The food was enjoyable and well presented, with the set menu offering a great option for good value fine dining. The service was fabulous and the live music really added to the atmosphere. I was in awe of the stunning interiors which gave me plenty to hold my gaze during the meal. I’m planning a return visit for their famous afternoon tea.

The Langham, located at the top of Regents Street, is a perfect retreat from one of the busiest shopping areas in London. Dating back to 1865, it was the largest, most modern hotel in London and home to the first hydraulic lifts in England. The famous Palm Court with its beautiful art deco design interior, is apparently where the tradition of afternoon tea began over 150 years ago. Still famed for its wonderful teas served with Wedgwood china, they offer all-day dining and live jazz music. The menus were created by Executive chef Chris King in partnership with celebrity chefs Albert Roux OBE and Michel Roux Jr.

Chocolate Week seemed to come around very quickly this year! Last year you might have read my round-up of The Chocolate Show – if not, you can take a peek here. This year, I was very excited to be invited to try out the Chocolate Afternoon Tea hosted at Palm Court within The Langham Hotel. You may have read my review of Michel Roux Jr’s ‘Roux at the Landau‘ which is in the same beautiful hotel, so I was delighted to return! The centre piece of The Langham, London,  the dazzling Palm Court, is famed as the place where the tradition of afternoon tea was born 150 years ago! As soon as you step inside, you immediately feel relaxed and at home, while surrounded by beautiful, luxurious decor.

We went for the chocolate high tea, accompanied by champagne, and were not disappointed. Duck egg brioche sandwich was a standout, and the special edition chocolate desserts were miniature works of art that tasted even better than they looked. Excellent attentive service, making it well worth the high price.

I love afternoon tea.  I accept far too many invitations for tea and I have become something of an aficionado.  But where in London serves the best afternoon tea?  That’s one of those enigmas which will never be solved for me, there are far too many variables of personal taste.  Some diners like a substantial tea, others prefer something more delicate.  The balance of sweet to savoury dishes, of sandwiches and the type of scones are all personal.  I’d never presume to try and give an answer.  But, where will you find the best pastry chef?  For me there’s only one response and that is at the Langham Palm Court, where Cherish Finden works her magic.

The Langham London’s Executive Pastry chef Cherish Finden and her team have launched a new Wedgewood Afternoon Tea. Inspired by (and served with) classic Wedgwood collections and featuring butterfly and daisy motifs, the new tea service is a salute to spring and the warmer and sunnier days to come.

Easter afternoon tea experience at the Palm Court of The Langham -
A glass of Laurent Perrier Brut Champagne upon arrival; then served a sweet amuse bouche with rhubarb compote. I enjoyed a selection of finger sandwiches:

Cucumber, cream cheese and chives | Smoked salmon and asparagus on a rye cracker | Peppered beef pastrami and a Red Leicester coleslaw | Corn fed chicken with sultanas on carrot bread | Truffled duck egg brioche (my favourite)

I really enjoyed their innovative hot cross scones!!!! Cinnamon and raisin hot cross scones!
The Easter themed pastries were soooo cute; pastry chef Cherish Finden is super talented; this is her inspiration:
The bunnies are very excited to race to get the apple and so they hop across the first obstacle (which is the mango and passion fruit jelly with white choc mousse cake) with the hula hoop to get to the 2 white hollowed chocolate eggs with a cute sunny side up floating on the top. Then they race to the tanginess of the lemon shortbread (to cleanse our palette) and to the apple marshmellow foam with lemon chocolate mousse tower before jumping on to the see-saw on a 64% chocolate mousseine with raspberry and pistachio financier.
I was invited to sample their Easter afternoon tea; for all you selfie lovers and instagrammers you will love this.

Limited time only from 21st – 28th March, priced at £48pp and £59pp incl a glass of N.V Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne and seatings at 1pm, 3.15pm and 5.30pm.

Hop(p)ing for a happy Easter? You’re guaranteed a delectable and playful one with the limited run Easter Afternoon Tea offering by The Langham London’s Executive Pastry Chef Cherish Finden. As yummy as it is elegant and as exquisitely executed as it is super cute, the limited run tea commences with a lemon posset amuse bouche and ends with a selection of pastries displayed as a scampering Easter Bunny scene that’s almost too adorable to eat – but definitely too delicious not too.

