A cosy Italian tapas restaurant in Victoria based on a sharing concept. The food is served in small portions and they are quite tasty. The only problem I can say, it's a very noisy restaurant. I don't know why, maybe because of the acoustic, but it is a bit annoying.
I found this restaurant by chance, and I liked it so much, I was alone and I sat on the bar, all the staff was so friendly and helpful to the way that I asked for a fruit salad (not on the menu) and they made it for me. Dishes are of small portions which I found it very nice as you can get to taste many of their delicious food. I found the price to be very reasonable for a fine dining place like this restaurant. Yes I do recommend it
It's a good spot to have a business lunch or a date. You can more or less control how much you spend as they have dishes in all price brackets. Food is good and even being Italian they have some not as traditional or not as famous food that lets you discover new recipes with gusto.
The only criticism is that some of the staff must get some pep talk in the beginning of the day "listen lads today you need to sell this cocktail or that drink" and they then try too hard to have you order x or y.
I'll be coming back. Reliable.
First tapa-style Italian place Ive been to - and it makes perfect sense. No longer need to dwell on the eternal dilemma of whether to settle for pasta, rissotto, pizza or a meat dish - you can have them all at Tozi. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable and has a contemporary rustic feel to it. The small pizza was amazing; it looked so adorable you could not have the heart to it. The baby chicken was also good and the accompanying gravy was rich and hearty. Summer salad was very refreshing and the big truffle risotto plate at the end was simply sensational. The four of us dug in and absolutely loved it. I just wished they had more pizza and pasta options in the menu as it seemed too crammed with appetizer dishes instead. Finished it off with a delightful almond mille feuille. Will definitely come again. £40 a person.
An Italian joint that isn’t just pizza and pasta, Tozi is another one of those to join the ranks of the small plates trend. You can barely fall over in London now without landing nose-first into a small plates sort of restaurant, Bocca Di Lupo is one that immediately springs to mind that does the Italian sharing concept oh so well, but there are so so many more to choose from.
After a six hour lunch / drinks with old friends, this is a wonderful meeting place. Very spacious, great service, interesting menu with small but high quality tapas style sharing portions. As always the bar bill can add considerable cost to the final bill but you certainly get what you pay for in a very relaxing restaurant close to Victoria Station.
My friend Gina always discovers some of the best spots in London for a good meal and in the last couple of years we have been dining out together to try out some of these spots of good food. Usually, given our heritage, we go for Italian. Tozi in Victoria does not disappoint and is fairly authentic.
True Italian restaurant. We had a selection of starters and a main each. Everything was very good, and the price is reasonable. Location is pretty.
A couple weeks back I went to TOZI an Italian tapas restaurant in Victoria. Venetian concept with modern look, great service, and interesting menu. We went for a bit of everything in the menu...
nice food and superb service. we had different share plates and a main per person. a bit expensive but quite normal for london. drinks are made with inventive and with high quality of alcohol. I would recommend it.
Tozi is a great Italian restaurant (as you might have guessed!) just across from Victoria station in the Park Plaza Hotel. It's a great place to park yourself for the afternoon for a great lunch and some pretty comfy seats.
We had only planned to nip in for a long-ish lunch and then head out for a wander and explore a bit, but a combination of the rain outside, the great service and the atmosphere meant that we just didn't move for hours!
As always when mum and I head out (or even stay in!) we started with a cheeky glass of wine (with me being very conscious that I had present myself as a reputable British citizen in a mere matter of hours to collect my passport!)
What a joy. You would never believe this restaurant sits under a Park Plaza Hotel. The food is fantastic - the equivalent of Italian tapas, with the option to choose lots of smaller dishes. Incredible seafood pasta, burrata and everything else. Very friendly efficient service, nice bar - a joy to finally find somewhere in Victoria that is not catering to tourists unlikely to ever return. The pictures on this page look mildly nasty - the actual food does no. Please go.
The service, atmosphere and food at Tozi was amazing- I can't recommend them enough! Get yourself there before everyone knows about them!
In the past those visiting crappy theatre shows such as Billy Elliot & Wicked in Pimlico would be doubly disappointed once they found out that not only had they seen bad theatre, they would also have to travel quite a bit in order to find a decent bite to eat. Well we're glad to report that at least from now on the theatre going public have an excellent option in the area when it comes to food.
