Since discovering Petek 2 weeks ago, we have been twice. We were skeptical of this restaurant, only because we weren't sure if this was going to be another didn't-meet-the-standard-hyped-up-London-restaurant. The first time we went, was for dinner and although we were the second table to be sat for dinner, the restaurant filled up in 30 mins and had a queue out the door.
For starters you get served complimentary olives and warm bread which goes down so well with the sauces they serve. We also ordered their hummus which is exceptional, especially with the added pomegranate. For mains we opted for the lamb shish kofte and the Petek Special. Oh - my - goodness. What a flavour explosion! The meat is so succulent and juicy; well seasoned and the accompanying rice is fluffy and fragrant. Both dishes were exceptional and be warned - the serves are big! Also can't fault the complimentary Turkish delight that they give you when you pay the bill.
I would definitely return as many times as my wallet will allow because this is my new favourite local.
This place is a real gem - the decor and atmosphere are lovely, the staff are helpful and nice, and the food is really delicious. The lamb shish kofta and hummous with pomegranate was the best I've had in a long time! Prices really reasonable to. Super recommend!
Superb! About the best borek I've ever had, in or outside of Turkey! Attentive service and fantastic, thoughtfully balanced flavours making all the familiar meze dishes extra special. Beautiful decor too. Go!

Ambience and Value. My boyfriend and I went for dinner at Petek last night and loved it. The restaurant is beautifully fitted out with stylish wooden furniture and innumerable coloured glass lights hanging from the ceiling, which add a lovely ambience. The staff were genuinely friendly and didn't rush us out after finishing our meal - in fact I think we sat there for another hour to finish our wine. The food is great value for money - main dishes average at about £10 but there is an excellent two-course deal for about £8.80. I ordered humus as a starter and vegetarian moussaka as a main and they were both absolutely amazing - packed with flavour and very generous serving sizes. They also brought us heaps of complimentary bread and chilli olives. Such a lovely restaurant - I highly recommend it.
The food is always excellent, the service friendly and efficient, and it has a nice buzzy ambience every night of the week.

