central and south America. Made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices and spiced with ajĆ or chili peppers ā€“ but you probably knew that already.

So when we found out that SeƱor Ceviche, the ridiculously popular Peruvian pop-up thatā€™s been doing the rounds, had found a permanent home in Kingly Court, we simply had to go. Kingly Court is tucked behind Carnaby Street and is now pretty much one big food court. What used to be three floors of boutique shops has been transformed into a real foodie destination, with the likes of Whyte & Brown, Pizza Pilgrims, The Rum Kitchen, Stax Diner, Bittersweet and Shoryu flanking the pretty covered courtyard.

We visited on a wet and windy evening but walking into SeƱor Ceviche made us forget all about the autumnal drizzle. Itā€™s decor is said to ā€˜evoke the vibe of downtown Limaā€™. Not that weā€™ve ever been to downtown Lima, or even uptown Lima come to that, so we wouldnā€™t know. What we did know was that the low lighting and welcoming smiles took our minds off the miserable weather outside. We werenā€™t the only ones who felt this way, the restaurant was full, we saw at least two couples (who hadnā€™t booked) turned away.

So Londonā€™s obsession with filament bulbs and industrial light shades must come from Peru, as does up-cycled wooden wall panelling and exposed pipe work. The decor that did seem fairly authentic were the brightly coloured tiles, distressed window shutters, neon posters and a salsa soundtrack. The lighting was a little low (half of the bulbs werenā€™t even on) and the music a little loud (now I do sound old) but donā€™t let this put you off, for the food here is great!

If you thought big bowls of steaming noodles were the 2014 scoff-geist of our pretty little town, think again old friend. Thereā€™s an altogether fisher, limier little number capturing the hearts and bellies of millions (ok maybe thousands.) Mention this dish to any self-respecting Soho food-junkie and Iā€™ll bet you theyā€™ll respond with, ā€˜Darling I looooove serveechayy!ā€™ or the like.

To be honest Iā€™ve groaned a similar battlecry ever since Martin Morales helped me purge some Peruvian demons, so am excited to see how SeƱor Ceviche fairs. And what better way to put their food to the test than to bring my half-Chilean hombre along with me, whose mother does the best ceviche & seafood empanadas this side of Valparaiso. Actual.

Street food is the name of the game here. You can tell SeƱor C. started life as a pop-up, opting for a fast-paced, lively dining experience over something more formal. Whilst this gives the place a really vibrant and dynamic feel, the ā€˜comes when it comesā€™ tapas approach proves to be almost too fast on our visit. Our seven dishes whizzed onto our table in a delicious but frantic whirlwind of colours and flavours; I could barely reset my Instagram filter before the next one appeared.

Plates are designed to be small, so Iā€™d say you need at least three each to keep the hanger at bay. First up was the Limeno classico ceviche which we were suitably convinced theyā€™d nailed, dousing chunks of sea bream in tigerā€™s milk (the lime and chili marinade that cures the fish ā€“ not to be confused with Kingā€™s Landing medicinals) to make for delightfully sharp and tender mouthfuls. Kernels of semi-popped corn added a nice unexpected crispness.

Equally lip smacking, the signature SeƱor Ceviche upped the ante with lovely tempura squid spirals giving extra bite. There wasnā€™t a lot of variation on the earlier plate other than this and the addition of avocado, not that I was complaining (note to self: should I be able to differentiate a tigerā€™s milk made from aji limo chilies and one made from aji amarillo chilies? Possibly. I should probably pack this in right now.)

The pace picks up as the pisco sours go down. Smokey chilli citrus wings are addictively hot and sour from the aji panca chili & lemon glaze.

Outrageous tasty lollipop anticuchos, fat skewers of tamarind BBQ chicken, then big juicy pink flatiron pieces, are smothered in a spicy sauce.

Letā€™s take a moment to breathe in two particular creations. The first being the slow cooked BBQ pork belly ribs, a star anise-infused, sticky-fingered victory from start to finish.

The second transported me back to the first time I tried sashimi and couldnā€™t believe how clean and smooth a sensation it was. Mr Miyagi was as masterful a dish as its namesake; thin slices of salmon marinated in a soy- and mirin- laden Nikkei tigerā€™s milk (named after the first boat that brought Japanese migrants to Peru), prettily adorned with purple shiso leaves and pomegranate seeds. Iā€™d look favourably on any restaurant that strategically crow-barred a Karate Kid reference into their menu, let alone one that introduced me to tiradito so expertly.

If youā€™ve room for dessert then youā€™ve not tried hard enough. The choice is limited to two puds (clearly they donā€™t expect anyone to get that far) ā€“ the passion fruit posset should not be overlooked though, intensely fruity cream with some popping candy thrown on top for good measure. The chocolate brownie is more commonplace, perked up by a light but fragrant coconut ice cream.

The key to Senor Cevicheā€™s success is in its simplicity. This is a younger, more energetic beast than Ceviche, taking standard Peruvian classics and elevating them into standout morsels. Itā€™s not as cheap as the street food vibe may infer; at around Ā£8 a dish and cocktails about the same price, youā€™ll ably spend a lot more than you did in Cusco on your gap yah. Iā€™m sure youā€™ll think it as soon as you get hooked by the cut of its jib and rightly so. FYI go for a Nazca Heat or a margarita-esque Mamacita with fresh jalapeƱo, tipples to pleasantly set your lips on fire.