When visitors come to London one of the many things they look forward to doing is experiencing a quintessentially English afternoon tea. There are many places on offer but one of the best that I can recommend so far is that at the famed birthplace of the afternoon tea tradition – The Langham Hotel or more specifically the Palm Court dining room. The hotel is located at the top of Regent Street away from the shopping hustle and bustle. A decadent and dazzling room, Palm Court started serving high-teas more than 140 years ago. The attention to detail and high standards enjoyed by the cream of society back in those days is still prevalent today and can be enjoyed by all those who step over the threshold.

Ahh the Langham – my second home. OK it’s not really, but if I could pick a hotel I absolutely adore then this is it. I work only a stones throw away and so I spend a lot of time here, normally over a meeting or morning coffee – though sadly I’ve still not stayed overnight. This time around however I wasn’t visiting for a meeting, but instead my own personal indulgence for a Saturday afternoon tea. Only in the past 12 months have I really given afternoon tea a spot as one of my culinary favourites and have since developed an unhealthy obsession with the whole experience and has led me to discovering some of London’s best pastry chefs.

If you remember, Fresh And Fearless and I first met at Bob Bob Ricard to "celebrate" his birthday. So when he invited me to try the new menu at Palm Court at The Langham to "celebrate" my birthday, I accepted. I used to go to Palm Court a lot ages ago for afternoon tea but I've never been there for an actual meal. The place is super elegant, with neutral hues and subtle lighting. The simple centrepieces of white orchid was such a nice touch, it made me feel rather giddy and womanly.

Whenever you search for the best afternoon teas in London, The Langham regularly comes up. So I was very excited when I was invited to get a sneak peak at the new Festive Afternoon Tea menu at The Langham, along with a few of my favourite blogger friends.

As I was walking into the Palm Court, I knew I was in for a treat. The decor is wonderfully luxurious. With it being quite early in the week and quite late in the afternoon, it wasn’t very busy. But with the wonderful pianist playing in the background, the music certainly filled the room.

We were spoilt for choice when it came to the tea – we could have anything we wanted.

There's something wonderful about London's top hotels; their style, elegance and history is so appealing - especially when you add the fact that they have great restaurants attached to them! . The Palm Court at the Langham has just relaunched as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations, with its new menu being created by Michel Roux, and last week I was lucky enough to be invited to try a taste of Palm Court and to meet the menu's creator himself

. Enriched with history,  the prestige and reputation of Palm Court, Langham Hotel,  has been alleviated even further in recent years, having been awarded several awards for ‘Top London Afternoon Tea 2012″. The West End hotel is located on Regent Street, one of London’s most iconic roads. Palm court itself, is displayed with elegance, intricately furnished with sage leather seats and a grand, high ceiling. Above average prices do not deter citizens from the traditional afternoon tea  experience, with the cheapest afternoon tea set starting at £47 per person.

Famed as the birthplace of Afternoon Tea, Palm Court of The Langham Hotel has been serving tea to the cream of London society since the Victorian era. The kitchen is helmed by the award winning pastry chef, Cherish Finden, who has appeared on Masterchef. I couldn’t express how excited I was when Mr Nom told me he had booked afternoon tea for me and a friend. Since watching the delights on TV I have always wanted to try the amazing cakes on offer. To sample as muh as possible we ordered one of each set of the Wonderland and Bijoux afternoon tea sets. Before our tea sets arrived, we were presented with a lime posset each presented with gold leaf to match the opulent surroundings.  This was extremely tangy which caused me to make some unusual facial expressions. The Bijoux tea set came with the following: Foie gras and smoked duck with granny smith apple Lobster, cucumber and shisho dressing Smoked mountain ham, aged comté, garden peas and truffle Foreman’s smoked salmon and brie with pickled apple purée Piquilo pepper flan with candied pinenuts Japanese bloody mary macaroons Elderflower and Greek yoghurt panna cotta Royal Ascot Victorian sponge hat Pistachio and apple sour diamond - I love all things pistachio so this dessert went down a storm with me and there were great combination of flavours too. Hereford strawberry and lemon Battenberg with lime jelly truffle, such a well crafted mini dessert, I couldn’t get over how small it was and the taste was incredible too. The Wonderland tea set consisted of: Crab, shrimp, cucumber, caviar and avocado  Burford brown egg mayonnaise with mustard cress Rose county beef with plum tomato and remoulade sauce Formans smoked salmon with whipped brie and wild rocket Poached cornfed chicken with coronation mayonnaise Passion Fruit and Mango Dome Valrhona chocolate tart Lemon and poppy seed cake was fresh and light after the slightly heavier chocolate tart. Layer Eton mess push up pop, at first we were staring at it not knowing what

Well, these stunning, jewel like cakes were glinting at me from the tea stand all afternoon but there was no way I could squeeze any of them in. They were truly magnificent. They had to be seen in real life to be fully appreciated for the works of edible art that they were.