Quickly becoming one of my favourite neighbourhoods, Stroud Green has no shortage of good restaurants. According to Google and TripAdvisor, one of the best is Petek on Stroud Green Road. We squeezed past people waiting for a table to claim our reserved one, to be greeted by very friendly and accommodating staff despite our being half an hour late. We were given menus to look at whilst we waited, then seated a few minutes later and instantly presented with olives.
We shared borek (warm pastry parcels with feta and herbs) and babaganoush to start, accompanied by chilli sauce and a very generous portion of warm bread to scoop up the babaganoush. Both were wonderful.
For main we shared grilled sea bass and a mixed grill (lamb kofte, chicken and lamb shish), which came with mounds of rice and salad. The fish was crispy on the outside but not at all overdone, the meat was tasty and tender; I really enjoyed both.
We finished off with a Turkish coffee strong enough to have strengthened the whole Turkish army going into the Battle of Gallipoli.
The meal was £25 per head, and given the very large portions this is great value. They even do a £15 per head mixed mezze/mains deal. The staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere fantastic and bustly, akin to Istanbul's Grand Bazaar. I highly recommend Petek.
I find this place to be absolutely perfect. They have a very efficient and flawless serving staff, which allowed us to get a table in less than five minutes in spite of the super-busy hour. The food itself tasted amazing, and it was worth every single penny charged. The atmosphere was very quirky and lively, and the setting had a rustic feel to it. I absolutely loved it.
It offers food which is uniform and solid each time I visit it, more so it might only taste better! The service is amicable and attentive. The ambience as well is stunning and simple. What more can you ask for? It is one of my favourites! A must try for all!
This place was amazing, with its delectable food and variety of soups. The bread was freshly baked and tummy too. The grilled meat was perfect, the succulent, and well cooked, not too dry. The place is warm and nice, has a peasant atmosphere too.
This is a lovely restaurant recommended by the staff of the hotel we were staying at. We've been here before, and as always everything was perfect. The food is delicious, quickly served and really flavourlul. The staff is friendly without being too much in your gface. The place attracts a lot of families, and is wonderful for a nice lunch or dinner. Booking a table in advance is recommended.
This is one of my favorite restaurant here in this city and i have never come out disappointed from this place. The decor is pleasing and mesmerizing and it is perfect for all sorts of occasion- be it a romantic meal or a family dinner. I would recommend you to book this place in advance. Food is appealing and appetizing and portion size is generously huge!
The restaurant is generous with their portions. We ordered a meat meze which was to be shared between the two of us.But the quantity served was so much that we were unable to finish it which was really sad as we enjoyed the dish thoroughly. They have priced their food reasonably. Highly recommended!!
This is one review that you can take by the word because I am a regular visitor. The serving staff is warm and cordial. The wine list is a long one and I would recommend that you try one new variety each time you visit. Do not forget the 'House Wine'. The meats that are offered are a treat for your taste buds. The place has lived up to its name of delivering the best quality and quantity.
This place was recommended to us by our estate agent, when we bought a house in the locality, as he also lives in the area. We came for a dinner on a weekday, and the place was really busy, with almost every table occupied so that was a really good sign. The theme of this place was very Turkish, and all the decor worked to give an authentic experience. We ordered the two course dinner, and it was very inexpensive. The breads that were given to us as a compliment of the hotel were fluffy, large and nice. It was accompanied with a selection of chilli olives. We had some amazing appetizers, and they were really huge in servings. The service was quite quick and friendly and all the kebabs were delicious. I definitely recommend it.
In my opinion, this place serves by far the best Turkish cuisine ever. The restaurant is always filled with good crowd and the dishes are appealing and appetizing. The wine selection was extensive and the house wine was refreshing. Some of their must haves are mixed grill, chicken and aubergine puree. Highly recommended!
To begin with, the service is inviting, amicable and prompt. Visiting this place second time, we are impressed much. Food is delicious, portion sizes are HUGE and amazing side options! They provide varied dips to go with food as soon as you arrive. On another upside, the atmosphere is very vibrant! Do visit!
If you are looking forward to tasting some delicious kebabs then this one place that you need to visit. The accompaniments like the yogurt and the black pepper sauce only enhance the flavour. The lunch menu has a lot to offer and it is worth all the money that you spend. I am a little sceptical about the authenticity of the the Turkish dishes. So I would recommend you to try the meats instead.
This Middle-Eastern/ Turkish restaurant is a great find and is always buzzing with people. It is very conveniently located and easy to reach by the tube, bus and train. The two course set menu is a great deal, with extremely generous portions. This deal has always been available whenever I have paid a visit. People from all over London come to dine here. I highly recommend this place to all.
Perfect hummus, soft delicious bread for just $10! Who could have asked for a better meal post some drinking with friends late in the night. The waitresses here were lovely and friendly. Considering how late we walked in, there was no wait at all even though the p[lace was tiny. Excellent portions of rice lamb and all things lavish!
This place serves some real good dishes from mediterranean cuisine . The Place is very popular and is always busy. Coming to our orders, we went for selection of meze. The dishes were served quickly and is great value for money. Not low priced but definitely reasonable. On another upside, The decor is stunning and there is alfresco seating as well!
The food at this place is simply divine! The complimentary fresh hot Turkish bread along with nice seasonal olives was a great start to our meal. I wanted to try their hummus so i ordered it and what came was simply the best hummus that i got my hands on. Next came the sea bass and lam shish.. appealing and appetizing they were. The wine list is very reasonable as well. Decor is pretty and soothing to your eyes. Highly recommend!
Discovered Petek by accident and have fallen in love with it. The romantic ambience and great Turkish food are well worth a visit. Enjoy a great evening meal here. My partner and I did.
This one is my favourite place for Turkish food. There is a wide range of options on the menu ranging from vegetarian to non-vegetarian food. the quantities are quite good and the ambience of the place is quite good as well. The staff is pretty warm and friendly, especially the owner who makes sure that everyone is comfortable here. I would suggest anyone who likes Turkish food to go for this one at least once.
This is a wonderful place and I am in totally love with it. The décor is quite an interesting one and the food is of very good quality. The portions are also quite generous and the prices are in a reasonable range. The staff is polite and the service is quite good for which they charge and I think they totally deserve it. I will definitely come back again.
This place is perfect for a date night , the only issue is that the service is being rushed because of the fact that the waiters have to look after many tables and this place is almost always filled up.
The food is amazing , I was very much satisfied by it . It was full of flavours. We ordered desserts too and I would say that it's been long since I had anything like that.

I had a great experience at this place. The food is delicious, with portions that are big enough to suffice your hunger completely. The food is also very well-prepared and absolutely delectable. The place offers vegetarian fiesta that are an absolute delight.
The spread of the buffet is immense and I have never been able to finish it all.
The non vegetarian dishes are also worth a try.
Hummus with pita bread, borek, cacik, and dolma are distinctly enjoyable.
The portions are massive and need to be packed for later.
A place which won me in one dish, cooked to perfection and served best that i have ever had away from turkey. In fact, the Borek i ordered was even better than one i have had in turkey itself. Extremely flavorsome and balanced dish. The staff is welcoming and attentive, decor enticing. Do try!
One of the few places where you can eat at leisure and the staff is not waiting to show you out. The food is excellent, as is the price for which it is charged. I loved the hummus and moussaka that I had ordered.The lovely decor catches one's attention immediately and you can spend some time admiring it too. Recommended!
My biggest compliant with this place has to be with the time they take to serve. It is ridiculous. They decide to serve the main course when one has not even finished their starters! Despite telling them to give us time between the starters and mains they chose to not listen. This time we asked them to take the main back and keep it warm. However, when they served it to us it was quite the opposite!
This is worth every penny that comes out of your pocket . Ya it’s a bit expensive than normal kebabs but the ingredients they use in their dishes makes you forget how much you are spending .
Their dishes are a treat for your stomach.
Definitely worth going and trying high standard ingredient dishes.