Ever since I came back from Peru, I've had an obsession with ceviche. Although SeƱor Ceviche had been around for quite some time as a pop up, I had never tried it before. For some odd reason I had built up my expectations and usually that results in disappointment - not this time.

First of all, I love the location in Kingly Court! The exterior as well as interior are so colourful and funky, nothing fancy, just really laid back - street style. They have a counter you can sit at and watch the chefs cook, if that's your thing.Ā

I tried the Limeno Classico with sea bream, sweet potato, coriander, red onion, peruvian corn and the classic limo tiger's milk. Flawless is all I will say about this dish, its just how it should be.

And of course SeƱor Ceviche. Its essentially a classic ceviche with a little twist. I was so pleasantly surprised by the crispy tempura baby squid added. It went incredibly well with the sea bream and the sauce. My only complaint is that I wish the dishes were more generous. They are small and very light (almost like a starter) so you won't get full on just one dish. Ā

Let's not forget about my favourite drink Pisco Sour - although its much lighter than what I had in Peru, it did live up the drink that I remember. This drink is meant to get to you so fast you won't even know what hit you, but I guess they don't make it that strong for obvious reasons... shame!

The service was great and so was the ambiance. There are not many restaurants I leave and don't have a negative thing to say, but this is of them. My hunt for authentic ceviche in London is over, I found it right here
NOTE: They close at 3 and open again for dinner at 5.30 (reserve to avoid disappointment)

SeƱor Ceviche heads to Soho

South American inspired restaurants are springing up all over London. I feel it could well be taking over from the burger/American diner craze London has seen in recent years; especially considering healthy eating is all the rage with #MeatlessMonday and veganism.

Having visited their pop up stalls at various locations in the capital, I couldnā€™t wait to check out their new permanent restaurant in Soho Kingly court.

Earlier in the week I had dined at Pachamama (another new Peruvian restaurant), but I have to say SeƱor Ceviche won hands down; in ALL respects.

Located in Kingly Court, its interior is inspired by Limaā€™s party district Barranco and it has Latin American music blasting out; the result is a fun and lively atmosphere.

Ā The food/drinks menu is already available on the table when you are seated, so no issues with having to wait for this to be brought across to you. One of my pet hates at restaurants is hanging about waiting for the drinks menu, especially during a busy service on a Friday night after a long hard week at work. I want to be able to order my drink PRONTO. Another pet hate is hard butter; no matter how great the bread cart selection is, if itā€™s accompanied by a slab of hard butter, it totally ruins it for me (Iā€™m not demanding at all, promise)!!!Ā

I went for one of their seƱor frozen pisco sours with passion fruit. I would highly recommend it, a bit like an alcoholic slush puppyā€¦great on a balmy day in Oct!

Portions are tapas size so we decided to order a couple of dishes from each of the sections.

I would highly recommend the Chifa Chicharonnes ā€“ slow cooked crispy pork belly with sweet soya sauce, although prepare for them to be super salty and crunchy (make sure you have sturdy teeth too, on the same level as VERY hard pork cracking). The pork belly went well with the Jalea mixto with Jalepeno tigerā€™s milk ā€“ tempura baby squid, prawns and market squid added a different dimension to the usual ceviches youā€™re probably used to ordering.

Ā Iā€™m currently obsessed with ceviche so asked for what they would recommend and we were advised to go for the seƱor ceviche which is their signature dish. Again the sea bream had been poached to perfection in right level of acidic lime with fresh coriander and ajĆ amarillo. Make sure you order a salad too to mop up the remaining tiger milk as there is plenty. I would suggest going for the Cusco Quinoa Salad ā€“ roasted veg, edamame beans, giant choclo sweetcorn topped with crumbly queso cheese (a Peruvian cow/goatā€™s milk cheese).Ā

Ā Other stand out dishes were both from the Peruvian BBQ section; the flat iron steak and Super chicken, which I can honestly say is probably one of the best chicken dishes Iā€™ve had at a South American restaurant ever. Chargrilled chicken served with a aji rocotto mayo. The sauce has everything I love in it, spiciness from rocoto chile peppers, creaminess from the mayo and plenty of limeā€¦great smothered on any form of meat.Ā

I could have ordered more when we had finished but wasnā€™t able to as the kitchen had just closed at 3pm, bummer. However without doubt I will be back! Something very rare for me.Ā

Overall review

ā€¢Great atmosphere, cocktail menu and outstanding service. All dishes came out super-fast and considering I went during their soft launch period when things are still new and the place is trying to find its feet, is pretty impressive.

ā€¢ALL dishes ordered were full of flavour and more importantly complemented each other.

ā€¢Cost ā€“ not overly expensive like some other Peruvian restoā€™s like Lima, Coya or Pachamama and food is better (in my opinion!).

ā€¢Great for groups as dishes are tapas sized; so great for sharing.

