Amazing place in London. I love the food. can’t wait to come back here again. Congratulations to the staff.
Walking distance from Hyde Park this hotel restaurant has become one my favourite places in the city. I have been there already 4 or 5 times, every visit was full of great culinary experiences. Great service, astonishing bourbon cocktails by the bar, international team of employees always happy to help and serve you. I can definietely recommend beef fillet oscar with some shrimps and sauce on top or just new york strip, perfectly grilled as requested (medium rare in our case is the only possible way). They have also very good variety of wines, large salads (ceasar is great, but you won't be able to have a main course after that for sure) and interesting soups of the day (I had mushroom one with truffle oil on top - it was absolutely amazing choice on a rainy evening). If you are not into meat, even better reason to come over is famous JW cheescake, propably the best cake I had been eating in my whole life. All the ingredients are imported from US, but the cake itself is baked in hotel. Standard portion is massive, I recommend to share it for a couple or order piece take away.
Been in JW Grosvenor hotel several times, and had the chance to try this restaurant.
The waitresses always feel you welcomed, they are so friendly.
As a starter, the prawn cocktail is tasty. For the main, the ribeye steak is delicious.
Definitely a recommended steakhouse in London.
My father and I just decided to check whether if they had a table or not since we haven't reserved one earlier and lucky us we found a table.
Starter : spinach artichoke dip toooooo good a must !!
I had the grilled prawns there were four pieces and ya perfectly grilled
The cheesecake is a must as well
However the one that they serve is good for 4-5 people too big for two people 😂
We arrived to the gorgeous setting of JW Steakhouse in The Grosvenor House on a Wednesday Evening.
We automatically had a fantastic waitress call Ceara who knew everything inside and out about the menu so we decided to take her advice.
Starters:
- Prawn Cocktail- Jumbo prawns with Caviar- What more could you ask for
- Tuna Tartare- Topped with avocado spread- So Fresh. Absolutely Delicious
Mains:
- Ribeye Steak topped with Crab, Asparagus and Hollandaise sauce. This was gorgeous. Highly recommend!
Sides and Sauces:
- Potatoes Gratin with truffle salt on top- Gorgeous!
- Sweet Potato Fries
- Red wine Sauce and Peppercorn Sauce
Desserts:
- Ultimate Cheesecake- You must try this- It's the best I have ever had. It is huge so ask for a doggy bag!
- Apple Pie- So fresh filled with apple bits and raisins!
We chose our menu so well and recommend all of the above!
Make sure you are hungry because you will be full for days! Huge portions.
JW steakhouse is located inside the Grosvenor hotel on parklane which is a JW Marriott property, my first impression of the property was very good it is very beautiful and located in the heart of the city overlooking the magnificent Hyde park. The steakhouse is quite big with outdoor seating, they also serve sheesha outside which makes this restaurant even more attractive for sheesha lovers.
My order consisted of half a lobster baked with garlic butter, prawn cocktail, and half a portion of the crab cakes. The prawn cocktail was very good the prawns and lettuce were very fresh and the cocktail sauce was very good, the crab cake was quite flavourful and quite big for a small portion however, the lobster was the real star it was perfectly cooked and bursted with flavor. To end the meal I ordered the JW cheesecake which was another cracker of a dish.
I would suggest all of you foodies out there to try the Steakhouse at the Grosvenor hotel, and you guys must order the lobster and the cheesecake.
Expensive Breakfast. 29 quid for breakfast. Don't get me wrong, it was a very good English breakfast but not even close to being worth 30 pounds. It's within per deim but, Really!!!!,
Set within a 5 star hotel, JW Steakhouse comes with 5 star pricing, though meat lovers will attest that quality steak is worth paying for. All in all, I had an extremely pleasurable dining experience at JW Steakhouse with a fun, yet mature atmosphere making it an ideal location for groups of friends or colleagues to enjoy world class food in a world renowned setting.
If you like big juicy steaks then JW Steakhouse is the place to visit in London. With windows overlooking Park Lane, this is a large and lively restaurant with a Bourbon Bar at the far end that is worth arriving early for. Our waiter then explained the different types of steaks on the menu, from the finest cuts of USDA beef to the hand cut selections of Aberdeen Angus.