So maybe my problem isn't with Tozi at all. Maybe it's that Italian food in London generally seems increasingly prescribed. There seems to be this very strict formula - the same dishes offered in exactly the same way, the same ingredients treated identically, even the same price ranges, and a distinct unwillingness to stick your head above the parapet and do something different.
As I'm still "pretty new" to London there certain areas that I don't know
quite well. Or maybe that I've passed by and maybe done some sctivity there
but never explored in terms of food. One of this was Victoria.
I've been there to see Billy Eliot and when the show was finished and we were
litterally starving it was almost 11PM. So we've looked around and truly if you
don't know the area is quite difficult to spot immediately a good place to eat, especially at 11 probaby.
So when yesterday night two friend of us suggested to go out for dinner near Victoria
I was quite doubtfull.
And then comes . I think that if you don’t know the place you probably wouldn’t really spot it.
FOOD: So the idea is dish sharing. Food is italian. The menu is divided into categories, breads, charcuteries, pasta, fried food…etc.. Every plate comes in small portion and I would say that you have to order at least 3 dishes each.
The quality and the food is very good. I probably would suggest in the bread category the Pizzetta and the Schiacciata, in the pasta one the truffle ravioli and in the meat one the ox stew. Fritto misto was too oily I think.
Wine is expensive but sharing a bottle if four was fine in the end. Desserts are good as well, the fig tart was very interesting.
PLACE: Is a bit poshy and you pay for it. But in general is very good to talk, calm and quiet, The design is modern and tables are spacious.
PRICE: So in 4, with wine and dessert we went of 40£ each. Not bad, is not exactly 20 each but you get very good food and I was quite satisfied. If you love to eat a lot is probably not your place, portions are not huge, though it really depends what you order. But in general i think for sharing is enough.
I would probably o back for another chatty night with friends again.
My knowledge of Victoria extends to the station, the walk towards Sloane Square and little else. It's not a part of town I usually frequent but when Italian restaurant, Tozi, invited me down I knew it was time for the journey.
Tucked down a side street, Tozi is a sprawling yet bustling restaurant and bar serving up cicchetti - Venetian small plates that you could compare to tapas. Food service is split between two open kitchens; one focuses on the grilled, baked and wood oven offerings on the menu whilst the other rustles up the counter and salad plates. We went on a Thursday night and the atmosphere was buzzing with couples on dates, groups of girls catching up and post-work diners yet service was impeccable, with friendly waiters and waitresses unobtrusively bringing each dish to the table as soon as it was ready.
We were tempted by the cocktails - a combination of classics and house favourites - but reached straight for the Italian-only wine list. Ever since a trip to the region last year, I eagerly seek out Puglian wines on menus and Tozi didn't disappoint with a lovely bottle of Nero di Troia.
We then moved onto the food, and after a few recommendations from our host, chose eight plates to share. There are larger dishes on the menu (lobster linguine, braised osso bucco, ribs of beef) but after filling up on the focaccia (slightly dry) and moreish olive oil and balsamic syrup, we stuck to our guns and stayed sensible.
First up, the wild boar salsiccia. Melt in the mouth smooth with fennel and star anise running through, I could happily eat this by the fistful. Thankfully for my dining companion, I was more restrained but he did give me the last slice. Accompanying this was the burrata (another thing I always order if it's on the menu) which came deliciously creamy and with just enough give. Served with heritage tomatoes, a grind of salt and pepper brought the flavours to life.
Next up, piadina with parma ham, stracchino and rocket and tuna tartare with lots of fresh lime. Arriving at the same time, these dishes couldn't have been more different from each other but they worked so well - the classic Italian flavours of meat and cheese were complemented by the zingy freshness of the fish. S, who's never been tempted by tuna tartare before, is now a total convert and I scraped the bowl for the last morsels.
Then came the pasta. Difficult to photograph but hugely easy to eat and almost demand more of. The buffalo ricotta ravioli with black truffle was criminally smooth, rich and buttery - simple enough ingredients but cooked so well we were lost in mutual appreciation for quite some time. The wild mushroom cannelloni was pleasingly earthy with the flavours of the fungi coming through the creamy, cheesy sauce. The pasta, homemade of course, was cooked brilliantly and finished off al forno naturally.