ā€¢Try to nab a seat by the counter as you can then watch all the open kitchen action, Great for any food lover! :)

Since attending a popup of theirs a couple years back, I'd been a fan of Senor Ceviche and indeed I credit them for really introducing me to how good the Peruvian cuisine really could be. With a beautiful combination of zesty and tangy flavours, the meal was a workout for the tastebuds and left them dancing long after the meal was over and done with. So when they announced that they were opening up a permanent setup in the trendy Kingly Court off Carnaby St, a return visit shot right up my "must go" list.

Dining with 3 others, we were able to work our way through the majority of the menu, starting with the Jalea Mixto (tempura seafood) all the way through to the passion fruit posset.

Reading this review, you will sense an overriding theme which is that everything was "fresh". In fact, there is a real danger that I will overuse the word so much that you will question the depth of my vocabulary. Unfortunately though, there is no better way to describe the dishes served - they were fantastically fresh.

The ceviche of Limeno Classico, the signature Senor Ceviche & Chimbote were all beautiful with the signature being the pick of the bunch but the real show stopper of the meal was the wicked Super Chicken - chargrilled chicken served with aji rocotto mayonnaise. It was so good, we order an additional plate to the first and contemplated a third. So needless to say, I kind of enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Other dishes to look out for though are the flat iron steak skewers with aji pancha sauce and the pachamanca pork ribs with pink pickled cabbage.

However, among my party was a vegetarian and dining with her gave me a perspective of the menu I would otherwise not consider. On this front, I found the menu lacking with only one vegetarian "main" the Cimbote which, though lovely, isn't sufficient. I note there are sides of the patatas fritas and quinoa which are veggie friendly.

All up a good meal which met my expectations. Delicious food which all tasted very clean and yes, fresh. I attended the soft launch so food was 50% off and the food portion of the bill came to Ā£54. So in reality, Ā£108 for 4 people? Still not bad given quality and location. I'll definitely be making a return visit.

I went here for a date with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. The area is quite nice, as there are many other restaurants around and is quite lively, in Central London. We went to this restaurant on a Monday and even with reservation took them a few minutes to give us a table, as it gets quite busy. It is not very big inside and you might be seated very close to other tables. The decoration is quite nice and it feels cozy. For the food, we did the From Lima With Love menu. It was good, as we tried a few things and new flavours and it was tasty, but it is not a lot of quantity, so I wouldn't recommend for hungry people. The pairing cocktails were quite good as well. Maybe my least favourite part was the dessert, too strong chocolate flavour mousse. Overall it was a nice experience.

Came here at lunch time and tried the lunch tasting menu, very good value for money. The food was lovely, even got to try and like a few dishes I would never have normally ordered, would recommend!

Great place with delicious honest food served by the Chef in real ā€œquick timeā€! Prices are very reasonable - theyā€™re reflective of the high quality and effort level of the dishes - as it indeed should be; and not by quantity šŸ˜€ 3x dishes per person leaves one quite sated and happy! Food was delicious, cocktails too. We were 5 and 4 of us were super satisfied. One friend said her spare ribs were little bit dry. But everything else were good šŸ‘

Definitely worth a visit, just once though. Great food and really friendly service. We had the tasting menu (From Lima with Love) which was quite filling but we were 6 people and were given 3 of each dish. We even had to eat dessert from the same bowl (Yes they did still charge us for 6 people). Food definitely tasted alright but the price isn't justified by any of that. As for the atmosphere, it's quite loud but not enough to hinder conversations. Honestly, wouldn't be going back there unless someone is treating me.

The food was incredible !!!! Good portion and beautiful lay out! So glad we came here! Would come back just for pork belly and ceviche!!! So glad I found this place on Google map, but they should add that they are on the second floor!! Took me a while to find them. The Cocktails we ordered was just ok though, maybe because it was 2 for 1 happy hour order. Very fast and attentive service. The interior was nicely tastefully designed. The only down side is the table size, it felt very cramped and tables are too close to each other. We paid Ā£60+ for 3 dishes, a dessert and a side plue happy hour drinks. Very worthy, would recommend!!

Had a really lovely time at seƱor ceviche. From the moment you arrive the staff are incredibly welcoming. I was the first of our party to arrive and the staff were really attentive. The lovely waitress was really good at recommending cocktails on the 2-4-1 happy hour 5-7pm, then she talked through the a la carte menu. The drinks were great, there are some which gave a lovely kick with the hint of chilli šŸŒ¶ļø the mamacita margarita. The seƱorita was my personal favourite! The food OMG what can I say each bite was filled with flavour and so so good! Mouth-watering greatness tickled and danced on my tastebuds. Everything was just superb. It was great to be able to be seated and watch the staff in the open kitchen prepare all of the wonderful dishes for patrons. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and colourful. Located within Kingly Court on the first floor, if you have any disabilities be aware there is no lifts, only stairs. A really great place and I highly recommend a visit.

We had the tasting menu and found all the items were well thought out and gave a great overview. Delicious flavors executed and presented well, service was polite. The only problem was that it was a hit loud to be able to hear each other across the table, although this is common.