Very nice place for drinks and light dinner. huge variety of single malts. Food is amazing. Tried the king prawns and they were the best king prawns i have ever tried anywhere.
Although the place is expensive, but we are dining at Langham. worth every money spent on the ambience and the service.
Afternoon tea is very popular at the hotel and one of the best in London.
Favourite Dish: King Prawns
For a special occasion drink in palm court and dinner at Roux in the same hotel.

Got to be a 5/5. We came here for a special occasion, as soon as you walk into the hotel you are greeted by the most amazing smell and fresh flowers. The porters are incredibly friendly and direct you to the afternoon tea room. We were given two options of tables and the service was lovely. Table cloth, table ware, the atmosphere were beautiful. You get your own dedicated waiter all the way through your afternoon tea who explains each course. The food was obviously delicious, and we were asked if we wanted another round of sandwiches which was a nice touch. Overall, we were really full by the end of the afternoon tea and had to take one of the deserts home with us. We really enjoyed our visit and had a lovely time. Couple of minor suggestions that I would able to the management: - The takeaway box is really small and our desert unfortunately was very squashed when we got home, that was quite disappointing. A bigger box would fix this issue. - For the price tag I think a refill of tea should be offered.

Fabulous setting, gorgeous food by chef Dom Taylor. £75 for three courses was well worth it. Cocktails were divine especially his rum 🍹 punch if a bit pricey around £19.00. I would go back for the Caribbean inspired excellent food.

I watched Dom Taylor in Five Star Kitchen on C4 and was chuffed to bits when he won 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. In my view it would be rude not to experience The Good Front Room in the Palm Court at The Langham. The menu caters for everyone, and the waiting staff make sure of your dietary preferences or allergies are a priority. I am a pescatarian and all I can say is the Sea Bass was emotional. The culinary detail of each of the dishes is outstanding and the flavours were literally Oh My Gosh for each mouthful. And those Plantain and Sweet Potato Chips….. knocked it out of the ball park. I have a love hate relationship with Okra and I have never eaten raw okra 😮 however that slaw is delicious 😋 . The Good Front Room is a wonderful premier dining experience with a menu that makes you need to return to ensure you have tried ALL the dishes. The music playing in the background was excellent. I cannot fault any of the service from reception until we left. The door staff were pleasant and friendly, offered to take our photograph.

I had an elegant experience at the hotel where afternoon tea originated. It was the first day of the New Year, we were served a glass of sparkling wine, a favorite of the British Royal Family. I was surprised at the quality of the sparkling wine., which was very tasty as it was made using Champagne growing and brewing techniques! The pleasant bubbles stayed in the liquid until I finished the last sip. It was so good that I went to the department store the next day to find a bottle. The sandwiches, scones, and sweets were also very good. visited on 1.January .2023

We had a lovely first-time afternoon tea experience at The Langham! The food was delicious, and we we got to try five different kinds of tea with unlimited refills. The ambience is lovely and there was live piano. I would've loved if the setlist included more classical pieces. The highlight of this afternoon was our wonderful waiter, Alam. He took the time to recommend teas based on our taste preferences and explained the flavours of each brew we tried. He was attentive and made sure we were content with all stages of the experience. The extra plate of sandwiches he offered us was the cherry on top! Thank you, Alam :)

My friend and I visited The Good Front Room at The Langham on 18th October when we enjoyed a delicious and innovative Caribbean meal, with a twist. Had it not been for the prior timely intervention of Chef Dom at our previous visit in August, it would not have been possible for us to have had this experience, for which we remain grateful. We would have liked to thank Chef Dom in person having enjoyed our meal but sadly, we were not able to do so, due to the extent of his commitments which, he rightly takes very seriously. We had a memorable evening in beautiful surroundings which we felt was courtesy of not only Chef Dom but also, everyone who played a part, in making this possible. We understand that Chef Dom's tenure is to be extended into the new year and, we look forward to being able to come back again at some point in the future to build on our positive experience.