Our last two dishes were the gratinated scallop, Venetian style, and the ox cheeks. The scallop was cooked just right and topped with a crisp crust and a swirl of salsa verde. S wasn't so keen on the green but I liked the added flavour that offset the meat of the fish and the toasted crumb. The braised ox cheeks with girolles and red wine sauce was his clear winner - the meat was deliciously soft and melted right off the tongue. The red wine sauce was more of a jus, balancing the creaminess of the mash potatoes with just enough richness to bring the whole dish together in what was probably S's plate of the night.
At this point we realised we'd definitely made the right decision to not order a further mountain of food. There was just enough room for dessert though. S had the chocolate and amaretto bonet - a typical dessert from Piedmont that's made in a similar way to a creme caramel. Accompanied by a boozy sauce, cream and crumbled amaretti, this was almost the last hoorah. I could just about manage the affogato - simple but effective and just enough to keep me awake for the taxi schlep home east.
I'll admit that my expectations of Tozi were mixed before I visited as the website seriously underplays how good this place is. From the modern interior, friendly staff and excellent food, Tozi is a real find and I'll definitely be making the journey all the way over to Victoria just for this place again and again and again. Five out of five.
One of the joys of starting a new job are 'welcome drinks'. And when the choice of venue of such welcome drinks offers 'on tap prosecco', you know you've chosen the right job. Tozi is a great place to congregate with colleagues or a crew of friends for a post work drink, and being in Victoria, it means the journey home is pretty easy for everyone, even those living outside of London.
The appearance is smart, presentable and civilised, with a restaurant tucked around the back for those searching for a substantial supper, and a bar at the front for those happy with a liquid dinner.
We were well attended to by the waiting staff and were quite free to take over a large majority of the front bar. The waitress was keen to keep our glasses filled and went running for extra bottles as soon as she saw the last drops being poured into someone's glass. On our arrival, we were served prosecco and then swopped for a refreshing Rose. To nibble alongside our drinks, we had meat platters, mini (but cheesey) pizzas, and some interesting fried patties containing sundried tomato and melted mozzarella; probably not the most cleansing, but every tipsy/hungry person's dream! Food came out nicely sporadically, so just as soon as you thought you were done, then arrived another plate of nibbly goodness. Calamari, a bread basket, zucchini fries... although none of us had a massive plate infront of us, we were all sufficiently sated (and wobbly) to sink straight into bed as soon as we got home.
The staff were happy to see us, the ambience light and surprisingly busy for a Monday night. With a sense of sophistication, it is appropriate for a date or work drink, and is nicely hidden from annoying tourists or the mass of people that you'll find in Viccy station. A hidden gem, and ideal for those staying in the Plaza next door.
Fabulous food, excellent service.
Nice atmosphere and just perfect
A truly nice experience. Went with two friends on a Saturday evening, booked in advance ( imperative to do so since the place is usually packed with people waiting outside). Staff is peppy and chatty, food is absolutely first class and true Italian from many different regions. It’s missing the 5 stars for a few main flaws in my opinion: the portions are tiny even for a gourmet restaurant (and ridiculously small for an Italian restaurant), this means one needs to order multiple portions of the same dish. This means the bill is hefty in any case even if you don’t order the extra portions. This almost makes it not great in terms of value for money. In the end we all felt we had eaten well but something was missing. The venue could not be better also, it’s quiet but not silent with just the right amount of light.
In summary I would recommend this restaurant if you like genuine Italian food and need a very nice and relaxing ambiance.
Organised a birthday dinner for a friend and had the set menu which did not disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant is cosy and intimate and the dishes were generous and delicious. Our personal favourite was the truffle ravioli!
Really enjoyable meal. I turned up with no reservation and even though they couldn’t seat me in the restaurant they were able to seat me at the bar. Really helpful staff who explained the menu. It’s tapas style and I had three plates, all excellent, I would recommend.