First time visit here, i was with a friend after a Arsenal game and wanted dinner, I actually didn't know the type of food here, but guessed it was Turkish, were were seated straight away, the restaurant is good size. We were given complementary Bread, Olives and Chill Sauce (which i asked for more of). There is a lot of choice on the Menu, i decided to go for a Lamb Shish, i opted for chips instead of Rice. Its hard it get a Lamb Shish wrong and this was no exception, i enjoyed my meal
The food was simple and tasty and presented well, service was also good. To drink i had a mint cooler, Bill for two was £38. So i don't think its the best value for money.

Extremely fast and attentive service

Basket of bread brought very shortly after. Fesh, soft and crispy but no doner kebab sauce on it(special Turkish secret). Still great when dipped in tomatoe dip.
Mixed shish for main (Chicken & Lamb)
Lamb, juicy, succulent, flavorful, soft, perfect
Chicken, little dry (but very rarely very juicy anywhere) soft, charcoal flavour good
Basmati rice a little basic but cooked right and soft, nice rice
Salad lacked flavour, missing a nice dressing like pomegranate sauce.
Yogurt on the side an unusual addition and not sure why/what exactly its meant to go with but nice, thick, rich and creamy
Decor very chilled, dim lighting gives a relaxed and intimate vibe without being too romantic. Family friendly.
Nice sofa style seating at some tables
Plenty of pretty traditional hanging lights and plates on the walls setting the scene.
Tea has sugar sachet not authentic cube.
Pistachio ice cream, delicious, creamy, sweet but not too sweet with plenty of pistachio pieces.
Baklava, warm, not cold like many places which is great! A little dry, maybe sitting a while but, not stale. Needed more honey on top.
Pastry a little powdery/crumbly not soft and juicy. Not too sweet though like some baklava can be.
The restaurant has a good authentic feel.
Price at the higher end of mixed grills at £21.50 or £28 for mixed shish and kofté but not the most expensive and some others charging in the same range do not provide near the level of service or quality of food

Such a great find. Came with a couple of friends for the first time during the week before going to Park Theatre. We could not find fault at all. The food was flavourful and generous, the beer cold and the service absolutely outstanding. It is definitely going on our favourites list for when we're seeing shows. The absolute loveliest people!!

The restaurant was quiet upon arrival at 18:15, but when we left an hour later it was filling up, and rightly so.
The staff were all very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. I opted for a lamb shish with yoghurt and sumac, the meat was so very tender and the side salad was top tier. Washed down with the very flavoursome Turkish lemonade with mint.
Will definitely be returning as there is quite an extensive menu.
Fabulous food served in a great atmosphere.... Plenty of space inside for both big groups and small. Good view of the kitchen from some seats too which is always nice. As usual when I eat Turkish I order a few meze and then have no space for a main but there's always space for baklava 😜
I can say this is one of the best London restaurants I've ever been! The staff is beyond friendly, excellent menu and the food was very very good. The portion was huge and we were even able to take some home!
I came here with my friends, we were all happy. The food is great, the ambiance is very pleasant, the service is very nice. You find everything you expect from a Turkish restaurant.

Hidden jewel. Serves proper Turkish food that isn't too spicy with a lovely ambience. Staff were also very polite and gave us a nice table in the corner.
A must go restaurant! Their meze plates are delicious - as starters, or you can simply enjoy them on a side with the mains. We went for their dish of the day - Tuna steak and traditional Chicken Shish kebab plate. Portions are huge and so tasty! Full of flavours and very fresh! Beautiful interior with polite, welcoming staff.
I love this restaurant. I have been here multiple times and could not fault the service or food. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive.
What can I say. Flawless on all accounts. The owner and staff make you feel right at home. No criticism. Perfect restaurant to visit when you’re in the area. If you’ve never tried Turkish food then this is the place to start.
Adana kebab was my favourite, the moussaka was also very nice. I liked that it wasn’t over spiced and it had a nice ambience.
Very good quality of food! I had hummus as a starter and chicken kavarma as main. Both of them were great! Big amount so you can have the rest for the next day lunch!
The best Turkish restaurant I’ve been to. The decoration reminds of the nice restaurants I went to in Istanbul. Just a delicious restaurant. Lots of added little things like olives, bread etc that are complimentary and it adds to the overall experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice, perfect for dates.
Lovely restyrant. It had a birthday and quite a big booking made it extremely loud to hear. Overall food was on point, service great and price was good for what you got.
Petek is great. One of the best places for food on Stroud Green Road. It's well priced, nice decor and friendly staff. Best to get a big sharing platter to try as much as you can.