The Good Front Room Launch at The Langham London - Europe’s first ‘Grand Hotel’ that was opened in 1865. Nested in the luxurious dining area, I feel this is the best new modern Caribbean restaurant in the heart of Regent Street, London. The curated menu is tailored by Chef Dom Taylor - the crowned winner of Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef on Channel 4. This latest delicious menu has a combination of very exotic Caribbean style and London’s city vibe. The exotic flavour comes from Caribbean’s most celebrated ingredients, such as plantain, goat, rum and sorrel. And No Spicy at all!!! Sharing my recommendation for your next visit: C O C K T A I L S - Piña Verde - Carrot Cake Punch - Chef Don’s Punch S T A R T E R S - Ackee and Salt Fish Cake - King Prawn and Dasheen Salad M A I N S - Dark Rum and Raisin Pork Belly - Banana Leaf Baked Sea Bream S I D E S - Green Banana Gratin - Rice and Peas - Maple, Coriander and Lime Glazed Plantain D E S S E R T S - Bun and Cheese - Cocoa Bean

We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had the afternoon tea menu and we each tried a couple of teas. We liked both the savoury and sweet options, but the quantity was small given the price. We liked the atmosphere and the background piano music was great. They also brought a small cake for happy birthday, which was a nice gesture.

After watching the recent TV competition my wife was anxious to sample Chef Dom's cooking, and my birthday provided the ideal excuse. Food: we all enjoyed our starters of jerk chicken and akee & salt fish cake (more of a roll) and our mains. My wife loved the curried goat and my bream was both large and tasty (I forgive the one tiny bone) while the third member of our party (who has very sensitive taste buds) ate his pork belly without complaint! Sweets were less successful: the pannacotta was thought a bit bitter and the coconut ice cream disappointed. My cocoa bean was enormous but I see now it was supposed to be shared! However, I manfully ate it all. Drink: our cocktails were pleasant if on the slightly small side and I had a glass of a very nice sauvignon blanc. Service: our evening was to some extent spoiled by the service which really needs attention. There did not appear to be a maitre'd to keep an eye on things and different people kept visiting our table. Not one course was served without a Q&A as to who was having what, and then asking someone if everything is OK just as they take their first mouthful is a bit pointless. I appreciate the restaurant hasn't been open long, but this area needs to be a bit more organised. However, the fixed price menu (£75) is reasonable value in a top hotel in the centre of London and it was good to see the Chef visiting tables after service was finished. One final gripe: if you want the loo you have to follow hard to read signs along corridors and stairs and all the time keep looking out for "Rest rooms". Hotel manager: this is the UK, not the US!

This was our first time in London to do tea time. We’ve had teatime in other cities in the U.S., and this was nice but not any better than the U.S. ☺️. However, the pianist was a nice touch and the atmosphere was very good.

My husband & I were visiting from Australia & decided to visit after watching 5 star chef. Entree & mains were outstanding, bursting with flavour. Desert was good, except the only dairy free option was basically just coconut ice cream - be great to have a more creative option available. Service, we didn’t find this to be 5 star - the wait staff could have been more attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine, and we refilled our own glasses , as well as had to flag the staff for water, bill etc. Overall was a nice experience however. We would have loved to meet Chef Dom, but this was not possible due to his workload.

A cosy intimate restaurant that serves excellent afternoon tea. There is a pianist in attendance throughout the meal. You start with sandwiches and savoury scones, followed by a selection of patisseries, and end the meal with sweet scones. The savoury scones were very good, and the sandwiches, especially the salmon, were excellent. The selection of patisseries, which are "re-imagined" versions of a Walnut whip, Jimmy Dodger, Fig roll, and Custard cream, was not our cup of tea (pardon the pun). We found it a tad too sweet, but it was an interesting take on sweets from a bygone era. The chocolate cake with a sprinkling of coconut flakes was "re-imagined" from the popular Bounty candy bar. The service was excellent. Our server, Zsolt Kovacs, was always nearby but never intrusive. Tea was refilled quickly, and the plates cleared and replaced with new cutlery after each course. Definitely recommended for the occasion that calls for a more elaborate afternoon tea. Do note there is a time limit of an hour and forty-five minutes for each seating, but we were never rushed. Advance reservations are a must.