It is not very often that I'll be tempted back to a restaurant but just for the crab cake alone I'll jump at a next opportunity in a heart beat!
The best way to describe JW Steakhouse is BIG, which is quite appropriate given its American inspiration. A spacious room is filled with large wooden furniture, including tables big enough to play table tennis on and comfy armchairs sturdy enough to hold the biggest boned of our cousins from across the pond. Cow comes in the form of various cuts of USDA Prime Corn Fed and Aberdeen Angus, which are treated to a spell in a 650 degree Montague Legend grill. The real showpiece however, is the somewhat dramatically named 32 ounce on-the-bone rib eye ‘Tomahawk’ steak – a cut that can only be found at JW Steakhouse. Whilst the Adam Richman in us wanted to attempt the Man V Food sized s
A trip to JW steakhouse is a real treat! The food is delicious, the service is flawless and the interior has a certain luxurious appeal.
The restaurant offers tender hand-cut selections of American USDA prime beef, which was music to my ears because I love a good steak! I ordered the 'New York Strip' with a stilton and port sauce and my partner ordered the Oscar fillet, both with truffle salt fries. It was all very decadent and tasty. The portions were of a good size and it's safe to say that I felt satisfied with the meal!
While the truffle salt fries had a great distinctive taste to them, they were a little greasy and short in size (I know that's a strange thing to comment on, but it was a little bizarre!) The steaks were good, but I've had steaks of just as good quality elsewhere - for a cheaper price!
You pay more at JW for the location and service, both of which are incredible. All in all, I would say that the restaurant would be the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday.
Mayfair is not an area I normally frequent but I ventured over to this part of town to try this high end steakhouse. JW steakhouse is set within the Grosvenor House Hotel, it has a classy, polished feel to it with low lighting & trendy fixtures. The service here is very attentive, we choose a bottle of the cheap wine, and at £36 that should give you an idea of price here & were presented with a tasty little loaf baked in a small pot - it was delicious. We opted to share the 'Tomahawk' rib-eye, bearnaise sauce, truffle salt fries & sautéed wild mushrooms. The steak arrived as a whole piece and with it's huge bone throughout looked like something fred flintstone would eat, we were asked to check if it was cooked how we had requested (it was perfectly medium-rare) they took the steak back to the kitchen to slice up for us. There was more then enough meat for too, beautifully flavoured, well cooked & worked so well with a perfectly zingy bearnaise sauce. The truffle salt fries were delicious with a lovely flavour, the mushrooms were great but I would have preferred them to have been a bit more garlicky. To finish my other half insisted we went for what is dubbed the 'best cheesecake this side of the pond' at £14 it is an expensive dessert but then when it arrived we could see why- it was enough to feed 5 people! The cheesecake was very nice, the gingery base was so good but the best cheesecake in the country? Mmm I'm not sure it was nice but I wasn't wowed. All in all this a lovely place for a special occasion, the steak is fantastic but you will pay a high price for it.
The atmosphere in the JW Steakhouse is more than cozy, marvelous, classy and attractive!
Located in Central London and the Famous Grosvendor House I would highly recommend this restaurant not only for the quality they provide in part of the food but also the service they offer to their customers!
The cuisine is mainly Anglo-American and I would recommend to order the Grilled Lobster, Hickory Smoked Short Ribs in BBQ Sauce or the Longhorn Burger with crisp bacon which are from my favourites as a main dishesh!
Their wine list is marvelous as well, I prefer the red wines like the Aregntinian ones- Catena Zapata Nicasia Single Vineyard, Malbec ! Great place to visit!
For the sake of transparency I'm going to have to qualify this review from the start. Tonight's meal was the most expensive I've ever had to pay for. Those who know me will already know how much of my judgement this will affect, and I will be the first to admit that it has.
But it's experiences (for that must be what such a price buys) that tell you a lot about yourself - what you appreciate and value in life. I'll never see the value in designer labels or fancy jewellery but will easily spend on travel for instance. And although I've never claimed to be a foodie, today I can say with certainty that I'm not. I also know now that I am not a steak person - if the best steak in London doesn't do it for me, then none will. On the other hand I am able to appreciate why others might like a slab of meat, and I will also admit to have thoroughly enjoyed and seen value in meals that would have cost more than this one today.