Great food very good quality stefano and Angela were very welcoming and the suggest us a good selection of food and a fine white vermentino.
highly recommended
We had a lovely evening here. The staff were excellent and the food was beautiful. Lots of small plates for sharing and tasting different things. Loved it.
Before I write anything else know this - the Tiramisu here is absolutely sublime, the best I've ever had. Most of the menu is small plates then a few bigger sharing plates. We got one sharing plate of cured meats and cheese, and then 4 small plates which seemed the perfect amount if you're hungry for dinner. Both desserts were great, but the Tiramisu was a definite highlight. On top of all that there is a nice cocktail menu and incredibly friendly staff. Very much recommended!
Had a lovely dinner at Tozi, service was impeccable (probably one of the best we had in London) and food was really good. We ordered 6 plates for 2 people and I think it was the right quantity. The only dish we could skip in the future was the calamari- all others were really good. We also loved their pistachio tiramisu. Overall, strongly recommend Tozi as a nice dining spot near Victoria station. We ended up spending 65£ per person so it’s not cheap but it’s worth it.
We had a great lunch with a friend at TOZI. I’m Italian and I’m very critical of Italian restaurants in UK but in this case I loved everything of this restaurant. From the welcoming atmosphere, to the lovely waitress being very attentive, to the amazing food. There’s plenty of choice for pescatarians like me. I’ll definitely come back.
Have to say, having stayed at the hotel for a week, wasn't expecting much from Tozi give the less than average breakfast but I have to admit that their food is better than expected beyond that.
Fully recommend the aubergine pharma which was great and prompted me to take the photo despite having dug in already. Apols for the gruesome sight...
Absolutely amazing the food was delicious and the service was excellent, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great dining experience. Sofia was very professional, welcoming and helpful. Nice cocktails, amazing food. Wild boar pasta and the panacotta were over the top. We felt the whole team was in sync so that we had the best experience but they never were to much on top of us, sometimes this balance is difficult to achieve and I congratulate the team for it.
Magnificent Italian restaurant with plates to share, lovely wine and very professional and nice service. I loved especially the fried zucchini sticks, crunchy and fresh.
The food was absolutely divine! I went with my brother and we had a lovely lunch. For us, the standout dish was the octopus with the chickpea puree and fennel, which tasted incredible! A great recommendation from our waiter. I'd love to go back sometime and try some of the other dishes on the menu.
Back to my favourite Italian lunch spot! Delicious authentic food with portion choices making it ideal for lunch. Never disappoints!
- Ricotta truffle ravioli
- Burrata
- Parma ham
- Avocado salad
- Baby chicken with the best potatoes*
A forever favourite!
We were at the Theatre yesterday evening (to see Wicked, it was BRILLIANT!!) and wanted to grab something lovely to eat beforehand!
We came across Tozi whilst googling the area and were sucked in by the menu straight away!
We ate at the counter in the bar area, but both the bar and the restaurant are beautiful to look at, really well laid out, with loads of space and stylish fixtures!!
The staff are courteous and very friendly and all seem very knowledgeable and on the ball..no hunting someone down to get you a drink in Tozi!! 👍🏻
The food was delicious!! We enjoyed every single mouthful. In essence it’s Italian style tapas.. so we decided to get 5/6 plates to share and it was more than enough as the portions are a good size!!
The quality of the menu did make it tough to narrow our choices down to just 5/6, but that just gives us all the more reason to go back and dine again!! 👏🏻✊🏻
Definitely get the Tuna Tartare if you visit, sublime!! 😍
Our fave things: Oddly we really loved the crockery 🤦🏼♂️, but also the food… the whole dining experience was excellent!
📍🚇 | Just a 5 minute walk from Victoria tube station
Small plate vibe but can switch to larger plates fir the mains, Nice food.
The overall experience was quite nice! The staff was helpful and booked everything over the phone. The tables are round which are nice for small groups so that everyone can talk. The food is good and the portions are ideal for a tapas style dinner (don't order 1 dish for 1 person or you will starve). The preparation was quick and the dishes kept coming. The deserts were nice too! I recommend this restaurant for a business dinner.
Such a beautiful restaurant. The staff is so friendly. We were running to a show after and they made sure we were finished when we needed to be. The food was incredible!
