We went to this place for a business meeting arranged by the GM. Service was very good, friendly and professional. We were served by several different staff members. Ambience was a really pleasing. The great deal of variety on the menu made the restaurant more appealing. From our order I liked prawn stroganoff. I also liked the choice of breads beforehand that they provide and complimentary 'petit fours' type sweets/pastries with coffee are awesome. I will definitely suggest more people.
We mainly ate seafood. For starters we had smoked salmon, and fish cakes with cucumber salad. (Meanwhile our neighbors at the next table sang a song of praise for the Dover sole.) For main courses, we had duck breast with potatoes Maxine; and fish and chips with mashed peas.
The fish and chips was especially good. For dessert we shared a vanilla cheesecake with honeycomb ice cream. Also delicious. The table were elegant with white tablecloths. The service was very good. Homely and romantic ambience, Would definitely return.
The food here is consistent, prawn stroganoff can be recommended. Good surrounding and close to British museum. Beautiful hotel with excellent bar and food.
We had an awesome meal here. The hospitality manager did a great job recommending food, as well as drinks to pair with them. You could really tell he loves what he does.
We had lunch at this establishment and we had a great experience. The food was superb. We landed here because the restaurant at the the British Museum was booked out and we looked for a restaurant in the neighborhood. The service was very attentive yet discreet. The furnishings and overall environment was exemplary.
Food was fantastic, service was fantastic. Absolutely kind, friendly, beautiful people. They definitely went out of their way to make sure our experience was perfect. Highly, highly recommend this place. If we are ever back in London, will definitely be eating at this bistro again.
Excellent food! Friendly helpful staff, we recommend the limoncello royal! Drinks a bit pricey but well worth a treat! Wonderful evening and a straight forward walk to kings cross for the train home!
Went for dinner after attending a lecture at The British Museum. Food was perfect, the service was faultless and the staff were all professional and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
We were staying at the Montague hotel and only decided on the morning of our arrival that we wished to eat in their bistro.Their website showed no availability, but not to be defeated, I rang the hotel reception, mentioned I was staying that night and was it possible to book a table-I was told it was no problem-just what time!
We arrived at the restaurant after a hard days sightseeing and were ready for our meal-We had looked on the website that morning and this had shown the summer menu was still in place. We were therefore surprised to be told that their autumn menu was now in place.
However, the selection was just as good. My wife had a tiger prawn stroganoff with rice, which looked and tasted delicious.
I had their hand chopped steak, which effectively was a Pattie of cooked minced beef or at least it was to my eyes. However, this was also really tasty. The desserts were no less wonderful.
The selection of wines was good as was the coffee.
The service of the staff was attentive, yet unobtrusive and although the cost was more than we would normally pay, the experience and the quality of the food and the surroundings made it more than worthwhile.
Put it this way, we will be eating there again, even if we are not residents!!
Came here with my boyfriend pre theatre and went for the a la carte menu. The service was excellent and took into account our deadline for leaving. My starter and main were decent but not overly exciting (and I found the rabbit loin on my starter had gone a touch dry). However, the dessert of strawberry meringue was truly phenomenal and, in my opinion, beats those I've had at Michelin starred restaurants. It has gained itself an extra star from me on the basis of that dessert! I was also a fan of their South African red wine (from their vineyard).
Lovely, friendly, professional service.
Beautiful and really delicious food.
Was very quiet on a Friday night, but that didn't stop us having a great night with lovely food and wine.
I have to say that the staff was really perfect, and the food at the proper expected level. Service was a bit too rapid. But if you try the leopard bar of the hotel, you’ll forget all. Go and try this!
Excellent service, very friendly, was quite a lot of choice so was a bit unsure but if yo ask they are very happy to give you their recommendations.
Food was excellent and we didn't have to wait very long at all, overall a very pleasant experince.
Great food, great staff, great location. Worth a visit.
Not cheap, but not expensive either - main course will set you back about £10-20.
Had a superb meal with fantastic service after a great visit to the British museum - downside... it is expensive!
Good staff, I liked the soup.