Enough philosophy though, let's get to the food. The menu was straightforward enough: we pre-ordered our halal steaks a few days in advance, with myself teaming up with another to split an Angus Rib-Eye and American New York Strip - we had no idea which to choose so we hedged our bets. This was lucky, as I definitely preferred the accessibility of the Strip to the chewy gristle of the Rib-Eye, even though I would acknowledge that the latter tasted better.
Starters and sides were standard enough, and not worth mentioning explicitly, barring the table bread which was all kinds of awesome. A special note does go to the cheesecake, which might just be the one thing I go back for (although the place does apparently do a decent fish and chips too).
The atmosphere, table configuration and service all confirm the theory that after a certain cost it's the experience you pay for and all were pretty much top notch, although also on par with other places I've been to but of a fraction of the price.
Which brings me to the final bill. The evening cost an incredible (perhaps just to me and the student on the table) £55 per head, of which the steak alone was £35-40 depending on the cut chosen. If this is how much a decent steak costs, I can see why the consumption of red meat can indeed lead to heart attacks.
Which leaves me in a pretty interesting position here at the end of this review. Of course on principle there is no way I can give JW Steakhouse a general recommendation. But if someone with more money than sense did ask me if I knew of a top-end steakhouse that would offer halal meat, then JW will always have to be the first I suggest to them.
As a hotel guest, I was able to get seated. Being extremely busy, The manager Gad to become our server, what a privilege! He did not only explained to me the menu but suggested the dishes we chose and was friendly to engage with a little chat making our experience absolutely delightful. Thank you! I ordered the short ribs which was tender, tasty and plenty. The mash potatoes is like our grandma used to make awakening in my sister and I wonderful happy memories. Try the old fashioned banana split. And lastly, I did not think 🤔 that cheesecake is what it’s advertised so I hand carried one with me back to Texas for my husband to give me his verdict, oh my! He said 💯hands down, no doubt! He indulged in the most delicious cheesecake he had ever eaten. We are foodies and love to critique restaurants, so trust our verdict! It was a fantastic restaurant experience
The atmosphere and ambiance to this steakhouse is amazing. I ordered the lamb chops and mac and cheese. Not a fan of how they seared the lamb, prefer fire grilled, but the quality of meat was good. The mac and cheese was delicious, I recommend that as a side. I got the apple pie for dessert, which was also delicious.
Came here a couple of times before for oysters and steak. This time i still ordered oysters which were consistently good. However, the seared tuna and the sauteed spinach were too salty. The manager was very patient to listen to feedback, I'll be happy to return to see their improvement. Don't forget the dessert, i like their great selection of ice-cream flavours.
I had the pleasure of being served by Sabina, and I must say, she made my dining experience at the restaurant truly exceptional. Her attentive and helpful nature ensured that every aspect of my visit was delightful. Sabina's friendly demeanor and efficiency were commendable, and her recommendations were spot-on. Thanks to her, I rate my experience a perfect 10/10. Sabina is undoubtedly a gem of a waitress, and I look forward to returning to the restaurant soon.
5 stars all around. I wish I could add stars! First and foremost, the service is outstanding. Not just because it was prompt, but because it was also friendly, genuinely friendly! Everyone was warm, welcoming, smiling and attentive. My husband and I went there twice and staff that I didn’t even recognize remembered us and welcomed us back. They even remembered what table we had sat at the first time. As far as the food goes, everything was spot on and such a great value for what you get. I love to cook and I usually cook from scratch. So I can tend to have rather high expectations for the meals I eat at restaurants. It needs to be better than what I can do at home, and I am a very good cook. My husband and I were very highly impressed with everything we ate here. We both had filet mignon, his cooked rare, and mine cooked medium rare. Both were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. We also had the lobster Cobb salad which had an immense amount of lobster on it. The lobster was done perfectly. At our second visit, we had the crispy skinned salmon and a seafood platter. Again, both were amazingly delicious. We also had the cheesecake which was out of this world. If I actually lived in this country (I live in the USA), I would be back to this restaurant on the regular. I highly recommend this place as I don’t think you can get a bad meal if you tried! And best of all are the people that work there! They all get an A+ for service and I thank them for making our experience a beautiful one!
Came for a light dinner on a Saturday around 1900 and it had a nice but calm buzz about it.
Ordered the lobster Cobb salad which was 24gbp. They serve bread for the table which was warm and fluffy.
The salad was great quality and did the job but if I was hungry would say its slightly small.
One thing that is exceptional here is the service, it really stands out.
Not the cheapest but definitely worth visiting.
This restaurant offers a dining experience unlike any other. The creativity in their dishes is astonishing, and the service is always top-notch. It's a place I recommend to all my friends.
10/10 service 10/10 food. I absolutely loved it here and I will definitely come back. The service here is just amazing and everyone is so professional and friendly!!! The food 🤤 is mouth watering!!! We got bread & butter & a Caesar salad as a starter to share and both were great! Salad portion was a great size (we shared between 4). As mains we ordered the Roast Chicken, 2 x RibEye Steak (14oz) and the Calamari. Every single dish was cooked to perfection - portions were also very very good. As sides we had the hand cut chips which were HUGE, the mash (so creamy), mushrooms & asparagus. I literally tasted every side and just wanted more!! Our bill was around £190 - its not cheap but its very reasonable - You get what you pay for & its worth it.
What a great place to have a dinosaur size tomahawk steak and a whiskey. They casually mentioned that they also have the largest bourbon collection in Europe nbd. They certainly charge you a premium for the cut and the drink, but you just might end up with the most memorable part of your trip to London in your plate.
A top quality steakhouse with great food and service. They have a range of US and British meat with the usual cuts including larger cuts such as porterhouse to share. The staff are efficient and professional. The star of the show is the rich and creamy cheesecake which is absolutely delicious. They also serve sea food such as oysters. There is seating outside if the weather allows it but you cannot reserve them, they are first come first serve. Overall, the price is justified with the quality of the food and service in a more relaxed atmosphere and location. I would recommend you visit if you are after a great steak dish and do not mind paying for it.
Ok so this was an amazing experience from the start to the the very end!
Such such fantastic staff, highly professional, patient and helpful; from Sarah to Patrick to Andre...these guys did their job superbly.
The food was huge portions and the price was great! Better to share if you are in a group.
Not a massive menu, very compact yet full of food with awesome flavours.
The waiting times between each food serving was just appropriate, well timed and we'll spaced.
There is a near NCP car park which is not expensive and a 10min walk from the restaurant.
The ambience and the soft music is so beautiful, I will definitely visit again and also highly recommend.
Oh before I forget, very family friendly! You can bring along kids, babies etc
There is the outside lounge/seating area which looks very comfortable.
Overall splendid 🥰❣️👌🏼💫😋🤗
Amazing restaurant located in the wider Park Lane Marriott but can visit without a hotel reservation. The service is always amazing quick and attentive. Waiters handle the food with care and ensure steak is cooked to your liking. Very nice dark American steakhouse ambience perfect if you are going on a special date, attend with good company for a truly special evening.

What an absolutely fantastic steakhouse! We were staying at the hotel so reserved a table in the evening and were so happy that we did. Exceptional service (especially from Fernando), sensational steak choices, sumptuous sides, divine desserts and amazing cocktails… what’s not to love? Thank you to all at the JW Steakhouse- we will definitely be back again and will be telling all of our friends and family to visit when they’re next in London. Oh, and as for the JW signature cheesecake- oh my goodness it was so good we ordered an extra large one to take home and share with family the next day! 😋
Service e was very friendly and efficient.
Ordered 2 starters - salmon and Tuna, both were delicious and came out quickly, complimentary bread as well which was delicious.
Ordered the 1kg tomahawk which was very tasty and perfectly cooked.
Side orders were a little strange - marshmallow crust sweet potato was very sweet and didn't actually expect it to have marshmallow on it, but still tasty.
Mushrooms were delicious as was the coleslaw.
We also had the apple pie for dessert which was great. Would definitely go back again as price was very reasonable for everything we ordered.
Had a Saturday evening meal here.
Food and aervice were all very good, really nice steak and sides.
However, Management let a large group with many children run a bit wild, shouting, screaming etc.
It disturbed many diners. I think they should have tried to manage it better and asked the parents to look after the kids more. Difficult but spoilt the evening
